you

from Canada and Mexico President Trump is defending the move despite the global

backlash he tweeted yesterday unfair trade practices can no longer be

tolerated and the US must be treated fairly going forward I'm joined right

now by a member of his administration Peter Navarro is the White House

director of trade policy Peter it's good to see this morning thanks so much for

joining us good morning areia so what's your

reaction to what we've heard this morning and this weekend from Canada

France Germany the UK Italy and Japan who all collectively issued a joint

statement excluding the u.s. conveying their unanimous concern and

disappointment on these tariffs are you expecting dollar-for-dollar retaliation

I'm not worried about reaction what we have here is President Donald J Trump

taking an action that he promised on the campaign trail back in June of 2016

to defend our aluminum and steel industries from going out of business

and extinction as the president has said we need aluminum steel industries if

we're going to have a country and the problem we have maria is that we got 20

countries including all of those countries you mentioned flooding our

markets with steel putting 50,000 steel workers out of business in the last

decade we have 15 countries flooding our markets with aluminum driving that

industry to near distinction and all we're doing here all we're doing here

all the president is doing is defending this country's national security

sovereignty and economic security from the flood of imports what we expect is

our allies friends partners to understand two things one that we have

the right to do that in the interest of national security and two they need to

look in the mirror at their own unfair trade practices for example Europe if we

try to sell a car over there Europe charges us a high VAT tax and a 10%

tariff they want to sell it here it's when you give them a two point five

percent tariff that's not fair Canada just can't it just kicks us kicks us

kicks us on lumber and puts people out of work in Maine they kick us on dairy

puts people out of work in Wisconsin so these are

there are allies there we engaged strategically with them but at the end

of the day this is a trade dispute and the president is going to defend this

country he stands for American workers and he's standing up for them now those

those American workers are also wondering why they're seeing joblessness

why they're seeing an impact to the very states that voted for Donald Trump for

this last election are you worried that the very areas that this president is

targeting aluminum and steel are going to be the states that actually see

higher prices and perhaps job losses so in light of Friday's jobs report which

the New York Times apparently ran out of superlatives describing it's it's the

the height of spin to suggest it could be any unemployment look there's been

seven times seven times since 1970 since the unemployment rate has been reported

under four percent and the last two quarters was for this this presidency we

have a disproportionate amount the new jobs being created in manufacturing

we have investment off-the-charts this economy is so strong that nobody should

be worried about any of the spin that anybody's saying this is a story that's

truly remarkable and Donald J Trump has brought in tax cuts deregulation and

trade policies that are working for the American working people and guess what

on Friday they opened a 1.5 billion dollar groundbreaking aluminum rolling

mill in Ashland Kentucky why is that important it's the heart of Appalachia

and Appalachia is the heart of poverty in America and guess what the starting

salary at that plant is going to be $65,000 in a community where the average

median household income is $44,000 well below the national average

oh no president no president has fought the war on poverty better than Donald J

Trump african-american employment and Hispanic employment is at record lows so

all this idea about people worried about losing their jobs not going to happen

because we haven't seen the impact of these tariffs yep that's the precisely

why I bring up this point I mean I recognize what the president and the

administration has done in terms of triggering economic growth animal

spirits once again the Atlanta Federal Reserve just said that we're looking at

four point seven percent growth for the second quarter so things are good but

the point is is once you actually see these higher tariffs and these countries

our allies by the way fight back and raise their tariffs that's only going to

increase prices is it not it's going to force producers to actually increase

their prices and ultimately fall on the consumer so how much of a threat are

these taxes going to have in terms of cutting into economic growth and the

very strong growth that we've seen so I guess I guess my point here would be

that we've already seen the impacts of the tariffs remember we imposed tariffs

on solar panels and dishwashers many months ago the Donald J Trump had the

courage and vision to do that we haven't seen any of these dire consequences you

mentioned all we've seen is additional new investment in two industries which

are critical in terms of creating well-paying jobs for working men and

women in this country so what I would say to the American people is they

listen to this spin they have to understand that the spin out there

amongst the intelligencia and the elites is that we should keep doing what we've

been doing for the last 15 years and as Donald J Trump said in a tweet yesterday

we lose close to 800 billion a year and the trade war we lost that long ago

because the failure of the courage and leadership of people like Barack Obama

George Bush and Bill Clinton who by the way got us into both NAFTA and China

into the WTO which are the two worst deals in American history so what we

were doing a president he's just he's just amazing when he looks at the

chessboard I mean every single economic indicator consumer confidence up

business confidence up right fixed investment double what it was and trying

to understand what the impact is I want to get to China so you give me a moment

though but first on Canada before we move on to China Canada has already said

Justin Trudeau came out too we are going to match dollar-for-dollar

is this more about nafta or is this the same issue as the other countries

