U.S. President Donald Trump says the United States is (quote) "doing well" in its diplomatic

efforts with North Korea, despite word talks between the two sides might be breaking down.

His remark comes a matter of days after he called off Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's

scheduled fourth visit to Pyongyang.

Reuters also reported Wednesday that President Trump highlighted the role of China,... explaining

that Beijing has made Washington's efforts to denuclearize the North more difficult.

S. Korea says resumption of joint military exercises with U.S. - Duration: 2:12.

The combined military drills between South Korea and the U.S. were halted in June as

a gesture of good faith to North Korea after it agreed to abandon its nuclear weapons.

Well now, with little progress made on that front,... the U.S. has opened the door to

restarting the exercises Pyongyang dreads.

However, Seoul claims to have heard nothing of the possible resumption,... adding it's

a subject that needs to be discussed between the allies.

Park Hee-jun reports.

South Korea's presidential office says the issue of suspending joint military exercises

with the United States requires further discussion between the two countries.

This comes after U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis said at a news conference at

the Pentagon on Tuesday, local time,... that the U.S. has no future plans to call off any

drills with South Korea.

"We have no plans at this time to suspend any more exercises.

We will work very closely, as I said, with the Secretary of State, and what he needs

done we will certainly do to reinforce that effort.

But at this time there is no discussion about further suspensions."

Earlier in June after the Kim-Trump summit in Singapore,... Mattis announced that the

U.S. had "suspended" the exercises "indefinitely."

As a result,... the annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise was cancelled in August.

Just hours after Mattis made his latest remarks,...

Blue House Spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom told reporters that South Korea and U.S. had not

discussed the matter.

Although the earlier decision only applied to this year's exercises,... he said that

any changes in the agreement will be negotiated in step with the progress made in denuclearization

talks between Pyongyang and Washington.

South Korea's foreign ministry says it sees the comments as an extension of Washington's

previous agreement with Seoul to suspend the joint exercises, and that no new agreement

has been made.

It added that it will continue to work closely with the U.S. for the denuclearization of

the Korean Peninsula.

Seoul's defense ministry also says that it had heard nothing of Mattis' announcement,...

and that the issue has not yet been discussed by the two sides.

The Dark Origins of #Pedophile Rings in the US - Duration: 15:35.

Hello and welcome, I'm Gina Shakespeare

On this episode of Declassified, a researcher has reported

that soviets created child-trafficking rings in

the West for blackmail.

Rings that are believed to be still operating.

This story gives a background account of an alleged Soviet operation

to use children for honeypots in order to lure foreign governments

into committing serious crimes so they can be blackmailed.

We believe the account is credible enough to warrant telling and include additional

research to support it.

Just before we get underway, please feel free to

subscribe to our channel and hit the notification's button,

that way you won't miss out on any other upcoming episodes.

Let's get started.

A scholar on Soviet Russia has uncovered claims that former General Secretary Yuri Andropov

wanted to subvert the West by creating child trafficking

and pedophile networks to blackmail

business leaders and politicians.

Details on the program were uncovered by Jeffrey Nyquist

in his research on communist regimes

and their influence on the West.

His main source is the grandson of a former member of the Soviet Central Committee who

opposed the program and was possibly killed because of his opposition.

Two other sources of his were defectors from the Soviet Union who revealed information

on Soviet experiments on pedophilia and sexual perversion.

All three requested to have their identities withheld,

as they believe that this abuse continues,

and speaking on record would endanger their lives.

The Soviet leaders had begun planning the program in the late 1970s,

when Andropov was chairman of the KGB—the Soviet intelligence agency

that was set to run the operations.

Nyquist noted, however, that the program was controversial

even by the standards of the Soviet leaders.

His contact, who is currently living in the West, said his grandfather was part of a faction

within the Central Committee that opposed the program; yet the dissenters, including

his grandfather, were believed to have been killed for their opposition, and the program

was able to move forward.

Nyquist said"This grandfather told his family, 'Andropov is building networks for child

trafficking and pedophilia,

and this is a project the KGB has begun internationally, around the world,'"

The purpose of the program was to seduce politicians and business leaders, then control them as

agents through blackmail.

The grandfather understood what it meant to oppose Andropov.

According to Nyquist, he told his family that Andropov would kill him if the program prevailed,

and that if he died, his wife would need to flee with their children to another city;

and that if the KGB ever knocked on their door, they would again need to flee,

and to "never look back."

Nyquist said "And, of course, that is what happened.

The grandfather died under mysterious circumstances,"

"Whatever the struggle was within the central committee, he lost."

His family fled, as he requested.

Around the same time, two other eyewitness sources of Nyquist's say the Soviet Union

began conducting experiments in its Komsomol camps on how to grow sexual perversions.

The camps were for members of the communist Young Pioneers

and included children aged 10 to 15.

Nyquist interprets these Kosmosol events as connected to the Andropov plan

his source told him about.

According to Nyquist, the Soviets were organizing orgies in some of the camps, and say

"they were trying to locate perverts to recruit them."

Nyquist also said"The idea was that in these Komsomol camps they were looking for people

who had psychological problems that caused them to become sexually perverse in different ways,"

"It was like they were studying different perversions and the causes,

and how to cultivate that, how to extend it, what kind of things draw people toward blacker perversions."

The program the grandfather described was a classic honeytrap

a method of espionage to lure people into compromising sexual encounters for blackmail.

This program took it a step further, however, by using children as the bait.

It was a form of "false flag recruitment," according to Nyquist,

where the KGB agents likely did not reveal themselves as agents to their targets.

