How much sleep do YOU need to build muscle and lose fat?

I'm going to reveal the answer in this video - so LET'S GET STARTED!

Sleep is one of the most important, yet underrated functions of daily life…

And a lack of sleep can lead to many chronic health issues, including - in some rare cases

- even DEATH!

Lack of sleep will also make your journey to building muscle, and losing fat A LOT harder

than it needs to be...

But how much sleep do you REALLY need?

And is the quality of your sleep more important than the quantity?

Well, based on my own experience, and research - both the quality AND the quantity of your

sleep are equally important.

You've probably heard the phrase, " you can sleep when you're dead" before - and

that MAY be true to some extent…

BUT I'd make the argument that, if you DON'T sleep ENOUGH while you're alive...

You'll end up living like you're dead.

So, let's get right into my top tips for having the best quality of sleep possible:

Aim for at least 8 hours of quality sleep per night

In the book, "The Sleep Revolution", by Arianna Huffington, it states that…

40% of ALL Americans are sleep deprived.

Meaning that they get less than 6 hours of sleep per night, and those stats are pretty

similar all around the world.

Sleep deprivation has been linked to many different health challenges, some of which

include, brain damage, diabetes, inflammation, heart attacks, and cancers!

Lack of sleep is also correlated to weight gain… which carries its own set of health

issues, like slowing down your metabolism, increasing your glucose levels after eating,

And it also causes your body to produces more of the STRESS hormone called, "cortisol".

Cortisol is a hormone that you'd definitely want to keep under control, if your goal is

to lose stubborn belly fat, and also build muscle.

Lack of sleep will also hinder your bodies ability to recover after intense workouts,

and build muscle.

Aim for at least 8-9 hours of sleep per night - and you'll see your entire life improve,

including your bodies ability to lose fat, and build muscle!

So do yourself a favour, and starting NOW, make sleep a TOP PRIORITY in your life!

Set your bedroom up for sleep.

Most people's bedrooms aren't really set up to enjoy the benefits of quality sleep.

However, by simply modifying the following things, you'll drastically improve your

potential for quality sleeps - night after night.

Firstly, you should always make sure to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS.

Light is a trigger in the sleep-wake homeostasis, and when the lights are turned OFF, the body

naturally secrets MELATONIN, which helps us fall asleep faster.

That's why some people even take melatonin as a supplement before bedtime.

However, LIGHT (Especially BLUE light), from electronics, from light fixtures in your room,

or even light that creeps in from a door, or window - can interrupt or suppress this process.

In addition to darkening the room - based on research, the temperature of the room is

also critical to the quality of your sleep.

Research suggests that the ideal temperature for sleep, is 65 degrees Fahrenheit, which

is just above 18 Degrees Celsius.

Too hot, or too cold, and your sleep is gonna be disrupted.

Also, the type and quality of your mattress will also play an important role in how well

you sleep.

Which leads me to my next tip…

Invest in a healthy, high-quality mattress

The truth is, most mattresses available on the market today, are big pieces of junk.

And if that wasn't enough, the majority of them are also made from cheap and unhealthy

materials.

These materials release unhealthy Volatile Organic Compounds, which are usually referred

to as off-gassing.

And unfortunately, most people aren't even aware of this!

So, when it comes to choosing the right mattress - you'll want to choose one that's not

only comfortable, and made from high-quality, and dense materials…

But one that's also healthy for you to sleep on every night.

Watch my NEXT video to find out what type of mattress I personally use, and recommend…

Things you shouldn't eat before bed

Limiting, or cutting out sugar from your diet is always a wise decision - and I'd recommend

doing that either way - but it will also help you sleep better.

In addition, you shouldn't consume any caffeine, or alcohol for at least 6 hours before you

sleep, (and maybe even longer if you're very sensitive to it) - or else you'll have

trouble falling asleep, and more importantly, staying asleep!

Alcohol might help you pass out sooner, but it eventually DISRUPTS your sleep, and the

sugar content in alcohol doesn't help either - so it's best to be avoided.

It's also recommended not to eat or drink anything at least 1-2 hours before bed,

as you don't want to wake up to in the middle of the night to go to the washroom.

Exercise your way to a better body, and sleep.

Exercising on a regular basis is proven to help your body get a good night's sleep…

And a good sleep also helps the body recover after workouts - so it's a win-win situation.

Certain types of workouts also help your body produce endorphins, which is like a natural

relaxation drug, and will surely help you fall asleep like a baby.

It may take several weeks of this for the benefits to transfer, so STAY consistent - and

you will surely reap the rewards.

De-stress at least 30 minutes to an hour before bed

My final tip for sleeping like a baby...

