The US Cyber Command has launched an offensive against Russia.

The New York Timer reported that the American Cyber Command has launched its first operation against Russia.

According to the newspaper, the brave star-and-striped boys have entered into something like communications

with the intent to convince "the Russian hackers" to stop that notorious "interference into the US internal affairs".

It has been less than a week since I have recorded a video about the prevailing mood in the American military.

If you remember, in that material I suggested that the Americans would look for pretexts for a confrontation with Russia via cyber warfare.

Many in the American military believe that their country does not make enough effort to counter the cyber threat.

Naturally, they do not specify who exactly poses a threat for the US in the cyber space, but we do remember

that in the West every tea kettle screams about "the Russian hackers".

It appears my prediction have turned true. Here is a fresh article in a leading American newspaper.

Let us take a closer look at what The New York Times says in its article titled "US begins its first cyberoperation against Russia aimed at protecting elections".

"The United States Cyber Command is targeting individual Russian operatives to try to deter them from spreading disinformation

to interfere in elections, telling them that American operatives have identified them and are tracking their work".

The new American campaign, according to these officials, is aimed at both oligarch-funded hacking groups

and Russian intelligence operatives who are part of Moscow's disinformation campaign" - states the article in The New York Times.

What do you think of this turn of events? Our citizens have reacted as expected - by trolling.

"The American Cyber Command begins a special operation against the Prigozhin's trolls. That is what true success looks like - when a superpower starts a cyberwar against you".

"Have you received a massage form the US Cyber Command yet?"

It is funny but according to The New York Times, 'the first cyber operations" is nothing more than communications with God knows who.

At the same time, the Defense officials would not say how many operatives they were targeting, and whether the direct messages were delivered in an email, a chat or some other electronic intervention.

Senior defense officials insist they are not directly threatening the operatives. Still, the officials said anyone singled out would know,

based on the United States government's actions against other Russian operatives, that they could be indicted or targeted with sanctions.

Considering an extensive experience the Anglo-Saxons have in false flag operations, I would not be at all surprised if mentioned by The New York Times "cyberteams"

dispatched to Ukraine, Macedonia and Montenegro actually fake the activity of "the Russian hackers". This might be done to provide support for unsubstantiated lies about Russia.

After all, the US likely have taken into account the experience of their British allies who wet their pants but failed to present any evidence of "the Russian interference".

In the UK, there has been a confrontation between the government and the Parliament.

The stumbling block was the issue of "fake news" and the apprehension on the part of the British lawmakers that Russia had interfered in the Brexit campaign.

I want to remind you that the Parliament has cooked up an anti-Russian report that asserted "the Russian interference".

However, in three months the cabinet has examined the reports and refused to follow most of the recommendations.

The main point in the government's response - at this time, there is no evidence of successful interference from foreign states or organizations in the internal affairs of Great Britain.

The purpose of that "cyberoperation" praised by The New York Times might be precisely to concoct ahead of time "evidence", which could be later used to accuse Russia and justify aggression against us.

If my hypothesis is correct, then after the November US elections we will be witnessing a renewed barrage of anti-Russian accusations and heightened Russophobic hysteria.

Join Us in Skipping the Straw! - Duration: 2:03.

We live in a beautiful place, and we're incredibly lucky to be here in the Tennessee

Valley in the Southern Appalachians.

There are so many things we can do outside here, if it's hiking or paddling along the

river, or maybe it's just sitting out on the river enjoying a quiet time with your

friends.

But one thing that puts a really big damper on those days is seeing a lot of litter and

trash where you want to be enjoying nature.

For more than a year, the Tennessee Aquarium has been working with more than 20 other aquariums

across the nation to reduce the single-use plastics in our facility.

We've also been working to encourage others to make that journey with us.

One of the first things you can do to reduce single-use plastics in your life is skipping

the straw.

For most of us, a straw is a luxury or even something we don't even think about at this

point.

Maybe it's a waiter who shows up and plops one on your table, or you grab one when you're

getting your drink without even thinking about it.

We're asking you to think about skipping the straw.

It's probably something you don't need, and we use a lot of them, and many of them

end up in our waters.

The real problem with plastics in our water is that they grind down into these small particles

called microplastics.

Those are basically magnets for anything else in the water, whether it's heavy metals

or other contaminants.

They adhere to that plastic and work their way into the food chain.

This is something we obviously don't want happening.

That's why it's so important to us to make sure the plastics we use are reduced

as much as possible and recycled whenever we can.

