Welcome back to Psych-Minded. I'm your host Kalley Marie and today we're gonna

be talking about the difference between covert narcissism and overt narcissism.

Welcome back to Psych-Minded! If you haven't yet subscribed, please hit the

subscribe button so you'll never miss a video on Mental Health and psychology.

If you are a new subscriber, thank you so much for being here. There have

been so many of you that have joined me in the last couple months and it has

been absolutely overwhelming. I am so happy to have you here. I hope you enjoy

what you are seeing. If you have any video requests please let me know in the

comments, on Instagram -- you know where to find me.

I love taking your video requests so please don't be shy and don't hesitate

to ask me if there's a specific subject you want to know more about. Today we're

gonna be talking about narcissism and specifically the difference between overt

narcissism and covert narcissism. Before we dive into this, I want to clarify -- when

we talk about narcissism, it can get a little tricky because we can have people

that have narcissistic tendencies but then we also have people that have the

narcissistic personality disorders. So just because somebody exhibits

narcissistic tendencies doesn't necessarily mean that they have a

full-blown personality disorder. When we talk about overt versus covert

narcissism today, I want you to keep that in mind. This can apply to either

somebody who has the trait or somebody who has the disorder. Hopefully it

will make more sense as we go along but first we're just gonna dive into what a

narcissist is. According to the DSM-5, narcissistic

personality disorder is characterized as a grandiose sense of self. The individual

is preoccupied with their ideals and their values and themselves. They believe

that they are the number one, end-all be-all. They are essentially never wrong

in their views and generally believe that they are the best. They can lack

empathy and believe that they deserve an excessive amount of admiration. That's

sort of one end of the spectrum of a narcissistic personality disorder where

we can see there's a lot of factors going on that are contributing to the

personality disorder. When it comes to just the trait of narcissism we do

see that in narcissistic personality disorder but we also know people

that can just be narcissistic without necessarily having a disorder. So we're

gonna go into what those different types are. The first one we're gonna talk

about is an overt narcissist and an overt narcissist is the one that we typically

see as being the stereotypical narcissist. They're very forward

and extroverted about how they feel about themselves. They make no shame in

trying to hide what they feel about themselves and that they believe that

they deserve this sort of pedestal treatment. An overt narcissist isn't

gonna make any attempts to try to hide or keep their feelings about themselves

a secret. They truly believe there are the best and they let everyone know it.

The other type is a covert narcissist. This is the type of

narcissism that sometimes is difficult to recognize. This is the more secretive

or introverted -- basically hidden sort of narcissism. We're gonna dive a

little bit more into what covert narcissism is because I think a lot of

us are pretty good at identifying when people are over narcissist

but the covert is a little

bit more difficult to detect. I'm gonna dive into some research I found

and some of my own thoughts on what covert narcissism is all about.

Individuals with covert narcissism tend to be more introverted like I mentioned.

They're still pretty proud and argumentative and defensive but they

tend to keep their feelings about themselves a little bit under the

surface; a little bit closer to the belt. They come across more passive-aggressive

and have a lower sense of self-worth than somebody with overt narcissism.

In a lot of ways a covert narcissist is still very much all about their own ego

but it's in a negative way. It's not in a "I'm amazing.. I'm grand...

I am perfect," kind of way. It's sort of an inflated sense of self surrounding these

negative attributes that they feel about themselves. So they're still inflating

their ego but they're doing so in sort of a negative

kind of way.Someone with covert narcissism may play the victim to

get attention. That's one of the key characteristics that they found with

this. Someone with overt narcissism might try to go for class

president or another role that's really in the spotlight. Whereas somebody with

covert narcissism is going to do something a little bit different to try

to get that same attention. What are some of the myths about covert

narcissism? Covert narcissism does not necessarily mean that somebody is

sneakier or more manipulative than someone with overt narcissism nor does

it mean that they're better at hiding their narcissistic behaviors. This is

just a way that the narcissism is presented. It has to do with how these

tendencies in this individual whether they have narcissistic personality

disorder or they just have narcissistic traits -- it's sort of how they manifest

themselves. Just like with any other trait if someone feels jealous or they

feel an intense amount of depression, those are going to manifest differently

for different people. They found with narcissism it sort of comes about in one

of these two ways either you have somebody who is playing the grandiose

role or you have someone who's playing the victim to get attention.

