Sunshine, sand and sea - the pure definition of paradise. Relaxation,

adventures and memories to be made. At the turn of the new millennium,

a young woman finds herself stranded on a Jamaican Island. Making the most of the

unexpected trip, she visits the beach and bars, making friends along the way, only

to mysteriously vanish. With very few clues and a fairly neglectful

investigation. the fate which befell her remains unknown. Tonight on Dark

Curiosities, The Disappearance of Claudia Kirschhoch. The town of Negril in

Jamaica is a place many would call 'paradise'. Famous for its almost endless

stretch of sandy beaches and the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea, Negril also

boasts bustling resorts, delicious food, reggae music and enthusiastic townsfolk

who are known for greeting all visitors with a smile. For many tourists, it is an

enormously popular destination and remains on many travellers' wish lists.

Claudia Ann Kirschhoch was born on the 9th of February 1971 to Fred and Mary

Ann Kirschhoch and was raised in Morristown in the state of New Jersey. In

the mid-1990s, she spent seven months living in Paris, calling her family

frequently and she became a very seasoned traveller. In the year 2000, the

29 year old was working as an assistant editor for Frommer's Travel Guides,

located in Manhattan, New York City and in order to be closer to her workplace

she had moved into an apartment in Astoria, situated in the borough of

Queens. In May, Claudia was notified by her employers at last minute that she

was going to take a trip to Cuba as a guest of Jamaica's Sandals beach resort

chain for a press junket. On the morning of the 24th of May, on

route to their destination of Havana, Cuba,

Claudia and three other travel journalists were left stranded at

Montego Bay in Jamaica. A disappointed Claudia made a phone call to her

supervisor followed by a call to her parents, to inform them that the Sandals

chain had cancelled their plans to fly to Cuba

due to the unrest in the country and as it stood, they were currently no return

flights to New York available until the first of June. Her mother Mary Ann was

particularly relieved by this and when Claudia told her parents that the

company would let her stay for a week in Negril, they believed that they had no

reason to worry about their daughter. Claudia Kirschhoch and freelance writer,

Tania Grossinger, were rerouted to Sandals resort in Negril on the 25th of May/

During their stay, the pair dined together and talked over drinks in the

evening. They appeared to be having an enjoyable experience,

despite their trip having not gone as originally planned. According to Tania,

whilst drinking that night, Claudia became friendly with a bartender

at the resort - a man named Anthony Grant. The next day, Claudia revealed to Tania

that she and Anthony spent the night taking marijuana and went skinny-dipping

together. On the 27th of May, Tania Grossinger was able to book a

return flight to New York, departing later that day. She called Claudia at 8

a.m. and they had breakfast. Claudia told Tania of her plans to stay in Negril for

two more days, then go to Montego Bay and Kingston to search for rare reggae

albums. The duo shared an embrace and promised that they would meet up again

whenever Claudia returned to New York. Later that afternoon once Grossinger had

departed, a lifeguard by the beach witnessed Claudia walking along the

sands wearing a multicolored bikini and t-shirt. Later investigations would

suggest that she had a Walkman, a notepad, her sunglasses and the key to her room

at the resort in her possession whilst on the beach. This would be the last

sighting of Claudia Kirschhoch. Fred and Mary Ann Kirschhoch became

anxious when they failed to hear from their daughter by the 2nd of June.

Concerned by the fact Claudia was supposed to have returned home the

previous day yet had not, they called the resort. Security staff at the hotel

managed to enter her room and found that Claudia's belongings were still there. Minus

her bathing suit, her clothes were neatly packed in her luggage, her plane tickets,

passport, mobile phone, camera, 180 dollars in cash

and credit cards were secured in a safety deposit box.

Claudia Kirschhoch, however, was nowhere to be seen. In the days and weeks following,

authorities began investigating her disappearance further. The Negril Police

Department were criticized by many about how ill-equipped they were to take on

such a case and with developments in the initial search, this would to an extent

prove that point. The 29-year-old's belongings were taken from Claudia's

room to the managers office and the space was actually made available for

other guests to use. Without an extensive search of the room to collect potential

evidence, the negligence of the resort staff meant that the scene would more

than likely have been contaminated. Kirschhoch's mobile phone then mysteriously

vanished as did a logbook which recorded the license plates of all vehicles

entering and exiting the complex. Other anomalies included the fact that the

security camera footage situated near her room was inadvertently recorded over

and when staff developed the film on Claudia's camera, they reported that

there was nothing on it. Jamaican police searched the land and

sea yet there was no trace of Claudia. Some believed her to have accidentally

drowned however this contrasts to what authorities believe which is that the

tide wasn't particularly high and the currents weren't strong enough on that

day. Others said she disappeared of her own accord to live with a Jamaican lover

but her family - those who knew her best - strongly oppose this theory. Posters

were placed all over the island, offering a $50,000 reward for

information leading to her whereabouts and police received over 400 tips, yet

they were all fruitless. The eyes of suspicion soon fell upon Green Island

native, Anthony Grant, the popular bartender at the resort who had been

with Claudia. It was discovered that on the 28th of May - the day after Claudia

was last seen - he had called in sick and stayed out of work for a total of four

consecutive days. The FBI investigated further and brought in a search dog who

tracked Claudia's scent to Anthony's home. The dog traced her scent on a pair of

Grant's boots, gloves and a knife. A separate search was conducted and a

single strand of Claudia's hair was found in the back seat of his car and

the dog also found her scent in the back seat and the trunk of Anthony Grant's

white Toyota Corolla, as well as in nearby woodland. The seat covers in the car had

also been it replaced recently. Forensic analysis was carried out and it was

found that there was blood on the knife found at his residence

however the DNA tests were inconclusive. He participated in a polygraph test yet

the results for this were also inconclusive. When he was brought in for

questioning he initially denied ever knowing at Claudia yet he eventually

admitted that he lied and that he had gone on a date with her, although it was

against staff policy to interact this way with a guest, which is why he didn't

tell the truth in the beginning. Claudia's family suspect that Anthony

knows something about Claudia's disappearance. He had access to the CCTV,

the logbook, most likely Claudia's room and despite the evidence uncovered by

authorities and search dog, police do not consider Anthony Grant a suspect. The

media were criticized by the Kirschhoch family as the Jamaican tabloids called

her "an adventure seeker" who was more than likely responsible for her own

disappearance. Jamaican police halted their investigation and never pursued

the case further, despite the fact that Anthony Grant and Tania Grossinger's

statements contradicted each other. The family said that Jamaican authorities

were uncooperative in sharing the investigative file of the case with them.

On the topic of Claudia possibly still being alive, her father Fred is quoted as

saying, "We have to believe it." "We have no other choice but to feel she's alive."

Claudia Kirschhoch was declared legally dead

in 2002, despite no trace of her ever being found. The judge ruled that it was

highly unlikely that she vanished of her own volition and her family have had to

live with the agony of not knowing what happened to their daughter. Since her

disappearance, several sightings have been reported to the police

however they were never confirmed. There are many theories about what could have

happened to Claudia. Was she kidnapped? Did she drown? Was she

murdered? Could she still be alive? Sadly, we may never know the truth but we can

always hope that her family will one day get answers. As of October 2018, her

mysterious and unexplained disappearance remains unsolved.

Dark matter. Or what? - Duration: 14:27.

Today we will talk about dark matter.

We will talk about dark matter because I constantly see popular science articles overstating how

much we really know about it.

The truth is, we're still not sure that it actually exists.

Before I say anything else, I have to tell you what we mean when we say dark matter.

Dark matter is characterized by three properties.

First, you may think it's dark, but actually it's transparent.

It does not emit light, but also it does not absorb light, not at any frequency.

Second, it's matter.

If you have dark matter in a bag and you double the volume of the bag, then the energy-density

goes down to one half.

Now of course we don't have dark matter in bags, but the same holds for the expansion

of the universe: The energy-density of dark matter falls inversely with the volume.

This is not in general the case.

For example for radiation the energy-density falls faster than the inverse volume because

the frequencies also redshift.

Third, dark matter interacts weakly, both with itself and with other matter.

When physicists say "weakly interacting" they sometimes mean as weak as the weak nuclear

force.

But this is not what's meant here.

Dark matter interacts at least as weakly as the weak interaction but maybe weaker than

that.

And that's what we mean when we talk about dark matter.

So why do physicists think dark matter exists?

That's because it's a good explanation for a lot of observations that have been made

starting in the 1930s.