Is to make TIME each night to wind down, and relax your body and mind.

Forget about all the STUFF that happened that day, and just do things that ease your mind.

Incorporate relaxing rituals like meditation before you sleep.

Things like smelling lavender, or drinking lavender tea before bed can be helpful too.

Practice falling asleep with gratitude every night.

And find peace with the silence of your thoughts…

LM Builders- I Need YOUR Opinions! - Duration: 1:16.

Hey, what's up?

It's TurtleLegoProductions.

Once again, sorry for not uploading an actual machine video for over a year.

I'll explain in an upcoming video.

But anyways, I'm asking for your opinions on the LEGO Machine Community.

The video will be a follow-up video on the last LEGO Machine Community video that I made and will

be based on other people's opinions rather than just my own.

To send your opinions, email me at turtlelegoproductions@gmail.com.

Also, submit ways on how the LEGO Machine Community can be enhanced, and feel more like a community.

Send me your suggestions from now till the week after my next upload.

All I need is your observation.

Just try to think of how the LMC has changed since you joined.

Talk about how channels have changed, how people have changed, how machines have

changed.

Talk about what good has happened along the way and what bad has happened along the way

(These are long-term situations) Just write all you want and I'll take out what I think

are the most valuable pieces of information.

I'm also currently in the process of programming and building a machine that nobody has made

in the LEGO Machine Community, so stay tuned for that.

That's all for now, see you then.

Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Breaks Down: 'I Need to Go Home and Find My Daughter' - Duration: 4:44.

Has Ronnie Ortiz-Magro reached his breaking point?  On last week's season premiere of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, the new dad finally came clean about the extent of his issues with Jen Harley, alleging she has kept their newborn baby from him for days at a time

And in PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's episode, it looks like the situation has to get worse before it gets better

"Ron is just very confused right now," says Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino as Ronnie cries in the bathroom

"He has so much in front of his face, he can't see."  "My roommates, they always said, 'You're going to be a great father, Ron,' " says Ronnie

"The thought of not seeing my daughter smile and laugh, it gets me going."  Suddenly, he emerges from the bathroom and announces that he's leaving

"I'm out. I'm going back home," he says. "I swear to God, I can't deal with this

I can't. It's just like, too much."  "Maybe you just need a day," suggests Pauly "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio

"I just need to f—ing go home, bro. That's what I need to do," says Ronnie. "I've got to get the f— out of here

I need to go home and find my daughter."  Ronnie starts putting on his shoes as his roommates stand around helplessly, unsure of what's even going on

"I don't even know where the hell Ronnie's going," says Pauly. "Is he going home, is he going to the baby mama's house? Where's the baby? Are they going to fight? I don't know what's going to go down

"  In the hallway, Ronnie, clearly emotional, runs into series creator/producer SallyAnn Salsano, who does her best to calm him down — but he's made up his mind

"I'm going home. I can't deal with this s—," he says. "I need to go home. I want to go home to my kid is what I want to do

"  Last week, the MTV stars opened up about their roommate's tumultuous relationship while appearing on PEOPLE Now

(The on-again, off-again couple welcomed a daughter, baby Ariana Sky, in April, but in the months that followed made headlines for multiple heated altercations in Las Vegas, some of which will unfold on the show

)  "You're going to see me giving him a little bit of tough love in the first couple of episodes," said Jenni "JWoww" Farley

"It just stems from, honestly, love. We love him, we want the best for him. Sometimes when people are in it, they don't realize what it's like looking from the outside in

You've kind of got to wake that person up."  "It was hard on us, too," said Mike

"Because we were trying to support him in this difficult situation that he was in and at certain times we didn't know what to do

"  "We still wanted to enjoy our vacation, too, you know!" quipped Pauly. "But what's dope about our show is people go through what he's going through and you get to actually live it, see it, breathe it with us

"  "You get to see what that's actually like, and that's what cool," he continued

"You tune in and see how we handle it, how he handles it, how we help him and how we're there for our brother

"  And at the end of the day, Ronnie is focused on fatherhood.  "He's a great dad, he's a great person, he has a good heart," said Deena Cortese

"I think that he's going to be an amazing father."  Jersey Shore Family Vacation airs Thursdays (8 p

m. ET) on MTV.

I Need To Borrow 30 Chairs... (I'm An Idiot) - Storytime | Kate's Adventures (ScottishGeeks cameo) - Duration: 6:16.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well.

Today I wanted to tell you a silly little story of something that happened to me recently.

In the grand scheme of things it isn't the most interesting storytime of all time

but hopefully it will make you smile and chuckle a little

like it has for the friends who have heard this story so far.