Someone with covert narcissism may also have these grandiose aspirations for

themselves or believe that they should be put on pedestals but they're just too

shy to navigate it. They're not really sure how to meet their goals or how to put

themselves out there. So whether an individual has narcissistic personality

disorder or is simply narcissistic you may see their narcissism manifest in one

of these two ways. I wanted to point out the difference because mental

illness can manifest in a lot of different ways for different people and

if we're struggling in ourselves to kind of figure out what's going on or looking

at someone else and trying to help them, this can be really helpful to know that

there are variations within narcissism or within traits that we find within

ourselves. What do you think about overt in covert narcissism? Let me know in the

comments below. Don't forget to subscribe and like this video!

I will see you guys next time

What If People Don't Like The Music I Make? - Duration: 5:43.

What is going on what if someone doesn't like your music when you take the time

to release an album or become a music producer rejection is definitely a

reality in this video we're gonna discuss how to deal with rejection in

the music industry but first I'd like to let you know that episode 4 of the

samplers podcast is live right now at the daydream sound website this week's

episode deals what the question of is the barrier to entry to low for music

producers in 2018 and of course you could always support our work here by

liking and subscribing to our channel and with that let's get to it

rejection and general dislike of our music by the general public is the

plight of all musicians we all go through this over the duration of our

career and it's something that has to be managed and put into perspective or the

consequences that can be suffered from continuous rejection can cause an early

end to our careers and music you know it's one thing to get general hate from

people who you don't know like if you put out an album or you're making beats

and someone just says well I don't like that I don't like this guy I don't like

your music I don't like you well it's never something that we want to hear

it's still really an anonymous opinion what can really shake us up is negative

feedback from people whose opinions we actually respect when you receive

negative comments about your music from people like this it can really dominate

your thoughts and while your self-esteem may not be shaken

you will be bothered enough to wonder how can someone evaluate your entire

work that you put so much effort in and just flippantly dismiss your creation so

we're gonna go over three things to help you deal with this number one

have great people around you this can be friends acquaintances business partners

your core team the people that you interact with most have to be people

that will snap you back into the present whenever things like this happen they

will remind you why you make music in the first place and these aren't yes men

or women that I'm talking about here these are people that will see you

spiraling out of control overthinking things and snap you back

into reality and they'll do all this because they know and above all things

you chose to make music and as long as that is your goal they'll hold you to

that number two now when you do receive comments or feedback or negative

reactions in general about your music you're gonna have to deal with it this

isn't something that you can run away from and the most beneficial way to deal

with this sort of thing is to turn it into a learning experience sometimes the

most valuable Intel that you can gain about your music and your craft comes

from a genuine insult and in knowing this you can take the criticism from

others extrapolate what works for you and what you can use and discard the

rest this is a very important step because you're not going to be able to

move forward unless you do this and a technique like this is a great way of

finding out exactly who your audience is and what they like and if you find that

you're receiving the same vein of criticism consistently about your music

it doesn't say anything negative about your music what it is saying that

possibly the audience that you have isn't the type of audience that you need

and since we live on earth with a lot of people there is definitely room for you

to find the audience that will react favorably to your music oh and one last

thing before we move on a genuine negative comment is not to be confused

with a dedicated listener or client or fan recognizing that you may have took

shortcuts and intentionally put out subpar music hoping that they wouldn't

realize if your audience is calling you out on this in what might seem like a

negative comment it's time for you to stop take a step back and realize that

that particular person or people is giving you the biggest for most

port you can ever get what they are saying is that they enjoy your music so

much and they're invested in you so much that they want to see you do better

because they know you can do better and rather than silently move on to

another artist they'd rather let you know to step your game up and that's a

big sign to let you know that you have the right audience and you have a

dedicated audience number three keep it moving once you've gone through the

process of step one and two realize you're still here to make music and as

artists we don't have time to stop the cultivation of our craft to mourn over a

negative reaction to our music it's best for us to realize that when we take

risks and music people will hate what we do today and love what we do tomorrow

we've seen this time and time again throughout the history of Arts in

general sometimes our audience isn't all ready to accept what we're doing and

sometimes the reactions may vary from positive recognition to all-out hate so

we have to put everything in perspective but what we can't do is stop a career in

