Auto news on Youtube Jun 2 2018

Hey guys,

So, you're about to watch an episode from my Self-Improvement Dark Mode series.

We're showing this intro at the beginning of every episode,

so if you've already seen it,

you already know what Self-Improvement Dark Mode is,

skip ahead.

My goal with the series is to show how we can accomplish amazing things

if we put all of our focus and energy into them.

It's called Dark Mode because I'm effectively going dark.

I'm not talking to friends or family,

not engaging in social media,

and not going out.

I'm basically not doing anything that isn't directly facilitating the acquisition,

the manifestation of my stated goals.

And I will do this every single day.

I will not stop until I have accomplished my goals.

I will die before I don't accomplish them.

I have four very difficult goals that I've set for myself:

First is my occupational goal.

I want to successfully launch a brand new corporate website,

and I also want to create 20 extremely high-quality videos for our blog and marketing

My expressive goal.

I want to dance one complete song of salsa at the same level of energy.

I know that sounds easy but it's extremely difficult;

even some of the highest level dancers aren't capable of doing that.

My physical goal.

I want to be able to complete five reps of

225 pounds benchpress,

325 pound deadlift and,

245 pounds squats.

Those all represent personal records for me,

and I have to achieve these goals, remaining lean.

And then my fourth goal,

is with Nelson Quest, my youtube channel.

I want to get to 10,000 subscribers organically.

let's go ahead and get into the episode.

Welcome to day one of Dark Mode.

Maybe let's do a a quick progress check so you can see where the body's at.

now that we're officially starting.

I mean like, it's just going to get better from here.

So I think I did a pretty good job last week.

I think I have my diet stuff down.

I think I have my diet stuff down.

I just feel really good, really good energy

Let's adjust that a little bit.

I don't really know how to flex so...-

Whatever, you see my body.

I don't think I need to do much more.

but it's just going to get better from here.

Anyway, body's looking pretty good, I think,

I actually feel bloated.

I think this is actually worse than what it could look right now.

but yeah, we'll check back again,

maybe in another week.

see how things are going.

But it should only get better.

I should actually only get stronger and leaner from here.

Alright guys, so to reach some of my strength goals,

I'm going to have to basically play around a little bit.

I'm going to have to implement everything that I know.

And so, today's technically a rest day,

but what I'm going to do during my rest days is,

I'm going to try to stimulate more growth hormone,

I'm going to do that with high-intensity training in a fasted state.

So I'm going to do 50 cycles of what are called Tabata Training.

Tabata is 20 seconds on, full intensity, ten seconds off.

I'm going to alternate between three things,

One is this stationary bike,

which is really great for everything thighs up.

One is this exercise ball that I'm sitting on,

And this is, well....-

Today it's mainly a core day.

I don't want fatigue the muscles that I'm trying to get stronger at.

I just want to do really high-intensity training to promote growth hormone.

So, anyway...-

I'm done.

Got to get home,

hit the sauna,

get that growth hormone nice and boosted.

Isn't that rain?

Hey guys,

so seeing that this is the first episode of Dark Mode,

I think one of the first things that we need to talk about,

this is really one of the most important things,

that if you want to self-actualize,

if you want to develop the capacity to look within yourself,

and that's a capacity that's very difficult to develop.

i think one of the first things, one of the first abilities you have to develop

one of the things that was personally most helpful to me,

going inward,

was understanding the outside.

Really understanding the outside.

And I think one of the most important things to understand when it comes to the external,

I think one of the most important abilities to perceive things that you can develop is

the ability to perceive and understand how everything external to you

is, basically, designed to turn you into a consumer.

Capitalism, from the moment you are born,

is designed to just make you a better and better consumer.

Make you better at consuming things.

Make no mistake,

I'm not against capitalism.

Truthfully, I haven't given a lot of thought to which economic system I think would be best,

because I like to try to focus on the things that i can control;

I live within a consumer capitalist society,

and so, I have given a lot of thought to the natural evolution of that,

and how the evolution, specifically of capitalism,

more and more, works to turn us into consumers.

