Lavrov: US Policy Aimed at Toppling Venezuela's Government - Duration: 8:14.

Russia has expressed readiness to help promote understanding between responsible forces in Venezuela. Can such talks succeed if the United States is interfering in developments in Venezuela and supporting the opposition?

We are deeply distressed by what the United States and its closest allies are doing to Venezuela. They have violated international law by taking the path towards overthrowing the legitimate government in that Latin American country.

We learned about new sanctions today, namely the decision to freeze the foreign reserves of the Central Bank and the government of Venezuela.

The United States has used this illegal and wrongful method before, against other countries' assets. It froze the assets of Iraq, Libya, Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua and Panama. In most cases, this amounted to the confiscation of foreign governments' assets.

The UK authorities have done the same by seizing, in effect confiscating, Venezuela's gold holdings in in London.

Apart from seriously undermining whatever trust there still is in the international financial system based on the domination of the US dollar, this deepens the social crisis in Venezuela and is obviously designed to encourage the illegal activities of the opposition.

According to the available information, the opposition leaders who have declared dual power, have received instructions from Washington to reject any compromises until the Venezuelan government cedes power, in one way or another.

It was reported today that sanctions have been imposed on the Venezuelan oil and gas company PDVSA and its US subsidiary Citgo.

At the same time, these sanctions do not affect US companies in Venezuela, which gives rise to cynicism.

They want to change the Venezuelan government and also to profit from this.

As it is said, the United States has taken the bit between its teeth and is openly working to overthrow a legitimate government.

But this does not mean we can stop using any means available to uphold international law.

We will work together with all the other responsible members of the international community to support the efforts of the legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro to protect Venezuela's Constitution and to find a constitutional solution to the crisis.

During the telephone conversation with your Iranian colleague, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, the sides reaffirmed their willingness to facilitate mutual understanding between the political forces of Venezuela. What practical steps does this imply?

As for opportunities for international assistance to settling the crisis in Venezuela, in my reply to the previous question I mentioned some very serious obstacles that the US and its closest allies are putting in their path.

I've just read a report about yesterday's news conference by US National Security Advisor John Bolton.

According to the media, he carelessly left his notepad in view of the cameras.

The notepad had the words "5,000 troops to Colombia" written on it.

This gives one food for thought, especially considering that the appeals to use Venezuela's neighbours for direct intervention under the pretext of the grievous humanitarian situation are openly made in the US and some other countries.

Yet, we noted that despite ultimatums to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by a number of EU members, the statement made by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on behalf of the EU is more reserved and suggests establishing a contact group.

Now we are trying to clear up what our European colleagues have in mind and how they plan to implement this idea, if at all.

In addition, member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are also seriously concerned about the developments in Venezuela and the plans of some aggressive outside players regarding that country.

They are also trying to find opportunities for international mediation.

As you know, President Maduro and his representatives, in particular, Foreign Minister Jorge Alberto Arreaza Montserrat, have repeatedly spoken out in favour of talks with the opposition.

Judging by its reaction, the opposition is under heavy pressure from those who prohibit it from establishing contract with the legitimate government.

Nevertheless, considering the signals from the EU, the interest of the Caribbean countries and the striving of India and China to prevent disastrous developments,

we would like to try and understand what the international community can do to prevent yet another crude violation of international law and regime change by force and steer the developments into the constitutional framework.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and I discussed this yesterday. Just like us, he would like to find opportunities for external players to be useful to the Venezuelan people.

They should encourage all responsible Venezuelan leaders to conduct dialogue rather than instigate riots and violent confrontation.

1962 D US One Cent - $4,000 United States Penny sold at auction - Duration: 8:15.

Hello all you coin aficionados out there and Welcome to the DC Coin World International Coin Channel.

Today we're going to talk to you about the Famous 1962 D Lincoln Memorial One Cent coin

nowas many of you know in 1959 the United States changed from the wheat Cents

To the Lincoln Memorial Cents so on the back instead of the ears of wheat

This is a 1944 Wheat One Cent coin

You can see the wheat they call it the wheat cent because it has these

stalks or ears of wheat on this side they changed in 1959 to the Lincoln

Memorial and this change not only changed some of the makeup of the coins

so it from a bronze coin which was 95% copper zinc and tin to a coin 95% copper and 5% zinc with no Tin.