music can be a serious mental rollercoaster with extreme highs and

ridiculously low lows kind of like life and no matter what part of the journey

we're on we have to keep on being creative and if we deal with rejection

and negative reactions from our listeners in this way we can ensure

longevity in our careers without burning out mentally anyway thank you for

watching if you liked and learned something today

subscribe to us here on YouTube I will catch you on the next one in the

meantime take care of yourself peace

What is the 421a Tax Abatement in NYC? | Hauseit® - Duration: 3:20.

The original 421a tax abatement program began in 1971

and is named after section 421-a of the New York Property Tax Law.

The tax abatement was meant to encourage developers to build multi-family residential buildings,

with an emphasis on affordable housing, in NYC.

How Long Will My 421a Tax Abatement Last?

The 421a tax abatement on a property ranges from 10 to 25 years,

depending on which specific code it falls under.

Codes 5110 and 5117 offer a 10 year term.

Codes 5113 and 5118 have a 15 year term.

Code 5116 offers a 20 year term.

Lastly, Code 5114 offers a 25 year term.

Buyers should carefully diligence the remaining term of any 421a tax abatement advertised on a listing.

Most public search websites will only list the current monthly property taxes,

and only some websites may disclose that the building currently has a 421a tax abatement in place.

Risks to Buying a 421a Tax Abatement Unit

Buyers should carefully diligence how many years are left in the 421a tax abatement,

especially if they are buying a re-sale condo or co-op that still has a 421a tax abatement in place.

A seller could be desperate to sell because he or she knows that the exemption is about to expire

and that their property taxes will be spiking in a couple of years.

Furthermore, the owners and building management of the condo or co-op building

may not have contested assessed values with the tax authorities during the exemption period.

As a result, assessed values for tax purposes may have inflated dramatically over the years,

which will result in a massive increase in taxes when the exemption period ends.

You'll tend to see properties with longer term 421a tax abatements, up to 25 years,

in areas of NYC that are considered by the government to be still under development.

That often means parts of upper Manhattan and outer boroughs like Queens and Brooklyn.

Selling a 421a Tax Abatement Apartment

Sellers should list their homes for sale before the 421a tax abatement benefits start phasing away.

This enables sellers to advertise the lowest possible monthly property taxes

which will enable them to attract the widest selection of buyers.

Even if most buyers and their attorneys will figure out that the unit's

421a tax abatement is about to expire during due diligence,

the sellers will still have managed to attract the initial attention of the maximum amount of potential buyers.

As a result, some buyers may not care about the higher monthly outlay in the future and may still wish to buy the unit.

In contrast, if a seller waits too long to list their property, and does so during the end of their exemption period,

they'll be forced to advertise much higher monthly property taxes.

And don't even think about asking your listing agent to advertise the previously abated tax figures

as that could easily incur a lawsuit from an angry buyer down the road.

What Chelsea fans did to Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho is wrong... 'it's disappointing' - Duration: 3:11.

The match was marred with controversy after Ross Barkley scored a 96th minute equaliser

Man United had come from behind to lead 2-1 thanks to two second half strikes from Anthony Martial

But the former Everton midfielder stopped Jose Mourinho from winning at Stamford Bridge for the first ever time as United boss

Chelsea's technical assistant Marco Ianni celebrated the equaliser right in front of the Portuguese boss, sparking a touchline scuffle

Mourinho then felt the brunt of the home supporters, prompting him to hold three fingers up to the crowd in reference to the three Premier League titles he won as Blues boss

According to Peter Crouch, Chelsea fans were in the wrong and disrespected their former boss

"I know he manages Manchester United now and I know he is a figure that people love to hate but he is also a Chelsea legend," Crouch told the Mail

"This is the man who won three league titles and helped turn Chelsea into the club they are today

"What he was confronted with when he came back to London recently seemed disappointing for a man who achieved so much there

