Maya, a teacher at Jacob's school, began manipulating the teen just weeks ago, with the storyline soon to escalate

Underage Jacob went out of his way to impress Maya, who has been controlling him and has so far managed to keep their romance a secret

But how old is Jacob amid the storyline, and what happens next? Here's all you need to know… Read More Emmerdale grooming plot takes dark turn as Maya causes trouble for Jacob How old is Jacob on Emmerdale? How old is the actor who plays him?  Jacob is currently 15 years of age, and will turn 16 in March, meaning he is underage

Joe-Warren Platt is the actor who plays him, and he is 16 years of age. What's Maya's age, and how big is her age gap with Jacob?  It's not been revealed exactly how old Maya is, although she's thought to be in her 30s

This means there is an age gap between them of at least 15 years, likely more.   The actress who plays her, Louisa Clein , is 39 years old

Read More Emmerdale Jacob and Maya grooming storyline  Emmerdale's shocking new storyline began in November last year, when Jacob acted on his growing feelings for dad David Metcalfe's girlfriend Maya

Maya was stunned when he kissed her, but not long after she reciprocated and kissed him back

Jacob was then convinced she had feelings for him, with the pair embarking on a secret romance, only for Maya to call things off

Since then, Maya has been manipulating Jacob, calling the shots and ensuring he keeps their romance private

How are Jacob and Maya linked?  Jacob is not the biological son of David, but his stepson through his marriage to Alicia Gallagher

Alicia is actually Jacob's aunt, with her sister Leyla Harding being his biological mother, but it was Alicia who raised him

Jacob sees David as his dad, and Maya recently began a relationship with David making her Jacob's stepmother

What happens next?  The plot is set to escalate in the coming weeks, as Maya tries to manipulate Jacob into ditching his friends Gabby Thomas and Liv Flaherty

Viewers have been left sickened by the scenes that have unfolded, but the storyline has only just begun

Emiliano Sala WhatsApp message reveals he was worried about plane before disappearance - Duration: 3:21.

In a WhatsApp message, Sala expressed his concern over the jet before his take off from Nantes on Monday

Sala had agreed a £15million transfer from Nantes to Cardiff over the weekend. He had taken the jet back to France to say goodbye to his team-mates

The striker was then due back in Wales on Monday night but his plane went off radar over the English Channel

And Rolan has revealed he has seen a message from one of Sala's friends. "I've already travelled several times on private flights in that type of aircraft, you always have that fear," Rolan told Uruguay station Radio 1010AM

"One never expects that situation. "I received a message that Emiliano had sent to one of his friends in Argentina

EMILIANO SALA FEARED DEAD WITH PLANE MISSING "He told him he was afraid, that if they didn't find him he would already know what had happened

" A search and rescue effort to find Sala and the plane will start up again on Wednesday morning

The search was called off when night fell around 5:30pm on Tuesday. Tributes have been laid outside Cardiff's stadium, although there is no confirmation on Sala's whereabouts as yet

Thousands of supporters also gathered in Nantes on Tuesday night to show their support for the player

Rolan went on to say: "As such, as I say, he predicted it as it happened. "What he expressed in that message was what happened and what is happening

"I'm very shocked. I still do not believe it. "It was going to be an important step for him, he had a good contract in France, but not the platform of the player he is

"He took the economic and sporting leap that was going to help him and his family a lot

"There are few people who can speak ill of Emiliano. "A very hardworking person, very humble, always available

"I still have faith that everything will be OK, both for him and his family and friends

"  Sala's father, Horacio said: "I don't know anything. I'm in Argentina. "I spoke to Emiliano on Sunday

"Still nobody from Nantes has communicated with us, we are worried, desperate, this took us all by surprise

"I don't have any information on the journey, the only thing I know is that it was a small plane

"They are saying that the plane lost control in the channel. I don't know what could have happened

I am speechless."

