 Meghan Markle celebrated the upcoming arrival of her first baby with husband Harry at a private baby shower in the exclusive The Mark Hotel in New York

The Duchess of Sussex is reported to have received numerous presents for the royal tot – some of which appear to suggest the gender of the baby – but friend Gayle King revealed Meghan surprised them all with her decision not to open the gifts

The CBS anchorwoman said the Duchess had decided to wait until her return to London to make sure Harry was available to open the presents with her

  Asked what she had decided to get Meghan, Ms King said: "If I told you I would have to kill you because she didn't open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she and Harry are back together

 "So I really don't know what everybody got her. I got something I think is very nice

But she is a very private person so I think she should decide what she wants to say about this

 "A good time was had by all, that's what I'll say." Ms King also shed some light on the activities Meghan and her friends enjoyed at the event, saying the Duchess had "generously" donated the flowers to a New York charity after she and the guests had learned how to arrange bouquets from an expert

They did flower decoration – flower arranging – they brought in someone to explain how to arrange flowers

 "We all each made an individual vase and then Meghan got in touch with an organisation I had never heard of, Repeat Roses, and all of those were donated to different charities

I thought that was a very sweet thing. "It speaks to who she is. She is very kind, very generous, and a really, really sweet person

I think her friends just wanted to celebrate her." Genevieve Hillis, Meghan's best friends and fellow sorority sister at Northwestern University, had tennis superstar Serena Williams help her arrange the exclusive baby shower at the end of a five-day visit to New York before the Duchess flew back to London

  A host of celebrity guests were seen arriving including Meghan's former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and designer Misha Nonoo, who is thought to be the mystery pal who set up Meghan and Harry

 Meghan's best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney was also on the guest list but Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, who lives in Los Angeles, was noticeably absent

 Sister-in-law Kate was also absent from the bash as she was reportedly on a ski holiday with her husband Prince Harry and their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis

 The Cambridges chose this time because it is the half-term holiday so Prince George, 5, would not be at school

A Royal source told The Sun the family has gone on a "snow-filled holiday". While Kate missed out on the celebrations Meghan enjoyed the company of her A-lister friends, including Human Rights lawyer Amal Clooney and make-up artist Daniel Martin

 Mr Martin sparked speculation among royal fans that Meghan and Harry could soon be welcoming a baby boy after he shared a sweet photo of the baby-themed treats guests were given at the party

 The photo show biscuits shaped and decorated in white and pale blue icing - indicating that Meghan could be expecting a baby boy

 The biscuits feature a stork carrying a newborn in a blanket with a blue tinge, as well as a rattle and a bib with the word "baby" written in black icing

You'll need basic long sleeve T-shirt

Square sequins

beads and thread

I used different beads in the same colour range because I haven't had a lot the same colour

It's kind of recycling your old beads

I used one bead for one sequin

I did 3 rows near each other

and then started to sew it more and more losely

I did it the same on the other side

I started with 4 rows on the back side

I made a triangle on the sleeve

I connected back side

and then started to add more and more sequins...

And that's it!

It looks unique and new!

Today I'm super excited because I'm with the amazing

Piper Kittersong who is a brilliant model,

amazing student, and gender influencer.

We're gonna make some amazing images and you can come along.

Oh that's cool, yeah yeah yeah.

Do some like, huh, huh, huh, yeah.

Yeah yeah yeah good, oh great yes. Perfect.

And that expression is great, looking different places.

The thing that's cool is that your glasses will kind of

reflect differently. Yeah.

Depending on where you have 'em.

Yes great, that's fabulous. Good.

So you're kind of moving with different...

(music drowns out speech)

The key light today is a beauty dish which is an

amazing, amazing light modifier because inside of here

there's a little white dish and so the light hits the

dish and then reflects around in a circle.

This bad boy is a six foot umbrella.

And the light is facing into that and then reflecting out.

And its gonna create great fill for us so that

the shadows that the beauty dish creates is just

gonna be filled in more so the contrast is a little less.

The last element operating today are these two background

lights and, I use strip banks which are really great

because it spreads and creates a nice even wall of light.

So these are angled towards the background

to illuminate the background.

They are also creating a little bit of what's called spill.

Its also making sure that the background stays white.

Otherwise those lights that are the main source of light

would be fading into a little bit of a gray

which is also beautiful, but today we want this to be

a little bit, hotter, punchier, whiter.

Love that and then lets do some with the glasses up.

Yes that's great. Good.