He noted that "if the KGB honeytraps somebody, they don't know who they're working for,

because the KGB officer may be somebody who speaks English without an accent who merely

references themselves as part of an organized crime group."

Accounts by child victims and police reports reveal shocking claims of sexual abuse,

dark occult practices, and the involvement of high-level officials.

After a person has been compromised in the honeytrap,

the agents or the front organization can continue offering

services to the target in exchange for work,

while also maintaining evidence to blackmail the targets if they have qualms about cooperating.

The tactic is still widely used, including by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The CCP was accused in 2015 of using attractive women to seduce spies from the British intelligence agency

and lure them into honeytraps to obtain state secrets.

A top-secret MI6 memo obtained by the UK's Mirror news outlet said the Chinese spies were

"aggressively" targeting spies and their families.

Honeytraps were also very common under the Soviet Union.

Former KGB General Oleg Kalugin explained it once, stating according to Foreign Policy that,

"In America, in the West, occasionally you ask your men to stand up for their country.

There's very little difference.

In Russia, we just ask our young women to lay down."

In conventional honeytraps, the target may be controlled either by a lover who is secretly a special agent,

or with evidence of an extramarital affair—something that in politics can ruin a career.

With pedophilia, however, the scandal and consequences are much more severe,

and the effects of the honeytrap are much more binding.

Nyquist referred to it as "the ultimate blackmail."

The timing of the Soviet child trafficking program corresponds with a sudden uptick of

pedophile rings uncovered in the West.

While it's likely similar forms of abuse had existed previously,

the new scandals aligned closely with what Nyquist's source warned of.

In the 1980s and into the '90s, shocking cases of pedophilia and extreme abuse

began to emerge in the United States, Australia, and Europe.

Many of the cases involved high-level officials.

Some were prosecuted, but many were thrown out due to lack of physical evidence and

child testimony not being recognized.

Among the most prominent cases was that of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile

accused of holding underage girls as sex slaves on his private Caribbean island.

He flew numerous top politicians and business leaders to the island on his private plane,

dubbed by news outlets as "The Lolita Express."

According to press reports, the plane has a bed that was used for sex with young girls.

According to the same reports, flight logs from Epstein's plane show that former President

Bill Clinton flew on The Lolita Express 26 times.

Numerous girls alleged they were sexually abused by Epstein, and Epstein was charged

by the Palm Beach police department.

Yet after a plea deal, he was sentenced in 2008 and served only 13 months in prison for

one charge of soliciting prostitution from a 14-year-old girl.

A 2006 court filing, cited by the New York Post, says that a police search of Epstein's mansion found

he wired it with hidden cameras to record his guests engaging in orgies with underage girls,

which he could use for blackmail.

Epstein was very well connected.

It has been reported that he kept contact numbers of figures including Tony Blair,

Naomi Campbell, Dustin Hoffman,

Michael Bloomberg, and Richard Branson, but no flight logs have

ever surfaced showing any of them ever flew to Epstein's island.

Many of his A-list contacts dropped him after his 2008 conviction.

Often overlooked in Epstein's case is that the father of his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell

was deceased media tycoon Robert Maxwell,

whom Ghislaine accused of sexually abusing her.

Robert Maxwell may have also been a Soviet spy.

According to FBI files released in 2013, Maxwell, who was born in Czechoslovakia

and was living in the United Kingdom,

was believed to be using his Pergamon Press media empire in the

1950s to provide intelligence to the Soviet Union.

The heavily redacted reports noted that when Maxwell and his business partner Kurt Wallersteiner

were running their Anglo-Continental Exchange firm in London in 1953,

both had "allegedly been recruited by the Soviet intelligence service for espionage purposes."

Former FBI agent Marc Ruskin said in a previous interview that two agents from the Belgian

national police told him of a child abuse ring in Belgium in the mid-1990s

that also allegedly involved government officials.

Ruskin said, "they had been working on a case that involved political corruption,

and also there was a child pornography aspect to it as well,"

"And as their investigation proceeded, they began to develop subjects

targets of the investigation— who were high-level public officials."

As their investigations grew deeper, however, the agents were called into their supervisor's

office and told to drop the case.

Ruskin said, referring to political corruption of law enforcement, that

"this was Western Europe—not some undeveloped country with a dictator.

If it can happen in Western Europe, it can happen anywhere."

What Ruskin reported happened in Belgium, shocking claims of a pedophile ring servicing

high-level officials whose investigation was hushed up,

has happened elsewhere in the West.

Unfortunately, there is no single source tracking reports of pedophile rings,

and there is a pattern of mysterious events obstructing their investigation

when they are reported.

Starting in 1980, victims of pedophile networks that fit the picture outlined by the Soviets

began to step forward in the West, but a new element began to be commonly reported.

Accounts by child victims and police reports reveal shocking claims of sexual abuse,

dark occult practices, and the involvement of high-level officials.

This began the so-called Satanic panic, which lasted into the mid-90s.

It resulted in prison sentences for only a handful of perpetrators,

and also led to multiple claims of government-level conspiracies behind the rings.

Among the most famous cases was the Franklin child prostitution ring case from 1988 to 1990.

The case in Omaha, Nebraska, alleged that high-level politicians were involved in a

child prostitution ring,

where children were flown to private parties of politicians

where they were abused.

Victims alleged other crimes including cannibalism, human sacrifice, and drug trafficking.

The defendants were eventually found not guilty, but the way the case played out was criticized

as a cover-up.

The three main witnesses were instead charged with perjury, and many key figures in the

case would later turn up dead.

