Hello all you coin aficionados out there and welcome to the DCCoin World

international coin Channel. As many of you know some of the images on our US coinage comes

from tragedy. In 1945 President Roosevelt died and in 1946 they came out with the

Roosevelt dime. Well, the same thing happened with the half-dollar in 1963-1964

In 1963 in November President John F Kennedy was assassinated at that time

we had a Benjamin Franklin half-dollar the Franklin half which they

had started minting in 1948 but the last mintage of that coin was in 1963 because of

the death of President John F Kennedy so they minted a huge number of these

Franklin halves in 1963 and then they rushed to get out what they

would call later the Kennedy half so this is the last

year of this the Franklin half and there with the bell on the back and then came

very quickly in 1964 the Kennedy Half Dollar coin with President John F Kennedy who had

just been assassinated a few months before on the front of the half. Now, this

is a design by Gilroy Roberts. I mean an engraving by Gilroy Roberts and you

can see down here it says G R now some people say this looks very similar to a

hammer and sickle but it is not it's a big G with an R through it and it's

Gilroy Roberts. Interestingly enough Gilroy Roberts also helped design the

Benjamin Franklin half-dollar because John R SInnock who JRS down here who

designed engraved the Franklin half-dollar died before it was done so

Gilroy Roberts came in and finished up that engraving

And so he not only helped design the Franklin but he also sixteen years later

engraved the Kennedy half. The top of it says Liberty across here it says In

God We Trust 1964 this is a silver coin so in 1964 this coin was made and it was

90% silver so if you're looking for the Kennedy half this is the one to get in

terms of value and it's also the one to get in terms of this was the first year

that they minted it (this is a little bit better light) this we can do that you

can see that it has a reeded edge and when we flip it over it's a big coin and

it's got a lot of stuff on it this coin isn't probably I don't know it's it's

much better than very good condition it's probably almost a very fine

condition, the silver value alone is almost six dollars and the

value of this coin there's a lot of mouths there but this coin still sells

for seven to ten dollars in this condition across the top it says United

States of America here we can see right above the Eagles head it says E

Pluribus Unum there just happened to be 13 stars here and 50 around the outside

well there's nine plus four if you see how they did that so one two three four

five six seven eight nine here and then four down here so we have the the

original 13 colonies stars here but some of them kind of fell down next to the

eagle's head we see a snake coming out of the beak of the eagle we see just

finely engraved feathers these lines going up around the outside there are 50

stars for the 50 states because by 1964 there were 50 States because Alaska and

Hawaii came in in 59 and 60 and so we had all 50 states by this time says half-dollar

at the bottom in letters there are no half dollar coins that say 50 cents

them or that have the 1/2 on them they all say HALF DOLLAR. If we look down

here we see the Eagle is holding olive branches in this side holding arrows on

this side and the the famous shield across the chest of the eagle if there

is a mint mark it will be down here but there is not a mint mark on this coin

which means it was made in Philadelphia Oh wait a second!

For this one they made

two hundred and seventy seven point two five million of these so they made a

huge number of them there was a denver mint mark a D and that denver mint mark

they made a hundred and fifty-six million so this coin is not a rare coin

in any manner it is a collectible coin because it has the silver in it but also

because of its the first Kennedy coin it's a silver kennedy coin it's a 1964 I

don't know if I mentioned the e pluribus unum across the top in the banner above

the eagle's head so this coin you can probably you can probably spend seven to

ten dollars on this coin in this condition even though it's not as old as

some of the other coins it's a very collectible coin that's all we have

today oh let me say what else is in it I don't want to skip that part it's not

all silver it also has 10% copper in it weighs

twelve point five grams thirty point six one millimeters in diameter and two

point one five millimeters in thickness it is still currency in United States of

America hasn't been demonetized or anything but you don't want to spend

this one you want to keep it because it's worth almost twenty times his face

value have a great day from a DC coin World International Coin Channel

Working-level talks between North Korea and the U.S. come to a close on Monday - Duration: 2:37.

Working-level talks between North Korea and the United States in Sweden came to a close.