because you're making a national security issue here where's the national

security with Canada so the national security issue is not about Canada or

China or Turkey or any other country that sends us aluminum or steel national

security issue is a flood of imports from 20 countries that are putting our

aluminum of steel business businesses out of business and so the national

security in issue is basically us looking outward defending ourselves

against that flood of imports so that these industries can thrive and guess

what the day those tariffs were announced

Granite City Illinois this US Steel and his announced that plant would be

reopened hawesville Kentucky there was a plant that day century Illumina hundred

and fifty million dollars worth of new investment in modernization so all of

this is working this is not aimed at any of the countries that those tariffs are

put upon they're not aimed at those they're simply defending our industries

and and we just have to keep making that point and keep working with our allies

now and then after thing Bria it's very important there's no connection at all

none whatsoever between the actions taken on the tariffs and the NAFTA

negotiations they are two separate matters the NAFTA negotiations have been

going on for many months now and they're continuing there's hundreds of people on

all sides that sit around tables trying to work that out if there is a new NAFTA

deal will the president to remove these tariffs from Mexico in Canada then these

are two separate unrelated events and you treat it as such they're two

unrelated events and guess what there's only two things that are going to happen

with the NAFTA renegotiations right either we're going to get a deal

for the American people that basically reduces the trade deficit with Mexico on

and then allows us to build more factories here or we're going to leave

NAFTA the option of staying in the status quo won't hold and that's the

problem the status quo on trade whether it's with China with NAFTA with the

Europeans it just isn't working for the American

they beat us because they don't play fair they have higher tariffs than we do

higher non-tariff barriers right and president this president it takes

courage and vision to stand up to China I get that I want to ask you about China

because there here's the headline of the morning in terms of China I'm reading an

article right now and it says China says all trade progress is off if the US

imposes these tariffs are we willing to throw away the relationship that we have

with China to push tariffs and restrictions on the country well let's

look at the relationship we have with China we have a 371 billion dollar trade

deficit in goods which basically ships off 2 million manufacturing jobs to

China every year that's not so good we had general mattis talking about the

activity in the South China Sea with respect to China building up all there I

only they're artificial islands and of course the big issue that we're fighting

the president's fighting with ambassador light hyzer is this theft of our crown

jewels of technology they take our technology Marie everybody knows they

steal it but they also force the transfer of it

they evade our export controls and they're coming over here Chinese

state-owned enterprise coming over here with bags full of money and buying up

places like Silicon Valley so that's a relationship with China that

structurally needs to change we'd love to have a peaceful and friendly

relationship with China but we also are standing firm on the idea and the

president is the leader on this he was for two decades how far are you willing

to go Peter China wants to take its companies public on the floor of the New

York Stock Exchange are you gonna push back if they don't stop stealing and say

you can't even take your companies public in New York see I'm not the right

person to ask on that Donald J Trump is the president I'm part of a large trade

team that interacts with all of the agencies we sit in places like the

Situation Room at our this is going to go but you're trying to stop China from

stealing intellectual property Peter they don't even admit it they say they

don't do it so how do you change a situation where you can't even get them

to agree that they are in fact ceiling well we have a in motion the president

has said that come June 15th they'll be targeted tariffs so on the

China 2025 high-tech industries of the future that they tried to take from us

and they'll be set investment restrictions on June 30th to prevent

them from coming in and buying companies that are in things like artificial

intelligence and robotics which by the way are not only the industries of our

economic future but they're also the industries that are very important

militarily I get so the president is taking measured thoughtful strategic

steps he's this started again back in June of 2016 where he said in Pittsburgh

that he would crack down on Chinese he shared intellectual property he's just

doing what he said he's gonna do it's promises made promises kept and this

president's amazing just look at the numbers Peter it's good to have you on

the program thanks for earlier President Trump is doubling down on claims that

the FBI meanwhile crossed the line when using an informant to investigate his

campaign his ties to Russia

Former US Spy Chief Justifies Election Interference - Duration: 2:32.

The people from more than 80 countries where the US has interfered in elections need not

worry as it was all done in their "best interests" according to former US spy chief

James Clapper

Clapper, famous for lying about the NSA mass surveillance program before it was revealed

by Edward Snowden, is back in the media spotlight, promoting his new book.

RT reports: The tome promises readers 'Hard truths from a life in intelligence.'

However, perhaps the more interesting insights are on Clapper's reflections on the so-called

Russiagate scandal and investigations into the alleged hacking of the US presidential

election.

In an interview with Bloomberg's Tobin Harshaw, Clapper is asked about the US' own history

of election interference.

'I guess the way I think about that is that through our history, when we tried to manipulate

or influence elections or even overturned governments, it was done with the best interests

of the people in that country in mind,' he answers, noting that "traditional reverence

for human rights."

