I thought this idea was crazy to start with.

We were a little nervous. Had to take things apart a few times and rebuild them.

10 Weeks is a really short period,

going from a concept then design and then build the whole thing.

We've always done design-build-test, project based things in this course, and that's always

been a lot of fun.

We've never done something quite this scale before.

We want to make sure that when our students come in, they have a context for the engineering

that they're going to be doing.

You know, if they're going to be explaining the capacity of a 2x4 piece of lumber, we

want them to actually cut a 2x4.

I'm a freshman, civil engineering at Oregon Tech.

My mom used to say that I was going to be an engineer because I'd play with legos and

design weird things with them.

They're learning how to do project management through this and that's not something you

really learn until you actually do.

It's a new experience for me.

I'm a freshman, and building a tiny house at my level...

It's incredible.

I initially chose engineering because it's kind of close to what my family has done.

They were in the construction business, and I wanted to take it further.

Engineering, here, I thought was the better choice because we are a hands-on school.

Our professors really get the chance to know us because our classes are super, super small.

I come from industry, the other faculty members have an academic and industry experience as

well.

So, between the three of us we bring a wide range of experience to try to help the students

to know what it's really going to be like when they're out in the field.

The faculty just kind of guide us, if we have a terrible idea they'll be like "Oh, that's

a bad idea" but beyond that, it's all our decisions.

If there are any decisions to be made, we make them as a class, together.

It's really what we do here at Oregon Tech, hand-son and so this has been the ultimate,

hands-on learning experience.

They've learned through trial and error, some failure.

So far, we've had to come up with lots of plans, and change the plans lots of times.

It's pretty daunting, but a lot of fun.

The look on their face when you put a nailgun in a student's hand, and they've never experienced

that kind of power tool before.

Parents, they hear about and they want to join the class.

The impact of something like this on student is fantastic.

It really gives a sense of working in a team, and I feel like this is what that project

is all about. There's something really profound when you bring people with a diverse set of

skills together.

You get this opportunity to work together, towards a common goal.

And all of a sudden, all your creativity and excitement gets channeled into something that's

better than it possibly could have been with just one of us, alone.

How to build an online business in 1 hour a day staying home with your kids - Duration: 6:16.

Hi my name is Jen Deck and I want to be the first to introduce you to Monat. It is

a naturally based hair care line and it's a network marketing company. I'm a

stay at home mom or I say now a work at home mom. I want to tell you why or how it's

possible...how you can add it to your life because...most people will say Oh

network marketing is just for stay-at-home moms. This is the greatest

entrepreneurial opportunity that you could ever have!

You'll never have financial freedom or flexibility or time freedom anywhere

else. You're getting passive income and building a residual income stream that

will pay you forever and because of this ground-floor opportunity you know

because you share it...you're sharing it... we teach you how to share it!

Not in a sleazy, spammy way. We teach you attraction marketing. You share it with

5 friends who then share it with 5 friends and because this opportunity is

new and it's and it works. The product itself sells itself.

And it will be mainstream everyone will have it in their shower. And you got

in because you watched this video and you saw the opportunity. It's a business

model that is genius! You can't get in 5-10 years after it

started and the market is saturated and 5 of your friends are selling it or

people are already using it a lot that's the thing people haven't heard about it

yet so you're gonna be the first to introduce it to them and then as a

stay-at-home mom or let me say about the how I did it for a minute.

I did Arbonne and I didn't do the research but I saw the potential...I saw

that vision of the car, the life, the women

that were at the top of the company...I wanted that success and thought I could

do that but unless you have these things in

place not everyone is going to succeed. You can make $500 or I'm sure not even

$500 because there's girls on my team that have come from the health

and wellness industry and that's how much they made in like a year

and we're making that in like your first week again it's because of the timing

and I'm not just like making this...I'm not trying to sell a dream to you it's

possible because of our leadership, our team the expertise they have

they are social media experts and have online businesses and saw this

opportunity and added it to theirs and so I am the mom that's coming in

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit always, wanted to find a way to

live my life! It only really comes in the package of network marketing to

build residual income and passive income and not just trade your life

your hours for money and so I have been able to build this business in one hour

a day with my kids being home and what what I was saying before about how

people will say like oh well it's just for stay-at-home moms like I feel like

No this is probably the hardest time because yeah I don't have the time!

and that could be your excuse and I will give you every reason why it shouldn't

be and how you know again me as your leader I'm there and I know that it's

possible in one hour a day 5 months I've built this business to

where I can stay home and pay our bills by my income and win trips and be on

track to get the car. I mean guys it really is life-changing and anyone who

actually looks at the paper and says oh this is what's possible and this is the

potential and you're not just listening to me

sell you a dream. You actually can see it and I can tell you oh you want to make

this much then you have to do this and you plug into this system that works

Everyone on my team...it really is like the road map has been set for you!

I want everyone to try it! You can create this life that we should all be

able to live. We should all have the choice to do what we want, when we want

how we want. Even with your business if you want to work it a little bit or

you want to work it a lot and I love staying home with my

kids and the flexibility but I still take them to the sitter. My daughter's

still enrolled in school and in you know two years she's gonna be in school all

the time, but this time is precious and to be able to if I want to stay

home tomorrow and not take her to the sitter because I want to work harder

that day or I mean I wouldn't have to but I'm just that type of person

but to be able...it's summer I want to go to the beach today with her

so let's go or I just want to go with her and take my baby to the sitter.

Anything is really possible and I just could go on and on about it but

please reach out if any of this pulls you or you feel like

this is the answer to anything! I know financially I'm not even talking

about this...being a stay-at-home mom to be able to create the income and

still stay home with your kids because if you were sending them and going

back to work and you were sending them to childcare it would cost the same like

I get it and you can't even really get to being debt-free or or getting ahead

or having a savings especially if you don't have that second income coming in

again it's all active income and I've learned so much about residual income

and what can come from this opportunity and I just want to share it

with you guys! So please reach out! Thank you so much!