Documented problems with the case were later compiled by former state Sen. John DeCamp

in his book, "The Franklin Cover-up: Child Abuse, Satanism, and Murder in Nebraska,"

where he states: "Two grand juries, one local and one federal, had a mandate to consider

these and other charges of child abuse connected with the Franklin Credit Union.

They indicted the victim-witnesses for perjury instead!"

DeCamp also states that evidence in the case "leads into drug-trafficking, money-laundering,

pornography, child prostitution, and the kidnapping and sale of children in different parts of

the United States, and abroad."

Award-winning author and filmmaker Tim Tate produced a documentary on the Omaha case,

uncovering many similar findings.

The Discovery Channel was set to broadcast the documentary "Conspiracy of Silence"

in May 1994, yet abruptly canceled before it could air.

Tate explains on his website the sensitivity with covering the topic of Satanic ritual abuse,

noting that in his experience, "touch it, and—professionally, at least—you die."

The full documentary, which was in the late stages of editing, was later published online.

In a case in the United Kingdom, former British Member of Parliament Geoffrey Dickens,

who died in 1995, investigated what he said, according to The Washington Post, was a pedophile ring

of powerful individuals with "big, big names."

Barry Dickens, the son of Geoffrey Dickens, told the BBC that "My father thought that

the dossier at the time was the most powerful thing that had ever been produced, with the

names that were involved and the power that they had."

His son provided the research to British authorities,

but files went missing in 2014 around evidence of break-ins.

An additional 114 documents on the alleged pedophile ring

also went missing around the same time.

The Guardian reported, "The revelation that further relevant documents have disappeared

will raise fresh fears of an establishment cover-up."

According to Nyquist, when rumors of high-level Satanic-themed pedophile rings again emerged in 2016,

his contact whose grandfather detailed the Soviet plot became nervous and afraid.

He said, "I have to tell you he became very frightened, last year,"

"I went to breach the subject with him again,

and he said 'absolutely I do not want to talk about this;

this scares me too much.'

Because he believed this is such a significant part of the Russian power,

these pedophile networks, that if you talk about it you might be dead."

Nyquist said his sources did not mention the element of Satanic abuse

in the alleged Soviet-backed pedophile rings,

but he noted that, as someone who has studied communist methods

of infiltration and subversion,

it doesn't seem unusual.

Nyquist said "When the communists design an attack,

they use such horrible methods; one of the advantages

of a horrible method is that nobody believes that anyone would do such a thing," he said.

The elements of forcing victims to commit ritual murder—

and killing any who refused to participate

—would also work as a control mechanism over anyone involved,

since they would all be guilty, he said.

He said the overall system, if true, would have given the Soviets and later post-Soviet

participants significant power in establishing networks of influence and control.

He noted that even just among business leaders, since they often fund politicians and political causes,

by blackmailing them "you're suddenly getting into the fringes of the political system.

You're able to penetrate the political system."

Nyquist said "Pedophilia, if you look at it, is an important tool for corrupting, controlling, and manipulating

a foreign government, and sabotaging its economy, sabotaging its political process, even sowing confusion,"

"This whole thing can be used in all kinds of creative ways to hurt the target country."

That's all the time we have for today

Thank you for watching and I'll see you soon.

The Crazy Time When the US Delivered Mail by Missile - Duration: 5:16.

This video was made possible by Dashlane.

Protect your online identity for free at dashlane.com/HAI.

Missiles are pretty awesome as long as they're not pointed at you.

Meanwhile, the mail is not very awesome according to the views I get on mail related topics.

Put them together, though, and you get a completely awesome neutral thing—missile mail.

Now, this of course sounds crazy and impractical but for a while, missile transported mail

was what many believed to be the future.

There are plenty of ways that mail has been or is delivered beyond just planes, trains,

and automobiles.

For example, 100 years ago mail was delivered by sled dog in Alaska and by telemark skiers

in Colorado.

Still today, mail is delivered by boat for houses on Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, by helicopter

for residents of Little Diomede, Alaska, and by mule for those that live in Supai, Arizona.

Only about 3,000 people ever, though, have had their official US mail transported by

rocket.

In the 1950s, despite both telegraph and phones existing, the mail was still a major means

of communication thanks to its low cost.

People cared as much about the speed of the mail then as they do about their internet

speed nowadays.

Trains are slow, cars are faster, planes are even faster, but missiles are fastest.

Therefore that was the high IQ idea—delivering mail by missile.

Now, you might notice a few issues with this plan—missiles are expensive, hard to retrieve,

and oh yeah, they are literally supersonic death machines.

Even if you take the the explosive out of a rocket, it plus the ground is not a recipe

for success… unless you're going for widespread death and destruction but that's bad, I'm

told.

Nonetheless, this had been tried a few times through history at a small scale.

Not the death and destruction, to clarify, the US tried that at full scale, but the missile

mail.

In the beginning these tests generally took the form of just loading a few letters into

a small missile that would be sent over a river or field but during World War Two killing

enthusiasts put a bunch of effort into developing accurate, long-range missiles.

By the 50s, these could travel hundreds of miles and reliably land on a small target.

That advancement coincided with the reign of Arthur Ellsworth Summerfield, Postmaster

General.

Much like being a YouTuber, being Postmaster General was once super well respected.

This was because the mail was once incredibly important and therefore Summerfield had significant

enough powers to advocate for the testing and implementation of rocket mail as he really,

truly believed it was the future.

He rather famously said, "Before man reaches the moon your mail will be delivered within

hours from New York to California, to England, to India, or to Australia by guided missiles.

We stand on the threshold of rocket mail."

In reality, all that he was on the threshold of was wasting a lot of money.