While not much about the content of the negotiation is known,...the meeting is expectd to help

break the impasse over denuclearization,... and help the two sides prepare for another

summit between their leaders.

Lee Ji-won has the latest.

North Korea's vice foreign minister and the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea

wrapped up their first round of meetings on Monday.

Soon after the talks ended in the morning, the officials left the convention center where

they'd been negotiating for days.

It was a meeting highly anticipated since last August, when Stephen Biegun was appointed.

But because of the two sides' reported differences over the steps to be taken for the North to

denuclearize, and over the so-called "corresponding measures" the U.S. should take, the meeting

took place only now.

Over three days, starting Saturday afternoon,... the negotiators met for around 40 hours.

And according the Swedish foreign ministry, constructive talks were held about developments

on the Korean Peninsula, including "confidence building, economic development and long-term

engagement."

Diplomatic sources also said the atmosphere at the site was harmonious and good.

One notable thing about this meeting... is that the talks were also joined by South Korea's

Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Lee Do-hoon.

Lee reportedly played the role of mediator,... and Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday

that this is one of the South Korean government's many efforts to expedite the North Korea-U.S.

talks and to establish complete denuclearization and permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Much of the content of their talks is under wraps,... and will likely remain that way.

According to Seoul's foreign ministry, the participating countries agreed not to disclose

it.

But experts say it's likely they discussed the specifics of what Pyeongyang and Washington

are willing to exchange, especially since the two sides held their long overdue high-level

talks just a few days ago.

Some of the cards reportedly on the table... are restarting the Gaeseong industrial complex

and the Mt. Geumgangsan tours and freezing the North's nuclear assets.

It's also expected they discussed preparations for the summit between Kim Jong-un and Donald

Trump.

Other than "late February," there are no other details yet about the location or date.

For the first summit last June, the specifics were fine-tuned by officials at the working

level, so the negotiators are expected to hold more meetings in the near future.

Comparing US States to the Rest of the World - Duration: 7:23.

America likes to compare itself to the world a lot, and with the mention in last week's

video about how most Americans haven't even left the United States, I thought it would

be worth it to take a look at each state in the US and compare them to the rest of the

world, and see where they stand on the world stage.

Of course, with so many Americans not having left the United States, in can be hard to

take the size of other continents in context.

I mean, how often has an American planned a European itinerary that looked like this?

With that being said, let's go through a list of every state in the United States and

see where each of them compares by area, population, GDP and GDP per capita to other countries,

as dictated by these maps, and available from this cool link.

However, the area statistics are from thetruesize.com.

Anyway, let's just dive in.

Alabama has an area comparable to Greece, a population similar to New Zealand a GDP

comparable to that of Czechia, and a GDP per capita of… also Czechia.

Alaska is similar to Libya in physical size, Bhutan in population, Bulgaria in GDP, and

Switzerland in GDP per capita.

At least that oil revenue makes up for something.

Arizona is comparable in size to Italy (really?

Okay), in population to Paraguay, GDP (and climate) to Egypt, and in GDP per capita to

Italy… again.

Totally didn't forget to record this the first time!

Arkansas can be compared in these metrics that I'm already getting tired of repeating

to Greece (again), Armenia, Ukraine, and Czechia.

Will we notice a trend of southern states secretly trying to be like Czechia?

Eh, probably, but it's more of a weak correlation.

California will of course soon rule the world, but for now we can compare them to Iraq (in

size and climate), Canada, Brazil and Germany.

Kind of weird how Los Angeles and Berlin are basically different planets, though.

Colorado can be compared pretty easily with New Zealand, Norway, Israel and Austria.

Connecticut with The Bahamas, Uruguay, Chile and Hong Kong, which isn't actually a real

country, but I guess it counts.

Right?

Delaware with Brunei, Fiji, Luxembourg (hey, I've been there!), and Switzerland.

Yeah, sometimes these little guys can hold a big financial secret.

I don't know how much that extends to Delaware, though.

I think their biggest export in recent years has been Sam O'Nella Academy videos.

Florida is comparable in these metrics to Suriname, Romania, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Georgia has Bangladesh's size, Czechia's population, Norway's GDP, Japan's GDP

per capita, and Georgia's name.