I was Interviewed with PewDiePie and Casey Neistat...here's what happened - Duration: 18:17.

that's right I was interviewed alongside some of the biggest youtubers like

PewDiePie Casey Neistat and many others and it's pretty nuts and we were

talking about youtuber burnout what is everybody this is Chris from the rewired

soul where we talk about the problem but focus on the solution and if you're new

to my channel my channel is all about mental health and what I like to do is

pull different topics from the YouTube community to try to teach you how to

improve your mental and emotional well-being so if any of that stuff make

sure you subscribe and ring that notification bell so yeah

this last few days has been crazy I didn't realize I was interviewed

alongside these dude but anyways before I get into that make sure you follow me

over on Instagram after we work so we are so close so close to the ten

thousand follower goal and just think about it if each one of you who watches

this video just hits the little follow button I'll be hit 10,000 followers in

no time we can get that swipe up feature and life will be amazing for you as well

as for me oh the joy it brings me to just even think about it

all right well yeah make sure you follow me over on Instagram and over on Twitter

at the reward so I ask a lot of questions I interact with you guys a lot

I try to do research for some of my videos just by finding out where your

guys behaviors of thoughts and you know all these things are and it helps all of

us so anyways make sure you follow me so yeah I was interviewed by insider online

website one of the two I was interviewed by Lindsey over there and it was crazy

like she reached out to me when was this this was like November or December when

my channel started to get that big bump and I just want to say like I'm

extremely extremely honored to be interviewed alongside some of these

other amazing creators and just you know for somebody who who struggles with a

posture syndrome I know a lot of you have asked me about impostor syndrome

yeah like when you get like hate comments and you know some of the stuff

I've been through recently you know it makes me question like am I good at what

I'm doing what am i doing you know and the release of this

came at a great time because you know if someone is huge as insider is willing to

interview me and talk to me about youtuber burnout and mental health why

I'm doing something wrong so yeah it's his balance between like

getting that confidence and staying humble at the same time so yeah I'm very

humbled by the fact that I got to be interviewed alongside people like

PewDiePie and Casey Neistat Kati Morton was a part of it and some

other so yeah basically they they were interviewing us about youtuber burnout

and this is something that I've talked about many times on my channel so

PewDiePie in his part of the article he talks about how you know there's this

pressure to go go go go go and it's part of your job and PewDiePie has been under

more pressure lately which I've debated on making videos about this because the

whole competition with t-series and you know letting you know your your role or

your spot define who you are so I wonder if this is something that PewDiePie's

does because I know a lot of useful with this like one of the main reasons people

get so depressed after like losing a job or even a relationship is because we tie