In 1959 an official US Post Office Branch was established on the USS Barbero—a 311

foot long submarine capable of firing missiles.

While the Barbero was docked at its home base in Norfolk, Virginia, a Regulus cruise missile

was loaded onboard which itself was not loaded with the nuclear payload it was designed for.

It was loaded with 3,000 pieces of mail.

The submarine then left Norfolk, headed into the Atlantic Ocean, and sailed south.

After a few days it reached roughly here and at 12 noon the submarine fired its special

mail missile.

After 22 minutes in the air the missile splashed down just off the coast of Naval Station Mayport

in Florida from where it was subsequently retrieved.

From there, the letters were removed and brought to the nearest non-floating post office to

continue their journey to their destinations.

Now, considering that most of the letters were headed to DC, Europe, and the rest of

the world, this rocket moved the mail, well, in the exact wrong direction.

All the letters in the missile were actually written by Postmaster General Summerfield

to the US president, politicians, and the postmaster generals of every other Universal

Postal Union member country.

This test was a mix of the military showing off to the soviets and Summerfield showing

off to politicians and his postmaster friends.

Today, the letters that took that rocket ride are hugely popular with philatelic enthusiasts—those

that collect stamps and related materials—and are sold regularly for almost $500 but that's

about all this test was good for.

The missile, without even considering the days it took to get into position, flew 100

miles in 22 minutes making it slower than a normal jet plane.

Even though modern missiles are much faster they're still hugely expensive and often

can't be reused.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why mail delivery by rocket never caught on.

With widespread jet planes and the internet nowadays, there just isn't the need anymore

for super fast mail delivery.

There is the need for two other things though—a reliable means to keep your online identity

safe and drone delivered quesadillas.

The good news is that one of those exists.

The bad news is that I still need to make my own quesadillas like a caveman but at least

I have better online security than a caveman.

That's because I use Dashlane which tracks all the online accounts I have and alerts

me if any website I use has had a security breach.

It also tracks the dark web to see if any of your data is up for sale, has a built in

VPN so that your wifi connection will be secure even on insecure wifi networks, and keeps

all your passwords in one super secure place so you can have complex ones without forgetting

them.

Best of all, you can try all these features for free for 30 days by signing up at dashlane.com/HAI.

If you don't find them worth it it's no big deal because Dashlane's free service

is still great but if you do continue using premium you can get 10% off by using the code

25 Bizarre Facts About Each US State (Part 2) - Duration: 11:09.

We did the first round of bizarre facts about each US State and now we're back for round

two.

That's right, in this list, we're going to wrap up going through strange little facts

about each US state.

As we've discovered so far, the United States is full of weird happenings and history.

From uncomfortable festivals to Bigfoot traps, you're going to want to stick around

for what we're about to cover.

Ready to see what odd things the other States have been up to?

I'm Mike with List25 and Here are 25 Bizarre Facts About Each US State, Part 2.

25.

Montana - Testicle Festival For 35 years, this festival in Clinton, Montana,

hosted some of the wildest antics on planet Earth.

Hosting weird games, tons of music, plenty of debauchery, and thousands of Rocky Mountain

oysters, this wild party had people parading around town in costumes, or wearing nothing

at all.

However, in recent years, the festival has been canceled due to several deaths and low

attendance.

24.

Nebraska - Kickstarting the Apocalypse Believing that it was required to have a red

heifer born in Jerusalem to move along the second coming of Jesus Christ, a Nebraskan

farmer, along with Reverend Clyde Lott, bought and sent planeloads of these red heifers

(at $1,000 per heifer) to the Holy Land.

Unfortunately for them, all the heifers were rejected and the apocalypse hasn't happened

yet.

23.

Nevada - The Black Mailbox Many don't realize famous stories can have

unintended consequences.

In this case, Area 51 and UFO sightings set off a panic and fascination for thousands

around the country.

Unfortunately for poor Steve Medlin, he received the brunt it simply for living nearby.

A rancher along "Extraterrestrial Highway," he received tons of mail asking about Area

51.

He grew so tired of it, he made "The Black Mailbox," a mailbox with his name and the

name "Aliens" for all the mail to extraterrestrials.

Sadly, in 2015, the mailbox was taken down.

22.

New Hampshire - Chicken Farmer On Route 103 in Newberry, New Hampshire, a

large boulder is painted in red and white with the message, "Chicken Farmer I still

love you."

Some believe the rock first was painted as early as the 1970's by a boy trying to send

a message to a local girl on a chicken farm.

It remained unchanged for decades.

When it got worn down, locals would paint it to make sure it remained intact.

However, in 2011, someone complained about graffiti, and the city had it painted over.

Sure enough, someone repainted it back on the rock and locals have petitioned to keep

it there.

21.

New Jersey - Cockroach Derby The New Jersey Pest Management Association

holds a cockroach derby every presidential election to see which candidate will win.

Cartoon pictures are placed on top of each cockroach's back and they race.

Of course, in 2016, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump raced in the derby.

Clinton won.

20.

New Mexico - Psychologists to Play Dress Up Upset by all the psychiatrists and psychologists

used as expert witnesses in trials in New Mexico, former Senator Duncan Scott proposed

an amendment on a bill requiring them to dress up like wizards, wearing long white beards

and waving a wand around during testimony.

The Senate passed the bill, but it was ultimately removed in the house.

19.

New York - Albert Einstein's Eyes During Albert Einstein's autopsy in 1955,

his personal physician, Henry Adams, took his brain but more notably, his eyes.

According to him, he snipped them and they came off clean as a whistle.

After that, he placed Einstein's eyes in a safe deposit box somewhere in New York.

Just let that sink in for a moment.