When they did that it changed the hue of the coins a little

bit in other words the kind of the coloring of the coins and in 1962 there

are some really famously red cents that collectors just love so those who love

the graded Lincoln those kind of collectors they call them graded

Lincoln's because they will go to either PCGS or NGC and actually get graded

according to what kind of condition they're in and how red they are and

these particular coins have a not quite a bright red but a very very

reddish copper variety that the collectors love in fact in a couple

years ago they went up as high as $4,000 dollars for an MS 67 RD or red so an MS

67 means that it's just a beautiful coin it's in great condition

it'll be essentially not just look unused but unscratched and there are a

number of those varieties out there so in 2016 one of them sold for about four

thousand plus dollars four thousand four hundred if you count the fees that you

have to pay to the auction site they still list them at around two thousand

plus dollars on NGC and PCGS in in terms of some of the values so these could be

very valuable coins what will it look like well it will be bright red it won't

have the wear marks or the scratches of this one and she's this one you can see

some of the reddish on here but it's not a bright red and you can see the wear

marks on here it says In God We Trust at the top Liberty behind Lincoln in 1962 D

here when people start magnifying their Lincoln cents a lot of times they say

well this must be something wrong with this because the L is really touching

the side no that that kind of has always been there I'll show you that 1944 again

the 1944 it you know pretty much touches or comes close to touching there so

these cents get the words get really close to the rim and they sometimes they

kind of touch the rim that will not bring you any real value even if it is

almost touching the rim it's just not offset enough even if it does another

thing about the 1962's is that there's a number of different looks on these where

the nine and the six have different heights and the two is a slightly offset

see how this two kind of goes at an angle here it almost beers to the left

it's like it's tipped over that's pretty standard for these coins and it was

probably something that happened in the minting or stamping process they got it

a little bit offset then there's also some varieties on this 1962 where the D

is a little bit lower and doesn't quite go up up to the 9

and so you might find one with a D that slightly lower than the 9 under the

so if you drew a line straight across the bottom of the 9 there are some

varieties where it doesn't touch that the line would not touch the D another

thing you look at when you look at these Lincoln cents is how finely engraved the

back is so in these ones you can kind of see that there's some bushes here and

you can kind of see the steps but a little bit of we're in the steps you can

see Lincoln Way in the back you can see kind of the scrollwork up here see how

that's girl work right there is kind of worn the steps are kind of worn here

this urn or container here at the bottom of the steps is kind of worn if you get

a good one of these these (Sorry about that shaking) the steps will be perfect lines across

You'll actually be able to see some in the bushes over here you'll be

able to see some of the shrubbery if we look over way over to the right and this

is about as magnified as we're going to get here we see something kind of stuck

over there on the end of the shrubberies and that's an F G so see that there is an F

there and a G that's for Frank Gasparro who engraved the back of this coin. So he was the one who did the obverse or back of Memorial Cent

Remember the Lincoln since 1909 the front had

been the same design by Victor David Brenner and we'll see if we can show you

his initials they are often hard to see on these coins but if we tip it up just

right you'll be able to see that there are some initials right in here boy

that's tough to see isn't it right underneath Lincoln there is a VDP well

I'm not even sure we're going to be able to see it in this one you can

a little bit right there yeah see right at the top of my pen

there was a V a D and a B that stands for Victor David Brenner

and that's his initials on the bottom of Lincoln right underneath his that his

shoulder there you can see right there the VDB so the front was always a

Victor David Brenner Actually the first coin that came out his

initials were very prominent and that's one that is incredibly collectible this

one is not so collectible it doesn't have the bright red it doesn't have any

of the specialty conditions on the steps or anything and it's surely not even

gonna be graded as a fine never mind a MS67 plus red. So that's all we have

today for the DC Coin World International Coin Channel if you're

collecting the 1962 D's it's gonna have to be an incredibly good condition to

have a value even if it is in general it's going to be worth about twenty nine

dollars or thirty dollars not $2,000 or $4,000 dollars but if you are a collector

who looks for the full red graded Lincoln's and that's all you want in

life is to get one of those sometimes you're willing to spend a thousand or

two thousand dollars for one have a great day from the DC Coin World

What leaders eat And what is the effect on us? - Duration: 5:16.