"I hope one day in the future - maybe when he has moved on from Old Trafford - that Mourinho will again be viewed by Chelsea fans in the way they regard [Frank] Lampard

"There needs to be recognition for what he has done." Lampard returned to Chelsea in midweek as manager of Derby as his side were beaten 3-2 in the Carabao Cup

The all-time leading goalscorer received a warm welcome, one that was very different to Mourinho's according to Crouch

"It was fascinating to watch the Carabao Cup tie between Chelsea and Derby on Wednesday, not least because of the ovation Frank Lampard was given," the Stoke striker added

"Of course, it was always going to be emotional for him to return to Stamford Bridge

"He won everything there is to win with Chelsea, he's the club's all-time leading scorer and the word legend perfectly describes his standing with supporters

"But I couldn't help think about the difference between the reception he received compared to the way Jose Mourinho was treated a few weeks earlier

"

What If Pinhead Was Real? - Duration: 5:05.

Pinhead – the Hell Priest, the Pope of Hell, the Cold man, the Engineer, the Lead Cenobite.

This sadomasochistic is a true creep who shook up the movie villain game when he started

surfacing in the 1980s.

luckily the body mod menance isn't real – but what if he was?

Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions – the channel that looks to examine

a multitude of queries from science, history, politics and pop culture.

I am your host Rebecca Felgate and today I am asking What if Pinhead was real.

Before we get into this sadomasochistic spook of a video, I want to ask you guys a would

you rather….would you rather date pinhead and everything that involves, or date Slenderman….

Imagine them as Mrs Pinhead or Slenderwoman if that helps in any way.

Slenderman has all the tentacles… but Pinhead…well….he'll cut you up!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below !

Pinhead is the chief cenobite from the Hell Raiser – so if he was real, it would also

mean that the Cenobite race were real, too.

The cenobites are former humans that have been morphed by ritual mutation.

They live in a religious cult called the order of the Gash in a different, hellish dimension.

If this race was real – this would mean that not only are multiverses real, but there

are whole new races of sentient beings out there, with whole separate religions.

Professor Stephan Hawking was right!

Cenobites harvest human souls for ritual mutation.

The use sexual experimentation and torture to push sensation to the maximum in order

to find a true hedonistic way of living.

If Pinhead and his gang were real – you wouldn't want to meet them….

Unless you wanted to have your skin peeled off, anyway.

Although that being said, there are people out there that enjoy being sexually tortured,

so maybe they would seek out the cenobites.

Would they then become one?

Pinhead started out as a human suffering from post traumatic stress following World War

One.

Previously called Captain Spencer, he took part in the Battle of the Somme.

The soldier became shell shocked and disillusioned.

After the war he began testing taboos and eventually came across the Lament Configuration

Box.

When he solved the puzzle of this box he was transported to the Cenobite dimension and

turned into one of them, as his face was cut into squares and adorned with pins in his

skull.

This must mean that humans CAN BECOME Cenobites.

While the Cenobite realm seems a lot like hell, would some humans actually want this?

Possibly!

Although they wouldn't be able to take it back.

For those of us not comfortable living as part of a religious cult, or being experimented

on to the point of the highest physical torture, we might fancy …you know….

Not running into pinhead and his cronies.

If Pinhead was real and we knew about him, it might be the explanation behind a number

of disappearances.

If we knew about Pinhead, I am sure that a team of armed and trained professionals would

be unleased to try and seek him out and obtain the Lament Configuration box.

The box seems to be the key to alternate dimensions – it is not safe in the hands of Pinhead

who uses it to find human experiment subjects.

To stop the Cenobite's travelling dimensions and stealing humans, then we could destroy

the box, although if it is the key to another dimension, I wonder what else it unlocks.

There are so many wider implications here, such as time and space travel – it would

need to be bestowed into trusted scientific hands for experimentation and guarded with

great force.

Another huge question we would need to ask – if Pinhead were real, does this mean that

lucifer, the devil, and the Leviathan are real?!

They are mentioned in hellraiser, and if that is true, if hell is the dimension that the

Cenobites live in and we can travel there using the Configuration Box – could we destroy

hell?

Could we access other dimensions like say heaven….