US actions of overthrowing foreign powers has long been the subject of academic discussions

and debate, with over 80 instances of it between 1946 and 2000 documented in Dov Levin's

report 'When the Great Power Gets a Vote' alone.

Clapper claims he's not simply jumping on the book-writing bandwagon, but that the loss

of what he calls the "beacon of truth" is what inspired him to put pen to paper.

He says US President Donald Trump is not the problem with America, he's just a symbol

of the wider issue, "where now it's fashionable to have alternative facts or where 'truth

is relative,' to quote Rudy Giuliani."

Truth also seems to be a "relative" term for Clapper, who was caught out by Edward

Snowden's uncovering of a mass surveillance program at the NSA, something the former intelligence

chief had denied to the US Select Committee on Intelligence.

The now-retired Clapper has some high hopes for his publication, saying he hopes it can

in some way inform the public about the threats the US faces, "both internal and external."

On the regrets front, there's no surprise as to what he feels the biggest issue yet

to be solved is, and that's the "intractable problem" of Syria.

His comments come just days after President Bashar Assad told RT that Washington and its

"puppets" tried, and failed, to destroy Syria – and the US military will eventually

be forced out of the country.

An Interview With Kellian Conway Justice With Judge Jeanine US North Korea Summit - Duration: 11:41.

100th day in office joining me now to discuss that and all of the developing

news this week is counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway good evening

Kellyanne thank you so much for taking time on a Saturday night we get it good

evening Janine and happy happy healthy birthday to you thank you now they're

all going to Google all right Kellyanne 500 days what what is the president

accomplished and don't go through a long list but the big one the big things that

it could go through a long list but I'll just give you the highlights that's the

whole point isn't it there's so much that's happened the sheer volume and

velocity with which this president does his work and progresses on behalf of the

American people Janine very simply we're more prosperous

were more secure and our government is more accountable any one major

achievement taking by itself would be enough in the first 500 days but when

you think of all them put together Isis is decimated we are being respected

on the world stage this president's leadership has brought North Korea

literally to the white house literally to the negotiating table the discussion

table and as the president said yesterday a meeting will take place on

June 12th South Korea and Japan have also been very helpful in getting that

to happen the jobs numbers the new york times itself admitted yesterday they run

out of ways to describe these jobs numbers meaning they've exhausted all

the superlatives listen america if you're a man if you're

a woman if you're a teenager if you're african-american if you're asian if

you're a Hispanic you have the lowest unemployment rate in 18 years if ever

for only the seventh time since 1970 Janeane the unemployment rate is below

4% this seventh time since 1970 think of that in 48 years that doesn't happen by

coincidence that happens by causation and Janeane right up your alley

one-eighth of our US Circuit Court now yes this is it includes a trump judge

that's very important 21 us circuit judges and of course just

as Neil Gorsuch the United Supreme Court so everywhere you look there's Trump

progress the regulatory reduction small biz

confidence consumer confidence it's all around us and those who deny it are just

spitting into the wind as they always are but who cares yeah we won't even pay

attention he's there for the Forgotten man in the Forgotten woman not that not

the cranks on cable TV who don't want to give him any credit you know and and so

I want to go into that Kellyanne now you know he's over at the cranks on TV Nancy

Pelosi when she heard that the meeting was off with Kim Jung on she basically

was she was almost cheering and saying it was a big win for Kim Jung on and now

that it's back on for June 12th and you know all the naysayers said oh it'll

never be back on it never be back on Americans have to say to themselves

this guy really does know what he's doing he's bringing Kim Jung unto the

table yes literally and everyone should be happy about this

Janeane a denuclearized Korean Peninsula is in everybody's interest I don't know

why Democrats would cheer the the lowering of the fortunes or the rising

of the the probability that maybe the meeting wouldn't happen it is the

president United States who sent that letter only ten days ago only eight days

before North Korea was here in Washington DC trying to get to the next

step for that June 12th summit to actually occur and

that that letter from the president covered the entire waterfront that it

was North Korea they've said the invitation the United States accepted it

looked like things weren't happening that's fine meeting canceled but the

president and now it's back on the President himself said on Thursday on

the record to the media that it may take a check more than one meeting Geneva we

seventy nearly 70 years of war this president has been at it for seven weeks

seven months he and Secretary of State Pompeo in earnest on this issue it's

been a very short period of time but people should stop cheering depending on

who's involved and they should actually look at the substance you and that's why

I have such faith in the American people they see it they know we're more

prosperous we're more secure and that's why we're calling Monday 500 days of

American greatness anyone of any one of these accomplishments by itself would be

plenty all right and all of them put together is 500 easy

greatness and if people aren't going to get the message out we will okay and

when you are but I must tell you you know with all the stuff that happened

this week with that Samantha bee and the horrible thing she said about Ivanka and