Priyanka Chopra does not seem to be attending her friend Meghan Markle's baby shower at The Mark hotel in New York City on Tuesday

The Quantico actress shared an Instagram photo that same day that suggested she was on the west coast as she tagged the post Beverly Hills

'Mellow yellow' was all she said in her caption.The actresses have been friends since January 2016 when they bonded at an Elle Women in Television event

 Chopra attended Meghan and Harry's splashy royal wedding England in May 2018. She wore a light purple suit and was seen mingling with James Corden

But Meghan did not go to Priyanka's wedding to Nick Jonas in India in December.And the two pals have not been seen together in recent months even though Chopra has made trips to London

In 2017 Meghan said she and Priyanka became friends easily. 'You know when you meet someone and you just click?' said Markle

'It was just an easy, natural progression. We've managed to keep in touch via email and text, and try to see each other whenever we're both in the same town

'The Duchess of Sussex - who is pregnant with her and Prince Harry's first child - has jetted across the pond to mark the impending arrival of her little girl or boy with her friends and family

  Meghan's stylist Jessica Mulroney has been co-ordinating the event, which will take place at the exclusive Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan

And they will be joined by 15 of her closest friends. Details of the party are being kept private

But Meghan's former Suits co-stars Abigail Spencer has already been seen heading to the shower

And she carried a blue bag suggesting the Markle is having a son.It is also thought Benita Litt, whose daughters Rylan and Remi took part in Meghan's wedding, and Sarah Rafferty will also be in attendance

Other famous faces expected to be on the guest list includes Amal Clooney and Serena Williams

Before her shower, Maeghan was seen in a bespoke coat as she headed to the Met Breuer museum

 Meghan has been in New York for a few days now, spending her time with Jessica.  The duo visited Laduree in SoHo over the weekend before heading shopping for some baby clothes

  Meanwhile, Meghan's husband Prince Harry recently admitted impending fatherhood has made him more aware of his 'responsibility' to the world

 Speaking at a Commonwealth youth discussion in London last month, he said: 'As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation

The only way to see real progress is not by chance, it's by change.'

One of the guests at Meghan Markle's $300,000 baby shower is opening up about her afternoon with the Duchess of Sussex

Gayle King said on CBS This Morning that she and other guests were taught how to arrange flowers at the party, and that Markle then donated those arrangements to various charities

She also said that she could not reveal the gift that she purchased for Markle because the guest of honor did not open any of her presents, choosing instead to wait until she got back to London and was with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle's friends threw her a baby shower in New York yesterday, a couple of months before her due date in April,' said King's co-host Bianna Golodryga

'She arrived at the Upper East Side venue yesterday amid tight security. The party included some big-name guests including Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, and our very own queen Gayle King

' Nora O'Donnell the immediately turned to King and asked: 'How was it?King very diplomatically replied: 'A good time was had by all

' O'Donnell then asked: 'What did you get her?'King then fired off the standard, 'If I told you I would have to kill you' line, suggesting she might not be game to spill any details

 That was not the case.'She didn't open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she goes back to London, when she and Harry are back together,' explained King

 'I don't know what everybody got. I think I got something I think is very nice. But you know, she's a very private person

 King then revealed that the shower was hosted by Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney and Genevieve, who has been Markle's best friend since the age of 17 when they met at Northwestern

'It was a small, private affair, and a special time for her,' said King. 'Having a baby is a great thing

'

I've always believed that my two biggest assets are number one, I'm a woman and

number two, I'm Asian. My philosophy is indulgence is a necessity, it's not a

whim. I work hard, I deserve it.

care of themselves, love themselves, work very hard, whether you're a housewife or

you're, you know, working and have a career, it doesn't matter.

I knew nothing about the industry but in many ways I think ignorant was bliss and

so I really approached it instinctively and learned on the job. I really take

pride that we are one of the few still family-owned businesses in a very, very

tough industry. I couldn't do it of course without, you know, the support,

without the organization, the team certainly my family.

"because we factored in ordering the fabric and then..."

It's my parents credit, they never pressured me

to join the business and we never really talked about the business that much I

really came in with my own views and was given the leeway to establish new

businesses and to address some of these new opportunities. It's really been a

fabulous thing to be able to have Kenneth here. Kenneth has been able to

bring practices into the company that was much needed. He's built the e-comm

business. We feel like even though we're forty years old that the company, the

best is yet to come and that you know we are doing everything to make sure that

the company is relevant to the next generation.

"Of course you're gonna hit it there you're gonna see it"

I am very fortunate that I come from

family of very strong women, where my grandmother taught me from age three

that to be independent and never have to depend on anyone and be your own person

and when the opportunity came to go to college in the United States I told my

parents I would like to go to the United States and I did!

I majored in economics and decided you know work in Wall Street and had an

amazing career of nine years in Wall Street where I was fortunate enough to

be the first woman vice president in investment banking at Merrill Lynch.

"The numbers are have greatly improved"

Although my background is involved in

finance I've had to face what every other business owner has to - in terms of

growing pains of the business. Being part of the Wells Fargo family, to

me, has been a plus for Natori.