When you are the leader of a world powerfull state

and have a busy schedule, you should nourish your body

with healthy and satisfying food No?

President Trump has no less than five chefs in the White House,

but as he has shown us so far He prefers to go his own way and eat a lot

of junk food

How it affects the health and mind of the President of the United States

Is it possible that the junk food love is a

part of his own American patriot image ?

Is there a possibility that Fast food will disrupt

his ability to think properly.

We will try to find out next

So, do not forget to subscribe this channel

and we are starting right now

Joe Travers, is a dietitian

and author of the book "Low Fat Diet"

During the interview given to the Guardian

She examined Mr Trump's nutrition and She is worried.

First, Trump barely touches food containing omega-3

Many studies have shown different health effects for

omega-3 essential to the proper functioning of our brain cells

because it does not Consume enough omega-3s,

Trump's body will convert other types of fats - that are less liquid,

And will Make it difficult for neurons to transmit messages

to the body's cells.

And that is linked to mood disorders,

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day?

Not for Mr. Trump.

The president has revealed his culinary

preferences during the morning.

He prefers to skip breakfast if possible,

or be satisfied with bacon and eggs

if there is really no choice

Travers believes Trump should "replenish the

nutrients that his body can not store overnight"

She also recommends giving up the bacon.

She said that

"This is processed meat linked to cancer,

so the risk that the president

will catch a disease will continue to rise

Trevers recommends a menu that includes a balance

of proteins and carbohydrates

A protein-rich diet can cause excessive

pressure in its organs if he does not drink enough water.

"

One of the Presidents favorite dishes for lunch

is Meat Loaf

A typical American dish.

Travers says it's fine,

assuming that the meat is in a sandwich,

(As Trump really prefers it),

to balance carbohydrates and proteins.

"Meat loaf is actually only meat," explains Travers.

"It has no dietary fiber,

Affecting the health of the digestive system.

She also think that the president must feed the good

bacteria in his digestive system with fruits and vegetables,

Because the food which Mr trump consumes may affect the immune

system and lead to infections

Travers suggests that White House chefs will

start encourage him to adopt a healthier attitude

"A plate should be half full of fruits and vegetables, a quarter of it in

carbohydrates and another quarter of protein"

If it helps Trump to think better before making fateful decisions that affect

For millions of people in the world - worth trying it out

I don't know what to think of Ms travers diagnose

Mr trump looks just fine to me And according to the firsts lady eating

habits it seems like the president of the u.s eats junk only on special occasions

so I guess everything is just fine

So subscribe this channel to get more foodie videos

And see you on the next

Iran hits back at ballistic missile warning from US - WW3 THREAT - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:02.

Iran hits back at ballistic missile warning from US - WW3 THREAT

IRAN vowed not to curb its missile arsenal in a further show of defiance to Donald Trump

after demands from the United States.

Tehran warned America it will continue ramping up its satellite technology to improve missile

accuracy.

And despite denying it would increase its range of the weapons, Iran warned the US missile

capabilities are "not negotiable".

Ali Shamkhani, a close aide to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said: "Iran

has no scientific or operational restriction for increasing the range of its military missiles.

But based on its defensive doctrine, it is continuously working on increasing the precision

of the missiles, and has no intention to increase their range."

Iran's minister of defence Amir Hatami warned its missile capabilities are non-negotiable.

He dismissed a call by European countries and the US that the missile technology should

be diminished.

Mr Hatami said: "The enemies say Iran's missile power should be eliminated, but we

have repeatedly said our missile capabilities are not negotiable."

European countries joined the US to demand Iran curbs the ballistic missile programme.

This month, Iran sent shockwaves through Washington by promising to blast a satellite into space

which US officials fear has missile technology capable of reaching the US mainland.

The Simorgh space launch vehicle would be fired from the Imam Khomeini Space Centre.