and I have always said I Ivanka is a woman who has spent her adult career

trying to empower women she is someone who has done everything she can not just

in the United States but around the world to give women the ability to start

businesses but so the president is in Washington he works 24 17 and he never

stops but the vid the hits just keep on coming

does it affect him at all not really and I'll tell you why the president seized

in the face of the American people especially when he cuts out of

Washington he travels he met with families from the Santa Fe

off-the-record no media in the room on Thursday I happened to be there with him

he he goes out to he went out to Nashville he travels about once or twice

a week now will continue to and he's out there okay with the people who are so

excited about his progress he sees that it matters and look okay yes free vodka

the Ivanka legacy will be great for women she's a so much investment in you

know for and it's incredible and that's what matters in the end though all right

Kelly Ann Conway thanks so much for being with us tonight

and the mooch Skerritt Moochie is still on deck + street justice take on

Samantha bee and next President Trump goes on the record saying he's

considering a move that could free controversial former Illinois governor

Rod Blagojevich but will it happen joining me next live is patty

Blagojevich the former governor's wife it's a

justice exclusive and it's next

developing tonight the president's still considering a possible pardon of

celebrity TV personality Martha Stewart and commuting this sentence of

controversial former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich this is it didn't pardon

conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza this week

now the Sousa says that he would singled out for prosecution by former President

Obama's administration because of his conservative politics in fact he wrote a

not so flattering movie about President Obama but joining me now one of Justices

exclusive is patty Blagojevich former Illinois governor's wife patty good

evening and thank you for joining us tonight oh thank you judge they all for

having me my pleasure now your husband Rob has been in jail for how many years

he's going into his seventh year right now okay and how old were your children

when he first went to jail well Thomas two but seven years ago so my little one

was in fourth grade and my older one I think I'd go by grades instead my older

one was in seventh grade and yeah it was it's really tough

yeah and but now your older one is how old when she was in seventh grade yeah

most of my older ones graduating from college this month Wow

yeah her high school graduation it was just it was awful senior prom you know

all those things that all those big special events he missed but most

importantly he missed those like everyday you know driving her to school

teaching her to you know teaching her to drive all that kind of stuff and my

younger ones now 15 is finishing up her freshman year of high school so and I

remember I was living in Chicago at that time and I remember your husband walking

out on the street and people I mean I think that you know he was on trial but

people loved this guy and there are many who feel and I believe maybe the

President does as well that you know the guy was just kind of practicing politics

that he never really got any money or in exchange or gifts or you

know we hear about this stuff all the time in Washington but he seemed to be

on the bad side like Dinesh D'Souza of the Obama administration is that

accurate right yeah the same people that you know when after mr. D'Souza seen

people that went after my husband the same people that are going after the

president now it's it's a memo and the you know they're using their offices to

try to undo elections and try to play politics instead of trying to do what

they're supposed to do and which is to seek justice I know you know our system

of governments got a system of checks and balances for a reason right and

sometimes the courts and these prosecutors get it wrong whether you

know maliciously or just by accident and it takes a strong leader like President

Trump to right those wrongs but you know it's interesting to Patty it's very

interesting when you say the same prosecutors and I think my viewers need

to understand what you're saying the guy who prosecuted your husband was

a guy by the name of Fitzgerald Fitzgerald his pals with Comey

who put Martha Stewart in prison and Fitzgerald is the one who is now

representing Comey and you know it's like this triumvirate of Comey

Fitzgerald and commis other attorney Akeley who have together you know kind

of gone over to the dark side many think in terms of the way they're handling

these cases absolutely you know they create crimes when there

are no crimes this is the case of my husband they you were this ridiculous

selling of the Senate seat crime that they invented was overturned on appeal

years ago people don't understand that that was considered political

log-rolling and so they make up crimes that where there are none and they you

know make a big splash in the in the press just to you know try to bring down

people that are either controversial or people that they just don't like they

don't like if they're part of the Obama group of patty Blagojevich I want to

wish you much luck on this but I have one quick question is your

was Harris still as sick as it used to be he was known for his hair is it yeah

he's very blessed that way shouldn't we all be patty Blagojevich much luck in

prayers to you thank you thank you so much all right and Candis Owens from

Turning Point USA is just minutes away but next the mooch comes to Justice

Anthony scaramouche II standing by live to talk about this week in the White

House and more don't miss this interview it's next

you

Defense chiefs of S. Korea, U.S. and Japan hold trilateral meeting during Shangri-La Dialogue - Duration: 0:54.

South Korea, the U.S. and Japan, meanwhile, held three-way defense talks Sunday morning

in Singapore.

Seoul's defense minister, Song Young-moo met for about an hour with his counterparts James

Mattis and Itsunori Onodera on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue, Asia's biggest

security forum.

Speaking to reporters before the closed-door talks began,...

Song called for greater military cooperation to achieve the denuclearization of North Korea.