it in so closely with our identity right but I will say this about PewDiePie he

has a great relationship with his fiancee Marzia I think I said that right

on one of my last videos he has a great relationship you know and he is somebody

who also knows when to take a break he is the largest youtuber on the platform

and he also takes breaks like him and Marcia go to like Japan and all of that

but the other thing is to but we're talking about youtuber burnout like I

look at people like PewDiePie as you know someone to look up to on this

platform so when we're talking about burnout right a lot of people get

concerned about me burning out cuz I pump out so many videos but look at the

largest creator on the platform I always try to teach you guys if you want what

they have you got to do what they do right so I want what PewDiePie has so I

got to do what he does and he's making daily videos right so he has an editor

all of you know my zach is my editor he added sometimes

especially if I'm busy I'm gonna spend some time with twisted or my son or

whatever and that's how we find balance so great for PewDiePie for doing that

but PewDiePie also has these other balls said he's juggling right yes is his

merch line he's working with you know sponsors and brands and all these other

things you know so he doesn't do as many public appearances anymore but he has a

lot of stuff going on and this takes hustle right but PewDiePie has been open

on his channel about burnout you know forced happiness and many other

things too so then you got my boy Casey nice that one of my favorite creators

Casey Niestat somebody who I just started watching when he started 3 6 8

I'm like Mike I've heard of this guy but let me check it out and I love his

editing style but I think what made me fall in love with Casey was his tattoo

and what's it safe to say do more I guess two tattoos about just like

working hard right and and yeah for sure so funny story when I saw Casey Neistat

that was in the article with me and then he made a video about it and like my

little notification came up that case and I had a video about this I'm like oh

my god my heart was beating I'm like Casey nice that's gonna talk about me

Casey nice that's gonna talk about me in this video and this video only being

released yesterday I already have a million views like oh my god Casey nice

that's gonna talk to me this is gonna be my big break there's gonna be it right

so I sat down I watched it I don't know why I haven't been that nervous in a

long time and coming to the end of the video Casey nice that didn't say squat

about me anyways like I started the video and Casey actually replied back to

me and here's his tweet right here where you know he talks about you know just

editing stuff down and all of that and I absolutely get it and Casey ended up

following me on Twitter so oh oh I'll give them a pass I'll give them a pass

this time but Casey next time a three six eight events going on I better be

invited but I want to show you this clip right here and there's been a lot of

talk of like hustle porn lately that is like glamorizing glorifying

romanticizing this idea of hustle work all the time

I believe in that I really do what it took for me to get this channel from

200,000 subscribers to 10 million was not sleeping was uploading every single

day for like two and a half years I busted my ass to build this channel and

I appreciate that and I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for people who

aren't willing to do that but want the success hard-worked

is always required to get to where you want to be so yeah that was that was one

of the standout clips that I saw right like so many people want this thing so

many people wanted the reward without putting in the work right and and for me

like you know I don't know if it's a society thing people say it's a

generational thing or whatever but we get so entitled we get so so so entitled

we want all the good without having to put it into the work right I know I know

when it comes to my mental health when it comes to my work my addiction

recovery when it comes to YouTube when it comes to my job when it comes to you

know being you know in a relationship with my beautiful girlfriend Tristan or

being a father to my son I have to put in the work if I want the rewards so I'm

so glad that Casey said that but one of the reasons I bring so many mental

health topics about youtubers to my channel is because I know so many of you

out there watching this especially kids especially kids you want to be a

youtuber but you don't understand what comes along with it right we have to

understand that with with these things that we want with these goals that we

have there's gonna be new stresses right and this is why youtuber burnout is such

a thing so they also interviewed people like Kati Morton and Kati Morton has

done a lot of collab videos with people like Elle Mills most recently she talked

with the try guys about taking a mental health break

Kati also was in Shane Dawson series and she talked with Shane Dawson after the

series about Jake Paul and all that stuff but when they interviewed me I was

glad I was able to bring in a different kind of perspective because although I'm

not a licensed therapist I hate myself a lot in you know psychology mental health

neuroscience but also just like happy I love Buddhist philosophy and all these

things so the the section about me in this article was about value systems and

this is like the number one thing that I think youtubers need to really keep in

check with and what we're talking about value systems is first off asking

yourself why do you want this why do you want to be a youtuber what is your

motivation behind it right because what I see from my perspective is a lot of

people get into this for the for the fame for the money or whatever and what

happens is is that that is an extrinsic value right so an extrinsic value is a

value that is something outside of ourselves so the money the followers the

subscribers or whatever it is the problem with that is is that there's

never enough there's something that they talk about

being Buddhist philosophy as well as there's a book called in the realm of

the Hungry Ghost they call us you know part of the human condition is a Hungry

Ghost right and that's in a ghost that just keeps eating but the food just

keeps falling out right there's never enough you know and this in my opinion

is what I think a lot of youtubers struggle with because they they keep

wanting more and more and more and more and more right so my values my

motivation for starting this channel despite with some of the negative

comments say I have intrinsic values okay I'm not looking for the followers

I'm not looking for the you know the subscribers I'm not looking for you know

the money and yeah I know some of you are gonna be like but didn't you say in

the beginning that you wanted followers on Instagram listen I just want the

swipe up feature if I can get the swipe up feature at five followers I literally

would not care but my goal is to help as many people as possible

all right that's all I want so the only reason I even care about views and

subscribers is because I want to help people so some people you know they

don't like the way I do my content or my content strategy but here's the thing I

have 700 videos and my first like three or four hundred videos wasn't really

using youtubers or pop culture at all and nobody was watching it like why am I

going to you know make a like have a passion of helping people if nobody can

see it they'll be like putting a hospital on a deserted island

you know what I mean so I I needed to get my message out to people so they can

see it and I just happen to find out that if I use youtubers for context to

talk about mental health I'm able to reach a larger audience all right so

that's a little bit of the method to my madness and why I talk about it

so part of the reason I started this channel like my main goal is to help all

of you because if you look at you know the situation there's way more YouTube

viewers than there are YouTube creators right but I'd be lying if I if I didn't

say like at some point I want to get to a place where I can help more youtubers

you know I'm gonna help you know my peers people doing the same thing and as

my channel grows I have a lot of YouTube content creator friends who reach out to