Einstein's eyes are still out there somewhere in a safe deposit box.

18.

North Carolina - Hoi Toider While many languages are spoken in the US,

there's an English dialect spoken in a couple parts of North Carolina that most people living

outside the area would be hard pressed to understand.

The region has its own pocket of unique language.

17.

North Dakota - Spinning Ice In 2013, a very strange natural phenomenon

was recorded on the Sheyenne River in North Dakota.

It was a large spinning circle of ice.

It looked like a giant record on a turntable.

Scientists explained it was like tiny bits of ice all caught up in an eddy.

16.

Ohio - Cornhenge In Dublin, Ohio, a monument to an inventor

of various corn species resides in perfect form.

Called "Cornhenge," it was commissioned by the Dublin Arts Council and completed in 1994.

It consists of 109 6-foot tall ears of corn statues.

15.

Oklahoma - Space Debris The only person known to get hit by space

debris was Lottie Williams, a Tulsa, Oklahoma resident.

In 1997 she saw a flash of light and instantly was struck by a piece of metal.

NASA confirmed it was likely space debris.

Fortunately, Williams was not injured.

An estimated 5,400 tons of space debris has fallen to Earth over a forty year time span;

luckily, the chance of being hit by any of it is very, very small.

14.

Oregon - Bigfoot Trap Near Jacksonville, Oregon, they take Bigfoot

sightings very seriously, so much so that they built the first and only Bigfoot trap

in the United States.

After someone claimed to find 18-inch footprints resembling human feet, the North American

Wildlife Research Team built the trap in 1974.

For six years, they filled the trap with animal carcasses.

Usually, the trap was only set off by a hungry bear, though.

13.

Pennsylvania - Male Cop As Amish Woman From 2013 to 2014, a male cop dressed up as

an Amish woman in Pulaski Township.

Why did he do this, you might ask?

Well, apparently he was going undercover to catch a man exposing himself to Amish children.

The Amish community was fully supportive of him so that he could potentially catch the

predator.

He never caught him, but as it turns out, a similar person was caught in another county

for doing the same thing.

12.

Rhode Island - Nuclear Explosion This little state experienced quite a big

explosion in 1964 when a uranium recovery worker made a big mistake at Wood River Junction.

Rather than adding trichloroethane to a tank of uranium-235, he added more uranium

which led to the explosion.

Exposed to plenty of radiation, the worker died within 48 hours.

11.

South Carolina - The Caning of Charles Sumner On May 22nd, 1856, the U.S. Senate transformed

into a WWE wrestling match when South Carolina Representative Preston Brooks walked up to

unsuspecting Senator Charles Sumner and beat him over the head with his cane.

He beat him several times before Sumner was carried away.

Brooks walked out of the Senate chamber unrestrained and became a hero in his state.

Why the violent act?

Sumner was talking trash against one of Brooks' kinsman, Andrew Butler.

10.

South Dakota - Mashed Potato Wrestling If you ever wanted to wrestle with another

human being in a vat of mashed potatoes, now's your chance to head over to Clark, South Dakota,

and get in the ring.

That's right.

Mashed Potato Wrestling is a thing that happens.

Cause, why not?

9.

Tennessee - Murderous Mary After an elephant named Mary was goaded by

an inexperienced innkeeper, she charged and trampled him to death.

In reply, the circus took the elephant to nearby Erwin, Tennessee, and hung the elephant

with a railway crane.

8.

Texas - Blowout In 1854, a handful of Kentucky settlers moved

out to Texas, creating a small community that would later become Blowout, Texas.

In that area was a bat cave with a thousand bats and a substantial build-up of bat guano

which is full of ammonia and other flammable gases.

One night, lightning struck at the mouth of the cave, igniting a massive explosion of

bats and their prospective guano.

And that's how their little town got its name.

7.

Utah - UN Free Zone In 2001, the town of La Verkin came together

in a council meeting and voted on becoming a "UN Free Zone."

Even more bizarre, the council put in the ordinance that United Nations supporters must

come forward and put a sign on their lawn or business with the words, "U.N.

Work Conducted here."

They also had to file their support with the council and pay fees.

6.

Vermont - No Liquor for You!

While it's not a big deal for most people, if you are visiting Vermont and want to buy

alcohol to bring back to your vacation rental or hotel, you might come up empty handed.

Why?

Unless you are at a bar, Vermont will not sell alcohol to out-of-state licenses.

5.

Virginia - Home of Stonewall Jackson's Arm New York isn't the only state with random

body parts resting.

Stonewall Jackson's amputated left arm is buried in Lacy Family Cemetery in Ellwood.

For those who don't know, he lost said arm after his own men mistook him for the enemy.

4.

Washington - Vashon Island Bike Tree No one is really sure how it got there but

raised 7-feet high inside the trunk of a tree is an old, rusty bicycle.

Many stories and legends have been spread about it, usually involving a boy in 1910

leaning his bike against the tree and it swallowed up the bike over time.

Others just think its a big hoax.

Regardless, it's likely not going anywhere.

3.

West Virginia - Roadkill Cook Off Hosted in Pocahontas County, the annual West

Virginia Roadkill Cook-Off is a beloved tradition by locals where they can eat squirrel

gravy over biscuits, teriyaki-marinated bear, or deer sausage.

After you get your fill, you can burn it off by running the Possum Trot 5k.

2.

Wisconsin - Trollway If you're a fan of trolls, and not those that

grace the comments section, the main street in Mount Horeb is a place you'll want to visit.

The "Trollway," as it's dubbed, is lined with hand-carved wooden trolls.

1.

