How to Build a Benchmark Map in ArcGIS Online

Choose "Change Style"

Choose an attribute

Choose "Options" on the suggested map style.

The color ramp is next to the histogram. Zoom in on it.

This is the average of the data. When you don't have any other benchmark to reference, use this.

When you do have a benchmark to reference, use the "Above and Below" theme.

This theme centers the color ramp around whatever benchmark value you use.

Maps are sensitive to where you assign color, so use meaningful values.

A quick search yields a meaningful benchmark to apply.

$59,000 is the U.S. median income

At what point do you consider median income to be "high" or "low?" Again, use a meaningful value from your research of the subject.

Choose a color ramp that helps you talk about the interesting parts of the data (high, low, both?)

This three color ramp is rather busy.

In the U.S., green is the color of money...

...so areas above the U.S. median income level are shown in green. Areas below, in purple.

Your map is now directly connected to a known benchmark, and can be discussed in that context.

You can see which cities are above, or below the benchmark $59,000

Kartra - How To Build A List Building Funnel - Done For You - Landing Page - Video 1 - Duration: 11:35.

How to create a list building a funnel in Kartra.

In this video, the first of three, I'm going

to show you how to create a landing page,

the first step to creating a list

building funnel, using one of Kartra's

Done-For-You list building tools. In case

you don't know, Kartra is a

comprehensive online platform, where

along with easily creating list building

funnels, you can also create landing

pages, membership sites, host your email

list with extensive analytics, an

affiliate marketing platform and much

much more. To keep these videos at a

decent length, in Video 2, I will go to the

next stage and show you how to create

the Thank You page and in the third

video, how to create the email sequence

and then test your funnel, to make sure

it is working, because this is a step

that a lot of people forget. Hi my name

Let's go over to Kartra now and I

will take you, click by click, through the

process of creating the landing page.

Here we are, we've come to the back end

of my Kartra app. I've just logged in

and this is the page that you will come

to, after you have logged in. There are

several ways you can enter the Done

For You campaigns. Obviously, there's a

big button here that says "Done For You

campaigns". Ee can click that or we can

click the icon over here or we can come

to my campaigns, over here. I'm just

going mention that Kartra comes with

fantastic videos and Help. Initially

when you're getting to know Kartra, you

will have more Help boxes, like this, but

when you feel you're getting to know Kartra

better, you can always click here,

"I get it, no need to show me this again"

and this whole block, this black block,

will disappear. I'm going to go to the

Done-For-You campaigns, via the my

Campaigns tag.

I'm going to click on My Campaigns and

then we'll go to Campaigns and here is

Done For You. You can see, there are

already five Done-For-You campaign

funnels set up, that you can use. There's

the Simple List Builder, the Book Funnel,

where you can promote a book, a List

Builder Funnel, which allows you to give

something away, a Quick Launch Funnel,

which is the most complex of the

Done-For-You funnels and Frank Kern's

"4 Day Cash Machine, which leads into a

video sales page, that has an expiry date

on it. Over on the side here, you see a

list of red boxes, that will guide you

through the list building funnel process.

I'm going to click on Simple List

Builder and up here come all of the

steps, to take us through building the

funnel. First of all, we're going to

choose and configure our Opt-in page and

again, there are instructions that will

help you do this. You listen to the

instructions and when you're ready you

say "I am ready take me there" and I can

access this list builder by saying

"Import Campaign". I'm going to call this

campaign "3 tools" because my free

giveaway here will be "The only three

tools you need to create client

attracting videos". Then we say "next"

and it will import this entire funnel.

You can see here, in my list of campaigns,

I've already created two full funnels

before now and this is my third one, the

3 tools list builder opt-in, that I have

just set up. If we come to "My Pages", you

will see that having clicked "Create 3

tools", the 4 pages associated with

the three tools list builder appear,

on the page ready to go. If we come down

further, you'll see this funnel has four

pages attached to it. I have 1, 2, 3, 4

pages here for ManyChat 1, 2, 3, 4 - 4 for

my Legacy List Builder and I also have 4

identical

core pages for Three Simple Tools.