me we talk to each other on DMS or like on the phone or whatever and they talk

to me about the stresses and struggles and it makes me so happy that they can

turn to me and I can talk to him about this stuff but one of the issues that I

see is that so many youtubers want they want their cake and eat it too right

they want everything both ways so one of the reasons why we have to check in with

our extrinsic values versus intrinsic values is so many youtubers want the

fame they want the money they want the attention they want the popularity they

want all these things but you guys have seen it if you're a subscriber to my

channel you've seen it they don't want people talking about them

they don't want people to talk to them or shed any light that may even be

perceived as negative like you guys that's not how the world works

all right you can't ask for millions and millions and millions and millions of

eyes to be on you and for nobody to talk about your situation like that's not how

it is so this is something we're for like any aspiring youtuber you've got to

realize that watch and learn from these other

youtube's youtubers see what the struggles are that they're dealing with

right so one of the things I'll say that helps me with my mental health as a

youtuber is people who have taught me like roberto blake and gary vee or gary

vaynerchuk right like like Roberto and I were buddies we actually talk a lot but

Gary Vee I um I talked to him once at that summit but what I'm getting at is

they taught me to fall in love with the process okay they

teach me to fall in love with the numbers they teach me to fall in love

with the money right all those things are great but they taught me to fall in

love with the process okay and that is super important I absolutely love what I

do I am so grateful every single day a few months ago I was able to start doing

this full-time and like that's the dream like that's the dream right I'm my own

boss I get to do my own thing I get to be creative I get to help others I love

that and I love that process so what's interesting on the topic of YouTube

burnout is I put this poll up yesterday right or two days ago and I asked you

guys would you prefer me you know only uploading once a day what's fascinating

I've never in a million years thought that this would be the result and what I

mean is the comments and this is why the rewired soldiers are legit legit the

best subscriber base out there on YouTube because most of you who said you

would prefer me to go down to one video a day you were more concerned about me

it wasn't that you don't have enough time to keep up with the content there

were a few people who said that like it's very rare that anybody said that

most of you were just worried about me most of you were worried about me

burning out like how cool is that I love you I love you but just to give you a

little bit more than my perspective I hustle I work hard and like I can get

lazy I can procrastinate and a video from start to finish takes me like from

the time I've set up sit down record edit upload takes me maybe an hour and a

half to two hours right so like if I'm doing this for a full-time job and eight

hour a day like if I'm only working for two hours I will go absolutely insane

like I like I don't I don't know what to do with myself what am I gonna do sit

and binge watch Netflix play video games all day like I just love being

productive I love talking to people I love putting out content that might be

able to help people so like I would truly go insane if I only worked two

hours a day and only did one video a day I don't have enough going on yet to do

you know to fill up that time but here's some exciting news on my

channel I am changing things up some of you who have already noticed this so

I've been talking a lot with Tristan I've been talking with all of you so

what I want to do is do my best to stick to two videos a day not three but two

and here's the thing I want to start doing more research a lot of you have

really loved what I've been doing tying in like psychology and sociology and

neuroscience and I love to learn so I'm gonna try to do a morning video and an

evening video on all the days that I can do it unless I'm like traveling or got

family stuff going on or I'm sick or whatever but that's what I'm gonna try

to do so I'm gonna try to do a morning video and an evening video and put more

like scientific or psychological or evidence-based information in there

because I love teaching people I truly believe one of the keys to improving

your mental health is to understand more about the way your mind works and so and