This is very much like The Matrix:

where there's like a blue pill and a red pill

And so, and by the way, there are benefits to either.

There are benefits to just taking the blue pill,

Reality, going within yourself,

is very scary.

You will feel depressed.

you will have to confront emotions that, on the blue pill, you typically try to,

or you're taught to run away from;

or use pills to treat.

With the red pill, you're going to have to...-

Reality is not anything that I want to glamorize,

It's a scary thing having to actually go within yourself,

and that's why most people don't even spend like, a second of any day, alone.

Without some sort of, like, company.

Even when they go to bed,

they're looking at stuff,

or maybe they're watching tv until they go to sleep.

The second they wake up, they're on their a phone again.

People don't realize it,

but this is all just a way to escape having to be alone with yourself

which is potentially putting you in a situation where you would actually have to go inside yourself.

Which, again, we're taught, and we're brainwashed,

that this is a...-

That you have to avoid that at all costs.

The great promise of consumerism is fulfillment, right?

That you can buy this physical thing,

or you can buy this pill,

or you can, basically, use money to buy something

that leads to fulfillment.

And this is just a carrot at the end of the stick.

Like, the only way to have fulfillment is to go within yourself.

But the false promise of consumerism,

and in consumerism, again, it's all just external,

is that you can have fulfillment paying money for something

and then buying that thing, and realizing you're not fulfilled,

and then you move on to the next thing,

or the next thing, or the next thing,

and then you just do that until you die.

That's consumerism.

If you're watching this video,

and you worship the Lamborghini,

you want to make a million dollars,

there's nothing I can say in this video that's going to sway you

from wanting those things.

There's nothing.

At best, the best that I can hope for

is to open a door in your mind that maybe you walk through and you start to peek through,

but you yourself have to come to realization.

I can't give you realizations.

When I first had my epiphany moment, back in 2011,

my goals were:

$100,000 dollars, and

a really, really nice car.

Those were my goals,

Those are the things that I wanted.

And this was even after I had my epiphany moment.

This is after I had, you know...-

My epiphany moment was basically where

I started to...-

I walked through the door and I started to see all of the the falseness around me.

But I still wanted these things.

And it wasn't until I actually had a lot of money,

until I actually was able to purchase these material things,

that I was able to fully understand that they don't,

I could have had the idea that they wouldn't fulfill me,

but I still wanted them.

And then when I had them,

that's when I realized that these things don't make you happier.

They don't.

And also, entrepreneurship it's a lot of good things,

like, I'm an entreprenur, I'm very happy,

but i'm also a very specific personality type;

and most people are not my personality type.

Most successful entrepreneurs that I know take very few vacations,

travel very little,

work their fucking asses off,

don't have families,

I mean, it's really hard.

It's really hard.

Because I'm running a business where I'm competing against other businesses

that prioritize profits.

Anyway guys, I could talk about this for hours,

The main part of this video is simply just to put the seed into your head

to open the door for you to start to looking at your external world

with a little bit of healthy skepticism.

Anyway I'm going to get back to work

I mean, I don't even want to eat this,

it just looks so good.

I mean like, I want to eat this.

Colored salts.

I think Luz's already gave you guys the the rundown of what this is.

I'll try to get the macros up here on the screen.

If you want to know the real secret to my success

It's this woman.

It's the way that she takes care of me,

It's the way she keep my house clean with just love,

and just love.

like, love. Like she loves me.

And I love her.

I'm extremely, extremely fortunate.

Everything that I put in my body,

she cookes up.

And all the keto diet stuff,

she's learned how to work with that,

and I mean, just...-

Man, this is incredible.

So I'm going to eat,

i just took a bite:

it's a 10, it's a 10.

This is better than anything you're going to find in any restaurants.

I mean, just...-

I don't even think,

everything she makes is just...-

I cook really well.

But if she makes it, it's just always tastes...-

Even eggs ,even just like one single egg.

