This Project Runway Finalist Is Making Muslim Fashion Mainstream | AJ+ - Duration: 4:31.

Getting to the end of Project Runway,

they start to eliminate people.

[Clip]: "Auf Wiedersehen."

Margarita got eliminated, so it's three left:

Kentaro, Me, and Brandon.

Brandon is like the sweetheart, the whole season.

And so, Brandon gets eliminated.

Holy crap... Are they gonna give it to me?

I grew up in a very small, tight knit

Muslim community in upstate New York.

I'm number eight of eleven children.

We were poor, so all of my clothing was hand-me-downs

from my older sisters, so I would put my own spin on things.

Cut hem lines, add ruffles, or what have you.

I actually sold my first garment when I was ten years old.

I was definitely a little kid fashion designer.

And being a quiet child, I just found that to be a way

that I could scream really, really loudly.

I guess I was like, Muslim, and so I had to get married.

I was 19 when I met him, 20 when I married him,

he had just gotten a new job, and I ended up leaving school

and I moved to Tennessee.

I was scared, I was sad, and I was not fulfilled

because I wasn't doing something that I loved.

I had a gift and, you know, I wasn't in the driver's seat

of my life and it was really tough when I...

I know it's just sewing, but honestly, it's the one thing

that I do that know what the outcome will be.

I'm sorry!

(Ayana cries)

I didn't plan to cry, sorry!

And so, my husband and I weren't on the same page

and we eventually got divorced.

I was supposed to be studying anatomy and physiology,

but I was actually watching YouTube videos, and I came

across a designer named Rabia Z and her work was so good.

I decided, actually at that moment, that I was gonna get

in the driver's seat, pursue my design degree,

and I was gonna take control.

Project Runway was the biggest

emotional roller coaster of my life.

One second, you're super excited,

and the next second, you're so scared.

Like, I need Tim Gunn to love me, that's very important.

These are the people that you want to critique you,

because what they say goes, in the fashion world.

When Project Runway shared our pictures of the cast,

one comment was like, "Oh, if she puts that symbol"

"of male oppression on the girls, then I'm not watching!"

"This is not Project Runway International,"

"what is going on?"

I thought to myself, like, "that's what they're saying now,

but when they see how well I've kicked butt on the season,

it's going to shut them all up", and it did.

The very first challenge, I wanted it to be very, very

apparent who was in the building.

And just seeing her, you know, walking down the runway,

she's wearing her hijab, it's trailing behind her,

she's got that Project Runway sign behind her,

moments like these are so meaningful.

[Clip]: "Ayana you are the winner of this challenge!"

I learned so much during that time,

you know, to step out and to just be free.

Making some really outlandish things,

to follow a certain guideline of dress,

but at the same time, be fashion forward,

and be trendy and feel young and feel beautiful.

The judges loved it.

I had, you know, older women, young women, coming up

to me and saying, you know, "Thank you, we love this!",

or "Just please keep pushing forward, we really need this!"

I was just doing me, I was having a great time,

and it just so happened that I was a Muslim girl.

[Clip]: (cheering)

Fast forward to New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week!

Tim Gunn and me, watching my work on the screen.

My models are all dressed, they look really great,

and the finale hijab was so great, it was amazing.

And I was like, bawling.

[Tim Gunn]: "It's spectacular."

After coming from not having much of anything

growing up, you just never know how far you can go.

You can build, and, like, you can make more.

I didn't win, but with being on this show,

I was able to get my name out there, so to speak.

My plan, eventually, is to be a household name.

It's scary, but I like a challenge.

Diane Keaton Just Might Be Our New Favorite Fashion Influencer of 2019 - US News - Duration: 3:12.