In his remarks, Mattis said the only way North Korea will get relief from international sanctions

is if it takes verifiable and irreversible steps to denuclearize.

And Japan's defense minister said the three countries need to strengthen their military

cooperation, but also called on North Korea to cooperate in resolving long-standing humanitarian

issues... like the Japanese nationals abducted by the regime.

Hillary Caught Red Handed Running The Biggest Scam In U S History - Duration: 10:40.

Hillary Caught Red-Handed Running The Biggest Scam In U.S. History

It's no secret that Hillary Clinton follows her own rules.

Because of her power, she has gotten away with countless crimes.

But all of that could come tumbling down after she was caught red-handed running the biggest

scam in U.S. history.

A former CIA officer and whistleblower contends that all of the crime at the FBI and DOJ boils

down to the Clinton Foundation.

Kevin Shipp, the whistleblower, believes that once this is fully exposed that it will be

the biggest scandal in U.S. history.

Shipp contends that "Hillary Clinton was running and is running a global financial

criminal syndicate.

She was using these secret servers to conduct Clinton financial money laundering business."

Shipp also contends that this has been going on for decades, with the support of billionaire

leftist financier George Soros.

He also contends that former President Obama was involved, stating:

"I AM ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED OF IT.

GEORGE SOROS GAVE $30 MILLION TO OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN.

THEN HE GAVE $27.1 MILLION TO HILLARY CLINTON'S CAMPAIGN.

BOTH OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE TIED DIRECTLY INTO GEORGE SOROS."

As reported by Zero Hedge:

"FORMER CIA OFFICER AND WHISTLEBLOWER KEVIN SHIPP SAYS THE REASON FOR ALL THE CRIME AND

TREASON AT THE FBI AND DOJ ALL BOILS DOWN TO ONE THING – THE CLINTON'S SO-CALLED

"CHARITY."

SHIPP EXPLAINS, "HILLARY CLINTON WAS RUNNING AND IS RUNNING A GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRIMINAL

SYNDICATE.

SHE WAS USING THESE SECRET SERVERS TO CONDUCT CLINTON FINANCIAL MONEY LAUNDERING BUSINESS."

"THE SHOCKING THING ABOUT THAT IS ALL THE FORMER DIRECTORS OF THE CIA THAT HAVE COME

OUT TO SUPPORT HER, FROM CLAPPER TO BRENNAN TO MORELL TO ROBERT GATES SUPPORTING HER BEING

ELECTED, KNEW ABOUT THIS CRIMINAL SYNDICATE.

COMEY WAS PROTECTING IT.

LYNCH WAS PROTECTING IT.

WEISSMANN WAS PROTECTING IT. AND THAT IS THE BIG WHY.

WHAT'S SHE GOT ON THESE PEOPLE?

ARE THEY FINANCIAL TIES?

THEY HAD TO BE AWARE OF THIS, ESPECIALLY THE COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE UNITS.

WE KNOW IT WAS HACKED INTO BY FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SERVICES BECAUSE IT WAS JUST HANGING OUT THERE.

HILLARY CLINTON WAS RUNNING A SECRET SERVER OUTSIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE FOR THE PURPOSES

OF LAUNDERING MONEY THROUGH THE CRIMINAL CLINTON FOUNDATION."

ARE THE CRIMES AND TREASON OF THE CLINTON FOUNDATION THE ANVIL THAT IS ABOUT TO DROP?

SHIPP SAYS,

"IT'S NOT JUST AN ANVIL, I THINK IT IS A MOUNTAIN AND THE NEXUS OF EVERYTHING.

THIS "CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE" (CGI) IS WORLDWIDE, AND IT'S BEEN OUT THERE FOR

A COUPLE OF DECADES.

IT HAS NOW INTERTWINED FORMER DIRECTORS OF THE CIA AND FBI.

GEORGE SOROS IS A PART OF IT.

IT'S CONNECTED TO ALL KINDS OF GLOBAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS…

IT IS AT LEAST A $100 BILLION…"

Shipp believes that if his claims are taken seriously, we would see Congressman, Senators,

former Directors of the FBI and the CIA perp-walked after they receive charges.

"COULD YOU IMAGINE IF SENIOR DOJ OFFICIALS WERE ARRESTED, SOME CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS

WERE ARRESTED AND OTHER GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WERE ARRESTED ON CHARGES AND WALKED OUT OF

OFFICE?

THAT'S THE CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS I AM TALKING ABOUT.

THOSE KIND OF HIGH LEVEL ARRESTS WOULD SHAKE UP THIS NATION."

Do you think President Trump should have charges pressed against Hillary Clinton?

11 Safest Places to Live in the US - Duration: 18:49.

11 Safest Places to Live in the US.

Safety first.

It may be a cliché expression, but it's tried and true advice that carries a lot of

weight.