She would still find a way to make it, like, ten times better than I could possibly make it, so

She actually used to own a restaurant on the coast in Colombia.

So she's a...

I think I'm going to have to open a restaurant with her.

Anyway, I'm going to eat.

I think we're done with this episode.

Anyway, please like, please subscribe, please comment.

Dark mode has officially begun.

And I'll see you guys in the next episode.

It's Dark and Hell Is Hot | A DMX Retrospective Review - Duration: 9:47.

These days, it's easy to dismiss Earl Simmons as a man on his last legs.

Since his debut 20 years ago, the artist known as DMX has been arrested for everything from

drug possession to impersonating an FBI agent.

It's been a hard life for the embattled MC, a tragic tale of supreme talent sabotaged

by poverty, childhood abuse, drugs and mental illness.

As with many tortured artists, DMX would have his own demons to thank for the rise and fall

of one of the most fascinating careers in hip-hop.

From its birth in the Bronx during the 1970s, hip-hop has often been described as an outlet

for the disenfranchised.

It was home to honest reflections of the social, economic and political realities of marginalized

peoples.

DMX has always stood out as one of its darkest geniuses, no different than Edgar Allen Poe

in literature.

As it was to the legendary writer, the theme of darkness is equally central to the life

and art of Dark Man X.

First, let's go back a little bit.

Hip-hop was in a weird place in 1997.

Fans and critics were reeling from the devastating losses of Biggie Smalls and 2Pac which left

a massive hole in the game.

Music had moved out of the streets and into the shiny suits of acts like Puff Daddy, Ma$e

and Will Smith.

For big-time music executives like Irv Gotti and Lyor Cohen, signing someone who looked

and sounded like DMX was very dicey.

We're talking about a man with one the most unconventional voices in all of music.

His ultra-aggressive delivery and animalistic ad-libs clashed heavily with the flashy rap

at the top of the charts.

Yet and still, Def Jam took a chance on the gritty product that was DMX.

His debut album, It's Dark and Hell is Hot, dropped on May 12th, 1998.

It shot to the top of the Billboard 200 with 251,000 copies sold in the first week and

went 4x platinum in just over two years.

It also paved the way for the Bronx MC to become just the 2nd rapper since 2Pac to land

two platinum selling albums in the same year.

With that being said, It's Dark and Hell is Hot was much more than just a commercial

and critical success.

It was a sonic masterpiece that introduced a new rap heavyweight, revived a floundering

label in Def Jam and changed hip-hop as people knew it at the time.

Four years earlier, Nas' Illmatic introduced a thoughtful and technically brilliant brand

of inner-city storytelling that inspired evolution.

DMX replicated this in 1998 with a menacing and violent documentary.

His willingness to expose personal demons onstage, during interviews and on wax appealed

to people who were either captivated by darkness or looking to find meaning in their own suffering.

The kind of fascination that surrounded DMX's debut transcends both time and genre.

Kurt Cobain, Eminem, Tony Soprano, Omar Little and The Joker have all exposed America's

never-ending appreciation for complicated and imperfect anti-heroes.

On the song, "F***** wit D", DMX opens up about his own mental illness.

Amazingly, he's able to dig a bit deeper on "Stop Being Greedy" with a manic rap

that shines a light on the highs and lows of his bio-polar disorder.

His most incredible display of dark artistry comes in the standout track "Damien",

a head-spinning, back-and-forth battle between X and the personification of one of his demons.

Here, the suffering MC comes to the realization that by embracing his consuming darkness for

fame, he's sold his soul to the devil.

The greatness of this track can be seen in its influence on Kendrick Lamar

who cited that his encounters with Lucy, or Lucifer, on To Pimp a Butterfly were inspired

by "Damien".

In addition to representing different levels of Hell, a closer look at these songs reveal

that while not the most technical of MCs, DMX was an incredible storyteller.

From Slick Rick to Outkast, certain rappers have excelled at mixing rhymes with gripping

stories over the span of an entire song.