If you don't follow on Instagram stop everything and change that. The legendary actress has officially become our favorite fashion influencer of 2019

It's no secret that the Annie Hall star has been a fashion icon for decades, showing off her unique sense of style from red carpet tuxedos to funky top hats

Now she's bringing that same sense of chic quirkiness to her Instagram page with #OOTD pics and we're loving every second of it

Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel's Hairstylist Harry Josh Spills On the 6-inch Haircut Trend This Spring  A few weeks ago the 73-year-old started posting mirror selfies to showcase her daily offbeat ensembles

"TODAY'S OUTFIT," she simply captioned the first post on February 1. In the shot she's wearing a black pantsuit accessorized with chunky black boots, a thick belt around the waist and a tall, wide-brim hat that's just about Pharrell-status

In her next #OOTD snap on February 4, she is shown in another black ensemble (this time a skirt) which she wore with the same boots and belt — only this time she traded in her cap for multiple oversized silver cross necklaces

Because, of course.  On Monday, February 11, the First Wives Club actress proved just how little she cares about so-called fashion "rules

" Rocking a baggy white dress and platform white sandals, in the caption she wrote "TODAY'S OUTFIT: WHAT DO YOU THINK? IT'S FINE TO WEAR WHITE YEAR ROUND, RIGHT? I SAY 'YES!' WHAT THE HELL?!"  A few days later, on February 13, she posted a snap in a Thom Browne suit

But a three-piece plaid suit on its own is too boring for the style maven.  To amp up Wednesday's outfit, she threw a poofy black skirt on top

"I PUT THIS SKIRT OVER THE PANTS JUST TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. TOO MUCH?" No Diane, for someone of your iconic status, it is not too much

There's a lot to love about these posts from the all-caps captions to the repeat in what are clearly her favorite items

But most importantly, in a day and age where Instagram feeds are clogged with endless streams of fashion bloggers and influencers, Keaton reminds us that fashion doesn't always have to be taken too seriously

Meghan Fashion - How the Queen intervened to stop PRIVATE pictures of Kate Middleton from being pub - Duration: 3:07.

The royal family closely guards its private lives and the Queen does what she can to preserve and safeguard the reputation of the monarchy

In 2009, The Daily Telegraph reported that Her Majesty "authorised a crackdown on the paparazzi" amid intrusions into the private lives of the royal family

The Queen and Prince Charles instructed Gerrard Tyrrell, a senior lawyer specialising in privacy and media law, to mastermind the privacy strategy

Mr Tyrrell is known to have briefed senior royal aides on a series of options in the event of photographers continuing to take photographs of the royal family in "private" situations

Following the crackdown, 2005 documentary "Chasing the Royals" reveals that the Queen's lawyers threatened legal action over private pictures taken of the Duchess of Cambridge, who at the time was only Prince William's girlfriend

Kate was photographed during a Christmas holiday with her family at Resormel Manor in Cornwall, playing tennis on Prince Charles' courts

Media organisations in the UK accepted the request from Buckingham Palace not to publish the pictures, but they appeared in the German press

The photographer who took the shots, Niraj Tanna, said in the documentary: "They [the royals] do not want any private, unofficial photographs released to the press whatsoever

"So they are clamping down like there is no tomorrow. "If I'm on a public footpath, I would assume it is all fine

'It has been okay up to now, and suddenly, the goalposts have been changed. "Now, I photograph exactly where I am even if its a public road i put it on a map, exactly where i have been standing what i have been doing "I have even got witnesses

" Despite his carefulness, Mr Tanna's path crossed Kenginston Palace once more in 2014, when the lawyers of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge asked him to "cease harassing" their first-born Prince George

A Kensington Palace statement said they were prompted to take legal action after the man was spotted near George and his nanny in a park in central London

Lawyers for the photographer, Niraj Tanna, claimed he had done nothing wrong and would continue with his work

Meghan Fashion - Mystery as Meghan's photobooth shot is removed from BFC's Instagram - Duration: 2:16.

