Why students go to UC Riverside: "Everything I need in my major is right here." - Duration: 6:27.

I like that you were mixing it up in front of that pack. Where you're at in

your training right now I thought you were in a really good spot running with

that group. Really? Yeah! Yes.

Can you keep that right leg down?

There you go. Thanks Coach

My journey started in South Africa where I was born. I'm a South African citizen

and I've always wanted to go to the U.S. to to try and pursue different

opportunities and running and plant biology and decided to go to UC Riverside.

So after it flowers it has this big seed pot. There are all the

seeds. Some cacti are edible and we make candy out of them and whatnot. I try to

go to the Botanic Gardens at least once a month, its also one of the first places I

went to as soon as I came to UCR.

So all this white stuff is where pollen coming off

My parents are both horticulturists and I basically grew up in a garden

center environment where I was always surrounded by plants. So I really just

loved plants from a young age and that's why I got this interest to start growing

plants for myself and me and my brother decided to pursue a hobby when we were

10 years old and we just started in backyard growing a few plants and then

selling them to our parents. It's nice to see all the plants in a good collection

and to see some South African plants that are native to my own country. Its a fun experience.

We have some of these, some of the grass flowers back home.

Almost everything here are things that we grow.

It does make me miss home because I do realize what how lucky we are to have

such great biodiversity in plants. That makes me feel at home when I see

something like this and it makes me proud to be South African

My mom my dad are usually really excited. They're really happy when I call them

A son that that that has the same interest as they do,

"Dis sempervivums, portulacaria encrassula ovata"

That's something that can keep our bond together.

Usually when I get back home and I'm at the airport I give my parents

a big hug and if Hanri's there I give her a big hug, but when I leave my mom always

cries and I cry as soon as I go through the gate she's just never sees it.

I try and act strong.

It's definitely challenging to go to a different country. You're in a

new culture and you have to try and adapt to this culture. Everybody is

different and now you come here and it's different food, it's a different language,

and you miss the people back home. I've met some really great friends on

our team. I live with a few of them and it can be

pretty tough living with people that have different views than you, but we still

have a lot of fun and we do fun stuff together.

"What do you want to have for breakfast?"

"I brought some coffee from home it's

pretty good coffee. I got my special mug as well"

"You're such a good chef!

Thank you!"

In South Africa I started running when I

was 10 years old.

So when we were running, I'm one of the guys that looks around

all the time. I never look just in front of me. I don't just run I look

at all the plants and how they irrigated. The other night we were running down our

street and he stopped at a cactus and he was like "Oh man this thing's probably 25 30

years old and had like some black growth on it he's like, oh it's got a bacterial

infection he's like, he's a nerd!" My roommates try and buy the best plants

they possibly can and then they ask me what for advice and what to buy and I go with them and I go shopping for plants.

So these guys, they opened up their houses and their hearts for me to come in and a

lot of them that I feel like we're gonna be lifelong friends even after college.

It's cool to to have some knowledge about plants and then be able to tell people

because maybe they'll remember that and show it to the kids or to their friends

one day.

"I've walked around here, so I want to see what's inside. I have tried to snoop

through windows before. Hi, nice to meet you too. So we've got the over 75,000

specimens Wow I'm really excited to be here so, I'm

gonna hang out here a little bit more. Now that I know what's inside it's cool.

It's really old. There's one that's kind of ripe.

You don't see a lot of plant people around so it's nice to meet someone

Another plant nerd.

Wow! Anyway that's our oldest specimen.

What I want to become is a

plant breeder and some people would call that a botanist but I enjoy breeding

plants and that's what I want to do. It's an addictive hobby. Everything I need in

my major is right here on campus. Knowing that it's in the middle of SoCal. it's in the

perfect area for the industry I want to be in. It's a beautiful campus, there's a

lot of people I can talk to with a lot of knowledge in the field. That's

something that really drew me to this place. Everything from an athletics

perspective is perfect. I got the best facilities, I've got the best coach and that's

all that I'm asking for as a runner.

It has started to feel a little bit more like a

second home, especially since I'm meeting all these great people. I feel like

that's gonna be something that would help me throughout my life. UCR is

definitely gonna be one of those big stepping blocks in my career and

something that just propels me in the right direction. I definitely look

forward to the next few years to see where this would take me.

I'm really happy

Why Do I Need A Website? - Moko Media Minute - Sandi Gauder - Duration: 1:36.

So some people come to us, new businesses probably more so than established

businesses, and say, "Well, why do I need a website? I've got a Facebook page."

Ah, okay, that's great, you've got a Facebook page. When was the last time that

Facebook changed the rules? Oh, last week, right? And then the time before that was

about three months ago, and the time before that was about six months ago. So

your entire web presence is locked in to this third party that you have absolutely no

control over. And this is how you want to establish your web presence. Okay,

I get it, it's, you know, it's free. I get that side of it. But you're not in

control, and most business owners that I know like to be in control. And the only

way you're gonna control your website is to build a website and host a website

and control the content that's on the website, and you could still keep your

Facebook page up-to-date, but you're not, you're at the mercy of Facebook, and if

they decide that they want to change the rules again next week and your Facebook

presence becomes irrelevant, or you can't get found on Facebook or

the people that you thought you were engaging with on Facebook aren't even

seeing your posts, that's no way to run a business you have to be in control of

your web presence and that means website.

'I need to go for a walk' - Leonardo Bonucci baffled fans with brilliant moment vs USA - Duration: 5:18.

Football News24/7  Leonardo Bonucci didn't have too much to worry about during Italy's 1-0 win over the United States

On Wednesday night, Italy had another opportunity to continue their rebuilding process under Roberto Mancini and secured victory by the narrowest of margins

Italy were fresh from a 0-0 draw with Portugal - who qualified for the UEFA Nations League finals - and looked on course for another goalless affair at the Cristal Arena

The United States posed little trouble for the renowned Italy defence, mustering just a single shot on target and 26% possession despite coming seconds away from a draw

It wasn't until stoppage time that Italy eventually secured the win with Matteo Politano finding the bottom left corner from a Roberto Gagliardini assist

Italy 1-0 United States  Mancini expressed his relief at avoiding another 0-0 result after the game, remarking: "It was heading to 0-0 again… but that's football, there's nothing you can do about it

"We had so many chances, the important thing is that it was a good performance

It was the first time we were playing together, so we couldn't think of playing like the first half for 90 minutes

"It was another solid performance from the aforementioned Bonucci, though, who is on the comeback trail after a disappointing campaign with AC Milan

Bonucci's brilliant pass Nevertheless, he continues to produce moments that remind fans why he's one of world football's best defenders and one such instance came against America

Bonucci attracted plaudits across Twitter for an inspired pass from deep, using the outside of his foot to take almost the entire opposition side out of the game

Frankly, it was an unbelievable pass, never mind for a centre-back, and deserved to result in a goal

It still got the credit it deserved, though, and the video can be checked out below:  No wonder the fan 'needed to go for a walk' after watching the clip

Bonucci is a brilliant example to other defenders when it comes to playing out from the back, starting attacks and occasionally providing assists

It's only one example from the 31-year-old, but it certainly had the quality you'd expect from players like Andres Iniesta and Kevin De Bruyne who have turned passing into an art

Thankfully, Italy finally provided the finishing this type of creativity deserved and the nation will be feeling optimistic going into 2019

No matter how the future pans out for them, though, you can guarantee that they'll continue to produce top quality defenders just like Bonucci

And when they can deliver passes like that from out of the blue, there's every chance they'll be competing for silverware very soon

Who do you think is the best defender in the world right now? Have your say in the comments section below