Especially when deciding where to put down roots.

When it comes to your home and family, there is no substitute for feeling safe.

But where to begin?

There are so many cities and towns in the U.S., it's difficult to choose a place that

is both safe and desirable.

Don't fret; there are plenty of viable options from the east coast, to the mid-west, and

especially the west coast (California scored three separate times on our list!).

Check out all the cities that made the ranking for the safest places to live in the U.S.

1: Sunnyvale, California.

Within prosperous Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale residents experience a very safe and comfortable

way of life.

Most people are well-educated working professionals and many work in the computer science field.

Whites, Asians, and Hispanics make up much of the diverse demography.

The median household income is over $100,000.

Violent and property crime are well below the national average.

Sunnyvale scores extra points because of its location in Santa Clara County, which has

a vehicular mortality rate less than one third of the national average.

This is due to the heavily utilized Valley Transit Authority's bus and rail systems.

Santa Clara County has one of the lowest drug use rates in the nation, likely contributing

to its excellent safety record.

Sunnyvale's public safety officers are trained firefighters, police officers, and EMTs, making

emergency response extremely efficient.

Safety bonus: California has the strictest gun control laws in the country.

2: Plano, Texas.

As one of the safest places in Texas and the entire country, this Dallas suburb has a lot

going for it.

Plano is a city of around 286,000, high median household income, and affordable housing.

Despite Texas having an above average crime rate, Plano has managed to rise above this

statistic.

The city prides itself on the very low violent crime rate; more than four times less than

the national average.

The property crime is higher, but still below the state and national averages.

There are plenty of amenities, activities, and entertainment.

Check out the Arbor Hill Nature Reserve for 200-acres of trails, AquaShop for indoor surfing,

or Art & Soul for a paint your own pottery session.

Overall, Plano is a very comfortable place to live.

Bonus: large selection of public schools and over a dozen private schools.

Plano ranks very well in the education category.

3: Honolulu, Hawaii.

Tropical island life combines with one of the safest places in the U.S. to live.

What's not to love about Honolulu?

This city is a surfer's haven, diver's paradise, and sun worshiper's dream.

The climate and location makes Honolulu an irresistible location.

Factor in the low violent crime rate and you've got yourself a perfect paradise.

Honolulu's small area and year-round warm weather prompts many people to walk, or ride

their bikes to work.

This cuts down on the dangers people face on the road and puts Honolulu near the bottom

of the list of car fatalities.

Hawaii is one of the strictest states in terms of its gun control laws.

Remember: Honolulu is a city of 350,000, so take the normal precautions you would in any

other large city.

Property crimes have decreased in the last ten years, but still hover near the national

average.

4: Naperville, Illinois.

This family friendly Chicago suburb boasts some of the lowest crime statistics in the

nation.

Naperville rivals Plano with an extremely low rate of violent crime.

The most recent crime rate shows just 87 people out of 100,000 reporting a violent crime.

The national average is more than four times this amount.

Property crime is less than half the amount of the national average.

The combined crime rate here is 58% lower than the national average.

Naperville also has many ways to keep you entertained.

Check out the Naperville River Walk along the DuPage River, the man-made Centennial

Beach, or take a historic or bar hopping trolley tour.

This city has a lively nightlife scene, local brewery, concert hall, and museums.

Bonus: Chicago is easily reachable from Naperville.

5: Thousand Oaks, California.

Located about forty miles north of Los Angeles in Ventura County is the city of Thousand

Oaks.

Thousand Oaks has a bevy of outdoor activities for residents to enjoy.

Gardens of the World, Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area, and Wildwood Park beckon

people to get out and get active.

The population of around 130,000 enjoy the Southern California climate and can rest easy

due to their impressively low crime record.

The national property crime rate is double that of Thousand Oaks, with theft as the most

common crime in Thousand Oaks.

The violent crime rate is more than three and a half times lower than the national average.

These statistics make Thousand Oaks safer than 74% of the cities in the U.S. Don't

forget about those strict gun control laws, which are likely contributing to the overall

low rates.

6: Henderson, Nevada.

This city of around 300,000 is the second largest in Nevada and one of the nation's

safest communities.

As a state, Nevada's crime average is higher than the national average.

However, it seems Henderson holds itself to higher standards.

Henderson ranks well below the national average of violent and property crime rates.

Henderson is considered safer than over half the cities in the U.S. Residents here enjoy

the River Mountain Loop Trail which connects places like the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead National

Recreation Area.

The Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon, and Joshua Tree are just a few of the tours you can embark

on from the backseat of a Hummer H2.

There are also a variety of excellent restaurants, from creative gourmet-bistros, to international

buffets, to the healthy twist LYFE puts on its fast food.

Bonus: Henderson is just a short twenty-minute drive to Las Vegas.