as well as some of what the greatest minds and psychology and mental health

think about all this stuff the last thing that I'll mention is I just

started therapy I actually just started therapy with better help online therapy

and you know a lot of people like the whole scam thing or whatever I'm

actually journaling and documenting my my journey with this whole thing but

yeah something like something I often teach other youtubers is that listen you

have the money get therapy whether it's through a therapist in your local area

or it's through better help or whatever it is get therapy and as my channel

grows like I've noticed that I am struggling with some of my own things so

I'm giving therapy a try so I've been documenting this journey so I will be

making a video about my experience with better help the UPS the Downs and you

know all that because I've only been doing it a few days now and there's

always already been some ups and downs and I going out of my mind so I will

talk about that but if you're interested in trying better help online therapy the

link is always in the description and all that everything's been fine so far

the therapist that I have I looked her up she's fully licensed so everything's

going great so far but I will keep you posted on that

all right but anyways again thank you so much to Insider and Lindsey they have

lovely journalists I got to talk to you you're awesome I'm so honored to be

interviewed as part of this and I look forward to trying to keep helping as

many people as possible including all of my favorites lovely amazing YouTube

creators out there you're awesome don't get burnt out

alright anyways that's all I got for this video if you like this video please

give it a thumbs up if you're new make sure you subscribe and bring that

notification bell because I make a ton of videos and a huge huge thank you to

everybody supporting the channel over on patreon you are all amazing exclusive

perks and videos and group calls and individual calls all that stuff put the

top on that patriotic on right there alright thanks again for watching go

It's over for the Grizzlies. What now? - Duration: 6:26.

The Memphis Grizzlies gave it a good effort. After a depressing 2017-18 that started with a derailing Mike Conley injury, evolved into a job-killing spat between David Fizdale and Marc Gasol, and finished with a months-long tank job, the Grizzlies ran it back with a healthy and bolstered squad in 2018-19

Conley got back on the court, and the front office added Jaren Jackson Jr. from the NBA Draft, Garrett Temple via trade, and Kyle Anderson in free agency

It worked for a while. Gasol and Conley looked rejuvenated in October and November, having filled the court with grime amid a new offensive revolution

Memphis was 12-5 and even in first place in the West for a brief moment. But it's over now

Gasol has been pretty bad for a month, and Memphis doesn't have the juice to keep up in the brutal Western Conference

Related No urgency in Memphis After a 20-point loss to the Anthony Davis-less Pelicans at home on MLK Day, Memphis is 6

5 games out of the No. 8 seed, nine games below .500, and in solid 14th place in the West

Since beating the Blazers on Dec. 12, the Grizzlies have lost 17 of 20 games. The schedule has been pretty tough, but even when it's no, like Monday's home defeat, Memphis struggles

Since Dec. 13, the Grizzlies have the third worst net rating in the league, ahead of only the Cavaliers and Knicks

Memphis has the worst offense in that stretch by a solid margin, which is not a huge surprise because offense was never this team's calling card

But the defense has fallen apart under J.B. Bickerstaff too, with Memphis' resistance ranking No

18 over those 20 games after ranking No. 4 through the first 27 games of the season

If Memphis can't defend, it can't win. And for the last month, the Grizzlies haven't been getting near enough stops to make up for their moribund offense

So what now? Related The 'Grit 'N Grind' Grizzlies are over. Here were your favorite moments Gasol's gigante contract expires after the 2019-20 season unless he opts out of $26 million, which seems unwise

But given that cap space is at a premium for the 2019 free agency session, the big Spaniard might not be tradable until July, once some team with cap space and high expectations strikes out

Conley has an additional year beyond Gasol on his enormous contract, but he's three years younger without the burgeoning reputation for moodiness that Gasol carries

Could a desperate team like the Suns or Pistons make a play for Conley? What would Memphis want or expect in exchange for one of the best and most beloved players in franchise history? Would it be wiser to wait for the summer and see if whichever team lands Kevin Durant (assuming it's not the Warriors) needs a point guard? And whither Bickerstaff, who took over on an interim basis last season, finished the inglorious tank job successfully, and quickly got hired to coach what was expected internally to be a good team? Will the Memphis brain trust — whoever that includes these days, as it's tough to keep up with the vicious, volatile internal politics in Grizzlyland — trust Bickerstaff with an actual rebuild if the team goes that way? Will the team ever go that way? Related The difficulty of goodbye in Memphis The nightmare on Beale Street A sad state of the Grizzlies address The broken and bent Marc Gasol We hear so often that teams in small markets can't afford to strip it down bare and rebuild — the business model requires butts in seats, and people don't show up for 19-63 seasons

