Looking Back At DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Summertime" | Song Stories Classic - Duration: 2:51.
JACQUES: When the weather is nice and the living is easy, nothing captures the mood
better than DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Summertime."
JACQUES: "Summertime" was the lead single off the duo's 1991 album, "Homebase"
and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The cut snagged Jeff & Will Smith their second Grammy award
for best rap performance by a group or duo in 1992.
When writing the song, Will borrowed a hip-hop legend's flow.
While these lines could highlight the duo's light-hearted rhymes compared to the more
hardcore hip-hop of the early 90s, Jeff pointed out in a 2011 interview that Will was actually
channelling Rakim, he said quote:
JACQUES: The 'summer madness' Will mentions
could be a shout out to Kool and The Gang's 1974 song of the same name,
which is sampled throughout "Summertime," and was produced by Chicago's Hula and K Fingers.
JACQUES: The music video debuted after an episode of 'The Fresh Prince,'
and it was shot in the group's hometown of Philadelphia and has all the trappings
of what makes a great summer: a cookout, good vibes and even Will and Jeff's real friends and family.
WILL: I think we captured that home aspect of it with our first video 'Summertime.'
There was a scene where we needed a family reunion in the video so instead of just having
actors and actresses stage a family reunion, we just had a family reunion and shot it.
JACQUES: Will wrote this song in L.A. while shooting the first season of his show,
'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.'
L.A. is known for its fair weather and Smith missed the changing seasons back home.
JACQUES: "Summertime" is the duo's permanent stamp on the warmest months of the year and
their biggest hit.
Rolling Stone magazine has it at number nine on its list of Best Summer Songs of All Time,
and Will can't do an appearance on a talk show without breaking out into the opening verse.

NES Classic Edition Mini - How To Add 800 + Games | 2018 Tutorial - Duration: 11:35.
I'm gonna show you how to add over 800 games to your NES mini
The one I have here on the table is from the recent production run. I just got it Friday
Nintendo didn't change anything at all. This still has the same hardware and the same software
So the old method of hacking using hack g2 will work before we get started. I just have to throw this out
There there is a chance you could break your NES classic edition
This is very very rare. And I have not seen anybody ever break their console
I'm sure some person out there might have thought they bricked it, but you can always recover it
I still have to give you this warning
Personally, I flashed a ton of them and ivory flashed my own consoles over 50 times and I've never had any trouble at all
So with that out of the way
Let's go ahead and flash our NES mini you will need a Windows PC to do this
If you're running a Mac, you can always run boot camp and install Windows
I have Windows 10 installed on a little mini PC. It works perfectly for this. Let's move over there now
Alright guys, so let's go ahead and get started
This is a very simple process the main thing you're gonna need are some nes roms now. I can't link you to them
But if you do a quick Google search for NES no intro roms
You can find a set. The full set is about 270 megabytes
What I did was search for us roms or USA up at the very top
I took all of these out of that no intro set and I place them in a separate folder from there
I searched for betas. I deleted the betas and
Prototypes so you can get your collection down pretty well
Now this one here will have
789 games I can fit all of these on my NES classic
Next thing you'll need is hack g2
Link for this is in the description. I just download the zip. You can also use the web installer, but I prefer using the zip
I've downloaded it. I've placed it on my desktop. I need to extract it right-click. I'm going to use 7-zip and
Extract a hack G
So here's my hack cheat folder, I'm just gonna move this out of the way we're gonna open it up and
Inside of here, we have a few folders. All we need to do is start up the hack Chi application. We're gonna double click
From here before we start please select your console. I am using the USA NES this also works with the SNES mini
Hello there, I'm very glad that you're using hack cheat - it's very simple to use
Just click add more games select some roms, press synchronize and follow the instructions. We're gonna click OK
From here. Let's go ahead and add our roms. Like I showed you I have mine on my desktop
I'm just gonna click add more games
Go to my desktop
NES roms
I'm gonna click on the very first one hold ctrl a it's gonna select every one in that folder. I'll click open
Hack she is now going to import them. This could take a little while depending on how fast your PC is
You may also get some of these errors here. These are map or errors
I always just click yes to all it's going to try to fix them
There's a possibility this will show up again there is a patch for Battletoads
I'm just gonna click
Yes - all this is just going to try to patch each game to be compatible with the NES and the controller
All right, so now we have all of our games imported they should all be highlighted now, we really can't see here
But the next step is to download the box art for each one of these games. We're going to just right click