The Duchess of Sussex took part in a starry photobooth session at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night - but the results appear to have been moved from Instagram

The boomerang-style shot of the mother-to-be, 37, with Givenchy designer Clare Waight Keller and actress Rosamund Pike was posted on the British Fashion Council's account following the awards ceremony

However, the shot taken by photographer Yvan Fabing is no longer on the BFC's Instagram page, even though black and white GIFs of other celebrities and designers are still on the account

It is not clear why the photobooth snap of the Duchess has been removed, although another picture of Meghan on stage remains on the BFC's Instagram account

The black-and-white GIF of Meghan, which sees her holding her bump while posing with Clare and Rosamund, still remains on photographer Yvan Fabing's Instagram page

MailOnline has contacted the British Fashion Council for comment.   Meghan wowed in in a black velvet dress as she surprised her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, by stepping out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall to present her with the prestigious British Womenswear Designer of the Year award

A clearly overwhelmed Clare, 48, thanked Meghan personally in her speech at the star-studded awards ceremony at the historic venue in Kensington, London

Meghan honoured her bridal gown designer Clare Waight Keller at this year's Fashion Awards, surprising her by stepping out on stage  The designer said: 'This woman is so amazing

I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you on such a personal moment in their life

I can't thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment.' The Duchess of Sussex looked sensational in a black one-shoulder velvet gown, believed to be Givenchy, as she clutched her baby bump

The pregnant duchess kept her makeup to a minimum, wearing her hair tied back in a bun and adding simple gold earrings and gold bangles

Meghan also wore a dark nail color to match her stunning one-shouldered dress, despite traditional protocol advising that female royals must stick to a barely-there nude shade whenever they are attending official events

Addressing the assembled fashionistas at the Royal Albert Hall, the Duchess said: 'It's such a pleasure to be here, celebrating British fashion and British designers, in my new home in the UK

'  Meghan wowed in a black velvet dress as she presented the British Designer of the Year Womenswear Award to Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy  The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex kept her hair swept back in a low bun, and wore minimal makeup at the event, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall Meghan gave a speech on stage as she made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night, wearing a black one-shoulder dress She said of fashion, that 'we have a deep connection to what we wear

Sometimes it's deeply personal, sometimes it's emotional,' and said that for her, it was 'really in being able to understand that it's about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women

'She praised the 'kindness' and the 'values' of Clare Waight Keller, who created the gown in which she walked down the aisle this May

Clare was the master British designer behind the sleek silk boat-necked gown and long billowing veil worn by Meghan as she walked down the nave of St

George's Chapel for her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19.The first female artistic director of French fashion house met the Duchess for the first time earlier this year, Kensington Palace said, with Meghan requesting a dress with an 'elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring, and relaxed demeanor

'The veil carried floral references to all 53 countries in the Commonwealth, and the palace said workers spent hundreds of hours sewing the delicate flower designs into the veil, meticulously washing their hands every half hour to keep the silk tulle and threads clean

The minimalist wedding gown designed for the Duchess by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy - which won the designer tonight's celebrated British Designer of the Year Womenswear Award - had a boat neck framing Ms Markle's shoulders and a five metre long white silk veil which included floral detail representing all 53 countries of the Commonwealth

Meghan Fashion - Kate's Sandringham Christmas 'will be an ordeal' amid rumours of rift - Duration: 3:38.

The Duchess of Cambridge's Christmas will be an 'ordeal', a royal biographer has claimed, amid rumours of a rift between her and Meghan

Christopher Wilson - who has written biographies on Charles and Camilla - suggested Kate, 36, will be wanting to get away to her own family in Bucklebury, following Christmas at Sandringham with the Queen and other royals

He added that the recent suggestions of tensions between the Cambridges and the Sussexes 'won't make things any easier between the girls'

Kate and William, along with children George, Charlotte and Louis, will be at the Queen's Norfolk residence for Christmas this year, despite previous reports that they would be spending the day in Bucklebury with the Middletons

Speaking to new!, Christopher said: 'Kate's a homebody and loves being with her own immediate family at Christmas - off-duty and relaxed

'Sandringham Christmases can be an ordeal, even for those born royal - and generally those who've married into the family often can't wait to get away