Here's the rub: people don't show up for 33-49 seasons either, and that's what Memphis is headed for (or worse)

The question is not if 19-63 is more or less sustainable in a business sense than 33-49

It's how you get back to 41-41 and a playoff chase. You don't do it by tinkering with this team, unfortunately

Kyle Anderson, Jaren Jackson, and the shells of the once-glorious Mike Conley and Marc Gasol aren't going to do it

The revised draft lottery odds and the fact that the Grizzlies owe the Celtics their first-round pick make decision-making around this issue more urgent

Memphis must give Boston its 2019 pick unless it is in the top eight. Up through last season, the Grizzlies could have basically guaranteed they would keep their selection by finishing with the seventh-worst record, and would have had a 3-in-4 chance of keeping it by finishing with the eighth-worst record

But the odds have been smoothed out going into this lottery, which is bad news for Memphis

Under the new system, Memphis would need to finish with the fifth-worst record to have a nearly 100 percent probability of keeping its pick and the sixth-worst record to have a 96 percent probability of keeping it

Being the seventh-worst team would leave a 15 percent probability they'd lose the pick

Being the eighth worst would make it a 60-40 proposition. As of Jan. 22, Memphis is the sixth-worst team in the league

All told, being terrible is the best play for Memphis now. The Grizzlies need another blue chipper (and a good shot at a superstar) to build around

If losing Conley and Gasol help that, so be it. Where Memphis is now, though, is not where it ought to want to be

'Many Sides of Jane': What is Dissociative Identity Disorder? | Heavy.com - Duration: 5:43.

'Many Sides of Jane': What is Dissociative Identity Disorder? | Heavy.com

A&E's new series Many Sides of Jane follows a 28-year-old mother of two named Jane Hart who was recently diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Hart agreed to let cameras document her life and follow her journey with DID, which many people often misunderstand and confuse.

According to the network, "Diagnosed only three years ago, [Hart] is on a journey to understand what caused her DID as well as figure out how she can best co-exist with her many 'parts.' Throughout the series, Jane will be coming to terms with past abuses that occurred during her childhood and her relationship with her family under the watchful care of her clinical psychologist.

This is a raw, unfiltered look at an extraordinary young woman who is learning how to live her life again with a rare, commonly misunderstood, disorder known as Dissociative Identity Disorder.".

Jane's more than nine identities range from 6-28 years old and can appear at any time, disrupting her life and making it hard to live normally.

But what actually is DID?. What is DID?.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (aka the DSM-5), DID, previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and "relatively enduring personality states." Symptoms and criteria for diagnosis include the existence of two or more distinct identities and accompanying changes in behavior, memory and thinking as a result; gaps in memory about everyday events, personal information and/or past traumatic events; and a disruption in functioning caused by significant distress or problems in social or occupational areas of functioning.

Associated conditions often include borderline personality disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, substance misuse disorder, self-harm, or anxiety.

DID is a complex psychological condition that is likely caused by many factors, including severe childhood trauma and/or repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.

The different identities, commonly referred to as "alters," can have their own age, sex, or race.

Different postures, gestures, and ways of talking are also possible.

The alters can even take the form of imaginary people or animals.

When a personality takes control over an individual's behavior and thoughts, it's known as "switching." Switching can take seconds or it can take days; when under hypnosis, the person's different alters may even respond to a therapist's requests.

. How is the Disorder Treated?.

According to the American Psychiatric Association (APA), treatment typically involves psychotherapy.

The APA writes, "The goal of therapy is to help integrate the different elements of identity.

Therapy may be intense and difficult as it involves remembering and coping with past traumatic experiences.

Cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy are two commonly used types of therapy.

Hypnosis has also been found to be helpful in treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder.".