First, there are the galaxy clusters.

Galaxy clusters are collections of some hundreds of galaxies that are held together by their

own gravitational pull.

The higher the total mass in the cluster, the higher the average velocities of the galaxies

in the cluster.

Now it turns out that the observed mass is not high enough to explain the observed velocities.

The easiest way to fix this is to postulate that clusters contain large amounts of dark

matter.

Second, galaxies.

The story for the galaxies is similar to the story for the galaxy clusters.

If you plot the velocity as a function of the distance from the galactic center, then

– going by the known, normal mass only – you would expect the velocities to drop.

But this is not what we observe.

Instead the velocities become constant for stars far away from the galactic center.

This is what's known as a "flat rotation curve" and again dark matter is a simple

way to explain the observations.

Third, there is gravitational lensing.

According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, the force we call gravity is caused

by the curvature of space and time.

So mass curves space and light is deviated by the curvature.

This means that masses act like lenses and can focus light.

Just how strongly they will focus light depends on the amount of mass.

And gravitational lenses too tell us that normal mass alone is not sufficient to explain

the observations.

Then there is the cosmic microwave background.

That's radiation at an average temperature of about 3 Kelvin that comes from all directions.

It has its origin in the hot plasma in the early universe.

Around the average temperature of three Kelvin there are small temperature fluctuations that

correspond to spots that once where a little hotter or a little colder.

The number of spots of a certain size can be counted and you plot the number against

the size, you get what is known as the power spectrum of the cosmic microwave background.

The spectrum has a few peaks which correspond to spots of sizes that are a little more frequent

than others.

The important thing is that the relative height of the peaks depends on the amount of dark

matter.

Again the observations strongly speak for the presence of dark matter.

Fifth, there is structure formation.

As the universe expands, matter cools and it clumps and it begins to forms structures.

But when normal matter, when it clumps, builds up radiation pressure and that acts against

the clumping.

Dark matter, on the other hand interacts only weakly, and so it will not build up this pressure.

Dark matter therefore clumps more efficiently.

And Indeed it will then help the normal matter clump.

Without dark matter, the universe today wouldn't have sufficient structures.

These five different types of evidence for dark matter have the same origin.

As I said, general relativity tells us that matter curves space, and that curvature in

return tells the matter how to move.

This relation is captured by Einstein's field equations.

In these equations, on the one side you have the geometric quantities that describe the

curvature of space and time, on the other side you have all types of energy and mass.

And please notice that it's "Einstein's equations."

It's a plural.

It's not merely one equation, but actually ten different ones.

And if you solve those equations, then you know how the matter moves due to the curvature

of space and time that it itself causes.

What astrophysicists now do with their observations is to go and measure what matter there is

and how it moves and then they check whether it fulfils the equations.

And what all these observations tell us is that, no, it does not work.

It does not fulfill the equations.

And dark matter is a simple fix to make the two sides of the equations match again.

Now this may look like a pretty dumb thing to do because there is always some term that

you can add to make the two sides of the equations match again.

But the point is that dark matter is a particularly simple way to make it work.

Recall that I told you that Einstein's equations are actually ten different equations.

So correspondingly you need in general ten different components necessary to make two

sides of the equations match.

But for dark matter, you only need one.

And that one component you can define by one constant, for example the density of dark

matter today.

So, dark matter is a parametrically simple explanation.

It would be even simpler if it was a kind of particle that we know already, but unfortunately

that does not work.

From the known particles none really fit the bill.

They either interact with light, so they are not dark, or they do not clump enough in the

early universe.

We also know that dark matter cannot be some kind of dark stellar object like for example

black holes or brown dwarfs, because these would give rise to frequent gravitational

lensing and we have not seen this.

So we need something new, and most physicists think that dark matter is some new kind of

particle.

So, yes, dark matter is a simple explanation.

Or at least it used to be.

But in the last decades it has become clear that there are some observations which dark

matter can not so simply explain.

Dark matter, for example, turns out to result in density peaks in the center of galaxies,

which does not fit well with observations.

Structure formation with dark matter also predicts a large number of small galaxies

– the so-called dwarf galaxies – and those haven't been found.

The biggest problem with dark matter however is something it does not predict.

If you look at the stars in galaxies, you can use the observed velocity to calculate

the acceleration that must acting on the star to keep it in a stable orbit.

You can also go and calculate the acceleration that comes from the pull of the normal matter

only.

So you have two types of accelerations.

The one is the total acceleration, the other is the acceleration from the normal matter

only.

Now you can go and plot the data for those two types of accellerations against each other,

and you will find that they are strongly correlated.

you see this very nicely in this wonderful plot by McGaugh and his collaborators.

Now what this means is that if you tell me how much normal matter there is in a galaxy,

I can tell you how much dark matter there is.

If you think that is an independent component of the universe this does not make any sense.

You would expect a much larger variety in the data.

But There is not.

So that's a big mystery.

There is a pattern in the data and dark matter does not explain it.

At least it doesn't explain it in any simple way.

In the past 20 years, astrophysicists have tried to come up with computer simulations

that would reproduce galaxies that look like the ones we actually see.

These simulation are based on the dark matter hypothesis and for a long time it worked pretty

badly.

The galaxies that they got did not look like what we actually saw.

But in the past two decades they have improved the computer simulations a lot and they have

introduced new parameters, and now they can actually produce galaxies that look pretty

much like what we see.

Now that's not a prediction – because these simulations were made to reproduce what

we had already observed – but this removes the tension between the data and the hypothesis

of dark matter.

So everything is fine, or is it?

Now that's where it gets interesting because there is a an alternative explanation for

the pattern in the data, and that is modified gravity.

What is modified gravity?

You can have some fun asking physicists what is modified gravity.

The most common answer I get is, believe that or not, is that it's dark matter if you

add a term to this side of the equation and that it's modified gravity if you add a

term to that side of the equation.

Now that, of course, does not make any sense because you can always move the term from

this side of the equation to that side of the equation.

Now the somewhat more sophisticated answer is that it's modified gravity if you change

the function on this side of the equation.

But that's just not how modified gravity works.

Yes, there are some theories of modified gravity which work this way but these are not the

theories that we usually use to explain the observations that are commonly attributed

to dark matter.

Instead, modified gravity changes the force of gravity and it normally does so by introducing

additional forces or, to be more specific, by introducing new fields.

You have to do something of that sort because it's really hard to change anything about

Einstein's theory of general relativity.

Now quantum mechanics tells us that forces are mediated by particles so whenever you

introduce a new force you also introduce new particles.

Which brings up the question well, then what is the difference between particle dark matter

and modified gravity?

The difference between modified gravity and dark matter is that for dark matter the observations

are explained only by the gravitational pull of the new type of matter.

For modified gravity, on the other hand, the gravitational pull is not the same as Einstein

taught us or there is an additional force acting on the particles.

It's this additional force that helps to explain the observed patterns in the data.

This has been known since the 1980s, when Milgrom proposed his theory of Modified Newtonian

Dynamics which is also known as MOND.

MOND relates to modified gravity the same way that Newtonian Gravity relates to Einsteinian

gravity.

This means MOND is an approximation that works in some cases, but not in others.

Modified gravity is the complete theory that reproduces MOND in certain situations.

There are presently a few known such theories of modified gravity.

Modified gravity works well for the galaxies but not so well for the galaxy clusters and

the cosmic microwave background.

I know there are some people who want you to believe that modified gravity has been

ruled out by the Bullet Cluster but that's just wrong.

The bullet cluster is actually a collision of two galaxy clusters.

It's an interesting case because for this cluster we have different kinds of data.

We have on the one hand the emission of light at various frequency ranges which is shown

in red and this tells you where the normal mass is located.

On the other hand we have data from gravitational lensing which shown in blue, and this tells

you where the gravitational pull goes.

As you can see the two blobs are not in the same places.

The story now goes that this demonstrates that modified gravity must be wrong because

with modified gravity you would not be able to get the gravitational pull to go to a different

place than the center of the normal mass.

But that story is just not correct.

As I said, in modified gravity you introduce additional forces and you also introduce additional

particles.

And there is no reason that the gravitational pull, especially for a dynamical system like

the bullet cluster, should go to the same place as the normal matter.

On a more general level, the Bullet Cluster is a statistical outlier.

There are only two or three known clusters which collide at such high relative velocities.

Time-dependent systems like this are generally hard to model both with modified gravity and

dark matter.

