The head of the U.S. Army Pacific Command, General Robert Brown,... has revealed that

while military exercises by South Korea and the United States have been reduced in size

and scope on the Korean Peninsula, they have been conducting higher-level drills elsewhere.

In an interview with Defense News published on Monday,...

General Brown said the U.S. recently held drills in Hawaii and Alaska... in which South

Korean troops took part.

Brown had been asked in the interview what the U.S. Army is doing to offset the allies'

suspension of drills in South Korea... as part of easing tensions with the North.

existing pipelines only support export to America.

The Trans Mountain expansion opens new overseas markets,

giving us access to more customers and better prices,

generating billions for Canadian priorities and providing the freedom

to make our own calls.

Trump's Trade Wars, Corporate Greed Just Cost U.S. Another 15,000 Jobs - Duration: 3:22.

On Monday it was announced the General Motors is going to be closing at least five plants

across North America for here in the United States, one in Canada, in slashing upwards

of 15,000 jobs, 15,000 jobs.

They're cutting 15 percent of their entire workforce here in North America because according

to the company, Donald Trump's trade wars have just made the cost of us steel and other

things needed to make cars.

They're just too expensive and we've got to cut staff.

We've got to cut salaried employees who have great benefits.

We have to get rid of them because Donald Trump's trade wars have made the cost of our

raw materials too expensive to turn enough of a profit.

That's only partially true.

Yes, Donald Trump's trade wars are harming the automobile industry.

They're harming a lot of industries here in the United States.

Farming is tanking right now because of these trade wars, so there is a little bit of truth

to that.

The other side of it that GM is not talking about is plain old corporate greed.

That's what's really behind this decision to cut 15,000 people right here at the holiday

time because you see General Motors so profitable that they got $514 million dollars from the

uh, Republican tax cut that was passed last year, 514 million in additional savings because

of that tax cut on top of that over the last few years they've actually gotten $50 billion

dollars from the US government to make sure that they keep running.

It was part of the auto industry bailout and subsequent bailouts that happened after that

$50 billion dollars.

So yeah, I understand that trump's trade wars are hurting you.

It's making the cost of raw goods go up, but you're already passing those costs along to

the consumers.

You're not technically paying that we are and now 15,000 workers in North America are

paying for it with their jobs because you don't want to be honest about what's actually

happening.

Yeah, it's super easy to blame trump for a lot of things.

And I understand.

Again, part of it isn't his fault, but most of it is corporate greed.

Most of it is the fact that your CEO and your shareholders want more money in their pockets

and they don't care how many thousands of lives they ruined in the process of putting

that money in their pockets.

The government is bailed you out countless times again to the tune of $50,000,000,000

and that's still not good enough for you.

General Motors, this is capitalism here in the United States, folks, it doesn't exist.

Know the free market, the doesn't exist.

The invisible hand of the government is actually a tight grip from corporations on the government.

Corporations are calling the shots.

GM goes and says, I want to bail out, and they get it.

They say, we're going to lay off 15,000 workers after you gave us 514 million in tax cuts

and there's nothing you can do about it, and they're 100 percent right?

Because corporations like gm and to many others in this country have absolutely overtaken

our government to the point where our elected officials, at least the ones in office right

now, are 100 percent.

The puppets of corporations like GM.

Trump Proposes State Run Media Network To Tell The World How Awesome He Is - Duration: 4:34.

Everybody knows the Donald Trump hates the media with the exception of Fox News, of course,

but he hates the media because they're always so darn mean to him, and he makes sure that

anytime he gets his little bitty feelings hurt by the media, that he gets on twitter

and attacks them and lets us all know how sad and depressed he truly is, that the media

is not being nice to him because he hasn't done anything worthy of being nice about.

So yesterday on twitter, Donald Trump came up with the brilliant idea.

Maybe we should just create a state run propaganda outlet to show the world how great Donald

Trump truly is.

Here is what Donald Trump tweeted over a series of tweets.

While CNN doesn't do great in the United States based on ratings outside of the US, they have

very little competition throughout the world.

CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way.

Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own worldwide

network to show the world the way we really are.

Great.

Um, okay.

First and foremost, aside from this being a ridiculously stupid idea, there actually

already is a state run media outlet.

It's called Voice of America.

Uh, the government funds it to the tune of about $220,000,000 every single year.

So we already have what you're talking about Donald trump.

The problem is their coverage of you is also not completely, uh, you know, great.

Why?

Because they're talking about what's actually happening in this country.

So if you wanted to start a different worldwide network, as you call it, to show the United

States the rest of the world, actually how great that United States is.

What are you going to talk about?

You can talk about the fact that we have people who are dying because they can't afford prescription

drugs.

People who are being given rejection letters because they can't afford a organ transplant.