Wyoming - Largest Jackalope The Jackalope is a hoax invented by Wyoming

brothers Douglas and Ralph Herrick after they affixed antlers to a jackrabbit and sold the

taxidermied animals and a tall tale to anyone who would believe them.

The myth spread, of course, and today you can find the largest Jackalope in Dubois,

Wyoming.

Though, why you'd want to is anyone's guess.

Why is the DOLLAR the World's RESERVE CURRENCY? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 11:58.

You've heard this a thousand times: the American dollar is the World's reserve currency,

the hegemonic

currency in the world today.

And we all have that "smartass" friend who thinks he knows everything about

geopolitics and says that the dollar supremacy is… the cornerstone of the so called New

World Order.

The

illuminati, the Bildelberg club and George Soros are ready to do anything to keep this

supremacy… at any

cost…

OK, OK, so if you wanna throw one of these self proclaimed pundits off, you just need

to ask him or her

this question: what does it really mean that the dollar is the hegemonic currency?

I mean… how does the

United States benefit from having a currency that is being used for the international trade?

Is it really

that important?

Really?

And the most important question of all…

Could the American Dollar lose its

status?

Could it be replaced by other currencies like the EURO or the Chinese YUAN?

Today we are going to

answer all of these questions but before we do… let's take a look back at history.

If you've been following VisualPolitik for a long time, you already know that Argentina

is in dire

Straits and they need to ask for Money loans from International investors.

In these cases, the usual

procedure is to print what we call a DEBT BOND.

This is a piece of paper that says 'If you give me THIS

amount of money, I will give it back to you in, say, 10 years, with interest'.

So far, so good.

But

imagine this situation.

Let's say that you lend 3000 Argentinian pesos to the Argentinian Government.

In

the moment we do this video, summer 2018, those 3000 pesos equal 100 American dollars.

But…

What would

happen in the year 2028?

We don't know!

But chances are, the Argentinian currency will have been devalued

more and more.

By then, maybe those 3000 pesos wouldn't even buy a bag of 'Doritos'

This is why, international investors, smart as they are, say to Argentina 'Wait, wait

a minute, dude…

OK,

I will lend you that money, don't worry…

BUT you will denominate that debt in Dollars…

American dollars!

This way, I give you 300 bucks and you will pay me back 300 bucks plus interest…

Understood, man?'

Yes, my dear viewers, this is how an investor protects himself from would-be devaluations.

But hold on just a second because we aren't just talking about Argentina!

In fact, most of the World's

countries choose the greenback as the currency in which they issue their notes.

And this is why, you can

read headlines like this one in every financial newspaper.

https://www.gob.mx/shcp/documentos/el-gobierno-federal-emite-nuevo-bono-global-en-dolares-a-plazo-de-10-

anos EL GOBIERNO FEDERAL (Mexicano) EMITE NUEVO

BONO GLOBAL EN DÓLARES A PLAZO DE 10 AÑOS

The Mexican Government will issue debt bonds denominated in dollars to be paid in 10 years.

As you can imagine, we are not just talking about governments here.

For example, anytime ARAMCO, the

Saudi Arabian oil company wants to sell their dinosaur juice to, say, India, they say 'Wait,

wait a

moment, dude… what are you doing with those… coins I don't even know how much they're

worth… no way dude,

you are paying in dollars, American dollars, because this is a currency I trust'

This explains why 60% of the foreign reserve currencies held at the central Banks are dollars.

In the

world, there over 1.67 TRILLION dollars in circulation and more than half of them are

outside US.

There

is no international law that says the dollar must be the global reference.

But most people trust this

currency for international trade.

And here it comes the real question…

WHAT-IS-THIS-USE-FOR?

I mean, how does America benefit from having

their currency circulating all over the place?

Well… it depends.

If you are a company or a regular

citizen… this is completely irrelevant to you.

Arguably, we could say it's worse.

BUT, if you are the American Government… oh boy!

Having the hegemonic currency is like a gift from

heaven…

Why?

We're gonna tell you straight ahead!

A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS

We told you a thousand times here at VisualPolitik… the worst thing that can happen to a country

is

HYPERINFLATION.

This means that all of a sudden, prices go sky high.

But how is hyperinflation created?

You also know the answer… in most of the cases, this is a 100% monetary phenomenon.

If a Central Bank

starts printing money like there's no tomorrow, the currency devalues.

But why?

What's the connection between printing money and losing the value of that money?

You see… when

we talk about currency, we have to consider it as just another product.

Yes, you heard that right.

Currencies work under the same principles as oil, oranges or mobile phones: supply and

demand.

For

example, the Venezuelan Bolivar has very little demand.

Only Venezuelans use it.

So, when the Central

Bank of Venezuela prints a lot of Bolivars, this is, expands the Currency supply, the

price is going to

fall.

This means, the currency will devalue.

Nonetheless, American dollar's demand can't stop growing.

Everybody, around the globe, uses it for

international trade.

This means that the Federal Reserve has a big margin to print money without risking

devaluation.

And now you might wonder…

Why would the Federal Reserve want to print more money?

Well… let's look at an

example.

Imagine you've lent 100 dollars to the American Government.

And now you want them to pay you

back.

So you go there and they tell you: 'Suuuure man!!!

How much is it…? 100 bucks!

No prob, dude!

Just

go to that building next to this one, the one where it says 'FE-DE-RAL RE-SERVE'

and tell them to print

you those 100 bucks in just a second!!!'.

This practice is called 'MONETIZING DEBT'.

And yes, when you tell things like this to your friend, the

smartass, the one who thinks he is an expert in geopolitics, he will have no idea of what

you are talking

about.