But the US is adamant Iran may use it to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles.

And Mr Trump flexed US muscles by unveiling a huge expansion of its new missile defence

that uses space-based sensors to shoot down missiles from "rogue states" like Iran

and North Korea.

The US president claimed the system could destroy enemy missiles "anywhere, anytime,

any place".

But experts fear the missile system could spark a new arms race with nuclear powers

like Russia and China.

Mr Trump said: "Our goal is simple: to ensure that we can detect and destroy any missile

launched against the United States – anywhere, anytime, any place.

"We are committed to establishing a missile defence programme that can shield every city

in the United States.

And we will never negotiate away our right to do this."

The US has spent nearly £228bn ($300bn) on missile defence since 1983.

Somalia named as world's most corrupt country, Denmark the least, while US is 'one to watch' - Duration: 7:20.

Somalia is the most corrupt in the world, Denmark the least, while America's falling score is a 'red flag', according to a global corruption watchdog

Transparency International highlighted Hungary and the United States in their Corruption Perceptions Index for 2018, with America being knocked from the top 20 'cleanest' list

Trump's America lost four points and dropped out of the top 20 least corrupt nations for the first time since 2011, while Hungary's politics has taken on more autocratic overtones, according to the researchers

'A four point drop in the CPI score is a red flag and comes at a time when the US is experiencing threats to its system of checks and balance, as well as an erosion of ethical norms at the highest levels of power,' the Berlin-based organization said

'If this trend continues, it would indicate a serious corruption problem in a country that has taken a lead on the issue globally -this is a bipartisan issue that requires a bipartisan solution

' Zoe Reiter, the watchdog's acting representative to the US, said they had serious concerns over the Trump administration but that corrupution had been a mounting problem for years

'Conflict of interest wasn't a new problem, but it was illuminated in its glory when you have someone who is basically breaking norms

'Trump is a symptom not a cause. His presidency is illuminating some of the problems

' The US, Hungary and Brazil were all listed as countries to watch. The most improved were Estonia, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Guyana; and decliners included Australia, Chile, Malta and Mexico

Somalia was rated the most corrupt with a score of 10, followed by Syria, South Sudan, Yemen, North Korea, Sudan, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Afghanistan and Libya

Many of the most corrupt regions are in throws of warfare which has ravaged government and any prospect of democracy

The Corruption Perceptions Index showed more than two-thirds of countries scoring below 50, on its scale where 100 is very clean and zero is very corrupt

In a cross-analysis of its survey with global democracy data, Transparency said a link could be drawn between corruption and the health of a democracy

Full democracies scored an average of 75 on the corruption index, flawed democracies averaged 49, and autocratic regimes averaged 30, the organization said

The US score dropped from 75 to a below average 71.It noted that Hungary dropped eight points and Turkey nine over the past five years, to scores of 46 and 41, respectively

At the same time, the report cited Freedom House's annual democracy survey, noting Turkey was downgraded from 'partly free' to 'not free,' while Hungary registered its lowest score for political rights since the fall of communism in 1989

The ratings reflect the 'deterioration of rule of law and democratic institutions, as well as a rapidly shrinking space for civil society and independent media,' the organization said

'Our research makes a clear link between having a healthy democracy and successfully fighting public sector corruption,' said Delia Ferreira Rubio, the head of Transparency

'Corruption is much more likely to flourish where democratic foundations are weak and, as we have seen in many countries, where undemocratic and populist politicians can use it to their advantage

' Overall, Denmark led the survey as the least corrupt nation, with a score of 88, followed by New Zealand, Finland, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland

Rounding out the top group were Norway, Netherlands, Canada, Luxembourg, Germany and Britain

Since 2012, only 20 nations had significantly improved their scores, including Argentina and Ivory Coast, which scored 40 and 35 respectively, up from 35 and 29

At the same time, 16 have declined significantly in that time, including Australia, which slipped from a score of 85 to 77, and Chile, which dropped from 72 to 67

The index is calculated using 13 different data sources that provide perceptions of public sector corruption from business people and country experts

These include the African Development Bank Country Policy and Institutional Assessment, the World Bank Country Policy and Institutional Assessment, the World Economic Forum Executive Opinion Survey and the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index Expert Survey

US NEWS | Donald Trump has boxed himself into a corner opinion - Duration: 3:06.