Using the Bullet Cluster to rule out an explanation for a pattern in the data just does not make

any sense.

So the situation is that dark matter works better in some cases, and modified gravity

works better in other cases.

The big question is now what is overall the best explanation?

And we currently don't have a good answer to this.

The reason is that no one makes direct quantitative comparisons between two types of theories.

Indeed the right answer indeed may be a combination of the two, dark matter and modified gravity.

the Scriptures. If you've been watching the news lately and

It's pretty much impossible that anyone that listens to this program is not familiar with current events, but in the past several days

Chaos has erupted in America.

Well, I guess I need to qualify that - A deeper, darker, more horrible

Chaos has erupted in America in the last few days.

The light over this country has grown dim and as the darkness

Increases over this country, we're gonna see more and more heinous and horrible events take place.

In the last few days, we had a shooting in Pittsburgh. Eleven people died at a synagogue.

we also saw the

bombs that were sent out to several politicians and today I want to talk about it, because in addition to

These news events

There's also something else taking place, and it concerns all of you that are listening.

And because it concerns you, I want to ask that you please listen to this program in its entirety,

because I'm gonna share some things about the present weather. We're gonna look into the Scriptures.

It prophesied about what we're seeing right now, and the things that are taking place at the moment are gonna affect lives all over the world

if you live in America, they are especially going to affect you, because you're a resident of Babylon.

in addition to the political

developments and the

societal

developments or the societal deterioration

there's something else taking place in the invisible realm where we can't see. But the darkness that is coming over this land is

Bringing with it a very dark satanic

fog.

A disease, an epidemic of evil is coming with the darkness, and as that darkness flows over the land

from east to west

As it goes over the Rocky Mountains, as it covers, Texas, and the northern parts of the country. The darkness is

Bringing with it demonic entities that are affecting people

Now this was all prophesied in the Bible. Jesus told us about it.

We can find it in the Old Testament and in the New Testament and

The thing that's taking place right now is going to wreak havoc on the church, on God's remnant,

... and on those who are just warming the pews.

So whether someone is a benchwarmer in church...

...or if they are an "on-fire," remnant person after God's heart, it's gonna affect them as well.

So no matter where you are on the spectrum of

... victory in your Christianity and your walk with Jesus, the events taking place are going to affect you, my friends.

So I'm gonna talk about it

And I want to ask you to please focus and make it a point to listen to this message with effort.

Take notes. Get your Bible. Listen to it several times.

I'm gonna go into a lot of scriptures and I'm gonna explain some things that are happening now and that are approaching.

I'm gonna explain some things that you may already be experiencing or I want to bring this...

... message as a warning that - you may be experiencing in the future. Now ladies and gentlemen, I can't stress it enough

This message is so important

And here's why ... because the attack of evil that is coming with the darkness that's coming on shore over America ...

... is going to try its best

... Depending on where you are with God,

It's gonna try to either deceive you

It's gonna try to smother you with a blindness, and a stupor, so that you fall into the delusion that is over the land.

There is a delusion, a spiritual, evil delusion taking place, and it's gonna try to lobotomize you spiritually.

If it cannot delude you and cause you to be deceived,

.. it's gonna do something else, and here's why it's important that I tell you this folks,

... That we talked about this ... it's gonna try to get you to become depressed,

oppressed,

distraught, sad, and even suicidal!

The darkness that is coming over the land wants you to kill yourself. I'm speaking to the remnant of God right now.

I've been seeking God about this. I've been looking into the Scriptures. I have spoken to the Brethren.

I've spoken to some close friends that are seasoned in the Word of God, and they're noticing the same thing.

I talked to another friend on the phone just yesterday.

He told me the same thing. He has spoken to people that are suicidal. He's receiving emails from people that are suicidal.

I am receiving emails from people that are suicidal. I'm receiving private messages.

This thing is not normal, ladies and gentlemen.

There is a spirit that is bringing with it a blanket

It's a perilous blanket of darkness that brings with it an emotional...

... burden, and a spiritual burden, & a soul burden to crush God's people.

It wants to crush you. It wants to crush your husband or your wife, if you're married.

... your loved ones, your friends, your family you wants to crush ...

... those who love God. And if you love Jesus. If you're a member of His elect. If you are trying to walk in holiness,

... if you're following Jesus as your Shepherd, if you're trying to stay awake in the light,

... then there are demonic entities that want to crush you, and a lot of people are confused right now. They don't know what's going on

Some people are being blindsided by it. They weren't expecting it. They don't know what to make of it.

But this thing is so strong folks. We have to talk about it. We have to equip ourselves.

I want to see you get equipped in a manner that is able to face these things that I'm talking about.

So, please get your Bible, get a pen and paper and take notes.

Listen to this message several times, and if you know somebody ...

... brethren of the faith who are struggling right now, emotionally, in their soul ,and their in their walk,

... they don't understand what's going on, but they're experiencing something that have never faced before and you know about it,

... please share this message with them. Because for some people this is a matter of life and death.

... whether or not they succumb to the spirit of suicide.

There is a spirit of suicide in the air right now.

And you need to know about it, because it may at some point ...

... attack you, and if it doesn't attack you, it it may attack your loved ones.

So we need to do all we can to be aware of it and to be able to face it biblically

with the weapons, with the tools, with the faith that God has provided for us.

Now if some of you have been a Christian long enough, there's a chance that you grew up, you know

30 years ago, 20 years ago with the narrative

created by Hal Lindsey, and the narrative at that time was - there are signs taking place in Israel,

or there are signs taking place with some politician rising up, and then the rapture happens, and then the tribulation starts and it is

downhill from there.

But until the the narrative gets to the trigger that begins the tribulation,

Leading up to that - the events that lead up to the rapture in the old model ...

didn't really describe the atmosphere that would be taking place in America, in the air, in Europe, around the world.

It didn't describe the atmosphere of challenge of chaos of madness or insanity that would be taking place before

the rapture.

Now, I am NOT pre-trib in my belief

Because I don't find that in Scripture, I used to be...

... when I was first Saved, I was pre-trib.

But the whole time that I went to church, I grew up attending an Assembly of God Church.

I got saved at 17 in Pasadena, Texas.

I attended an Assembly of God Church, and then I went to Assembly of God Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas.

And then I switched over to Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.

Some of you are familiar with those schools. They were good schools at the time when I attended ...

Spirit-filled, Holy Ghost filled.

It was a great place for me to learn and to add to my knowledge. It was a good place to start.

But that was in the 80s.

Since then, for the remainder of the 80s and into the 90s,

So when you .... even in Matthew 24, the pre-trib rapture is not in Matthew 24.

So I struggled with this, and I wanted to understand it,

So for years and years through the nighties, and then the new millennium came

I knew in my heart of hearts - that something was missing - that the pre-trib rapture was not complete,

So I continued digging and then finally I understood it. It's in Revelation chapter 14

It says - the Son of man was in the cloud, took a sickle and He harvested the earth. Revelation 14! And then in Revelation 15 ...

... the bowl judgments start - the wrath - the vials.

so, the gathering of Jesus takes place before "the vials" & "the bowl judgments," but

everything previous

Since it happens in Revelation 14, that means that the seals and the trumpets take place with Christians on earth.

That's the Bible folks. That's what I find. Now. It's been about 15 years. I have begin understanding this

Now. I'm sure some of you out there may disagree with what I'm saying, and that's okay.

So, we can't argue with the Bible folks. The philosophies of men want to confuse this. They want to do biblical gymnastics.

But that's not fair to integrity. That's not fair to the truth. It's there in the scriptures

But we're just getting started if he's the guy we're just getting started because Jesus said a great deceptions coming in

Thessalonians, we see that God's going to send a strong delusion

We just read in Isaiah. There's gonna be great darkness gloom people will hunger in

Revelation 9 we see that the locusts are loosed on the earth

The locusts demon creatures are out there ravaging the earth

We look at Psalms 91 and it talks about the pestilence, you know

And then by night you have the destroyer walking in judgment, and we need to find the secret place of God

so there are entities the destroyer will be allowed to walk amongst us folks and

While he's doing this he's going to make war with you now. Here's where we are at the moment

We're at the beginning of this and as I'm trying to warn it's gonna get worse and this is what I want

But this is what I want to leave you with when we look at the words of Jesus, you know

You ever thought about that folks? Why what kind of question is that? Will he find faith on the earth? Why?