But the truth is that this hegemonic currency is what allows America to issue more and more

debt, more

easily than any other country.

And this is why it is so normal to find headlines like this one.

America's debt crisis is coming -- interest payments will hit a trillion dollars a year

Having such a big debt is not really great news for American taxpayers.

In this other video we told you

why.

But hold on just a second because I know what you are thinking… is America as irresponsible

with its

monetary policy as Argentina or Venezuela?

And the answer is… of course not!

You see, all the Central

Banks print new bills year after year.

And not only print but generate more money electronically.

The

difference is on the proportions.

On this chart you can see the increase of the monetary supply, what we call the M2 indicator

of the

American Federal Reserve.

As you can see, the number of dollars grows year after year.

But… what happens

if we compare it with the Argentinian PESO?

… well, you can see the difference… and what happens when we

compare it with the Venezuelan Bolivar?

I guess there's no need to comment.

In just 9 years, Venezuela

has multiplied their monetary supply by 100…

By 100! while America has not even doubled it.

Bonus fact: while making this chart, we decided not to include the year 2018 because otherwise,

the

yellow part would cover everything.

This year, the Central Bank of Venezuela has multiplied their

monetary supply by 4000.

And… this is one of the reasons why the American Dollar is the most used currency

on the planet: because

it is stable.

While other Central Banks print money like crazy, the Federal Reserve is pretty responsible.

And now you might wonder…

What happens with other currencies like the Swiss Franc or the Sterling Pound?

If there is one stable currency in the world, it's the Swiss Franc, right?

Well… you are right.

In fact,

pay attention to this part of the video because this is going to surprise you.

Despite the dollar's

importance, it is not the only reserve currency on the planet.

Far from it!

Check this out!

A MULTICURRENCY WORLD

We said it at the beginning of the video: 60% of the foreign currency reserves are held

on greenbacks.

But what happens with the other 40%?

The second most used currency is the EURO, which represents 20% of the reserves.

After that we have the

Japanese Yen and the Sterling Pound.

But these are not the only ones!

Many central banks have reserves

denominated in Australian dollars or even Swiss Francs.

Despite not being that common, everybody

appreciates these coins for their stability.

But the question here is… if what you need for a currency to have a high demand is to

be stable… why

don't we use Swiss Francs as much as dollars?

The answer is that there are many less Swiss francs on the

market.

Think about it, Switzerland has 8.5 million inhabitants.

The United States has 300.

This means that the

Swiss National Bank doesn't need to issue as many bills.

Remember how I said the World has 1.67 trillion dollars?

Well, the Swiss Franc doesn't even have 1

trillion.

This means that it is harder to find francs than dollars for a transaction.

On the other hand,

America is the World's biggest market.

This means that thousands of companies from all over the World

sell their products here.

So imagine you are an Australian company and you are selling mobile phones in New York.

How do they pay

you?

With American dollars, of course!

Then what do you do with those greenbacks?

You change them to your

local currency.

So now who will have the American cash?

Of course, that would be the Australian bank

where you made the exchange.

In other words, the more America trades with the World, the more dollars will circulate

around the globe.

This is a currency that is stable, abundant and supported by the biggest economy.

Decades ago, no other

currency could be a match for the greenback.

But, as you know, the World is changing.

At this point, I guess you can see where I'm going with this.

At the beginning of this video, I asked

you…

Is it possible that the dollar will lose that hegemony?

Or, at least, be less important than it is

Today?

The answer is… yes.

As U.S. Trumpets 'America First,' Rest of the World Is Moving On

We have been telling you week after week here, at VisualPolitik…

Donald Trump wants to Protect America

from international trade.

His first move was to cancel free trade agreements with EU and Asia.

After

this, he introduced tariffs to steel so companies like Harley Davidson are leaving the country.

Trump has

also announced that he was to end NAFTA, which is the trade agreement between US, Canada

and Mexico.

In

other words, Trump's America wants to isolate itself from the international market…

So what does this

mean?

Well… it means the other countries will have less dollars.

Add to this other news… like this one.

Europe's central banks are starting to replace dollar reserves with the yuan

Or... this other one…

Russia Plans Yuan Bond Sale With Sanctions Threat Nearing

But don't get so excited, yet!

It is true, the Chinese YUAN, also known as RENMINBI, used to be an almost

unknown currency in the international market.

It was only used inside of China.

Nonetheless, in recent

years, some Central Banks are starting to buy it.

But, of course, this doesn't mean that banks will start

changing all their dollars to yuans overnight.

In fact, there are many things we don't know about the Chinese renminbi.

Things that your friend, the

smartass, probably won't know about.

But don't worry because in the following weeks there is going to be

a continuation to this video!

Meanwhile, here are some questions…

Do you think the dollar can maintain its hegemony in the following

decades?

If not…

What other currency could be a substitute?

The Yuan, the Euro… maybe the BitCoin?

No reason to be spending large amounts of money on joint U.S.-South Korea war games: White House - Duration: 0:36.

President Trump says that there is no reason to be spending large amounts of money on the

joint South Korea-U.S. war games.

Trump made the statement on his Twitter account a few hours ago.

The statement says that President Trump believes his relationship with North Korean leader

Kim Jong-un is a very good and warm one.

But it stressed the President can instantly start the joint military exercises again with

South Korea, and Japan, and if he does, the exercises will be far bigger than ever before.

The statement also criticized China for not pressuring the North enough into the path

of denuclearization.

Washington State Fellows' Network, August 2018 - Duration: 9:02.