This is going to automatically Google and find box art for each one of these games. This can be very time-consuming
So you're just gonna have to be patient with it. If you're trying to import 700-plus games, it could take a little while
Mine's probably going to take 10 to 15 minutes. So I'll have to fast forward it here
All right
So now we have all of our box our or thumbnails downloaded for each one of our games that we want to import
I'm just gonna click. Okay, it's time to flash the NES mini
Now what we're gonna do is dump the original kernel, we're gonna back that up
Also, upload it to Google Drive or email it to yourself
So we always have that we can always go back to stock with the stock kernel
There's also a few ways to customize the way games are displayed on the NES mini
We can have folders for each letter or we can just dump a bunch on the main menu and then we'll have folders for each
Other section because we're not going to be able to fit the close to 800 games here on one menu
We're gonna go to settings pages folder structure
Original games enroute automatic and subfolder. So all the games that were importing will be in subfolders
Pages split games equally now this is what I like to do here. I'm just gonna go with pages
split games equally
Maximum games per page or folder
They say it's not recommended to 50 to a hundred. So we're just gonna go 45
So every single folder will have 45 games in it. Now you can experiment with this find what you like
There's a lot of settings here. I prefer pages split games equally with maximum games per page
45
Will go down here to synchronize selected games with NES
You need to flash a custom kernel to your NES mini this is only required once do you want to continue
Yes, now. I have my NES mini plugged in with a micro USB cable to my PC
The other end is plugged into my NES mini we're gonna click. Yes
Follow these steps make sure the power is off on the NES mini
Connect your USB cable to the PC hold reset
Turn the power on one two, three, four five
First time it's not going to work. We need to install driver as you can see it's setting up a device
I'm going to give it a second for that to disappear. Then I'm going to install the driver
All right install driver will get a little popup window
Installing the driver for us
Skin everything ready?
press enter and
It's now flashing your NES mini
Now this is important as you can see it's saying dumping kernel we're gonna want to take that dumped kernel
That's our original kernel and place it somewhere safe
I'm also gonna leave it in my hacky folder
But I'm gonna make a few backups of it
That way if you ever want to go back to stop all you have to do is flash the stock kernel
Alright so we just flashed the custom Colonel it dumped the original colonel before we even get into this
I want to go back to my hack chief folder
I'm gonna find that it's all my desktop

Inside of here dump
This is your kernel. This is the original kernel. I'm gonna right click
Copy I'm gonna paste it on my desktop now
I'm gonna take this I'm gonna email it to myself and I'm also gonna upload it to my Google Drive
So I always have it if I lose this computer something gets corrupted. I'll always have a backup of that image
We can now upload our games to the NES mini click, okay, it's gonna upload our seven hundred and something games here actually
819 because I still have the original 30 so when this is done, I'll have
819 NES games on my NES classic let this finish up its got to build the folder structure
This could also take a little bit of time because we have so many games
We are now done click OK we can close hack G if we want to
We're gonna move over to the NES mini and I'm going to show you that I have
819 games loaded up really easy to do
It does take a bit of time. But in the end it's definitely worth it
If you ever want to go back to stock you're just gonna open up hack cheat
Kernel flash original kernel now you need to make sure you do have the original kernel in
your hack chief folder under dump
It'll flash the original kernel remove all of your games and you'll have the original 30 games that came on the NES mini
It will be stuck like you took it out of the box
Alright, so here we are with the NES classic edition
we just added 800 games to
We'll just scroll through here and I'll start one of them and then we'll go to some other folders. We'll just go to
Alien 3 that didn't come on the unit
So, there we go
Also another cool feature that hack she adds
Hold select and press down on your d-pad. It'll exit you back into this menu
You don't have to hit reset on the console anymore
Savestate still work. So if ever want to go back to that area I was in it'll start me right there

Press down on your d-pad. It'll bring us out
So there's tons of games to test out. We also have these folders here as you can see they're labeled
We got the B games C games D
There's a lot of stuff to go through here. So let's just go into the r2s
It's gonna open up another page with 45 more games
Now I have selected the option to do a hundred games per page, and I've never noticed any issues
But they don't recommend it for some reason
We'll find one more here
And here we are power blade power blade - we have every us nes game loaded up on our NES Mini
It's as simple as that
One thing I would like to do is go through and weed out all the sports games. Those are games
I will never play on here
Rampage for NES
Wasn't the greatest port but it did work
So that's pretty much it guys you now have a hacked NES mini it's fairly simple to do
We got all of the NES games on this unit. Now you can have hours and hours of fun
You can show it off to your friends
You can find other NES rom packs online, but I do use the no intro
I kind of weed out all of the us eight games place them in a folder
Then I go from there deleting the betas in the prototypes. It'll leave me with about
791 games plus the 30 that are on here we have over 800 games on this unit now