'As with many seasonal family gatherings, there can be undercurrents and the publicity over the Meghan clash won't make things any easier between the girls

' Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37 - who are expecting their first child together in the Spring - are expected to stay at Kate and William's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, this Christmas, as they did last year

There were previous suggestions that the Cambridges would be spending Christmas Day with the Middletons, as they did in 2016

Kate's mother Carole revealed in a recent interview with the Telegraph that her grandchildren have Christmas trees in each of their bedrooms at Bucklebury 'so that they can decorate it themselves'

It comes after rumours of a rift between the Cambridges and Sussexes, after it was announced that Harry and Meghan would be moving away from Kensington Palace to Frogmore House in Windsor

There were claims that Kate was left in tears following Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid's dress fitting, ahead of Meghan and Harry's wedding in May, as well as suggestions the pair had clashed over staff

However, royal insiders have insisted that there has been no falling out between the Cambridges and the Sussexes, but admitted the pair are 'very different people'

A source previously told the Daily Mail's Rebecca English: '[W]hile there are some tensions behind the scenes, Kate is pretty unflappable and nothing has become bad enough to make Harry and Meghan want to move out

'People are genuinely pleased to see them so happy.'The truth is that there simply isn't enough room at Kensington Palace for them and I know they have been looking at Windsor as a possibility since before the wedding

Meghan Fashion - REVEALED: Meghan Markle's past Christmases - Duration: 3:46.

When Meghan Markle sits down with the rest of the royal family for their traditional Christmas dinner this year, it will be a stark contrast to her previous holidays spent in the US

Long before meeting husband Prince Harry, Meghan had spent the holiday season delivering turkeys to homeless shelters in Skid Row, a square mile of downtown Los Angeles packed with thousands of destitute people who seek shelter in dirty tents on the sidewalks

Skid Row is known for its high crime rate and, come nightfall, up to 10,000 homeless people - many with drug, alcohol and mental health problems - will congregate in the impoverished neighborhood

But that didn't stop the Markle family from helping those in need. Meghan's parents Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland insisted on handing out turkeys at holiday times

At one stage, Markle even volunteered at Hippie Kitchen, a long-standing Skid Row soup kitchen

In an essay on her humanitarian work, Markle once wrote: 'My parents came from little so they made a choice to give a lot: buying turkeys for homeless shelters at Thanksgiving, delivering meals to people in hospices, giving spare change to those asking for it

'It's what I grew up seeing, so it's what I grew up being: a young adult with a social consciousness to do what I could and speak up when I knew something was wrong

'What a difference from the opulent surroundings of Sandringham House, in Norfolk, where the royals have been enjoying the Yuletide every year since 1988

When the Queen and her relatives open presents on Christmas Eve, Markle, 37, will be able to tell her new family the story behind one of her father's first gifts, which made her proud of growing up in a mixed race household - Thomas is white, Doria black

According to Andrew Morton's biography, Meghan Markle: A Hollywood Princess, her father bought two sets of Heart dolls containing the traditional nuclear family unit of mother, father and two children

'He bought one with black dolls, one with white, and mixed them together to represent Meghan's own family

Then he wrapped them in sparkly Christmas paper and placed the box under the tree,' Morton writes

While the duchess has been praised for her past and present charity work, it's also been noted that she has a sense of entitlement and it's not a recently acquired trait

Harry was quoted as saying: 'What Meghan wants, Meghan gets' - but apparently her father also doted on the duchess

Growing up as the favorite of her father, she'd demand what she wanted at Christmas and pretty much always get it, much to the annoyance of her half-siblings, Thomas Jr and Samantha, Morton's book claims

Morton writes: '[Samantha] often told the story of the time before Christmas when Meghan was looking at a jewelry catalog and picking out a ring, which Tom Senior had promised as a gift

She teased her much older sister by saying that whatever her father bought [Samantha], Meghan would receive the most expensive gift as she was the most favored child