US NEWS | Donald Trump has boxed himself into a corner opinion

Democratic House members were rightly anxious about casting a politically fraught vote, particularly without any assurance the Senate would take it up. It didnt. So I was sent from the White House with the dubious assignment of making the political case to the Democratic caucus for the hazardous vote.

The moment I walked through the door, and before I addressed the group, the once and future Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi accosted me. "The President of the United States assured me that he would be out, making a public case for this vote," she said, jabbing a finger in my direction. "Where is he?"

Mercifully, God intervened. A clergyman took to the microphone, causing Pelosi to pause the tongue lashing as she bowed her head and clasped her hands in prayer. But as soon as amens were said, she resumed her tirade.

"And if I dont see him out there, I am going to pull this bill!"

Pelosi was Obamas greatest and most resourceful ally on Capitol Hill. She was tough and unsparing, even to a friendly White House, when the moment demanded.

Newly back in charge of the House, Pelosi has just treated President Donald Trump to a brutal civics lesson about the separation of powers under the US Constitution. Friday, the President called an end to his five week partial government shutdown.

Now both he and Pelosi have calculations to make.

The most urgent are those of Trump, who impulsively painted himself into a corner and smashed headlong into his mythic border wall. Picking a fight he could not win, he neither pleased his base nor the majority of Americans who reject the wall and resented the costly, marathon shutdown.

In Pelosi, Trump has encountered a canny and implacable foe, with an intimate understanding of the power invested in the Congress. She would not be bullied or cowed.

It seems doubtful that the speaker, flush with victory, will extend a life raft to the President, who faces another deadline three weeks from now. It is unlikely that her caucus will yield on the wall; instead it will probably offer the same package of border and port enhancements it proffered last week.

Had he not made the wall his sine qua non, Trump might have been able to claim this as a victory, arguing that he won significant new funding for border security. After all, he may not be the master negotiator he played on TV but the man does know how to sell.

The problem is, he got elected by selling the wall. He invested it with huge symbolic importance and his faithful, nativist flock believed him. They saw his capitulation on the shutdown as surrender. He is their leader. They are his jailers.

So my guess is that Trump will play the national emergency card when the deadline arrives in three weeks, claiming the power to shift funds from other purposes to build the wall.

He almost certainly will lose again this time in the courts as the Constitution clearly assigns the power to appropriate money to the Congress. But he will want to get caught trying, in the eyes of his followers. The judges will become his foil.

Trumps bigger concern should be less a wall on the border than the ones closing in on his presidency. On the very day he paradoxically declared victory in the shutdown battle by signaling surrender, he saw another ally ensnared in a Russia probe that seems to be churning to a crescendo.

With the indictment of Roger Stone, special counsel Robert Mueller added another piece to a jigsaw puzzle that is taking shape. And no matter how often the President loudly proclaims "witch hunt" and denies collusion, the growing weight of evidence dispels both.

The House will have the responsibility to act on Muellers findings or any attempt by the White House and Justice Department to suppress it. No one knows exactly what the inscrutable special counsel will conclude.

But for two years, Congress has done its best to shield Trump from a thorough reckoning on Russia, his commercial exploitation of the White House and myriad other potential abuses.

Now the power of the House is in Pelosis hands.

What should be clear to the President today, if it wasnt before, is that she knows how to use it.

US NEWS | Government shutdown Your questions answered Politics

On the same day major airports experienced and hundreds of thousands of federal workers missed their second paycheck, President Donald Trump on Friday to reopen parts of the government temporarily.

So, what happens next? Weve got some answers.

How long is the government opening for?

The President announced the White House had reached an agreement with lawmakers to fund the affected government agencies about 25 percent of federal operations through February 15. Congress approved the deal, and Trump on Friday. Lawmakers already had separately funded the other three quarters of the federal government through September.

The latest deal includes , meaning its the same agreement Trump could have inked more than a month ago.