In this funnel, you have the option

of three opt-in landing pages, this one,

this one with a picture, or this one here,

and this funnel has one Thank You page

that will be the follow on, from the

opt-in page. It is editable, once we

get to that point. Here, I've edited that

page and I've edited this page and I'm

going to use the same landing page

I've already used for my two previous

opt-ins.

We come down to the three little

buttons again and we're going to say

"Edit"

and I already have the page name "3

tools simple list builder opt-in" with

image and the category is going to be

"Simple List Builder" and I'm going to

change that to "Three Tools Simple List

Builder".

I'm going to create a new category, "The

Three Tools Simple List Builder"

and I'm going to add that

say "done",

and now we'll go back. I've got now this

category and I'm going to add that

category, and it will take me back to the

page. Now I am going to

edit this page, I've already got the name

in. I've done this earlier. I'm going to

"Edit", it's going to load the page builder.

By mousing over the image, up comes the

Menu at the top, where I can move, I can

change the size, I can duplicate or clone

and I can edit the picture. I'm going

to edit the image. I'm going to upload an

image, which I already have on my desktop,

which has to be less than two megabytes.

We're uploading the file and while

that is uploading, Kartra also comes with

a very large library of royalty-free

images. If you don't have an image to

upload - say you wanted to put "children" -

you wanted to search for images of

children, put that in and here comes the

library of royalty-free images with

pictures of kids, that you can use. If

you put in "mountains", you get some

beautiful mountain shots. I will select

and confirm. I click "Apply" and now I have

my image in here. With any page, on

Kartra, there is this little red cog on

the side. When you click, it will bring

up the panel for editing. I'm going to

"Take An Action" here, to "Save My Progress".

Always remember "saving". Now I'm going to

move on to editing the text. All of

these Done-For-You funnels come with

text already in place, that gives you

guidelines for editing. I'm going to

get rid of the "Thing" and edit the text. I

come up to the "T" and up comes the usual

text editing menu bar. Here I'm going

to put just "PDF" and in the usual way. We

all know these different icons for

changing text, but you have a very

extensive library of scripts, that you

can use. I'm going to leave this simply

in Roboto. I'm now going to come down to

the next block and edit the text. I have

text over here, that I've already set up.

It makes it easier to write it out ahead.

Then you can just copy and paste. Go

to "text", copy and paste, so now I have my

text here.

I think that's just maybe a little

bit too big, the text, so I'll come down

to the side here. It's on 2.3 at the

moment. I'll let you see what it's like

at 1.8. Yes, that's probably about the

right size. Shall I change it to green?

Let me just see - maybe if I change the

text to one of my branding colors.

You have to put in the hashtag (#) first or

it won't work.

There's the color. Now I've changed

the color to match my branding

color on the image. I'm going to edit

this block - let's get some more text

here. Copy, back to Kartra, edit the text,

and I'm just going to add my copy and

paste here. Let's come down

change the "Thing".

Make

this is a little larger

- to 1.0.

You can play around with the text

and editing for ages, but I'm going to

"save my progress". This will be good

enough for now. At the moment, Kartra is

changing to be GDP compliance, so this

will become a GDP compliant form. Down

here. you would add your "About", "Privacy

Policy", "Terms" and probably a "Cookie

Policy", as well, at this stage, now that

GDP has come into force. These are

generic, so you can add those. You don't

have to add these each time. Finally, I'm

going to edit the form here. As usual,

we come across, we mouse over and up

comes our editing list. Click Edit and

over here, you'll find all the options

for changing your form. You can change

the style, the form itself. If you wanted

to put a different opt-in form here, I

can come and put a different opt-in form.