While there are no medications to directly treat Dissociative Identity Disorder, medication may be helpful in treating related conditions or symptoms (i.

, taking antidepressants to help treat symptoms of depression).

The premiere of Many Sides of Jane airs tonight, Tuesday, January 22nd at 10/9c.

How Meghan's favourite avocado snack is fuelling human rights abuses, drought and murder - Duration: 14:44.

The Duchess of Sussex has rightly been praised for making the fusty old Royal Family more socially and ethically aware

But that was until an old friend from her Hollywood days was invited round for a bite to eat and posted online a picture of what was widely assumed to be high tea

Pride of place went to avocado on toast —on silver platters, no less.'Still being the avocado toast whisperer, YUM!', trilled her guest, Daniel Martin

The celebrity make-up artist said it took him back to the days when he and Meghan Markle collaborated on her lifestyle blog, The Tig

'The consummate hostess,' he enthused.Well, perhaps not so much. The campaigning duchess may be passionate when it comes to racial equality and female empowerment, but for someone who wants to save the planet, she's committed something of a faux pas with avocados

For all their health benefits and tastiness, the fact is that rampant avocado production in the Third World has been linked with water shortages, human rights abuses, illegal deforestation, ecosystem destruction and general environmental devastation

It has proved so lucrative in Mexico that it has been dubbed 'green gold' and is even filling the coffers of brutal drug cartels

In her defence, the duchess is hardly the only celebrity who's extolled the wonders of avocados, which are full of vitamins, proteins and healthy fats

The lifeblood of the millennial generation — who can't stop posting pictures of avocado on toast on Instagram — this so-called 'super food' has been championed by everyone from nutritionists to Hollywood stars

The duchess revealed in her Grenfell cookbook that a green chilli and avocado dip was a favourite

Pop star Miley Cyrus went further with an avocado tattoo on her arm.Grown in Mexico for 9,000 years, the avocado has come a long way since the 16th century, when Spanish conquistadors disparagingly called it aguacate, after ahuacatl, Aztec for testicle

Between 2000 and 2015, avocado consumption in the U.S.tripled.In the UK, the avocado market is estimated to be worth around £200 million a year

But it has become a victim of its own popularity, prompting restaurants and cafes to remove it from menus over concerns about its environmental and social impact

The Wild Strawberry Cafe in Bucks substituted avocados, its most popular item, with garlic-sauteed mushrooms on toast

Its owner cited the 'demand on avocado farmers, pushing up prices to the point where there are even reports of Mexican drug cartels controlling lucrative exports'

Tincan Coffee in Bristol has replaced 'avo' with pea guacamole after they were judged not to 'fit' with it's 'core beliefs'

The Wildflower Restaurant in South London followed suit, citing the violence in Mexico

Its chef, Joseph Ryan, suggested the world may be entering a 'post-avocado era'.Haute cuisine has also jumped on board

In Ireland, the Michelin-starred chef JP McMahon has called them the 'blood diamonds of Mexico' and compared avocados to battery chickens

Where trendy restaurants and chefs go, the image-conscious supermarkets may not be far behind

The problems that come from the West's trendy fascination with avocados have a lot to do with geography

Some 40 per cent come from Mexico and almost all of that is grown in the rural western state of Michoacan

The region's fertile volcanic soil and temperate climate allow avocados to be harvested all year round (in other countries they can only be harvested in summer)

The rich soil means the notoriously thirsty avocado trees need only a third as much water as they do elsewhere

Mexico now makes more money exporting avocados than oil.Unfortunately, Michoacan is also home to some of Mexico's most violent cartels

They include La Familia Michoacana, whose leaders once tossed five rivals' heads on to the dance floor of a nightclub; their equally vicious rivals in the Knights Templar, a quasi-religious death cult; and Los Viagras, named for their leader's heavily moussed, erect hair

In Michoacan, the cartels now make more money from avocados than cannabis. Some drug criminals are becoming growers themselves, others simply terrorise the industry

Avocado farmers, who in Michoacan can easily earn more than £115,000 a year, a vast sum in Mexico, live in continual fear of kidnapping and extortion

The Knights Templar started charging a fee for every box of avocados gathered by farmers

