Tutorial: How to Access the Dark Web - Duration: 6:10.

Hello Everyone!

In this tutorial, I will introduce you to the Tor Browser

also known as the Dark Web

and how it can be downloaded and used in a private or library setting.

I will begin the tutorial with the assumption that my audience has no background knowledge of Tor

and has not previously downloaded the Tor browser.

In doing so

I should briefly describe what Tor is for you all

Tor is an acronym for The Onion Router

So named because the communication networks through which the online connections are run

are encapsulated in many layers of encryption as with the layers of an onion.

These layers of encryption can make a user virtually invisible

and able to access content that would not otherwise be available to an internet user

To get started with our Tor experience, we'll launch an internet browser that is already installed on our computer

I use Mozilla Firefox, but you may use your browser of preference

When Firefox has opened, we'll navigate to torproject.org, that's www.torproject.org.

On the Tor website you'll find several resources that might be valuable for your first Tor experience

Such as information about how Tor works

and a variety of studies Tor has conducted about the use of its product

For now, though, just select "Download Tor"

When we reach this screen, we'll have the option to select our operating system

It defaults to Windows, but we can select Mac or Linux.

We'll also have opportunity to select our language for the download

and we'll most likely just select English for that.

Then we'll select "Download Tor Browser."

This will bring up the "install" box, and we'll just save this file

and then we'll select "run" the file

We'll select our language again. I'll select English.

And then we'll be prompted to select an install location.

Typically, the default location selected by the browser will suffice

however, you have the option to select any location on your computer that you'd like in which to install your file.

Then select "install" - and it will load fairly quickly...

And then we'll be asked whether we'd like to run Tor Browser upon successful install

and whether we'd like to add a shortcut to our start menu and desktop.

We'll keep both of those selected and click "finish."

When the download is completed, we will a "Connect to Tor."

This is something you will be greeted with each time you connect to the Tor Browser

So we'll select the "connect" button and we'll allow Tor to connect to the network.

When Tor has successfully connected, we will be greeted with the home screen.

and several different options about how to stay more anonymous and more about the product and how to make a donation

We will navigate up to the navigation bar at the top

and we will visit the Dark Website for Facebook.

So to do that we will type in the navigation bar

Facebookcorewwwi.onion, that's facebookcorewwwi.onion

and hit "enter."

and here we are, at the Dark Website for Facebook

You'll see that it looks very similar to your traditional Facebook site

The main difference that you'll be able to notice is in the address bar.

So you might wonder at this point, "what's the value of being anonymous on a social network?'

"Isn't the point to have people recognize who you are and be able to engage you in conversations?

The answer is that, while Facebook can still collect information about you

any website that you are on will be able to collect a certain amount of information about you:

who you are and what kinds of things you're searching for on their site -

and you're friends can still see that you're online, of course,

what this website does that a traditional Facebook website does not

is make it so that Internet Service Providers, Advertisers, and Governments cannot track what you're doing

It essentially makes it so that you decide who sees what you're doing

and doesn't allow hidden entities to, in a sense, 'look over your shoulder'

and so here's what it looks like when you're logged in, and again you'll notice it looks very similar to your traditional facebook.com

Dark Souls 2 True Pacifist Run [7] - The Rotten - Duration: 8:26.

My friends, fellow white phantoms, my name is Sol, also known as SolTheCleric, the Dark

Souls pacifist and welcome to episode 7 of my True Pacifist Run of Dark Souls 2 Vanilla.

In this episode we'll finally face our second Old One: the Rotten.

This boss might not seem that difficult in a casual playthrough but, in this challenge

run, thanks to our bad defenses and his high attack rate, any direct hit from him will

probably result in a one-hit KO.

So I decided to sacrifice some of my HP to equip the Northern Ritual Band to get some

extra casts of Whisper of Despair in the hope to keep the boss debuffed for a longer period

of time.

And also the Varangian helm for... uhm fashion purposes.

So, without further ado, let's go summon both Lucatiel and Schmidt

and let's get this over with.

So, the next boss room is riddled with "lava pits".

And even if Lucatiel is completely immune to them, our main DPS, Schimdt, is absolutely

not so I'll have to constantly adjust my position to try to keep him on safe ground.

Schmidt's DPS will determine the outcome of the next fight

and it will not be an easy one.

Well that was the first time I saw Schmidt actually surv...

Oh, nevermid.

Schmidt, my friend, your sacrifice will not be in vain.

I promise.

Well, technically you didn't really have to commit suicide like that but I appreciate

your efforts nonetheless.

Very well then, in the next episode we'll rescue a Petrified damsel in distress, meet

the most powerful Scotsman in videogame history and, most importantly, finally reach the Shaded

Woods so see you guys in episode 8.