Hi everyone and welcome to our third

annual 2018 screencast. We haven't won an

Emmy yet, but we're thinking this may be

our year. My name is Kathe Taylor, and I'm

the Assistant Superintendent of Learning

and Teaching at OSPI. And I'm Andrew

Eyers, assistant superintendent at

Capital Region ESD 113, representing the

AESD network. Hey everybody.

For first year Fellows, this short

presentation will be new. For returning

Fellows, it will be an update and again a

reminder. But for everyone, the

information will let you know where the

road is going to take us this year. We

want you to leave today with three big

ideas: Community, Ownership, Responsibility.

If you read only the first three letters

of those words, you could say it's the

CORe of our work. In the next few minutes

we'll touch on each of these. Hey Kathe,

why is that picture there?

Well Andrew, it's because each person may

feel that their work impacts only a few

people, only one classroom, or perhaps a

single building. But in reality our

collective work has a ripple effect that

goes far beyond one person's sphere of

influence. Hear that sound?

That's the sound of rippling...rippling.

We're going to pause briefly to give you

a moment to read the slide silently to

yourself.

Like school districts and agencies, it's

important to review the mission and

vision annually. We hope you see your

work manifested through our vision of

increased student learning. Again that's

at the core that Kathe just talked about

of our work. We also want to welcome

special education, English learners, and

Career and Technical Education leaders

in our ranks. So here's a quick summary

of who is in the Fellows Network in 2018-

19. From its start, we have had English

language arts, math, science, and early

learning. We represent all areas of our

state, 220 districts and communities, and

we hold really strong numbers again this

year--over 1,100 Fellows. And I should

also mention that we now have Fellows

Emeritus, and they are out doing some

great work based on the work that

they've learned from the past three

years in each of their groups. Hey Andrew,

I know the English language arts folks

and the math folks are saying, "Wait, wait,

wait.

Science and early learning weren't there

from the start." Yeah. Yes. That's true

Kathe.

But, we have now joined with those four

other areas. Right, and we're excited to

welcome early learning back again this

year and science now in its fourth year.

So it's still playing on this, "Who are

the Fellows in 2018-19?" Here's a bar

chart that shows you the distribution

across the state. So let's take a few

minutes to orient ourselves to the

colors. In this case, red is ELA, yellow is

math, green is science, and blue is early

learning. As you look at the distribution,

what you can't see, perhaps as readily, is

that there are at least nine Fellows in

each of the content areas in each ESD.

Not surprisingly, the two content areas,

ELA and math, that have been part of the

Fellows the longest have the most

Fellows, but representation in science

and early learning isn't too shabby

either. And I have to acknowledge for at

least the second year in a row, Capital

Region ESD, formerly known as ESD 113, has

bragging rights for the highest total

number of Fellows. Although ESD 101 is

closing in fast. Andrew what ESD are you

from?

We get lots of questions about how the

network is structured, so we thought it

was important again this year to remind

you how the network works internally to

support your learning and the learning

of all of the cohorts around the state.

There are two things you should notice

about this chart. We'd first like you to

find your content area that's across the

very top boxes. And then as you look down,

you're going to see columns that explain

how the network functions. So I'll take

science, since I am the science champion.

We have science Fellows. Then there are

regional science coordinators. Each of

them leads a group of science Fellows.

And then there's a science Fellows lead

that is one of our regional science

coordinators. And then those people

all come together several times a year,

and they make up what's called the

Fellows advisory committee. We join with

OSPI and the AESD Network to provide

leadership to the full state network. So

just to summarize, we have regional

coordinators, one at each ESD. Each

content area has a Fellows lead. There

are four Fellows leads. And the Fellows

leads work with the leadership at OSPI

and the Association of Educational

Service Districts. We're all part of the

Fellows Advisory Committee. And Kathe and

I are actually part of that Fellows

Advisory Committee, as well. The bottom

line here is, if you're a Fellow and you

have a question, we want you to contact

your regional coordinator. They really

have all the answers.

So now we've talked a little bit about

how many Fellows there are, how they're

represented across the state, how the

system works for leading the Fellows

network,

now we want to talk a little bit about

why the Fellows network is important. The

network is focused on developing your

professional learning and instructional

leadership. The Fellows Advisory

Committee adopted a single leadership

development framework. It's called the

concerns-based adoption model or

affectionately known as C-BAM. And we

adopted that in all areas, so we would

have a common language. If we're going to

make a difference in improving student

learning and decreasing opportunity gaps,

we need to empower more educators like

you to lead change within your classroom,

school, organization, and community. It's

why we're making this investment. If we

can help you build your knowledge and

leadership skills, then you can help us

reach more teachers, more students, and

more community members.

So let's go back to the beginning of

this presentation and that drop of water.

We told you we wanted you to think about

three big ideas--community, ownership, and

responsibility--again core, and the core

of our work. Just as we said last year, we

want you to understand that you're part

of a regionally-based, statewide network

of educators. You are part of a state and

AESD initiative that has grown

considerably in just a few years. We want

to welcome or welcome you back to that

community, and we also really hope you

have a sense of ownership. The Washington

State Fellows Network is invested in

your professional learning. It's

important that you then take ownership

for that learning and make these years

count. And finally, we hope you leave with

a sense of responsibility to pay it

forward.

The Fellows network will help you expand

your instructional leadership skills so

that you can widen the circle of

learning by sharing it with others.

Please keep the learning going with your

colleagues back home. If you don't take

that learning back, we all lose. We don't

leverage the power of the network, and we

don't scale up to increase student

achievement. So we're counting on that,

and we're counting on you. Thanks for

your attention, and now we'll turn the

presentation over to the regional

coordinators. We know you're in good

hands.

Thank you.