Which opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

The Cenobites manage to outwit Sherlock Holmes in a story – which makes me worry for the

rest of us!

I have to say - those involved in capturing the Configuration box and Pinhead would need

to be very brave, and very well paid.

The Hell raiser series paints him as a formidable and morally reprehensible enemy and unlike

a lot of horror movie foes, he is presented as intelligent.

What is scarier than a brutal killer?

A brutal killer with a brain.

So, what would you guys do if Pinhead was real.

Let me know in the comments section down below!

Do you think you could outsmart him and if so how would you do it?

He's a blooming creep isn't he!

I wonder if we could ram his face into something and get those pins to pierce through to his

brain?

Too much?

Probably not enough ! Like share.

Thanks for watching this episode of LBQ.

I am your host Rebecca Felgate, I'll catch you in the next video, but until then, stay

curious, stay alert and never ever stop questioning..

2018 Ozone Hole Is a Reminder of What Almost Was - Duration: 1:12.

This year, the ozone hole over Antarctica reminds us of what could have been.

In 1987, the world's nations agreed to the Montreal Protocol, banning the use of chemicals that destroy ozone.

The ozone layer began to recover.

The ozone hole reaches an annual maximum size at the end of each southern winter.

In recent years, these maximums have been getting slightly smaller.

The ozone hole fluctuates with temperature – chemical destruction of ozone is enhanced when it's colder.

This year, the South Pole region was relatively cold, so the hole grew larger than in the previous two years.

Scientists were able to compare this year's ozone layer to models of what the ozone layer might have looked like without the Montreal Protocol.

In spite of the colder temperatures, the ozone hole was still much smaller

than it would have been, evidence of ongoing scientific success.

What came out before the Big Bang? - Duration: 6:41.

hey guys this is space train you are Dan Lee expressed till the edge of this

space and today we will talk about what came before the Big Bang grab your

ticket and let's go

don't forget to subscribe to get unlimited pass on our expedition

before there were humans dinosaurs walked the earth before there was an

earth there was just a big cloud of gas and dust floating out in the universe

before there was a universe well before that is a point that physicists spill a

lot of ink over we don't know what happened before the Big Bang gave birth

to the universe but the smartest people in science have plenty of fascinating

theories the ideas differ sometimes wildly but they all pretty much agree

that the Big Bang at least happens if you want to see more about Big Bang

Theory check our other video how did the universe begin you can find link down

below so the Big Bang Theory says that our universe began as a point of

infinite gravity and density called a singularity then in a trillionth of a

trillionth of a trillionth of a second it exploded outward doubling and

redoubling and red doubling in size at a rate faster than the speed of light in a

phenomenon physicists call inflation ordinarily nothing can go faster than

the speed of light this was an expansion of space itself though so it allowed to

bend the rules so the Big Bang happened one thing led to another and now you're

here but we're concerned with everything that happened before that what caused

that singularity in the first place for an explanation to have staying power it

needs to solve a few problems physicists have been puzzling over the biggest one

the universe has surprisingly low entropy a technical term for disorder an

ice cube has low entropy for example because the water molecule

and that are arranged in an orderly way once that ice melts those molecules are

going to spontaneously reform themselves into a cube everything goes in the

direction of disorder never the reverse but if that's the case the universe

should be a uniform distribution of disorganized subatomic particles

how did atoms ever form molecules how did clouds of gas and dust form stars

and planets and galaxies the only explanation is that the universe had

even lower entropy at its birth than it does today but how here are a few of the

leading contenders for what happened before the Big Bang number one an

earlier universe collapsed into the singularity that started our own this

idea known as the Big Bounce was first proposed in the 1960s by Princeton

researchers Robert dick and James Peebles some proponents of the idea say

that our universe is infinite going through a never-ending cycle of collapse

and expansion and that means we're just waiting for another collapse

critics say the principles of entropy don't allow a universe to collapse into

a singularity and out again and proponents admit it would require some

new physics to make sense but as we will see so do many other pre Big Bang

Theory's number two the universe was hibernating until something set it in

motion this idea says that the pre Big Bang universe was a small flat

high-pressure space that was metastable or stable until it found an even more

stable state the way a house of cards might sit perfectly solid forever until

a breeze came through at some point that breeze did come through he stopped being