During the holiday periods, while living in Woodland Hills, the Raglands and Markles would get together for a true southern feast of sweet potato pie, gumbo, ham hocks and beans, which Thomas Jr recalls as 'good times', adding: 'They were happy-assed people with a real sense of family

'The royal Christmas dinner will be a whole new ball game with the youngest princes and princesses eating separately from the adults and cared for by nannies, a tradition which means Markle's newborn will be in a separate room from her next year - unless Meghan insists otherwise

According to former chef Darren McGrady, who has cooked nine Christmas dinners for the royals, their food palates aren't the most adventurous, saying: 'They're actually boring when it comes to festivities… turkey, different stuffings – sage and onion, chestnut – and the traditional sides like roast potatoes, mash potatoes, parsnips and Brussels sprouts

'The pudding was made in pudding basins, turned out, decorated in holly, doused in brandy and then the palace steward would carry it, flaming, into the royal dining room

It was so traditional.' While studying at Northwestern University in Chicago, if she didn't go back home to Los Angeles for Christmas, Meghan would stay on campus and hang out at her women's sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, where she handily lived next-door at the North Mid-Quad halls of residence

Markle credits the nearby 24-hour Burger King for keeping her going during these times, as well as, the Mexican-food chain Chipotle, just across the road

She had said in a blog post years ago that 'little girls dream of being princesses', but they must have been almost impossible to envisage as she was tucking into burgers and fries, sitting on hard plastic chairs under the stark bright lights

After landing the part of Rachel Zane in Suits, she started dating film producer and first husband Trevor Engelson, and would spend her weeks commuting between Los Angeles and filming in Toronto

Special events like Christmas and Thanksgiving would be split between her new beau and the cast, who would party together in Toronto with 'Meghan bringing her Vitamix super-blender to whip up soups and cocktails for the group,' according to Morton

When back in LA for Christmas with Engelson, 42, she'd be watching sports in the dive bars, near their two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow in West Hollywood, behind Sunset Strip

It's believed the couplemet in a dive bar and - after Meghan was introduced to basketball by her ex-boyfriend Steve Lepore in college - Engelson and Markle would frequent drinking spots such as the legendary Irish sports pub, Rock & Reilly's, virtually on the corner of their home street

As seen in our photos, the 'sawdust and spittoons' taprooms aren't dissimilar to the British pubs Harry, 34, used to visit in his mischievous teenage and twenty-something years

When Meghan eventually met her English prince - apparently on a blind date at the trendy Soho Farmhouse - the pair celebrated Christmas prematurely in 2016

Due to royal protocol, they had no hope of spending the actual day together, so had a week at Nottingham Cottage, in Kensington Palace, during early December

They bought a tree at Pines and Needles, in Battersea, south London, and staff even gave the smitten pair a branch of mistletoe for good luck

Morton goes onto tell the story: 'For the most part they managed to elude the watchful paparazzi, the couple wearing matching blue beanie hats to obscure their faces

'They walked through the theater district, where they saw the slapstick comedy Peter Pan Goes Wrong and sometime later the brilliant staged The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on Mark Haddon's novel

'

Meghan Fashion - Meghan Markle HONOURED: Duchess to receive THIS tribute just like Kate and Princes - Duration: 1:46.

Meghan has been married to Prince Harry for nearly nine months, following their lavish nuptials at St George's Chapel, Windsor

The newlyweds announced in October 2018 that they are expecting their first child, and all eyes are on Meghan's growing baby bump

Now the Duchess of Sussex has been given an honour bestowed to Princess Diana and Kate Middleton

What honour has the Duchess of Sussex been granted?Meghan joins several members of the Royal Family in having a flower named after them

The flower, named Clematis Meghan, will be launched at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) 2019 Chelsea Flower Show by specialists Thorncroft Clematis

Bred by New Leaf Plants, Clematis Meghan is described as a "lovely new clematis…named after the newest addition to the royal family Meghan Markle after her marriage to Prince Harry on 19th May 2018

" Read More: Meghan Markle: What will Duke and Duchess of Sussex name royal baby? The plant has "stunning dark purply-red summer flowers" which bloom "in abundance May-June and again from late July-September, on the current season's growth