7: Shoreview, Minnesota.

This small city has a real sense of community, which is maybe why their safety record is

so shiny.

Shoreview's violent crime rate is forty-six times lower than the national average.

The city's property crime rate is 14 times lower than the national average.

Combined, these statistics make Shoreview 96% safer than any other city in the country.

The overall crime rate is actually decreasing.

Unfortunately, living in this extremely safe environment comes with a high cost of living.

Housing, health care, groceries, goods and services costs are all above the national

average.

To those who can afford it, this peaceful city of just 25,000 may be worth the price.

Shoreview's poverty and unemployment rates are both below the national average, perhaps

contributing to its exceptionally low crime statistics.

In the summer, residents enjoy outdoor concerts in the park, farmer's markets, and community

events.

8: McAllen, Texas.

Located just a few miles north of the U.S. – Mexico border is McAllen.

Due to its location, the predominant language is Spanish.

The culture revolves around the city's roots in the Rio Grande Valley.

The Quinta Mazatlan offers bird watching and environmental education.

The International Museum of Art & Science focuses on the ecosystem of the Rio Grande.

The Museum of South Texas History teaches about the history of the region.

McAllen suffers from higher than average property crime, however violent crime rate is a third

of the national average.

When you consider the violent crime average in Texas is higher than the national average,

it's impressive McAllen has kept theirs so low.

McAllen even has a lower violent crime average than Plano, TX – one of the lowest on this

list.

Additionally, the 8% decrease of overall crime in the recent years indicates consistent positive

change.

9: Arlington County, Virginia.

Directly across the Potomac River from Washington D.C. is the county of Arlington.

It's the smallest county in the state at 26 square miles, and the smallest self-governing

county in the U.S.

Because of this, many people think of Arlington as a city as opposed to a county.

Arlington houses many national monuments, museums, and government headquarters.

As a state, Virginia scores below the national average in overall crime, with Arlington scoring

even lower.

Property crime rates are slightly higher, but both Virginia and Arlington are below

the national average.

Arlington's violent crime rate is almost a third of the national average.

Almost all residents here are white-collar workers, employed in the business, finance,

management, and scientific fields.

Arlington has one of the highest average household incomes in the country at $105,763.

It has also consistently ranked as having one of the lowest unemployment rates.

10: Franklin, Massachusetts.

This small Boston suburb has been getting national attention for being one of the safest

and best places to live and raise a family.

The violent crime rate in this small city of 32,000 is more than twenty-five times lower

than the state and national averages.

Property crime rates in Franklin are a quarter of the state average and almost one-sixth

of the overall national average.

Overall, the residents of Franklin are well-educated and support strong education systems in their

community.

More folks in Franklin hold a B.A. or higher educational degree than many other American

communities.

The majority of the residents are white-collar workers in the professional, scientific, management,

and administration fields.

The drawback of life in Franklin is the significantly high housing costs and overall cost of living.

11: Carlsbad, California.

Sunny San Diego County has a host of desirable coastal cities to choose from.

While all boast near-perfect weather, an ample supply of sandy shorelines, and plenty of

amenities, there's one that stands out.

Carlsbad, located in North County, San Diego, is a wonderful place to live for several reasons.

They have an excellent public school system and well educated residents.

Over 50% have a B.A. or higher and almost all have completed high school.

Carlsbad is a very safe, family-oriented city.

On average, crime rates are half of the national average rates.

Violent crimes in Carlsbad are almost a third of the national average.

There's a strong creative culture and a high concentration of artists, which adds

to Carlsbad's character.

Overall, the city is a beautiful, comfortable, and safe place to enjoy many ocean front amenities

and a laid-back way of life.

Defense chiefs of S. Korea, U.S. discuss peace and prosperity of Korean peninsula - Duration: 2:50.

North Korea issues are, of course, high on the agenda at the Shangri-La Dialogue.

On the sidelines, Song also held separate talks Saturday with James Mattis.

Our Park Ji-won filed this report from Singapore.

Delivering a speech entitled "De-escalating the North Korea crisis" at the forum's plenary

session on Saturday, Seoul's Defense Minister Song Young-moo stressed the Moon Jae-in administration's

North Korea policies and drive to denuclearize the peninsula not only contribute to the stability

of Northeast Asia,... but also promote global prosperity and peace.

He said South Korea's defense ministry will continue to closely consult with the North

to implement the Panmunjom Declaration,... where the two Koreas agreed to cease all hostile

acts and turn the Demilitarized Zone into a peace area.

During a Q&A session,...

Minister Song said he believed North Korea will comply with the international community's

demand that it denuclearize in a complete, verifiable, and irreversible manner,... known

in diplomatic speak as CVID.

"CVID is a promise that must be kept.

We believe North Korea, which hopes to be part of the international community will accept

the conditions, as complete verification is beneficial to the North."