Hawaii is the size of Guinea (the Equatorial one), has the population of Bahrain, GDP of

Belarus and per capita GDP of Denmark.

Idaho is comparable to Guyana, Estonia, Luxembourg, and Czechia.

Indiana is like Hungary, Paraguay, Singapore and France, in that… yeah, I got nothing,

I just wanted to mix things up a bit more.

Illinois is similarly sized, populaced, GDP'ed and GDP per capita'd to Bangladesh, Belgium,

Turkey and Germany.

Iowa can be compared to Tajikistan (probably the only time you've thought of both these

places at once) as well as to Mongolia (in so many ways), Kuwait and Belgium.

Kansas is like Guyana, Albania, Hungary and Finland.

Even though it really isn't similar to any of those places at all.

Kentucky compares well to Iceland, Croatia, New Zealand and Spain.

Louisiana is best likened to Greece, Ireland, Ireland again, and Australia.

Maine has similarities to Portugal, Bahrain, Croatia and South Korea.

Maryland, my birth state's statistics correlate somewhat well with those of Moldova, Nicaragua,

South Africa and Austria.

Massachusetts can be easily compared with Haiti, El Salvador, Austria, and Ireland.

[John Oliver: Ireland, Europe's Boston] Michigan is comparable to Guinea (the regular

one), Hungary, Austria, and New Zealand.

Minnesota is said to go well with Guyana, Finland (obviously), Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Mississippi correlates with...

North Korea (wow, that took a bit of a turn), as well as with Albania, Slovakia, and Portugal.

Missouri compares easily to Cambodia, Lebanon, the Philippines, and New Zealand.

Montana somehow correlates with Japan, Cyprus, Lithuania, and Spain.

Nebraska compares well to Kyrgyzstan (again, have you ever thought of both these places

at the same time?), and also Latvia, Morocco and Sweden (wow, that's in GDP per capita,

good for them, I guess) Nevada is comparable in size (and climate)

to Burkina Faso, and in nothing else, except these predetermined statistics, to Jamaica,

Hungary, and Finland.

I've heard New Hampshire pairs well with Djibouti, Estonia, Luxembourg, and Iceland.

New Jersey shares some select common features with Belize, Austria, Sweden, and Ireland.

New Mexico is comparable to Poland (like I said in an old video you really don't want

to see), Slovenia, Ecuador, and Spain.

New York in some ways resembles Tajikistan, Chile, South Korea, and Ireland.

Fun fact, Irish-Americans also make up around 5.3% of New York City's population.

North Carolina also seems to pair well in size with Tajikistan, but its other three

countries are Portugal, Norway, and the UK (which is where I'll be going next month

for VidCon!

Okay, back to the education) North Dakota apparently pairs well with Syria,

Bhutan, Bulgaria, and Hong Kong.

All the while looking like Canada.

Ohio compares to Eritrea, Bolivia, Nigeria, and Japan.

Oklahoma somehow compares to Cambodia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vietnam, and New Zealand.

Oregon is just like Ecuador, Panama, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Wait, the Netherlands?

I knew it!

Portland is literally just Amsterdam with hills, ik wist het! [crash]

Pennsylvania is about the same size as Malawi-- wow, really?

Malawi's as big as Pennsylvania?

I guess that puts southern Africa into context for me, but Pennsylvania can also be compared

to Cuba, Switzerland and the UK.

Rhode Island is best approximated to Cape Verde (as this guy clearly got right), as

well as Fiji, Uruguay, and Finland.

South Carolina compares well to the United Arab Emirates, Costa Rica, Romania, and again

Czechia.

South Dakota can seem to some like almost a doppelgänger to Kyrgyzstan, but also compares

to Fiji, Serbia, and Australia.

Tennessee equates well to Guatemala, El Salvador, Israel, and Japan.

Texas is about the size of Myanmar, and otherwise comparable to Australia, Australia again,

and Australia…

I mean Austria.

Actually Austria.

So close!