In order to explain it. I'm gonna use an example of

Comparing how it used to be if you've been a Christian long enough. I've been one for 35 years

I can remember how easy it was to be a Christian in the eighties. I remember how easy it was. It was great

It was easy to pray. It was easy to feel the presence of God

I'd go into my room and pray him and in five minutes. I was overwhelmed with the Unknowing of God

It was so beautiful that can go to church but God was there in my car

I had thrown a cassette with Keith green in Lord is my shepherd would start playing in 30 seconds

The anointing of God's in my car. It was great. It was easy you remember that folks?

You go to a church and worship and it was you left feeling just great clean pure the credit of the world fell off

But now have you noticed that it takes more efforts

I've been talking about this and I've mentioned it several times in the past

Because some of you have written me and said this to me

It takes more effort to break through or you can't break through it. All the heavens are brass

Your prayers are bouncing off the sea you can't feel god

It's harder and some of you are really getting concerned about this because you're wondering what are you doing wrong?

Where's God did he abandon you what happened?

Now I'm not trying to be discouraging but I hope that if you can get a hold of what I'm gonna say right now

It will help you

it will benefit you when Jesus said when the Son of Man comes will he find faith on the earth as a

Christian when a child of God faces a trial or something difficult they say a prayer God

I'm worried about losing my job and in the old days

I remember this you say a prayer and then the peace of God comes on you so that even though you're facing it you have

Peace still to go through it and it was easy getting that. Peace

So the thing that carried me and a lot of people and even you if you can remember this

the thing that

Supported you and held you up was the peace of God and if you have the peace of God

you can face anything right folks, but what if

What if you face the same trial and challenge without the peace of God would it have been as easy?

No

It wouldn't because by ourselves it's a lot more difficult the stress is there the peace of God takes away stress in

spite of the mountain and the obstacles

You know that you know that God's gonna be there because you can feel his presence of peace fast forward to now

I'm noticing that as the darkness has been coming over the country in

Incremental steps in 2012. I mentioned we had an event we turned the corner during the

campaign

2015 it got darker

2016 the election happened boy. Did it get dark and then now it is dark

It's dark. We're in the first few hours of darkness and a lot more hours remain folks

even days of darkness remain possibly months of darkness or years

We just entered this season and what I'm noticing is that a lot of individuals

Let me qualify who's facing to what now when we look into the Scriptures Jesus in Matthew 25. He talks about the ten virgins

Five were foolish five were wise

because five had their oil in their lamps and the others didn't

Why didn't they somehow they were influenced to think everything was okay?

and I consider those people to be the

dominionists New Apostolic Reformation nor Mark Taylor types that are telling their people that Dominion is going to be taken by the church and

There's going to be a renaissance with the church in America and it's going to be glowing and great

so there's a segment of the church that is being lied to right now and

Those people because they're hearing these lies are not going to have oil in their lamps and instead they are believing a delusion

So one hand is the foolish virgins. They will go to the marketplace

Oh, oh

I got to go get oil and they'll go get it and then they'll come

to the groom and start banging on the door and he'll say why didn't you have oil I never knew you I

Didn't even know you the whole time

So these are Christians who go to church and are pretending they're going to church for the wrong reason. They have a conversion

That's not real. They have an intellectual version of Christianity. It's not in their heart something their soul

It's not in their spirit the words are not from inside

They have not been sealed by God, and then you have the remnant who does have oil in their lamps

Now these two groups we see represented and talked about in parables in different ways by Jesus in the way

I just presented it's the

Virgin's ten virgins, but Jesus also talked about the wheat and the tares so in the field we have

Impostors and then the real ones again some are fakers now

he didn't tell us the ratio then but I

Venture to guess if we can use the same ratio as the Virgin's at least half of the planted wheat is not really wheat

They're gonna be bundled up and thrown into the fire

So we have that and then we have the other description of the sheep and the goats again. I never knew you

so in the camp of the evangelical church in America

We have people who call themselves evangelicals and they are

Promoting Donald Trump and they are dismissing the actions of Donald Trump who is behaving

Like we read in the scriptures of the Antichrist little horn

Proud boastful hater. I read it in 2nd Timothy chapter 3 all those things I read in the last days

They won't behave this way is how Donald Trump behaves so there is no way my friend if you're a Donald Trump supporter

according to Timothy those character traits are

Unacceptable in the eyes of God and if they are unacceptable it says turn away from these turn away

You're not supposed to marry light and dark oil and water. It doesn't mix. So if a person

Dismisses those things and is okay with them. Then I have to question their love for the truth

I have to question their love for the word of God and the

Amount of light that is in their heart as I read in Isaiah because they they go to wizards because there's no light in them

Nathan are you saying that I don't have a light because I believe in Donald Trump

I am saying that there's a lot of people supporting Donald Trump that are dismissing things prohibited in scripture proverbs

1612 says it is an abomination to Kings to commit wickedness for the throne is

established by righteousness

If a king commits wickedness, it's an abomination

Trump commits wickedness and the church is clapping. That's an abomination

proverbs 17:15 he that justifies the wicked and he that condemns the just

Even they both are an abomination to the Lord to justify the wicked is an abomination

To the Lord proverbs 17:15 and I get emails from people

Justifying the wickedness of Trump. They call me wicked and they condemn me for pointing it out

Well, I just read to you what God feels about it when people write me if you want to write me and gripe me out

because I am

Exposing Trump and pointing out that Trump is behaving wickedly. Let me read it again

He that justifies the wicked and condemns. The just is an abomination

So if you want to be an abomination to the Lord then go ahead and send me hate mail for pointing out the things Trump

Does go ahead God will record it in heaven your answer to him. This is the word of God folks

Why is it happening though in one hand?

The evangelicals are believing the Mark Taylor false prophecies that everything's great the hand that is believing

That is the hand that is following a delusion

Satan is going to make war with the Saints Satan's going to make war with the people of God or people who call themselves Christians

Satan has been given authority to make war with

Everybody now if you take all evangelicals whether they believe in Trump or not

all of them Satan is making war with them and Satan is going to attack portion of them with delusion and lies and

I believe ladies and gentlemen

Because Scripture proves it those nar kingdom now d meanest prophecies are part of the great delusion

Jesus said false prophets will rise up and deceive many they will say I am the Christ. I am following Christ

I am of Christ and deceived many. I am anointed they'll deceive many so you have deception

occurring to a portion of the flock and in the flock you may have sheep and goats, but the ones that do not

Value the scripture are being attacked with delusion because they had no love for the truth. They will believe a lie

So a portion of those who attend mega churches are believing lies right now. Now that's one portion. That's how Satan got him

He's deceived them. They're under a delusion

So when you talk to your friends and you try to understand

how can you follow him when he's so anathema to the Word of God when he is so

Contrary to what we know is right and wrong, how can you follow him?

and if they just look at you if they get mad or their eyes glaze over and they give you the

Excuse that well America is gonna be great great quote unquote and the mouth was speaking great things

So there's a delusion that isn't taking place in your friend

I don't know how else to say it if people cannot see the truth. They're under delusion folks. I'm using the scriptures a

portion of God's people are going to fall to

Delusion and that's what I believe is taking place with that portion. Now, what about the other hand the wise virgins?

What about them if you have oil in your lamp and if God is the most important thing to you?