U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis, who also gave a speech on Saturday on U.S. leadership

and the challenges facing Indo-Pacific security,... insisted the issue of American forces in South

Korea is not related in any way to talks with North Korea,... saying it's a matter for Seoul

and Washington only.

"Any discussion about the number of U.S. troops in the Republic of Korea is subject to one;

the Republic of Korea's invitation to have them there; and the discussions between the

U.S. and the Republic of Korea, separate and distinct from the negotiations that are going

on with the DPRK."

Following their speeches,...

Song and Mattis held a closed-door meeting lasting around 45 minutes.

Song and Mattis expressed satisfaction right after the talks.

Their discussions focused on ensuring peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula and

both sides reaffirmed their iron-clad alliance.

The two defense chiefs also welcomed the results of the two recent inter-Korean summits,...

saying they hoped positive change on the peninsula will create the optimal conditions

for the upcoming North Korea-U.S. summit in Singapore.

Park Ji-won, Arirang News, Singapore."

WW3 WARNING: China INTIMIDATING neighbours - Mattis pledges US will compete vigorously - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:13.

WW3 WARNING: China 'INTIMIDATING neighbours' - Mattis pledges US will 'compete vigorously'

CHINA is intimidating neighbours in the disputed South China Sea region with aggressive behaviour

such as deploying rockets, said US Defence Secretary James Mattis.

The United States is willing to work with China on a "results- oriented" relationship,

but Beijing's actions in the South China Sea were coercive and the Pentagon would "compete

vigorously" if needed, Major Mattis said.

General Mattis, speaking at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore at a time of increased

tension between the two nations, highlight how President Donald Trump's administration

is looking to balance China's cooperation on North Korea while dealing with its activities

in the disputed sea.

The US chief, who said he would be travelling to Beijing this month, added: "China's policy

in the South China Sea stands in stark contrast to the openness that our strategy promotes,

it calls into question China's broader goals.

"The U.S. will continue to pursue a constructive, results-oriented relationship with China,

cooperation whenever possible will be the name of the game and competing vigorously

where we must ... of course we recognise any sustainable Indo-Pacific order has a role

for China."

Last month, China's air force landed bombers on disputed islands and reefs in the South

China Sea as part of a training exercise, triggering concern from Vietnam and the Philippines.

Satellite photographs taken on May 12 showed China appeared to have deployed truck-mounted

surface-to-air missiles or anti-ship cruise missiles at Woody Island in the disputed sea.

Mr Mattis told the summit China had also placed electronic jammers in the South China Sea

region.

Mattie said: "Despite China's claims to the contrary, the placement of these weapon

systems is tied directly to military use for the purposes of intimidation and coercion."

But China hit back at the US general's comments, with a military official describing them as

"irresponsible".

He Lei, the head of the Chinese delegation to the dialogue, said the islands were Chinese

territory and it was "a sovereign and legal right for China to place our army and military

weapons there."

He, who is deputy president of the Academy of Military Sciences at the People's Liberation

Army, said: "We see any other country that tries to make noise about this as interfering

in our internal affairs."

Reuters first reported that two U.S. Navy warships sailed near South China Sea islands

claimed by China on Sunday.

While the operation had been planned months in advance, and similar operations have become

routine, it came at a particularly sensitive time and just days after the Pentagon withdrew

an invitation to China for a major U.S.-hosted naval drill.

US Women's Open: Ariya Jutanugarn leads by four shots after three rounds - Duration: 2:28.

US Women's Open: Ariya Jutanugarn leads by four shots after three rounds

Thailands Ariya Jutanugarn won her only major, the Womens British Open, in 2016. Thailands Ariya Jutanugarn leads the US Womens Open by four shots going into the final round in Alabama.

The 22-year-old played 28 holes on Saturday as she completed her delayed second round in a two-under-par 70, then carded a 67 in the third to move to 12 under overall at Shoal Creek.

Australias Sarah Jane Smith is her nearest challenger on eight under. Englands Jodi Ewart Shadoff dropped to level par, with compatriot Charley Hull a shot further back.

South Koreas world number one Inbee Park is on four under, while Englands Georgia Halls 75 put her on seven over. Dangerous weather curtailed play on Friday with some players finishing their second rounds on Saturday morning.

Jutanugarn woke up at 4:00am for the 6:45am restart of the second round, which was pushed back an hour because of almost an inch of rain on Friday night.

Im going to sleep well tonight, said the world number five, who is aiming to win her second major.

I just want to go out and be proud of myself every day. Im pretty sure tomorrow is going to be a pretty good day..

Smith, who has not won in 222 LPGA tournaments, carded a second consecutive 67 on Friday, but she shot two bogeys in a third-round 74.

I felt really good and kept my nerves under control, but I think the nerves showed up in my putting, she said.