"There are several other Royal Family members who have had Clematis flowers named after them

These are: Clematis viticella 'Prince Charles'Clematis 'Prince Philip'Clematis texensis 'Princess Diana'Clematis viticella 'Prince George'Clematis texensis 'Prince William' Clematis is one of the most popular garden plants, and are also known as Old Man's Beard, Traveller's Joy and Virgin's Bower

They are a genus of around 300 species within the buttercup family and are mainly of Chinese and Japanese origin

Meghan's flower will not be the only royal feature at the Chelsea Flower Show this year

The Duchess of Cambridge is displaying her own garden at the show.  Titled 'Back to Nature', the garden will be designed by the Duchess of Cambridge, Andree Davis and Adam White

The garden will be "inspired by childhood memories" and is "key to the RHS's partnership with NHS England, promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing that access to green spaces and gardening provides" according to the RHS website

Following the Chelsea Flower Show, plants and landscaping from Kate's garden will be given to an NHS Mental Health Trust

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show will take place between May 21 and 25.

Meghan Fashion - Ben Fogle shows off his VERY organised bookshelf - Duration: 1:52.

She's been making waves as a fashion influencer since joining the royal family, and it seems that the Duchess of Sussex could even be inspiring interiors trends too

Presenter Ben Fogle, 45, has shared a snap of him decorating the Christmas tree at his London home with daughter Iona, seven, on Instagram, with the youngster perching on his shoulders to hang decorations

But his impeccably colour coded bookshelf risked detracting attention from the festive decorations in the cut snap

Ben and his wife Marina's library is clearly organised according to the shade of the book jackets rather than by author, a styling trick Meghan also used in the Toronto home where she lived while filming Suits

A snap shared by the royal on her Instagram, which has since been closed down, shows her beagle Guy perched on her bed with a selection of books arranged by colour on the shelf behind

The Duchess lived in the rented property while filming US legal drama Suits and would often share photos of the clean, feminine interiors on Instagram before shutting down her account

The photos show fresh flowers, coffee table books and expensive candles seen on display throughout the home

As well as her impeccably organised shelf, Meghan artfully arranged her books around the house, turning them into design features by perching jugs of flowers on top

Her collection of coffee table fashion books, includes former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld's style bible and Linda McCartney's photographic memoir

The Kinfolk Table by magazine editor Nathan Williams also features in several of her snaps, a tome that's part cookbook, part narrative tale and part photography from around the world

Of course, Meghan will soon have a new home to settle into when she and Prince Harry quit Kensington Palace for Windsor where they will set up home at Frogmore Cottage with their first child

The royal residence, once home to Queen Victoria's manservant Abdul Karim, is situated in the private Home Park and looks out onto the stunning grounds of Frogmore House, which Harry and Meghan chose as the location for their formal engagement photoshoot

Frogmore Cottage affords the newlyweds more privacy than they have ever previously enjoyed, which is likely to have been the deciding factor in choosing their first family home

Harry and Meghan will renovate the cottage ahead of moving in and are likely to make the most of the space by adding touches like a home gym - and a nursery

The cottage is currently divided into five separate units where palace staff have been living

Meghan Fashion - SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE Meghan will do reading at charity carol service - Duration: 5:22.

Prince Harry has become somewhat estranged from old friends since falling for Meghan Markle, so this evening will give him the perfect chance to mend fences

I hear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to attend a charity Christmas carol service where many of Harry's old pals will be among the congregation

It is held in Chelsea by the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, established in memory of a close friend of Princes William and Harry who was killed in a car crash at the age of 18

'Meghan has been asked to give a reading,' a source tells me.Some of Harry's oldest pals were shocked to discover that they were not invited to the evening party after his wedding in May

Pippa Middleton's brother-in-law, former Made In Chelsea lothario Spencer Matthews, is a reformed man