Utah sizes up well against seemingly every state's favorite analog: Guyana, as well

as with Lithuania, Hungary, and France (at least they made a couple more unique picks).

Vermont doesn't differ much from Macedonia, Montenegro, Bolivia, and Japan.

Virginia seems to pair well with Bulgaria (oh, what a coincidence), Israel, Austria,

and the Netherlands.

Washington correlates well with Syria, Bulgaria, Austria, and the Netherlands (I can't just

go and refilm the Oregon scene in Seattle, you serious?)

West Virginia is comparable to Latvia, Latvia again, Luxembourg, and Slovenia.

Wisconsin doesn't contrast much from Suriname (finally, something other than Guyana!), Denmark,

Hong Kong, and France.

Finally, Wyoming compares to Ecuador, Luxembourg, Panama, and Hong Kong.

Of course, while this may not teach us all too much, it does put the scale of America's

states and some of the small to medium-sized countries into context, which I personally

feel is good for both sides of the US' borders.

I mean, no European would drive from Seville to Moscow, just as any sane American wouldn't

drive the similar distance from Washington DC to Portland, Oregon (well, okay, I have

actually driven this, but I think you get my point), but the size of the other continent

isn't always obvious at first, which makes this invaluable to planning trips.

Of course, what you do with the other three statistics is anyone's guess.

Thank you as always for watching this video.

dignity, you don't have to go too hard on it, and also share it with anyone else who

World War 3 fears: Russia REJECTS US demand to dismantle missiles - 'We shall NOT yield' - DAILYNEWS - Duration: 3:46.

World War 3 fears: Russia REJECTS US demand to dismantle missiles - 'We shall NOT yield'

RUSSIA has reacted with fury after the US demanded Moscow destroy its 9M729 cruise missile

system amid claims it violates a key nuclear arms treaty.

Kremlin officials dismissed allegations the new cruise missile system was in "direct and

continuing violation" of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty and rejected Washington's

accusations that Russia waw destabilising global security.

Moscow has offered to carry out a demonstration of the missile to prove it does not break

the terms of the 1987 INF treaty.

Tensions are at boiling point just two weeks before the planned US withdrawal from the

treaty, which keeps nuclear-capable missiles out of Europe.

Washington's disarmament ambassador in Geneva said there was still time for Russia to destroy

the system.

But after a session of the UN-sponsored Conference on Disarmament, Russian diplomat Alexander

Deyneko said: "We shall not yield to any ultimatums to liquidate or to eliminate a missile that

doesn't fall within the range of the treaty prohibitions."

Russia had denied developing what US intelligence calls the SSC-8/9M729 cruise missile system.

But NATO diplomats said Moscow did now recognise its existence but argued that its range was

within the 310-mile limit set by the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty.

US Ambassador Robert Wood said the system was a "potent and direct threat to Europe

and Asia" as it had a range of 310 miles to 930 miles, contravening a treaty that is designed

to prevent attacks at short notice.

Mr Wood said: "Russia must verifiably destroy all SSC-8 missiles, launchers and associated

equipment in order to come back into compliance with the INF Treaty.

"Unfortunately, the United States increasingly finds that Russia cannot be trusted to comply

with its arms control obligations and that its coercive and malign actions around the

globe have increased tensions."

After a meeting with Russian officials in Geneva last week, the United States said Moscow's

offer to save the treaty, negotiated by US president Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader

Mikhail Gorbachev, was not genuine because it could not be verified.

The deadlock sets the stage for Donald Trump to fulfil his threat to start withdrawing

from the pact on February 2, potentially allowing Washington to develop its own medium-range

missiles.

NATO said it had not given up on bringing Russia back into compliance and its 29 ambassadors

will hold a special NATO-Russia Council with Moscow's acting envoy to the alliance, Yuri

Gorlach, in Brussels on Friday.

NATO diplomats said European members of the alliance led by Germany hoped Washington would

make a final push to convince the Kremlin to come into line, or possibly to renegotiate

the INF to include China.

Economic Update: U.S. Government Shutdown Plus China Slowdown Equals … ? - Duration: 4:13.

Chris Hill: The government shutdown is now three weeks long with no signs of an end in sight.