What happens after three weeks?

Democrats and Republicans will continue to discuss border security, and lawmakers have three weeks to reach an agreement that satisfies Trumps request for funding a border wall.

If that doesnt happen, the President along the southern border and direct the Defense Department to construct a wall, possibly using dollar 7 billion identified for this purpose by his aides.

Or, the government will shut down again on February 16 taking us right back to where we started.

"Let me be very clear," Trump said in a speech Friday. "We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier."

When are employees expected back at work?

Given that the government reopened Friday evening, most furloughed employees are expected to report back to work on their next scheduled work day. Workers should refer to their own agencies for more information.

Whats happening at the airports?

Flight delays at airports on Friday in Trumps decision to back down, at least for now, from his demand for wall funding and to reopen the government, a White House official said.

Now that the government is fully open, delays that cropped up throughout the 35 day shutdown may ease up a bit. Air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration employees know theyll get paid soon, so there will likely be a lot fewer unscheduled absences.

But dont expect everything to get back to normal just yet. For starters, itll likely be a few days before air traffic controllers, who work for the Federal Aviation Administration, and TSA employees are paid, meaning many may still be feeling financial strain.

Also, the Oklahoma City training academy for air traffic controllers , meaning chronic understaffing of employees who do routine tasks didnt ease at all during that time.

And because the spending bill only offers a temporary solution, theres a chance that employees might be sick of the uncertainty and decide to find other jobs.

Whats the situation with weather forecasting?

The government shutdown made the US to the upcoming hurricane season.

Forecasters and researchers use the off season to refine and improve storm predicting models, methods and techniques. But during the shutdown, much of that work came to a halt.

Even though the government is open again, the shutdown set forecasters back.

"This is lost time that cannot be made up," Suru Saha, a computer modeler who was furloughed, told CNN. "Its gone, and it will affect future operations."

Can I finally plan that family trip to visit the Smithsonian museums?

Yes. The Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo starting Tuesday at their regularly scheduled times.

But the shutdown hit the 173 year old institution hard. The Smithsonian each week of the partial government shutdown.

Are the national parks open?

About a third of the national parks, like Fort McHenry in Baltimore and the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site in Washington, were completely closed for the entire shutdown. Those parks will open as soon as theyre told by Interior Department officials to do so, said Kristen Brengel of the National Parks Conservation Association.

Parks that stayed open but experienced significant damage, like Californias and Death Valley National Park, might leave some areas closed to the public for repair or cleanup.

Other parks, like Mount Rainier in Washington state, werent maintained at all while the government was shut down. That means theres significant work to do before theyre ready for public visitors again.

In short, check the websites and social media accounts of the national parks before you plan a visit. Now that the government is open again, those accounts and websites are being actively maintained.

When will federal workers get paid?

Both chambers of Congress passed legislation to for affected federal workers, and Trump . But it will likely be at least several days before employees get paid.

Workers need to file time cards, agencies must sign off on them and payroll centers must process payments. The timing varies by agency.

US Coast Guard officials expect it to take three to five business days to process pay and benefits, a spokesperson said. But back pay may take as long as 10 days to land for employees in 31 departments who are represented by the National Treasury Employees Union, the groups president said.

Payment delays put further strain on federal workers, many of whom have dwindling funds in their bank accounts and are now expected back at work.

Are contractors getting back pay?

The government shutdown was particularly hard on contract employees, including many who work low wage jobs, like janitors and cafeteria workers.

Contractors arent guaranteed back pay, and whether they get paid for the past month is up to their employers.

Some Democratic senators have introduced legislation to ensure low wage federal contractors get back pay. A similar House bill stalled in 2017.

Will charities that were aiding federal workers keep up the help?

Renowned chef have served free meals to thousands of federal employees across the country. Though the government is open now, Andrés that his team will continue to provide meals through next week since employees still havent gotten paid.

Pop up donation centers in New York City will stay open through February 7 for people to give food and other essentials to employees affected by the shutdown. The centers are run by Food Bank for New York City with three New York officials.

And a donation site for nonperishable food items for government workers at Seattle Tacoma International Airport through Friday.
