Igo, and nearby Ono, were just two more communities in a series of cities, towns and hamlets threatened by a voracious wildfire in northern California that has destroyed 500 structures and grown to more than 75 square miles
Another 5,000 structures are threatened by the Carr Fire in and around Redding, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said
As of Friday evening, the blaze was 5 percent contained.At least two people have died battling the wind-driven blaze that jumped the Sacramento River as it moved eastward and roared into Redding
One was identified as Jeremy Stoke, a fire inspector for the Redding Fire Department
A privately hired bulldozer operator also died fighting to contain the blaze. At least three firefighters have been injured