You have not succumbed to this patriotic

Nationalistic fervor that is hypnotizing

well-meaning people if you have not succumbed to that and you are lamenting and

Weeping and crying over this mess of America

Then you're in the other hand and praise God you are however

There's another sort of attack that is striking the other side. The people that are against Trump are being attacked

But the attack is not in the same manner the attack is not with delusion

instead the attack is

Old-fashioned one on one oppression from demons that are bringing with them

Okay. Remember I mentioned perilous times will come evil will come

I'm arrested that folks those spirits that have come to Babylon Babylon's become a cage of demons

Those spirits are attacking God's people now with hopelessness

Because they see the darkness and I think there's a chance my friend that if you're listening to this message

You're a regular listener and you've been lamenting over what's been going on. There's a chance that you have been under the attack of oppression

depression discouragement

sadness hopelessness

Temptation to give up give up on your faith to give up on God

To just take the blue pill and go back and just go to sleep

Because it's just too overwhelming and then let me include the other one. There's a chance that

You have been hearing voices in your head or thoughts in your head telling you it's not worth it anymore

Why not just die it would be easier to just kill yourself

Thoughts of suicide

Demons are telling people this

Demons are telling God's remnant elect these thoughts

And I know it's true folks because I've been told I've been contacted I have spoken to so many people that are hearing these thoughts

They say Nathan. I hear the voice saying just kill yourself. It's not worth it and it makes no sense

I'm but I'm hearing it out of the blue. I hear it. And the reason that people are hearing this is because demon creatures are

fluttering about in the invisible realm and

They flutter to God's people to God's elect and they try to catch them in a moment when they are not there best

When they're tired when they're sick

when they're stressing

Discouraged and they'll land on their shoulder, you know, like a black invisible crow and they start whispering into their ear just kill yourself

This is not worth it. It's better to die

Ladies and gentlemen, I never thought I would see or experience a moment in time

Where the elect of God who loved God very much would consider suicide

I never thought it but it's happening right now. And the only way that this can be explained is to acknowledge

That we have entered the end times

We have entered a segment of time at the very end and we're watching Biblical prophecy. Take place

We are in the chapter of darkness and that darkness is not just dark where it feels gloomy

That darkness includes the creepy crawlers fluttering about that are the enemies of your soul and want to kill you

My friend if you've been having those thoughts you are being lied to it's not true

Now when we consider the virgins

Without their light and then the virgins with their light

the only way to be able to make sense of this mess and to navigate through it is

to have the light of God's Word and

to have an association and a closeness to them now when we look at revelation 12 the previous chapter it says

They overcame

Him the enemies Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony

They overcame Nathan. I don't know what to do

You need to overcome

How how do I do that?

by the blood number one first blood means

repentance you see if sin is not dealt with and we have closet sins or secret sins or

Compartmentalize sin or sin that we hide or having the bottom drawer or in the closet or wherever

Sin will open the door to these fluttering creatures. So step one my friend. What do we do we deal with sin

because then the devil does not have a foothold a stranglehold a

Stumbling block a reason to put a chain around your neck or your leg or your arm

repentance my friends

They overcame by the blood

Jesus washed me and I'm not just talking about words that that sound good and flowery

I'm talking about words from your heart where you are sick of that darkness that you have allowed in your life the sin

Where you're tired of participating in those things, so that's one of the steps and the other one is the word of their testimony

The word of our testimony is the word of God my friends. It's the Bible

We have to hide the Word of God in our hearts

David said thy word I have hid in my heart so that I do not sin against thee

The Word of God is our light the Word of God is our navigating compass. It's a rudder. It's our sail

It's our light

lights our path

It keeps us from believing lies. It keeps us out of delusion the Word of God

The Word of God is also our weapon its are sort of the spirits to say it is written Satan

No, I am NOT worthless because while I was yet a sinner to Christ died for me

God called me the Holy Spirit showed up

He met me because he cared about me and he saw that I was a soul that he died for

You are his creation of my friend. You're his workmanship created for good works in Christ

You have been called to come out of Egypt

To be his child. You have the right to call out to him Abba

Father

Rescue me, so

There are two types of warfare going on right now folks on one hand

We have the great delusion and we're watching it in real time. You see it in real time

So this thing ladies and gentlemen is a spiritual thing taking place and it's very dark

It's very powerful. It's very evil in the delusion side on the other side

If you are of the elect of God and you love Jesus

Satan has also been given authority to attack the Saints to wear down the Saints to make war with the Saints

We have what I mentioned the blood of the Lamb and the word the Bible, but meanwhile my friend meanwhile

I want you to know this that Satan does not want you to win. He wants you to lose your health your faith

He wants you to be discouraged he want you to give up

It is in those times

When a person gets to the point where they don't maybe you're sick and you know when you're sick or you're tired

You're sleepy or your health is challenging. It's not as easy to pray through it's not

Because praying through takes effort

So when you're feeling weary and drained and worn out and you can't pray then what do you have left?

what do you have to rely on and here's what it is folks the

foundation of

Survival and endurance is old fashioned faith

That's where you are determined you are committed even though you could say God

I don't feel you

But I know you're there and I'm just gonna believe I believe you're there

Because you said you would never leave me or forsake me and folks that kind of determination and commitment is what faith is

It's believing in what you can't see but you believe because you know that you know that you know

It's there that he's there that he's not gonna abandon you and no matter how dark it is. God

I'm having these thoughts of committing suicide god, I why I don't want to have that. I have been bought with a price

That's faith folks

old-fashioned faith and in the midst of darkness

Faith with the word of God faith comes by hearing and hearing comes from the Word of God

So you have to you must

read the scriptures and you must get a hold of the scriptures and hide them in your heart so that

Whenever you are discouraged, you can quote the Bible. You can open the Bible and read it and say god, I don't know

How are you gonna rescue me?

I don't know how I'm gonna get through this but your word here says this and you read it and you tell him God I

Just believe you're gonna do it. That's faith, my friend

so when we look at when I referenced a moment ago when the Son of Man returns to Earth

Will he find faith on the earth?

hiding themselves

At that rural farm in Nebraska or

That house in Wyoming

down in Arizona

in the middle of Texas

When he looks down there, will he find that person?

Endearing and hanging in there even though they're in pain

But he sees that they're still committed to him

And they say no matter what I'm not gonna fall for the ways of Babylon

self-destruction and suicide from the enemy god I ask you to just pull them out of the mire of heartache of

discouragement and

Show them that you are the answer. It's gonna be okay that they're not the only ones

That this is the season we're in God show them and reveal to them and encourage them

Give them victory

Bring them encouragement surround them with your angels and strengthen them with your spirit now. Thank you for that. God in Jesus name Amen

That is very important, but it's not easy to tell you my friends because well

There's a lot of people out there that don't like this ministry and some of them would probably be very happy to hear this information

But that's okay because the faithful listeners that are out there are part of the watchman's cry family

We've been through a lot together. I've had ups and downs in the past. I went through a fire a few years ago

I've had a few health issues and likewise

Donna has had her turn but through it all many of you have been there with us

You were with us to support us you were there to encourage you were there to offer?

remedies and you were there to offer your help many of you pitched in where you could and I appreciate that and

by doing so you have shown your love and your support it has also revealed that you believe in what we're doing so

I need to make an appeal. Once again. We need your help

And when I say we I mean Donna and I because some of our largest faithful supporters have gone somewhere else at the moment

And I say at the moment because I believe at some point when there's smoke on the horizon

They're gonna be back. They'll come back and I'm praying that God will open the eyes of his people

so I believe it's going to happen because things are on the horizon that are coming and it's gonna open a lot of ice and

But in the meantime our support is way down and because some of the good folks who used to love

Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories is Weird and Terrible - Duration: 25:18.

I was going to being this video with something along the lines of

"who remembers Yu-Gi-Oh!" but I'm not.

An intro like that would imply that this series has been dead or something

when in reality it's probably bigger than

it has ever been.

I say that as someone who has been away from the franchise

for at least most of, if not all of,

the past decade.

I remember as a kid tuning in to watch

the Pokémon anime,

but before each episode I would often catch the

tail end of an episode

of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.

I didn't catch much initially.

Mainly, unlike Pokémon,

which my sister also enjoyed and which my parents didn't mind us watching on the living room TV,

Yu-Gi-Oh! soon became what my mother referred to as

"that Japanese show with the weird hair where they scream about card games."

I find this to be a very accurate summary.

Like many things from when I was a child, though,

something having that nice combination of being marketed at

my age demographic

and also having this weird appeal of my

parents not really liking it, particularly my mother,

caused it to actually be vastly appealing to me.

I really got into Yu-Gi-Oh!

But in addition to getting into the series myself,

the series itself just became hugely popular

throughout my entire neighbourhood and indeed my elementary school.

It truly exploded, though, when I hit the second grade.

I was actually introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game

via the elementary school playground.

It became sort of an obsession.

Cards became a status symbol.

Those more than anything else.

At that point in my childhood, particularly during the second grade,

these were childhood friends I had known since before I was school age.

We were all addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh!

To be honest, by the time I got out of Yu-Gi-Oh!,

which was around 2008, mid way through Yu-Gi-Oh! GX,

I probably had at least a few thousand cards. No joke!

Y'know, I kind of regret selling them all at this point. I had all of the God cards.

I had all of the Sacred Beasts from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

I even had three of the five Exodia pieces!

Side note: unlike most friend groups

which were into collecting the cards but not playing the game,

my friend group as a kid was definitely into playing the game itself.

What helped this was, beginning my second grade year,

there was this one DVD that started floating around local Wal-Marts that

that actually taught you how to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game.