We've got more evidence of an economic slowdown in China.

Ron, obviously we are business-focused investors, but how should we be feeling about the big

macro stuff these days? Ron Gross: Oh, this furlough.

It's a human story, but there are real economic implications here.

Just the paychecks that are being forgone right now represent a loss of more than $2.2 billion

in consumer spending.

You have housing, transportation, food, healthcare, all getting hit.

That will reverberate through the economy, for sure.

Hill: Andy, we're seeing more and more CEOs come out, maybe not as strongly as Fred Smith

at FedEx did a couple of weeks back, but more and more CEOs coming out and talking about

their ability to plan in 2019 getting harder and harder.

Andy Cross: I think it has to, when you start thinking about a government shutdown,

the trade issues continue to be forefront for so many of the global companies, wondering

what's going to happen with the trade issues.

This uncertainty, CEOs and chief financial officers don't like planning because it's

so difficult to do when they don't know what's going to happen even over the next few months.

So, when you start thinking about where interest rates are going to go and all these uncertainties

for them, they start saying, "Listen, we can't plan as aggressively as we would like to."

Aaron Bush: The largest uncertainty to me is less than the U.S. and more what's going

on with China and the slowdown there. We saw Apple a week ago lower its guidance.

That was a pretty big deal.

But I think there's a chance that that might just be the first step of many.

If you think about Nike, Starbucks, Tesla, all of these big consumer-branded companies

that also operate in China, they could get hit, especially if a lot of those companies'

growth stories are dependent on China in some way.

I don't think the news about GDP growth rates or any of that really is the biggest existential deal.

But when you pair on trade tensions, even thinking about the story this morning in which

another Huawei executive in Poland was detained, I can totally see how those pressures could

escalate and how, at some point, China could retaliate even harder on companies operating in China.

Gross: We've also got some consumer price information this morning that shows inflation

is not necessarily something to worry about right now, which may give the Feds some leeway

here if they want to pull back on the tightening and let the economy go a little further, which,

of course, Trump and others would love to see it.

The pressure on the Fed chief is pretty significant.

Hill: To go back to one of the companies that you mentioned, Aaron, you look at Starbucks,

on Friday, Goldman Sachs comes out with a downgrade of Starbucks, but it's basically

tied to an economic slowdown in China.

It really does seem like a time for investors to look at the stocks in their portfolio and

ask the question, "How much exposure do we have in China here?"

For the longest time, China has been the great opportunity for so many businesses.

Now, it seems like the risk factor is a little higher, Andy.

Cross: Yeah, I think so, Chris.

If you can look into your portfolio and look at the global exposure you have at the individual

level to those companies, make sure you understand what that exposure is to your portfolio.

I think, long-term, China continues to be such a massive economy and such a massive

population that for so many consumer-branded companies like the ones Aaron mentioned,

it's still an attractive market.

But, certainly, these trade tensions and some of the macro slowdowns will impact that in the short-term.

Gross: On a macro level, China is so difficult to figure out.

They're notorious for playing with the numbers.

It's really hard to understand until you actually see someone like an Apple slowing their sales

or purchases from suppliers.

So, sometimes, we have to play catch-up rather than being able to look at the macro data.

Samsung and LG expand washer market share in U.S. despite safeguards - Duration: 1:32.

U.S. tariffs last year have dragged down the total volume of South Korea's washing machine

exports....but Korean firms did well in defending their share of the American washer market.

Our Choi Si-young explains.

In February last year, the U.S. imposed heavy tariffs on foreign washing machines to protect

its domestic manufacturers such as Whirlpool Corporation.

Samsung and LG Electronics, which top the U.S. washer market, suffered a blow to their

exports last year.

According to Korea International Trade Association, the two companies' exports to the US last

year were roughly two-hundred-million U.S. dollars, down by forty-four percent from the

previous year.

But, their market share in the U.S. last year recorded a one-percent jump..., retaining

their top spots in the U.S. washing machine market with a combined 37-percent market share.

and Tennessee plants to meet local demand.

obstacle the companies have to overcome in the coming years.
