Who is Lady Gabriella Windsor's 'scandal-prone' mother Princess Michael? Princess Michael of Kent was born Marie Christine Anna Agnes Hedwig Ida von Reinit in the Czech Republic
She married His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, the first cousin of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in Vienna in 1978
The pair have two children; Lord Frederick Windsor and Lady Gabriella Windsor. Despite being part of the British royal family, Princess Michael is known for the odd gaffe here and there
She was most recently criticised for wearing a blackamoor brooch with a racist figure of an African man at a Christmas banquet at Buckingham Palace
The brooch was particularly controversial as Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle, who is of African and European descent, was also at the banquet
The Princess later showed remorse and said she had not intended to cause distress, with a spokesman for the Princess later saying:: "The brooch was a gift and has been worn many times before
"Princess Michael is very sorry and distressed that it has caused offence. The 74-year-old also hit the headlines back in 2004 after she reportedly told a group of black diners at a restaurant in New York to "get back to the colonies"
She denied this and said she told her fellow diner she "would be glad to go back to the colonies in order to escape her noisy neighbours"
She was in trouble again of calling the older generation of the royal Family "boring for most people" during an interview in 2014
The Princess also publicly said animals do not have rights as they do not pay taxes, vote or have bank accounts
But in an article written Aatish Taseer, an ex-boyfriend of Lady Gabriella Windsor, for Vanity Fair, her 'nice side was revealed
Mr Taseer wrote: "Most everybody thought she was 'perfectly ghastly,' but I saw a nice side of Princess Michael
"She could be funny, intelligent, generous, and she was a lot more industrious than the other royals—she wrote books and decorated houses! "Her tragedy was she never understood that element of understatement that is so much the secret of survival for the royal family
" He added: "She failed to acquire that one quality that is the supreme attribute of British royalty: coziness
"Prince Michael was cozy; Prince Charles is cozy; the Queen, by all accounts, is a tea cozy
"But Princess Michael was, fatally, about as cozy as a yellow jacket on speed. "She was Marie Antoinette in a nation that finds bananas too exotic
Who is Lady Gabriella Windsor? Gabriella is the youngest child and was born on April 23, in 1981 at St Mary's Hospital in London
She went to school at Queen's Gate School in London, as well as Downe House School in Cold Ash, Berkshire
She graduated with a BA degree in comparative literature from Brown University in 2004
Gabriella now works as a senior director for Latin America, along with being a writer for The London Magazine
She is also a Board Director for the Playing for Change Foundation, which is a global music and arts education nonprofit organisation
She was in a three-year relationship with journalist Aatish Taseer using during the early 2000s and met him while she was at university