I swear it became a must own for every single kid!

Along with just being a nice, basic overview of the card game itself,

it also had copious references to the anime series which

I'm sure helped retain the attention of us seven and eight-year-olds!

Shockingly enough, the thing I was most oblivious to as a kid, Yu-Gi-Oh!-wise anyways,

were the numerous - and I mean numerous - video games based off the series.

The only one I ended up owning as a kid was Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul for Game Boy Advance.

I remember playing that a decent bit,

but I honestly don't remember much of the actual game content.

That honestly likely says a lot about the quality of the game itself

but that's besides the point because that's not the title we're looking at today.

Instead, we're looking at the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to be released in the west:

Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories was the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to ever be released...

in North America, anyways.

Yu-Gi-Oh! itself first appeared in 1996

as a manga that wasn't even focused on card games.

Instead, it followed teenager Yugi Muto,

who upon completing the Millenium Puzzle,

a strange ancient Egyptian artifact that had been discovered by his grandfather,

unleashes the soul of Pharaoh Atem,

who on occasion assumes control of Yugi's body,

forcing him to grow two feet taller,

and then challenges people to mysterious "shadow games",

in which their lives are put on the line.

Unlike the 4Kids version of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime,

in the early manga chapters, and indeed the Japanese-exclusive Toei Yu-Gi-Oh! adaption,

which ultimately preceded the anime that became super popular over here by two entire years,

the Pharaoh does some absolutely

horrendous, wretched stuff.

Admittedly, this is to people who probably had it coming.

Like, look at this here

where the Pharaoh sets a man on fire for losing a Shadow Game!

Wow that's screwed up!

Eventually though,

the manga and anime introduced a card game.

While originally known as "Magic and Wizards",

it was later renamed in-universe to "Duel Monsters".

This would serve as the basis for the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game itself.

This would, as is evident by this point,

go on to be absolutely massive.

As for video games, the first one of these to be released was

Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule: Breed and Battle for the Playstation 1

exclusively in Japan in July 1998.

This was more of a monster breeding game than a card game, uh, game

but was followed in December of that year by

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters for the original Game Boy.

This was also Japanese exclusive.

The confusing bit comes the following year in 1999.

In July of that year,

the second handheld game was released:

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories.

Despite having a similar name to the game we're looking at today,

this one was actually also Japanese exclusive.

Mind blowing, I know.

But then in December of that year,

Japan also got Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories for the PS1!

The game in-question today wasn't even released until 2000,

where it was known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters III: Tri-Holy God Advent!

However, when the franchise's video games would finally make their way to the western world in 2002,

this would be renamed in the west to Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories.

This was despite being a sequel to the game that actually had that name in Japan!

Thus, this would make it the first game in the franchise to see a western release,

upon coming out on 18 March 2002.

Then, it would be followed by the western version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories on PS1

literally two days later.

The first of the Game Boy Advance games,

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul

would be released only a little over six months later in North America.

As you can see, a lot of games based off Yu-Gi-Oh! were released in quick succession.

But y'now what, rushed release or not,

is Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories,

the North American Game Boy Color game

that's actually Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters III: Tri-Holy God Advent in Japan,

worth your time and is it any fun?

Well let's find out.

- [PHARAOH] Welcome to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories!

Before you start, input your duel name.

This will be the name you use while dueling

as card games are only acceptable when played anonymously.

Now if you excuse me, I must go.

Technically, I'm not even in this game after this.

I'm only available as a secret duel in the post game!

And they still put me on the box! Haha!

- [JAMES] The game honestly opens just like that.

You're presented with all of these options here

but they honestly all mostly mean nothing when you start.

You have a basic deck and need to get better cards, and in this game

you earn cards by winning duels.

Unlike the first Pokémon Trading Card Game video game,

which was released in 1998 for the Game Boy Color

and had its own unique RPG style adventure,

and will also be my main source of comparison for this title,

as I played that game an absolute ton as a kid,

Dark Duel Stories instead features you,

as a silent, faceless protagonist

as you play card games with various characters

from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and manga series.

You get this Mega Man style stage select screen

and get to choose who you take on first in a duel.

To start off, let's begin with fan favourite side character

Joey Wheeler.

- [JOEY] Ay it's ya boy Joey.

I'm the school's second best duelist!

If you want to face the best,

you'll have to get through me and my inadequacy issues first!

- [JAMES] So I jumped into my first duel with Joey

and I realised something crucial here:

to win at this game,

I was going to have to once again

get familiar with the inner workings of the

Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

Thankfully, the in-depth how-to DVD that I mentioned earlier

was ripped years ago and is now easily available free-to-watch on YouTube!

Despite how it looks,

the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, even in Dark Duel Stories,

is a little bit more complex than just magical Uno.

At the beginning of each game,

a player is randomly selected to go first

and each of the two players draw five cards.

Small note:

it's literally completely random and I have no idea how it's decided who goes first.

Pokémon TCG on the Game Boy

at least had a little coin flip at the beginning of each card game.

Unfortunately, nothing of that sort is present here.

However, from here,

you can summon monsters to the field in either attack mode or defense mode.

What mode you summon your monsters in

may be more viable depending on their attack points and defense points.

Though you can't attack on your first turn,

in subsequent turns,

your opponent will try to destroy your monsters

to try to take down your life points to "zero".

Damage happens if they either attack you directly

if you have no monsters on the field,

or if they attack one of your monsters

and their monster's attack points are higher than your monster's attack points.

At this point, your monster is sent to the Graveyard,

or I guess "GY" as it's called now,

and removed from play.

Then you receive damage to your life points.

This is unless it was in defense mode, in which case the monster is still destroyed

but your life points take zero damage.

There's also numerous spell and trap cards.

These can be set and activated

at numerous times throughout the match to cause effects to you or your opponent,

such as Pot of Greed here...

whatever that does.

Also, not all monsters can be directly summoned to the field.

Instead, each monster is given a level.

If their level is five or higher,

you will have to "tribute" and remove a monster or two of yours from play

in order to summon them.

Also, some monsters have special abilities and effects that you can activate

while they are in play.

Furthermore, some monsters can be fused together

using a card such as Polymerization

to create a fusion monster,

except said card doesn't exist in this video game

so it has its own arbitrary fusion summoning system in place

that I never figured out.

Oh, and some cards also outright

behave completely differently in this game than in the actual card game

and it's kind of a mess.

Well, perhaps mess isn't the best way to describe it

but it's certainly confusing.

I mean holy crap I was a smart kid

because this isn't as easy as I remember it being.

To use the Pokémon example again,

in that title there were tutorials built into the game

that would actually teach you

the basic mechanics of the card game itself.

These were helpful.

Not only did these teach me as a kid how to play that card game within the video game,

but it also taught me the mechanics of the actual card game itself.

These actually helped me get into playing that!

Going back to tutorials themselves though,

Dark Duel Stories has nothing of that sort.

You have to do outside research

and that may not even prepare you for the changes this game makes

to the literal card game it's based off of!

Perhaps this could be forgiven if the game had a sense of flow and speed to it,

but it doesn't.

To put it bluntly,

Dark Duel Stories is very slow and very janky.

Card games all take place on this white background,

and despite the cards themselves having art that is

very well done and reminiscent of their actual designs,

there is little to no movement throughout the duels.

If you use a card such as, say, "Mountain",

the field does not get a mountainous background.

If you attack your opponent using a monster of your own that has a sword or a lance,

you don't see a slice effect on your opponent!

Honestly, these duels have about as much flow and flair

as an actual card game.

I know some might praise this and be like

"oh it's more faithful to the card game itself"

but do I really need realism in my

magical monster fighting children's card game?

So we finally beat Joey using our crappy starter deck, and trust me,

it's quite crappy.

But then we're greeted by Téa.

Y'know, one of like

three female characters from the anime?

- [TEA] You won so you get a card part!

You also get Pot of Greed,

whatever that does.

- [JAMES] So let me stress this:

it's one singular trading card.

Not a pack of cards, mind you.

One singular trading card!

This is all you've got.

At least we finally beat Joey, though.

From here we can finally play around with deck building and modification.

Everything is organized into these list based menus

and this is particularly terrible

whenever you try to build a new deck.

Cards seem to be in a random order

and can't be sorted by card type or, well, alphabetically.

Furthermore, there is randomly thirty

empty pages in the deck builder

that seemed pointless to me

until I realized what the card parts actually did.