Uh, people in Alabama living in what the UN has called extreme poverty on fewer than $4

per day.

You're going to show them all of the, uh, homeless veterans that we have that all the

administrations in recent years of just kind of turned their back on.

You got to show them images of us border agents, gassing children.

Is that what makes America great?

Are you going to show them footage of the Georgia election where the Republican literally

stole the election from Stacey Abrams?

You're going to show them that.

What are you going to show him?

Donald, you're going to show them the fact that you're still out there riling up these

disgusting human beings in your rally who were chanting, lock her up while ignoring

the fact that your very own daughter and many other members of your administration did the

exact same thing that you want Hillary Clinton locked up for.

Is that what you're going to show them?

What exactly do you want your worldwide network to show?

Donald?

Tell us.

Tell us what this programming is going to be.

Because I can promise you, if you want to show the rest of the world what America is

really like, all it's going to do is lower their opinion of us here in the United States.

We are running out of things to be proud of right now.

Again, people are dying because they can't afford their prescription drugs.

We have an administration.

You Mr Trump, who says that climate change doesn't exist.

We have Republicans in Congress who in spite of the massive climate change report, we just

got say it doesn't exist.

You are out there insulting the state of California after they suffered the deadliest wildfire

in the state's history.

You neglected Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria just left them to die.

You're pretty much doing the same thing to all the other hurricanes that have hit along

the coast.

Luckily here we've had enough good citizens come forward and volunteer their time and

efforts and money to help rebuild the areas in the United States hit by hurricanes.

A lot of those actually came from NFL sports teams, which you claim to hate so much.

They're the ones out there doing real work.

You know a Tampa Bay buccaneers, the Houston Texans, with Jj Watt after Harvey, you got

the Carolina Panthers after the hurricane struck up there this year.

They're out there helping people.

What are you doing?

You're playing golf.

You're ignoring problems.

You have a horrible disaster response on hand, ready to go anytime something bad happens

in this country, so you don't really want the rest of the world to see what all of us

here in the United States are seeing every single day.

Because I can promise you if they truly understood what was happening here, they would hate us

even more than they already do.

Fr. James Martin: Why is the U.S. tear-gassing migrants? - Duration: 3:11.

- Yesterday the US Customs and Border Protection Agency

fired tear gas at migrants trying to seek asylum

in the United States at the border crossing at Tijuana.

How did our country reach the point

where we are tear gassing mothers and children?

One reason is because of the widespread myths

about these brothers and sisters of ours.

Myth one, they are illegals.

First of all, no one is an illegal person

and seeking asylum is recognized as a universal human right.

Current international agreements about asylum

stem from a desire not to repeat the fate of Jews

during the Second World War

who were denied entrance to many countries.

And one requirement for asylum

is to be physically present in the United States

which is exactly what these people

from Central America are trying to do.

In fact, it's illegal to dismiss asylum seekers

without hearing their cases.

In other words, they are trying to follow

both international and US law.

Myth two, we can't afford them.

Many people believe that the US and many European countries

shelter a huge amount of refugees.

That is false.

The majority of the world's refugees

live in poor or middle-income nations.

Eight out of 10 of the world's refugees

are sheltered by developing countries.

In 2016 for example,

Turkey, Pakistan, and Lebanon

hosted the highest number of refugees,

a combined total of 5.4 million refugees.

Of the 15 million refugees worldwide,

86% reside in developing countries.

By contrast, the United States,

one of the wealthiest countries in the world,

is allowing in only 30,000 next year.

We can afford to welcome these refugees.

Myth three, they are mainly criminals.

Claims that these migrants are criminals,

that this exodus harbors terrorists

from the Middle East are unfounded.

Are there a few criminals somehow mixed in?

No more than with any other group in the past

and that would include the immigrants

that came to this country in the last 200 years.

Italians, Irish, Germans, and on and on.

People fleeing Honduras for example

who are mainly women and children

face some of the worse violence, inequality,

and corruption in the world.

Criminal gangs, rape, and persecution all on top of poverty.

There's a reason that they're risking everything

to come here.

They are fleeing crime, not bringing it.

So before you dismiss these people as illegals,

as too expensive or as criminals,

please know the facts.

And even if you want to dismiss these facts,

remember what Jesus said about welcoming the stranger.

He didn't say welcome them when they had the right papers.

He didn't say welcome them when you could afford it.

He didn't say welcome them when there is zero risk to you.

Jesus said welcome them.

It's OK to eat some romaine, look for labels: US officials - Duration: 8:30.