I can change the Fields, but in fact I

don't want to change anything. All I am

going to change is the Buttons. I've

already changed the text, but I'm going

to click on Button. I don't want this

blue color. I think I will change it to

my regular green. I'm going to come to

the color and down here, put in my custom

color, "Apply". Now the color is changed

to one of my branding colors and this

form is ready to go - "Return to dashboard".

We have configured our

opt-in page. Clicked here - we get a

confirmation here, that we are now 20%

How to Build a Developable Land Map in ArcGIS Online

Many local governments publish their parcel data online.

A quick search for "parcels"

We want to map land value, but it's a text field.

Maybe we can convert it to a number and map it.

Let's go to a street and look at some parcels.

This blog discusses this style of map, and how to convert text into numbers.

Read about and copy this simple Arcade expression.

Scroll down to choose "New Expression"

Paste the Land Value expression.

The expression converts text to numbers, and handles divide by zero cases.

Name the expresssion as you want it to appear in the map legend.

The values are instantly calculated. You don't need to own the layer to create and map this data on the fly.

Choose the "Above and Below" theme

The land can be anywhere from 0 to 100% of the total value.

We spread the color ramp such that 50% earns the "middle" of the color ramp, while the extreme values earn the darkest colors.

A brown to green color ramp clarifies which parcels are mostly land value (brown) or improvement value (green).

possible because of our leadership, our team the expertise they have

they are social media experts and have online businesses and saw this

opportunity and added it to theirs and so I am the mom that's coming in

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit always, wanted to find a way to

live my life! It only really comes in the package of network marketing to

build residual income and passive income and not just trade your life

your hours for money and so I have been able to build this business in one hour

a day with my kids being home and what what I was saying before about how

people will say like oh well it's just for stay-at-home moms like I feel like

No this is probably the hardest time because yeah I don't have the time!

and that could be your excuse and I will give you every reason why it shouldn't

be and how you know again me as your leader I'm there and I know that it's

possible in one hour a day 5 months I've built this business to

where I can stay home and pay our bills by my income and win trips and be on

track to get the car. I mean guys it really is life-changing and anyone who

actually looks at the paper and says oh this is what's possible and this is the

potential and you're not just listening to me

sell you a dream. You actually can see it and I can tell you oh you want to make

this much then you have to do this and you plug into this system that works

Everyone on my team...it really is like the road map has been set for you!

I want everyone to try it! You can create this life that we should all be

able to live. We should all have the choice to do what we want, when we want

how we want. Even with your business if you want to work it a little bit or

you want to work it a lot and I love staying home with my

kids and the flexibility but I still take them to the sitter. My daughter's

still enrolled in school and in you know two years she's gonna be in school all

the time, but this time is precious and to be able to if I want to stay

home tomorrow and not take her to the sitter because I want to work harder

that day or I mean I wouldn't have to but I'm just that type of person

but to be able...it's summer I want to go to the beach today with her

so let's go or I just want to go with her and take my baby to the sitter.

Anything is really possible and I just could go on and on about it but

about this...being a stay-at-home mom to be able to create the income and

still stay home with your kids because if you were sending them and going

back to work and you were sending them to childcare it would cost the same like

I get it and you can't even really get to being debt-free or or getting ahead

or having a savings especially if you don't have that second income coming in

again it's all active income and I've learned so much about residual income

and what can come from this opportunity and I just want to share it

Here's how you do it...

Go to Change Style and use some Smart Mapping techniques.

Choose an attribute to show.

And select this drawing style.

Let's use a continuous ramp.

Choose meaningful values.

Select a color ramp.

Remove unnecessary outlines.

Set the transparency based on a field.

Search the Living Atlas for the Human Geography Dark Basemap.

And set the Detail and Label as a reference layer.