After awhile, and I mean a long while of playing the game,

you will eventually get enough card parts

to use this equally clunky and unintuitive

card builder tool

to make some of the most powerful cards in the game.

Again, no instruction is given on this

and while I'm sure if I had this game's instruction manual

it might explain this a bit in-depth,

let me remind you that this game's main competition

had a video game

that had the option to have stuff like this explained

two years before this was released!

The only way to get better cards during normal gameplay

is to defeat the various duelists in the game.

The cards you get are completely random and range from great to Kuriboh.

However, unless you want to grind against a piss-easy duelist

such as Tristan for a few hours-

- [TRISTAN] I'm grind fodder!

- [JAMES] The easiest way to get new cards

is by using the game's password system.

Now, I have no idea how you'd find out about any of this when this game first came out.

I know a lot of people

had the internet by 2002,

but not everyone!

Regardless, I'm now lucky enough

to live in the modern day,

and despite all of the issues that the modern world has,

was still have GameFAQs

and with that,

a list of all the hundreds of different passwords

you can use within this game.

But what do they do?

Well, the first password you should use

while playing this game, if you ever feel like playing it,

is the one that unlocks Yugi's grandpa.

Grandpa was just a small side character

who runs a card shop in the anime,

but here he functions as a second Téa.

This means that upon beating any duelist

you'll be given two card parts and two new trading cards.

In addition to this,

if and when you beat the game, and I mean "IF",

and we'll get into that later,

you can use the password system

to unlock additional duels against characters from the show and manga.

These are characters such as, y'know, Marik

or the Pharaoh.

He's on the game box, y'know.

Yet, this is the only way you can actually duel him.

However, you can also get almost every

single card in the game through passwords.

The caveat, of course,

is you can only get one of each card for each password.

This means that if there are any cards you want to include

multiples of in your forty card deck,

well, happy grinding!

That reminds me, in order to progress through this game's

rough semblance of something that could be called a "story"

you have to take on each duelist

five

times.

And win, of course.

After the first initial duels,

NPC dialogue doesn't really change much.

For example, in all subsequent duels with Joey,

he says this:

- [JOEY] I've got no intention of losing!

Not until I'm sure I'm the best

or at least somewhat decent!

- [JAMES] And I think now I should also mention

that most of the footage you're looking at right now

has been sped up.

This is because, holy crap, this game is

slooooooooow!

But anyways, after an eternity,

we finally beat Joey

five separate times!

We are then given a nugget along these lines:

- [JOEY] One day I'm gonna be the best...

and I'll duel until that day comes!

- [JAMES] So anyways, you continue through the game

and it tries to cover various bits from the anime and manga story.

The first batch of duelists is based off the Duelist Kingdom arc from the

first anime season.

Despite this, Maximillion Pegasus,

who was the big bad there,

is nowhere to be found.

After beating each of these guys FIVE TIMES,

we move on to the next section,

which covers the Battle City arc from the second and third seasons of the anime.

It is here, of course,

where we meet fan favourite egocentric billionaire

Seto Kaiba.

- [KAIBA] I'm Seto Kaiba,

president of the Kaiba Corporation

and a level above your standard duelist.

I'm afraid this is the end of your winning streak.

- [JAMES] Oddly enough, with how Kaiba is positioned on the character select screen,

you can tell he's intended as some sort of boss duel, though,

honestly, compared to some of the duels that came before him

he's not that bad.

Who was a real pain here, though,

especially when I tried to play this game before I knew about the password system,

was this guy.

This stupid,

magician

clown

dude

who wasn't even important enough

in the grand scheme of things for me to even remember his name!

However, he had a deck built around the Dark Magician card.

This is funny, seeing as this is Yugi's,

y'know the main character of the show and manga, main card.

But y'know, when I actually duelled Yugi earlier in the game,

he didn't even manage to summon it!

But anyways, this guy who uses Dark Magician

kicked my ass.

However, he also had some of the most interesting

dialogue in the game once I beat him.

Well, y'know, for the FIFTH TIME!

- [ARKANA] Pressure! I just love pressure!

You think you've won? Idiot!

Every magician has got an escape!

In fact, I...my dear...MARIK!

- [MARIK] I...hate excuses! You know the rule!

You lose, you pay!

There's no excuse!

- [JAMES] That! You hear that?

That actually got me a bit excited.

Marik was one of the major villains from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime

and was one of my favourite characters,

especially with the more childish portrayal he was given in

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series.

I was pumped to duel Marik.

It's just a shame that, much like I mentioned earlier and as is also the case with the Pharaoh,

he's locked behind a password

that can only be used if/when you beat the game.

So you go and beat each of these duelists five times

and then you go on to...ancient Egypt?

Okay.

These duels are definitely more annoying than the ones that preceded them, but

honestly they're just more of the same.

I could talk about how the difficulty seems to have hugely spiked somewhere around here,

but also honestly,

the game itself by now has just become so repetitive

what with the mostly static presentation,

that I've become numb to it by this point

and was only playing through sheer willpower

to make a hopefully entertaining review.

Also, I don't know who half of these people are!

I know her.

She was in the anime.

And him, who's just Kaiba's ancient Egyptian recolour, also from the anime.

- [PRIEST SETO] I'm an original character. Do not steal.

- [JAMES] Finally, after much perseverance,

I finally get past these four and reach the final boss of the game!

But I wonder, who do YOU think is the final boss of the game?

For all of you Yu-Gi-Oh! fans out there!

Well, we already know it's not Pegasus or Marik.

Nor is it you, helping Yugi fight the

Pharaoh to reconcile the fact that he's

been constantly possessed on occasion

by a three thousand-year-old dead guy

in order to play card games!

Honestly, the most logical big bad here seems to be Bakura,

who if you watch either of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime adaptions

ended up being the end-all be-all final encounter of the series.

However, as far as I can tell,

he's not even in this game and it's...

this...dude.

- [DARKNITE] Ha ha ha!

It was I all along who was...

playing card games.

Why am I the end game final boss?

What was I even doing?

I assume that I'm somehow evil.

Is this part of the game still in ancient Egypt?

Does this have something to do with the pyramids being built by slaves?

- [JAMES] I'm completely baffled!

This game hardly had any story

and this even still managed to come out of nowhere!

I honestly don't remember HIM

from anything pertaining to Yu-Gi-Oh!

That really doesn't matter, though, because

he's a cheating S.O.B.

Well, technically anyways.

Darknite's deck has a few major gimmicks.

Obviously he has some super powerful monsters and spell cards,

such as Raigeki, which destroys all monsters on your opponent's side of the field, and which

you'll usually find at least one of in most actual high level Yu-Gi-Oh! decks,

but Fortnite also abuses

two of the most powerful spell cards in the game.

These are Swords of Revealing Light and Change of Heart.

Now, before I go on,

I need to mention that, yes,

you can get each of these cards yourself. I got one of each by using the password feature!

However, even if you had a maximum of four of each of these

you could still potentially not be able to use them due to one of the most arbitrary additions to this game:

the deck levelling system.

Your character begins this game at some really low level.

Some cards are restricted based on your duelist level, such as Pot of Greed or Change of Heart.

However, each card also has a certain number of points allotted to it

and your deck can't have over a certain amount of points.

Even at the maximum level that you can achieve in this game,

which is two hundred and fifty five,

some deck combinations are still impossible.

So, Swords of Revealing Light and Change of Heart

are two of the best cards in the game.

Also, it is unlikely that you,

like Darknite here,

will be able to have the maximum number of them in your deck.

Swords of Revealing light has a simple yet powerful effect.

Once played, your opponent can not attack you for three turns.

This means that unless you have a damage dealing spell or trap card,

your opponent is immune from damage.

In addition to this, in Dark Duel Stories at least,

the effects of this card stack,

meaning that in the absolute worst case scenario

Darknite will have you immobilized from attacking him

for a maximum of twelve turns!

This is way more than is necessary for him

to kick your sorry ass to the curb.

But let's say Darknite here doesn't manage to pull off Swords of Revealing Light,

or he does but you still manage to get some good draws

and summon your strongest possible monsters to the field.

You'll be safe with something with more than three thousand attack or defense points, right?

Wrong.

Change of Heart is the card that he uses to add

insult to injury.

This card allows you to take control of one of your opponents monsters.

Not as in "oh! they get to attack you with it for one turn!"

but as in this is their's now

to do whatever they want with

for the rest of the game.