Backed by the perfectly menacing production of Dame Grease, P.K. and Swizz Beatz, Dark

Man X was able to dole out memorable tales of crime in "ATF", love in "How's

it Goin' Down" and redemption in his "Prayer" skit.

Songs like the "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" and "Get at Me Dog" highlighted his flexibility

by proving that he could write radio anthems with the best of them.

Given his fall from grace, I felt that it was important to remind people why Earl Simmons

is one of hip-hop's most important figures.

His numbers, talent and influence are undeniable.

His infectious energy was apparent to me the moment he stepped onto the scene in LL Cool

J's unforgettable "4,3,2,1".

When it comes to content and production, X's debut is a perfect exercise in organized chaos.

To this day, his journey through the lowest depths of humanity remains captivating and

disturbing.

It captures his descent with enough skill and authenticity to match the likes of something

as great as Goodfellas.

By giving an unforgettable voice to the darkest corners of society, It's Dark and Hell is

Hot solidified the Bronx MC as one of rap's premier street prophets.

In addition to bringing Def Jam back from the dead, this album ushered in the return

of the rap crew with Ruff Ryders, a talented collective that brought us Eve, Swizz Beatz

and the return of The Lox.

It also led to the emergence of street talents like 50 Cent and Camron who came with crews of

their own.

DMX sits with the likes of 2Pac in my top 5 because of his honesty as an artist.

Both MCs were not afraid to rage against the machine in one song and cry for forgiveness

in others.

Both persisted through challenging lives and careers.

They also stood tall in the face of a demise that they predicted in their own music.

Dave Chappelle once said that the worst thing you could call somebody was crazy because

it's dismissive.

I too believe that some strong people suffer because of their sick environments.

Few make it out completely, some not at all.

Remember that the next time Earl Simmons is on the news for something other than music.

Walk'n With Walken- Episode 7: The Dark Night - Duration: 6:45.

Hey!

Hey you!

Who the hell?

Hey!

Hey!

Are you talking to me down there?

What the hell are you doing up there?

You're gonna get hurt!

Well, you know!

Being up here sort of reminds me of that Batguy man.

What?

Oh!

Oh no, sorry!

I'm talking about Batman!

And Gothic City!

And when he's flying around and shit!

Are you nuts?

No!

I'm not nuts, my good sir!

You see, I'm talking about The Dark Knight!

When Heath Ledger passed away, there was a lot of doubt and fear surrounding the new

Batman movie!

But to ease the Warner Bros. fears I directed, produced and wrote a version of the film all

by myself!

He's got no items.

No identification.

Nothing.

He just came in off the streets.

He's clearly unstable.

Why so serious?

*Poorly acted laugh* We all want to rule Gotham City!

We all want to rule Gotham City!

But a common foe presents himself to us!

A man dressed like a bat!

You may know him by his street name: Batman.

I don't know where they came up with a silly name like that but there you go!

Gee, boss!

What are we gonna do?

Well, it's quite simple.

We kill the bat.

And stuff!

*Poorly acted laugh*

Hey!

Don't you know never to touch the Batman's radio?!

I'll sing!

War what is it good for?

Master Wayne!

The Joker is the on the loose again!

And his evil plot is in full swing!

He's turning day into night!

You mean if I don't stop him?!

Yes!

Gotham City will be in for...

A Dark Night!

You are black!

You are darkness!

From within the shadows you fight like a knight!

You are: A bat man!

Who in the hell are you?!

I'm Catwoman!

Why you be dressing like a cat you crazy bitch?!

Care for some milk?

What the hell is wrong with you?!

Put that shit away!

Can it you!

Dark, chocolatey hunk of bat!

Oh hell, I'm hungry!

Come on!

Hit me!

Hang on, Catwoman!

Come on, hurry, and hit me!

You're gonna have to get your big ass booty of this ride!

Come on, hit me!

Hit me!

So yeah, that's pretty much the movie!

I mean it was quite the challenge being writer, producer and director!

I even helped compose the soundtrack!

I think I might even have one of our jam sessions on my i-Thingy here.