Not only has he given up his womanising to wed Irish model Vogue Williams, the mother of his two-month-old son, but he now reveals he's sober

'I have not drunk since early June,' says the 30-year-old Old Etonian, whose brother, James, wed Pippa last year

A spokesman at Dave's office declines to comment on 'a private matter'.The £200,000 building work includes development of a 90ft suite of outbuildings and enlargement of the kitchen, with new oak doors that will 'weather to a silver grey'

'We have to be out by the end of January and have nowhere to move to,' she tells me

The impending eviction is the consequence of High Court action taken against Pugachev by state creditors in Moscow who accuse him of embezzling more than £655 million

At least Alexandra's spirit remains unbroken. 'I'm working as hard as I can to look after my children,' she says defiantly

It's not exactly rock 'n' roll, but Queen guitarist Brian May admits he goes to his local nail salon for a super-strong acrylic manicure to protect his hard-worn fingernails

'These days I'm dependent on powder gel. My finger nails don't hold up to the guitar playing

In fact these nail coverings have really changed my life on tour,' he rhapsodies

'I recommend them to any guitarist. They're hard as iron. When the coverings finally fall off about two months later your nails are in a hopeless state

So back to the salon you go.'    Bowie's widow Iman rocks glam headscarf It's been nearly three years since she lost her husband, David Bowie, to cancer but clearly Iman hasn't lost her ability to sparkle

The Somalian-born supermodel, 63, posted this picture of herself wearing a £78 red sequin top and headscarf from her eponymous line

Earlier this year Iman spoke about how upsetting modern manners can be.'People take pictures of me in the street, and say: 'I am so sorry for your loss

' I'm like, you just took pictures of me, how can you be sorry?'

Meghan Fashion - Prince Harry pines for Meghan Markle on Valentines Day with picture 'SHRINE' - Duration: 4:18.

Harry looked dashing in his military uniform as he arrived in Bardufoss, far north in the Arctic Circle

The prince sported his trademark stubble and proudly wore his wedding ring for the trip

It is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first Valentine's Day as a married couple

At one point Harry sat in a makeshift igloo, called a Quincey shelter, to give a realistic experience of life in the Arctic Circle

The prince laughed as he was confronted with two images of he and his wife on their wedding day

He said: "You weirdos. It's very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it

"And the music, is that part of it? Romantic isn't it." Harry's trip marks the 50th anniversary of Commando Helicopter Force and Joint Helicopter Command deploying to the base for extreme cold weather training

Military personnel are taught how to survive, operate and fight in the sub-zero conditions, as well as gaining experience of operating aircraft in severe cold weather and mountainous environments

The multinational Exercise Clockwork, hosted by the Norwegian armed forces, comprises environmental flying qualifications, cold weather survival, and snow and ice driving courses

Harry, in his role as Captain General Royal Marines, will meet military personnel living and training at the base

The 36-year-old took over as Captain General Royal Marines from Prince Philip in December 2017, who held the appointment for 64 years

Temperatures at the remote base can reach as low as minus 35C (minus 31F), but Harry has faced freezing climates after trekking to the North Pole in 2011 and South Pole in 2013 with army charity Walking With The Wounded

Lieutenant Colonel David West, officer commanding Exercise Clockwork, said: "We are celebrating 50 years of Exercise Clockwork today and are honoured to be able to welcome the Captain General of the Royal Marines to Bardufoss to mark the occasion

"Harry is used to rigours of harsh climates and so will fully understand the dangers of trying to live and operate in such an extreme environment

"Clockwork continues to deliver vital training for our people. "It provides essential experience in flying and surviving in the extreme cold hundreds of miles inside the Arctic Circle

"For 50 years Commando Helicopter Force and its predecessors have operated in this region and the skills learnt here are more relevant than ever

" Meghan is home alone today while Harry took part in the military training. She has previously spoken of how she is a "sucker" for romance

Writing on her now-closed lifestyle blog in 2015, Meghan said: "Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day

"Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I'm immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss

"This is all happening in black and white, of course."