So let's say you get your strongest dang monster onto the field

and that you feel confident about surviving Darknite's attacks.

Well think again, buddy!

Because with just one card

he can turn one of your biggest defenders

into one of your worst nightmares.

Ideally, of course,

you'll have other cards to protect you

but believing in the heart of the cards

doesn't work as well as the show would leave you to believe.

With this in mind,

it's no wonder that I, after countless deck rebuilds

and hundreds upon hundreds of battles,

never beat this guy and ultimately just gave up.

It was at this point that I had a choice to make:

do I continue on with this mind numbing card game video game?

Or do I concede defeat and go back to living a productive,

healthy, normal life,

or at least as close to one of those as a YouTuber can have.

I chose the latter.

So overall, how is Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories for Game Boy Color?

Well, I can't speak for its multiplayer features

as, mainly because whenever I tried asking friends

"Hey! Do you want to play a Yu-Gi-Oh! game with me?"

they assumed I meant I wanted to play an actual card game.

But, as far as the single player experience goes,

it's lacklustre at best and wretchedly awful at the worst.

Between the bland presentation,

snail's pace flow,

cheap duels,

a soundtrack so forgettable that this is the only mention I'm giving it,

and a disregard for the rules of the actual card game

that this is based on and comprises 95% of any and all gameplay within this title...

it's not a good time.

If you're a diehard Yu-Gi-Oh! collector,

sure, buy this game for collector's purposes.

But then again, if you're a diehard Yu-Gi-Oh! fan or collector,

you likely already own it.

My copy right here cost me

$5 at a local retro game store,

and keep in mind that I live in Canada,

so that $5 is like, what,

$3.50 American?

As for anyone else who thinks this game might look interesting

or wants some sort of way to

well, I guess, experience the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game in a digital form,

don't buy this.

Not even for nostalgia purposes.

It's bad!

Buyer beware!

It's not a good time.

You're better off playing either that PS4 or mobile game

that I keep hearing a lot of great stuff about.

I'll be honest, if you want the most fun possible from a trading card game video game

and it doesn't matter what card game it is,

player either one of the two Pokémon TCG games on Game Boy Color.

However, this game is a trainwreck.

But, perhaps it's so bad that it's scary.

That makes it fitting, then, that this is my Halloween special.

I have no qualms saying I gave up on this title. I mean,

it's just a video game and, y'know,

I had fun talking about Yu-Gi-Oh! and

reminiscing about it and maybe this review,

even if this game wasn't great,

maybe it's going to get me back into the franchise!

Besides, not winning at a virtual card game isn't

going to kill me or anything, right?

Like what's it going to do?

Send my soul to the PG version of Hell? Ha ha!

Dark Souls 2 True Pacifist Run [18] - Respec - Duration: 13:57.

My friends,

fellow feeble cursed ones,

my name is Sol, also known as SolTheCleric and welcome

to episode 18 of my True Pacifist Run of Dark Souls 2 Vanilla.

This episode is going to be (almost entirely) dedicated

to character build optimization in order increase our chances of survival

in some of the most difficult boss fights coming up in the final part of this challenge

run

and, in the last part of this episode we'll finally further the questline of Benhart of

Jugo

in order to make him summonable for the Giant Lord bossfight.

So as you just saw here, I just bought two parts of equipment that aren't really that

useful at all for my build

and this is pretty much only to make Maughlin rich enough to start to sell our main set

of equipment:

Vestaldt's armor.

We're gonna have come back for it later though.

Now's the time to have a chat with Straid...

So Sacred Oath here is the strongest buff available in the game,

rasing both the attack and defense stats of our character and of any NPC nearby.

And I'm gonna use it on Benhart quite a lot.

So the next step now is to gather all of the Twinkling Titanite shards that I uhm...

actually forgot to get the first time around...

So the first one is located in a chest here in the Shrine of Amana.

That was easy enough.

The next one is the Shaded Woods.

Let's go and get it.

Ow.

Please don't petrify me.

The third one is located in the infamous poison dart room of Drangleic Castle.

Ugh.

My head.

And that's another one...

Ok the last one is actually a Titanite Chunk in Tseldora...

Nothing complicated.

And here is one of the few occasions where I can use Fall Control

to avoid falling damage completely.

It's always nice to see how the Gravity God can be defeated so easily in Dark Souls 2...

Ugh that's a baby jump.

Ok don't worry: everything's fine.

Uhm...

Ok Gravity God: I get it.

I'm sorry.

I won't dare to defy you again.

Promised.

Ok time to buy and upgrade our shiny new armor.

Just look how smug he is.

Ok maybe I've been a little to hard on him: Maughlin is actually more useful in this run

than in most other challenge runs.

Still mostly useless yes, but at least he tried a little bit more this time.

Ok let's upgrade our new stuff.

Very good, now's the time to get back where it all started to take advantage of

a nifty gameplay mechanic introduced to the series by this title:

I'm talking about the ability to "respec".

Thanks to the Soul Vessel that I got in the Undead Crypt,

I can now better reallocate my stat points.

Specifically, since I have no use for the Channeller Trident anymore,

I'm gonna reallocate all the points that I previously wasted in dex

into other stats as I no longer need them.

Let's get rid of this sin right away.

Somewhere up there, Bishop Havel is nodding in approval.

Also talking to Strawen at this point in the game,

grants me 6 Human Effigies Which not bad at all I guess.

Very good.

And this is our final fashion setup.

Ok.

Time to meet Benhart.

So, in a normal playthrough, Benhart is only accessible here after defeating the Pursuer.

And, in the "Scholar of the First Sin" version, I could have used Ruined Alfis here

to defeat this boss for me but, since we can't do that in Vanilla,

I'm gonna have to use glitches to skip the next boss.

This can be done in multiple ways:

you can either use a certain glitch to despawn the boss or even use a kind of a ridiculous

superjump

based on the parrywalking glitch.

But here I decided to do it my way and take the panoramic route.

You'll see what I mean in a moment.

There we go: welcome to Dark Souls 2 Old Patch.

Speaking to him here, is still not enough though as we're also gonna have to do it in

the Memory of Orro

【Glow In The Dark Moon】 1st Time Trying UV Resin ♥ (Eng/Esp) - Duration: 7:01.

Hi! I'm Cori from Koori Style.

Today I've a new video for you which is kind of a test.

I'll be using this resin mold I bought at Daiso,

and the UV resin I bought at a Can ★ Do store.

This is my 1st time trying UV resin,

I'll use the moon shape and I'm gonna make it glow in the dark :3

And to protect the desk I'll place a small cardboard here.

I'll also be using these decoration I made out of Sculpey.

First I'll make a layer with resin and the Sculpey decorations.

I read a good way to remove bubbles in the resin is to use a heat gun like this one.

Now I'll be using a small UV lamp to cure the resin layer.

I've this one but after making this video I found out it's 'weak' for this purpose.

This one is around 5w~9w and I needed something stronger ^.^;

I used the light for around 5~6 minutes before continuing with the second layer.

For this layer I mixed a little bit of fluorescent paint and resin.

Placed it into the mold and curated it for another 5~6 minutes.

I will also use this mold from Tokyu Hands to make the charm base where the strap loop is gonna be :)

For this I'll also use the lamp 5~6 minutes until it's cured.

The small piece was almost cured with my lamp I just left it 5 more minutes.

But~ the moon was still sticky so I had to remove it from the mold and use the lamp 15min to cure the top layer.

hehe here I made a paper cone so I didn't had to hold the lamp. The smaller piece is almost done.

At the back of the moon I added an extra resin layer because the top layer was kind of 'flat'.

And placed the UV lamp for another 10 minutes.

While it cures I'm gonna work on the decoration for the phone strap.

I'll use some plastic decoration and this jewelry wire... (don't know the name XD)

I'm just adding the decorations trying to keep a balance of the colors ♥.

Using tweezers I closed the top of the wire so I could add the "charm loop".

Then I added the decorated piece into the phone strap and now we have 50% of the DIY done ;3

The moon is cured! I'll just add it into the strap with the decoration.

And it glows in the dark ^.^/

Before finishing, this was my 1st time with UV resin

I made many mistakes but I also learned a lot ^^

My biggest mistake was using a low wattage(?) lamp

but~ I ordered a better lamp so I can make a "2nd try" hehe

After letting the moon to dry for a full extra day it looks perfect.

On the video it was still sticky but I really liked the final result :)

Next time I'll just learn from my mistakes ^^