They've just thought it was ridiculous

and to be honest, it is a little bit ridiculous! So anyways I hope you enjoy.

A while ago I came across one of my friend's videos on Facebook.

She runs a kids club

and the kids were playing this game that looked so fun

and it involved a load of chairs.

I was thinking back to when I was a kid

and I thought "I would have loved that game as a kid".

and even just now - you know - that'd be like a pretty cool game to play with adults.

You know maybe we could get a bunch of chairs in, get some alcohol going,

you know it would even still be fun as an adult, it just looked really fun.

So I decided to leave a comment on that video

and I thought my intention of wanting to play the game myself

was kind of obvious, you know kind of joking and stuff.

So I just said "I need to borrow 30 chairs"

and then like "..." like I was kind of imagining what I could do with these chairs.

Like I thought my humor was obvious in that.

And the next day I had a message from somebody.

"Hello Kate, I've seen you're looking for chairs.

The chairs in the video are being removed from the community center.

You're welcome to remove as many as you need,

however we cannot take any responsibility for the chairs

or people using them after you remove them from the center.

We're not using them due to the feet rubbers needing replaced.

They're marking the soft floor in the main hall.

Apart from that, they're in working order."

When I got that message, I started to feel a little bit stupid.

Because what I'd meant as [THOUGHTFUL] "I need to borrow 30 chairs..."

had came across as [DEMANDING]"I need to borrow 30 chairs!"

And this person had actually reached out to me

with such a long and thoughtful message

offering me as many chairs as I wanted.

The ones that were actually in the video that I'd watched, like the star chairs.

I know that like humor doesn't always translate well on the internet.

Like one person's humor doesn't necessarily match up with somebody else's,

but until that moment it had never occurred to me that somebody might read my post

and think I am actually in need of 30 chairs.

It also got me and my friends thinking

as to why this person thought I needed 30 chairs so urgently.

I was thinking maybe I'm a school teacher and the classrooms got looted over the summer.

So now I'm needing the kids to bring their own chairs to class

or they're just like standing up for 8 hours a day, I don't really know.

Or maybe I was planning a campfire or something, I don't know.

Like why would somebody suddenly need 30 chairs?

And to be fair this person doesn't know me,

maybe I have my own community center or my own kids club and I needed chairs

but I feel like there are better places to go to find chairs than commenting on a Facebook video.

Like it was it was nice of him to offer

and I do understand that they weren't going to be needing these chairs,

but at the same time it's really really funny that somebody read that post

and thought I genuinely needed 30 chairs.

As a side note to this I was also asked recently

if I was printing a 40 page document off at the library

or if I was printing the same thing off 40 times.

And again it just got me thinking do I look like a school teacher or something?

Why does somebody suddenly think that I need something 30 to 40 times over?

But anyways like I do understand people are trying to be helpful and friendly,

I just keep finding myself in these situations for some reason!

I went to reply back to the Facebook message

and after such a long and thoughtful message from the guy,

I felt bad kind of telling him that I didn't actually need 30 chairs.

Like the part of me saying I needed 30 chairs was a joke.

And also who jokes about needing 30 chairs? It's just a weird thing to joke about.

Why- Like which idiot apart from myself jokes about needing 30 chairs?

Nobody does it, nobody goes "I need 30 chairs" [RIMSHOT IMITATION].

It felt too awkward to tell him that the whole needing 30 chairs thing was a joke

and I actually had all the chairs that I needed for my current requirements.

So I told the guy that I found 30 chairs somewhere else. Overnight.

Yeah he's probably on to me, he probably realizes what happened now.

And my dad when I was telling him this story was like "Well this was a bad idea

because the 30 chairs that they're getting rid of need replaced.

So if you tell them that you found 30 chairs elsewhere

maybe they're gonna ask you where you got the 30 chairs from cause they need a supplier"

and then that would have been like a whole other - you know - big web of lies going on.

But luckily he didn't reply after that.

Um I'm guessing maybe they found another home for the 30 chairs

[WHISPERS] I have no idea, I don't know.

But I'm ready to put this all to bed now.

If you're going to crack a joke on the internet

maybe double check that you're not being ridiculously cryptic about it.

Try and put in like an exclamation point or a smiley or something like a "haha", "LOL".

Just something to help people realize that you're not actually in an hour of need.

Don't joke about excessive amounts of furniture because that's just not funny.

Like why- Like why would somebody joke about furniture?

I don't know, I'm an idiot, I hope you enjoyed this video.

If you did feel free to comment down below let me know what you think

and thank you so so much for watching everybody, cheerio!