Transparency makes a big difference!

else that's going to touch your creative projects and that's what we're talking

about this weekend hard facts hi I'm Samantha Cunningham's a velinski and I

want to make sure you have these six elements that are imperative to make

sure your brand is consistent across any piece of content you or a partner put

out there so let's start with the tone and as you're developing your brand tone

is really important to understand and identify so what kind of tone is your

content going to have is your brand going to have and this is important also

in identifying who your audience is going to be so if you're trying to talk

to athletes you may have one tone versus if you're trying to talk to suburban

housewives those two brands probably look completely different so think about

who your desired audience is how you communicate and how you want to be

perceived and then create your brand tone so what's fun is the color scheme

and I say it's fun because who doesn't like to look at color boards vision

boards and decide hey this is what I'm going to look like from here on out and

you want to pick ideally about five to seven colors that you're going to

utilize collectively in your brand and you're going to have about three primary

colors and no more than four secondary colors and you can break down the

thought process between primary and secondary like this think about your

background colors versus your buttons then as you developed your color scheme

get to work on your logo but once you've developed that logo you need to have a

couple different iterations of it so it's important to have multiple sizes

multiple file formats and also have those different color schemes so you can

have one logo but you can have let's say your colors like hard facts you'll see

the logos on the bottom of the screen we have different iterations of this logo

so if I'm putting on a black background there's one color and if I put it on a

white background there's another color so you can have different variations of

that logo but you also want to make sure that you have where those variations and

how those variations can be utilized because again that's keeping two overall

brand standards of when to utilize each piece of imagery and then from there you

also want to talk about the photography so these are two points one is going to

be your brand image so for example the brand image for hard facts is myself now

in your creative that you have yourself in all of your

imagery and all of your content do you have a frog for example we work with a

client and their spokesmodel is a frog or is it more the type of photography

that you use in everything and that is part two so the photographer you're

utilizing it's going to be really important that you pinpoint what your

brand represents in terms of imagery you're using so were you always going to

be utilizing photography that you and a team has shot or are you going to go

utilize images from excuse me images from stock photography sites and here's

where I really recommend you do your homework on the screen I'll pop up a

couple of examples over there of stock photography websites you can take a look

at but these are going to represent different looks and feels and has you

identified that brand tone correlates back to the tone of the photography that

you're going to utilize so for example you may want to use clip art type

photography and that is fine but if you have a very lifestyle brand or a very

nature based brand clipart maybe the ultimate nono and last but not least I

leave you with this one comment first don't fear here and I really mean that

font is what I'm talking about so often we get captivated in new font types or

new examples or new imagery we see other places but it's really important that on

your website on your branded content you have really many three types of font

that you're utilizing in different capacities what I mean when I say

different capacities is as you're bringing customer through your content

let's say and we're in form you have font that is the headline the sub

headline and then the content or a specific font you're using on top of

your images but do not veer from this because what you're doing essentially is

your coaching or audience how to digest your content through the font that

you're using and how you're organizing that font so often it's easy to say hey

you know what I feel like changing it up and using some Comic Sans today but that

doesn't match your brand imagery your brand guideline and it's not

communicating to your audience how to digest that content so really think

through all of these elements as you're building your brand guidelines but these

six pieces you're sure to make sure your brand is consistent through and through

How to Build an Emerging Trends Map

Here is a spreadsheet of commodity export totals, by different products.

Sixteen years of export totals, by product and by state, are available.

Create a new tab containing all products, all years, all states.

Import the data into a map so that we can do math on the data and symbolize the results.

Choose "Change Style" on the layer

The map responds to any field you pick...

...or scroll down to "New Expression" to calculate a trend.

Compare 2015 Beef exports to 2014. Repeat for all other commoditites.

This code finds which commodity grew the most in exports.

The name you type here appears in the map legend...make it clear and useful.

Now we see which commodity grew the most from 2014 to 2015.

A simpler basemap lets the states' colors stand out.

These colors give a good starting point.

But you can change the individual colors to communicate a little better about their subject.

You've calculated and mapped a trend that might otherwise remain buried in all those columns of data.