A lot of people think environmental problems have become so big and insurmountable that

individual choices don't matter, but this is absolutely one where the small decisions

you make each day can add up to a big change in having plastic-free waters.

Single-use plastics can pass through our hands in just a moment and last a lifetime in our

water.

So join us in skipping the straw.

Your last straw is the first step to plastic-free waters.

-You guys, it's Halloween.

Happy Halloween, everybody! [ Cheers and applause ]

It's really exciting for kids.

It's a chance to get lots of candy,

and for parents it's a chance

to look inside your neighbors' house and judge them.

[ Laughter and applause ]

"A lot of carpet."

It's almost midnight on Halloween, which means right now

every CVS employee is frantically stocking the shelves

with Christmas decorations.

Go, go, go, go! [ Laughter and applause ]

"I need tinsel."

I saw that a Republican congressman in South Carolina

gave trick-or-treaters pocket-size Constitutions.

[ Laughter ]

Yeah. It was the first time that kids were like,

"Got any raisins? I mean, this is awful."

And here in New York,

Reese's unveiled a candy converter vending machine

where you put in your unwanted candy

and you get back peanut butter cups.

It's real. They have it -- There it is right there, yeah.

It worked for an hour until New Yorkers

started stuffing it with coffee cups and newspapers.

[ Laughter and applause ]

Listen to this.

The DEA says that if you see candies labeled

Munchy Way, Keef Kat, or Rasta Reese's,

they may contain weed.

[ Laughter ]

When adults heard that, they were like, "May contain them?

What the hell did I pay for? Yeah, they better contain them.

Rasta Reese's? Come on, man."

[ Applause ]

I read that Amazon's Alexa

can now answer questions about the midterms.

Yep. Which explains why today Trump was in the Oval Office

asking, "Alexa, what are the midterms?"

[ Laughter and applause ]

"What are they?"

Some more tech news.

Apple just unveiled over 70 new emojis.

And some people think one of them looks drunk.

Take a look at this.

[ Laughter ]

In response, the emoji was like, "No, you look drunk.

What are you talking about?" [ Laughter ]

"Am I -- Am I a pretty girl?"

[ Laughter ]

Today was the Red Sox's World Series victory parade,

and I saw that a fan actually threw can of beer

that damaged the World Series trophy.

[ Laughter ]

The fan wasn't arrested.

He was named Mayor of Boston. -Really?

[ Laughter and applause ] -Wow. Fantastic.

Check this out.

NASA says that they are retiring one of their spacecrafts,

and now it will just drift around the sun forever.

In response, people who just ate a bunch of Rasta Reese's

were like, "Hey, man, aren't we all just drifting

around the sun forever, right?"

And finally guys, as I mentioned,

the midterms are coming up, and Trump's been traveling to

as many states as possible to campaign.

He even recorded a personal message for every state

in the country.

We got our hands on some of the outtakes.

Here, take a look at this.

-My fellow Americans, the midterms are a week away,

so I want to tell each and every state how much they mean to me.

-Okay, Mr. President, up first is Alabama.

-That sounds too much like Obama. Next.

-But I -- -Next!

-Okay, how about Hawaii?

-Hawaii is a beautiful, beautiful country.

-Massachusetts. -God bless you.

-Oh, that wasn't a sneeze. That's the next state.

-What's the next state?

-Massachusetts. -Gesundheit.

-Oregon.

-You might not know this, but I'm an Oregon donor.

-What?

-I am an Oregon donor.

You can check the back of my driver's license.

-Sir, I don't think -- -I'm a hero, so...

-New Mexico.

-There's a New Mexico?

Isn't the old one bad enough? -No, sir, I don't think --

-Make New Mexico old again.

Put that on a hat.

-Oklahoma.

-I miss Oklahoma.

I wish I didn't have to fire her.

-Sir, that was Omarosa.

North Dakota.

-I love North Dakota.

They have Mount Rushmore.

-Oh, no, sir, that's South Dakota.

-I think that they should put arms on Mount Rushmore.

That would be a true wonder.

-I'm sorry, what?

-Arms!

-We have a great show tonight. Give it up for the Roots!

South Boston residents tight lipped after gangster Whitey Bulgers death US news

To some in his old neighborhood the Winter Hill gang boss was as a proud Irish-American, to others a killer and an informant

To some in his old neighborhood the Winter Hill gang boss was as a proud Irish-American, to others a killer and an informant

"Satan is waiting," said Tom, a white-haired man holding a Miller Lite at a South Boston bar on Tuesday. "That's all I've got to say."