metastable inflating into the universe we know this theory doesn't break the

laws of entropy but it doesn't explain entropies issues with our current

universe either number three there was never a singularity instead all the

energy in the universe was bound in the fabric of space known as the inflation

hypothesis this idea says that fluctuations in this so-called inflaton

field led to a huge swell of energy in one patch of the

field which made it expand incredibly quickly that exponential growth spurt

would leave evidence behind in the form of primordial gravitational waves not

the big ones discovered by LIGO in 2015 but tiny imprints in the Cosmic

Microwave Background in other projects including the bicep2 experiment have

been searching for we may not have found evidence for this one yet but most

cosmologists think it does the best job of explaining the universe's low entropy

along with a few other cosmic quirks number four we are just one universe in

the multiverse this theory is an offshoot of the inflation hypothesis and

says that the elements that lead to inflation also lead to the creation of a

bunch of smaller low entropy universes unfortunately all of those universes

would be closed off from one another so we never be able to detect them

that's unsatisfying to some scientists for obvious reasons scientists think the

Big Bang is an idea that does a good job of describing the history of the

universe however the idea is not perfect we don't know why the universe expanded

so quickly in the first second and then slowed down we don't know why the

expansion of the universe is speeding up now we don't know why we have a certain

number of forces that control the universe and we don't know what started

the Big Bang it will take some time before we will find out answers or

someone will come out with a better explanation of creation but for now it's

best theory we have and best explanation of time before the Big Bang is that

there was nothing at all but came something start from nothing let's

figure out that in our next video and don't forget to comment what do you

think what was there before Big Bang there are lots of questions left so

don't space out and live some space in your brain for answers I hope you

George Brookman: What was it like when Calgary was awarded the 1988 Games? - Duration: 1:16.

The similarities between 1982 and 2018 are unbelievable.

We had just been faced with the National Energy Program. We'd seen a precipitous

drop in oil prices. We had hundreds of people out of work. And suddenly this

announcement came that we had won the 1988 Olympics. It was jubilation, and it

changed the mood of the city literally overnight. People were excited. People

were enthused. We had the Saddledome already built.

We had all sorts of exciting things happening suddenly people wanted to

buy cars and buy trucks and buy cupcakes and do all sorts of things. We got the

got Canada Olympic Park going. We got the ski hill at the Nakiska going and it was an

exciting, exciting time. It's hard to tell you how successful the 1988 games were

without just saying that they were wonderful time for Calgary. And I believe

we can do it again in 2026. Not in some nostalgic fashion, but in fact just as

good, and just as exciting, and just as good for our economy.

Jose Mourinho reveals what was 'awful' about Man Utd performance at Bournemouth - Duration: 2:42.

United fell behind to Callum Wilson's stabbed finish after only 11 minutes at the Vitality Stadium

They were level ten minutes before half-time through Anthony Martial, who scored his fifth goal in his last four Premier League games

And Marcus Rashford nicked all three points right at the death, converting Paul Pogba's cross at the second attempt

However, Mourinho was left fuming with his side's lacklustre defending. The hosts carved out a number of chances in the first-half, with goalkeeper David de Gea forced into seven saves throughout the match

"It was the whole first half. I said at half-time I was the luckiest manager in the Premier League in a half when it should be like 5/6-2," Mourinho said

"We were defensively awful. As a team we didn't press or do any of the work we did in the week

"People watching this game will not believe how hard we worked this week. "The first half was a disaster

The second half was much better. "We created lots of chances and deserved to score before the 92nd minute

Mourinho's decisions appeared to swing the momentum in his side's favour after half-time

Summer signing Fred seemed to struggle with the pace of the game and the Red Devils boss acted swiftly by bringing him off for Ander Herrera just ten minutes after the break

When asked what he said to his players at half-time, Mourinho added: "I started off positive

"I said it is impossible to play worse than we did so the second half will be better for sure

I was happy bringing Ander Herrera into the game. "I felt we needed him to give more balance and to recover the ball faster

I was happy with that change. It was much better."