It's OK to eat some romaine lettuce again, U.S. health officials said. Just check the label

The Food and Drug Administration narrowed its blanket warning from last week, when it said people shouldn't eat any romaine because of an E

coli outbreak. The agency said Monday the romaine linked to the outbreak appears to be from the California's Central Coast region

It said romaine from elsewhere should soon be labeled with harvest dates and regions, so people know it's OK to eat

People shouldn't eat romaine that doesn't have the label information, the FDA said

For romaine that doesn't come in packaging, grocers and retailers are being asked to post the information by the register

Romaine harvesting recently began shifting from California's Central Coast to winter growing areas, primarily Arizona, Florida, Mexico and California's Imperial Valley

Those winter regions weren't yet shipping when the illnesses began. The FDA also noted hydroponically grown romaine and romaine grown in greenhouses aren't implicated in the outbreak

The labeling arrangement was worked out as the produce industry called on the FDA to quickly narrow the scope of its warning so it wouldn't have to waste freshly harvested romaine

An industry group said people can expect to start seeing labels as early as this week

It noted the labels are voluntary, and that it will monitor whether to expand the measure to other leafy greens and produce

The FDA said the industry committed to making the labeling standard for romaine and to consider longer-term labeling options for other leafy greens

Robert Whitaker, chief science officer of the Produce Marketing Association, said labeling for romaine could help limit the scope of future alerts and rebuild public trust after other outbreaks

"Romaine as a category has had a year that's been unfortunate," Whitaker said. The FDA still hasn't identified a source of contamination in the latest outbreak

There have been no reported deaths, but health officials say 43 people in 12 states have been sickened

Twenty-two people in Canada were also sickened. Even though romaine from the Yuma, Arizona, region is not implicated in the current outbreak, it was blamed for an E

coli outbreak this spring that sickened more than 200 people and killed five. Contaminated irrigation water near a cattle lot was later identified as the likely source

Leafy greens were also blamed for an E. coli outbreak last year. U.S. investigators never specified which salad green might be to blame for those illnesses, which happened around the same time of year as the current outbreak

But officials in Canada identified romaine as a common source of illnesses there

The produce industry is aware the problem is recurring, said Jennifer McEntire of the United Fresh Produce Association

"To have something repeat in this way, there simply must be some environmental source that persisted," she said

"The question now is, can we find it?" Growers and handlers in the region tightened food safety measures after the outbreak this spring, the industry says

Steps include expanding buffer zones between cattle lots and produce fields. But McEntire said it's not known for sure how the romaine became contaminated in the Yuma outbreak

Another possibility, she said, is that winds blew dust from the cattle lot onto produce

McEntire said the industry is considering multiple theories, including whether there is something about romaine that makes it more susceptible to contamination

Compared with iceberg lettuce, she noted its leaves are more open, thus exposing more surface area

Since romaine has a shelf life of about 21 days, health officials said last week they believed contaminated romaine could still be on the market or in people's homes

Food poisoning outbreaks from leafy greens are not unusual. But after a 2006 outbreak linked to spinach, the produce industry took steps it believed would limit large scale outbreaks, said Timothy Lytton, a Georgia State University law professor

The outbreak linked to romaine earlier this year cast doubt on how effective the measures have been, he said

But Lytton also noted the inherent risk of produce, which is grown in open fields and eaten raw

Trump threatens to lock US Mexico border after migrants attempt to storm entry - News Live - Duration: 2:49.

Donald Trump has threatened to permanently close the US border with Mexico after violence flared when hundreds of migrants tried to illegally gain entry into the States

The President also demanded the Mexican government deport thousands of migrants back to Central America

He tweeted: "Mexico should move the flag waving migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries

Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U

S.A.  "We will close the Border permanently if need be."  The Mexican authorities reacted by vowing to deport up to 500 who stormed the border

Tension has mounted since "caravans" of Central American migrants – mainly from Honduras – began arriving in Tijuana a few weeks ago to attempt entry into the US

More than 5,000 have been camped in Tijuana.  On Sunday, US Border Patrol officers fired tear gas and rubber bullets into the crowd, which included families with young children, after being assaulted and hit with rocks

The San Ysidro crossing between Tijuana and San Diego was also closed for several hours, stopping thousands travelling legally between the two countries

US Border Protection said: "Agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents' safety

" At least two dozen canisters could later be seen on the Mexican side.  It was confirmed that 42 migrants who stormed the border were arrested on the US side

Thirty-nine people were held for offences on the Mexican side.  Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said authorities would maintain a "robust" presence along the border and that anyone who damaged federal property or violated American sovereignty would be prosecuted

She said: "We will not tolerate this type of lawlessness and will not hesitate to shut down ports of entry for security and public safety reasons

"  Mexico vowed to shore up security on its side of the border and the Interior Ministry said it would deport those who tried to "violently" enter the US

US border agents said the vast majority of those massed at the border were economic migrants, who would not qualify for asylum in the US

The stand-off threatens to become the first crisis for Mexico's President-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, 65, who takes office on Saturday