He was responding to news of the death of the infamous Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger, found unresponsive at a West Virginia federal prison on Tuesday morning.

Bulger, 89, was killed in US Penitentiary Hazelton hours after being transferred from a prison in Florida, according to a statement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. His cause of death has not been released, but is being investigated as a homicide.

Two inmates are under investigation over the attack, including 51 year-old Fotios "Freddy" Geas, 51, a mafia hitman already serving a life sentence for murder, according to the Boston Globe.

Bulger was the Irish-American mob boss of the Winter Hill gang from the 1970s to the 1990s. A jury found him guilty of participating in 11 of 19 murders for which he faced charges in 1995. South Boston, or Southie as it is also known, is where Bulger established operations out of a liquor store.

In 1975, Bulger became an informant for John Connolly Jr, an FBI agent who was indicted in 1999 and convicted of racketeering, second-degree murder, and obstruction of justice from his relationship with Bulger and the Winter Hill gang.

In 1994, Connolly told Bulger that sealed indictments from the Department of Justice had come and that the FBI was set to arrest him around Christmas. Bulger fled.

He spent 16 years on the run as one of the 10 most wanted men in America, with a $2m reward on his head.

Bulger was captured in June 2011 living with his girlfriend Catherine Greig in a Santa Monica, California, apartment along with over $800,000 in cash and 30 firearms.

His 2013 trial in federal court ended with a sentence of two terms of life imprisonment for 11 murders, including the killing of Michael Donahue, who prosecutors said had been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Bulger called his trial "a sham", and wrote letters to friends and family professing his innocence.

On Monday, Donahue's widow, Patricia, told a local news station that she would like to "open up a champagne bottle and celebrate" Bulger's death.

"I think that there's one less scumbag on this earth," she told WBZ-TV. "That's how I feel."

But in Southie, there were mixed feelings over the gangster's death.

Bartender Kim Lynch said she was surprised to hear Bulger had died. "We thought he had been confined and that he couldn't go out into the general prison population." Lynch said. "A lot of people are sad, but a lot of people, like the victims, will be really happy."

On the other side of the bar, 28-year-Southie resident Mike Fagan said, "It's terrible to kill an 89-year-old man. No matter what he did."

The aesthetic of the neighborhood may be changing, with high rents and hipster coffee shops, but the tenor has not. Questions about Bulger and his time in the neighborhood were largely met with tight-lipped silence, with many residents refusing to give interviews or be named fully.

One man told the Guardian: "Whitey never forgot his Irish roots. He supported the struggle for the Irish faith against the British." He added, "I'm not gonna give you my name, but here's a tip. Look up 'Valhalla'."

The man was of course referencing Bulger's attempted weapons shipments to the Irish Republican Army in the 1980s.

"It's definitely a strange day," said John Shea. Shea, 53, is a former associate of Bulger's who was involved in his narcotics operations. He was indicted on cocaine trafficking charges in 1990 and served 12 years in prison.

There is no doubt in his mind that Bulger was murdered. "I predicted that if he was put in population anywhere, they're not gonna put up with a guy who is an informant." Bulger had been kept separate from the general prison population until this week throughout his incarceration.

Shea met Bulger when he was only 15. "He was like a father figure to me. I worked with him for a few years." He said that he tried to not have harsh feelings about Bulger, but that it was "a good day, and a sad day". Shea never accepted a plea deal to testify against his associates.

"We were taught to accept our lumps and mumps. It's a tight-knit neighborhood. You don't rat." Shea wrote the New York Times bestselling book, Rat Bastards; The Story of South Boston's Most Honorable Irish Mobster, about his experience in the Winter Hill gang.

Shea said he believes either mob connections or another inmate who "wants to be considered a legend and make a name for themselves", committed the murder.

The US attorney's office for the north district of West Virginia and the FBI will conduct an investigation into Bulger's death, according to US attorney William J Powell's office.

Mattis Makes It Clear the US is Serious About Guarding the Border - Duration: 1:06.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, Defense Secretary James Mattis made it clear that

the US military presence at the Mexican border was serious.

"We don't do stunts in this department, thank you," said General Mattis, when asked

if the deployment of thousands of military troops to the US-Mexico border was a political

stunt.

President Trump and the White House have stated that as many as 10,000 US troops may be dispatched

in response to the caravan of Central American migrants which is currently winding its way

through Mexico and headed for the United States.

The president stated on Wednesday that the military personnel would bolster numbers of

ICE, Border Patrol, and other law enforcement at the border in preparation for the arrival

of the migrants, who reportedly remain determined to enter the country.