They also extorted money from the fertiliser and pesticide retailers. Many farmers have been forced to hand over the title deeds to their farms

If they don't pay protection money, growers and packers risk being raped or killed, their bodies tied to avocado trees with warning notices attached

Some kidnapped farmers have been killed even after their families paid their ransom

A businessman whose family refused to pay up was chained to one of his trees and shot dead

Officials estimated the Knights Templar alone earn as much as £115 million a year from avocados

The cartel's 2014 kidnap, rape and murder of an avocado farmer's young daughter prompted the town of Tancitaro to drive out the Knights after a bloody battle

However, the cartels remain a menacing presence.Mexico's avocado industry is also accused of damaging the health of locals with the chemicals sprayed on the orchards

Experts are concerned that the fumigation of the trees is behind growing breathing and stomach problems, and may be polluting water supplies

Unscrupulous farmers are clearing land for avocado orchards, often illegally by cutting down oak and pine forests

The latter provide a crucial winter nesting ground for the imperilled Monarch butterfly

Indeed, a Mexican government study concluded that soaring avocado production has caused a loss of biodiversity, environmental pollution and soil erosion

It has also damaged the natural water cycle and threatened the survival of animal species only found in the area

Farmers exacerbate deforestation by using trees for avocado crates. We can't be certain where Meghan's avocados came from, but fashionable eaters who think they can safely switch to sourcing them from the Dominican Republic, Chile or Peru should think again

Wherever they come from, the thousands of miles any avocado has to travel to get to Britain means they leave a heavy carbon footprint

This is because they are perishable but cannot be frozen because it alters their texture

They must therefore be transported either by air or in air-conditioned container ships so they ripen at just the right moment

Their relatively heavy weight and bulky packaging to prevent bruising further ratchets up their carbon footprint

Two avocados have a footprint of 846g of CO2, compared to 160g for two bananas. The enormous amounts of water required to grow avocados is even more of an eco-issue in countries without Mexico's volcanic soil

It can take as much as 1,000 litres (220 gallons) to grow a single kilo (about three avocados)

The Chilean province of Petorca is suffering an acute water shortage thanks to 'green gold'

Water has been privatised in Chile (which specialises in the Hass variety so popular in the UK), meaning that those who pay — such as deep-pocketed big avocado growers — can use as much as they want

When activists complained after a 2012 aerial survey revealed 64 pipelines were diverting river water underground to irrigate the orchards, they received death threats

Local rivers have now dried up and supplies have to be trucked in for local people while the avocado farms rely on artificial reservoirs

Although the avocado is essentially a jungle plant, greedy growers are determined to cultivate it in dry, perennially sunny areas such as California, where orchards sap water from a state already prone to wildfires and drought

In Israel, avocado trees are irrigated with treated waste-water, prompting fears that harmful nano-particles are not only permanently damaging the soil but penetrating the fruit

The Chinese are being gripped by avocado mania, too, so demand is expected to keep soaring

But given the damaging cost of 'avocado fever', might it not be better to eat them more sparingly — and not, for example, serve them up on silver platters? Since Meghan's guest was invited to high tea, surely it should have been a case of let him eat cake

Here are some of Frank's best (and worst) moments: Frank gets high and stuck in a bin at a football game

Frank steals a tour boat full of tourists on his way to watch Thunder Gun Express

The gang gives Frank an Intervention after he goes completely off the rails and crashes a funeral drinking wine out of can

Frank jumps out of sofa at an office Christmas party completely naked. Frank fall out of a window and thinks he is back in 2006

Frank poops the bed that him and Charlie sleep in together but won't admit it was him

What happened with Danny at the NTAs 2019?  On January 22, 2019, Danny was booed when he introduced the Best Drama Performance award at the 2019 National Television Awards

The Hollywood actor hit out at the "not nice" audience for booing him when he began to talk about football while on stage

Before making the award, he told the audience: "This is a big week for me this week

It's really nice for me to be here.  "I've got tryouts. I'm going to get Petr Cech's job

Go Arsenal."  He added to the audience "you're not nice" as they booed his seeming support for Arsenal