Knowing that we have Wells Fargo there

and knowing that we we trust the people there and that we're with an established

bank has really made life easier for us.

She's been a valued client for many many

years and she's an ideal client for us. We had this mutual respect. We understand

her business we trust and admire the way that she's run her business. She

knows that we'll be there for her when she needs us. You can't be in this

Meghan Fashion - Samantha Markle urges sister Meghan to see her dad on US trip - Duration: 7:17.

Meghan Markle's estranged sister says she wants her to use her visit to the US to contact their father, DailyMailTV can reveal

Samantha Markle, 54, of Ocala, Florida, said the pregnant royal should be allowed to enjoy her lavish baby shower but should also take the opportunity to meet with Thomas Markle Sr, 74

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, has been on a private visit to New York since Thursday and was seen enjoying macaroons at French patisserie Ladurée in Soho over the weekend

Earlier on Tuesday, she visited the Met Breuer art gallery with former Suits co-star Abigail Cooper

 Although her mother Doria Ragland, 62, was not on the guest list and was seen running errands more than 2,500 miles away in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, Samantha said Meghan should take the time to reach out to their father

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, she said: 'Setting all personal things aside, I understand a baby shower is an exciting time – it's about getting with friends, getting things ready for the baby

'But you are on this continent Meghan and I would just really love to see her have contact with my dad while she's here

'Life is very short and you never know when you're going to get that opportunity again so it would seem par for the course and I hope it happens

'The Duchess of Sussex has had a troubled relationship with her father since he missed the royal wedding last May, after being caught staging fake paparazzi photos near his home in Rosarito, Mexico

The retired lighting director then suffered a series of heart attacks and was forced to pull out of the nuptials – leaving Prince Charles to walk Meghan down the aisle

He has gone on to give a series of interviews in which he revealed some of Prince Harry's political views and claimed his daughter had frozen him out

Most recently, he responded to a story in a celebrity magazine that said Meghan feels 'victimized' by his press activities by releasing a personal letter that chastised him for speaking to the media and criticized him for not reining in Samantha

Samantha is currently working on a two-part book about her sister called 'In the Shadows of the Duchess', with part one due in April close to when Meghan gives birth

DailyMail.com revealed earlier this month that the discovery of Samantha's literary ambitions in April 2017 left Meghan in tears and resolving never to read interviews with members of her family

Samantha has now told DailyMailTV that she isn't demanding a relationship with Meghan, whom she has not seen since 2008, but does think she needs to remember who her family are and not try to replace them with 'a parade of celebrities'

She said: 'She's a woman, she's got her own thing going on and we wish her well but family is family and you don't replace your whole family with a parade of celebrities

'She can't replace me with George Clooney or Serena Williams – I'm her sister. I hope we might get to bridge that gap and if not, she might regret it

'All I can say is I cry. With a baby coming, it might be time to look at things and try it again

'The 54-year-old also told DailyMailTV that she doesn't mind being left out of the baby shower and is past being upset about the wedding but does hope to have a future relationship with Baby Sussex

Samantha also insisted that it is Meghan who is to blame for the estrangement, not the family, and said if their grandmother Doris, who died in 2011, was still alive, she would tell the Duchess to 'snap out of it'

She said: 'Family is family. The wedding is long past and we'll never be able to recoup those moments and those memories

'But life is short and I think our grandmother who we both adored who gave us our family values would say, 'Meg, snap out of it

This is your family, this is your sister'.'I'm always open to that, and although I have criticism that I've made public and feelings I'm not going to candy-coat, the bottom line is it's not the family, it's Meg

'She needs to do a turnaround and make things better with family and you can try replacing your family with celebrities all you want but at the end of the day, when you look in the mirror, it's not going to cut it

'Meghan, who is around seven months pregnant, will return to London tomorrow ahead of an official trip to Morocco over the weekend

The itinerary, which kicks off in Casablanca, will involve a visit to a girls' school in the remote Atlas Mountains and a trip to a market in the Andalusian Gardens in Rabat

She is due to give birth in late April, with Samantha telling DailyMailTV that she hopes she will teach the new baby to appreciate family and to be grateful

She also called for another family truce, saying she does not want the new child to one day google his or her relations and read about mudslinging and public fights

She said: 'I think everybody needs to stop mudslinging. There's a baby coming into the world who's going to soon be in elementary school googling all this stuff and going, 'Oh my god

What is up with my family just fighting all the time?''What kind of message does that send to a kid about conflict resolution? So I would say to Meg, do the right thing because your baby is going to be looking to you as a role model on how to deal with conflict resolution – we're a family, we make things work

'This is what we pay forward. On that note, let's all do the right thing, have a great year and pay everything forward

'

Meghan McCain has grilled fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on whether he illicitly leaked to the New York Times, drawing a stunned reaction from the former lawman

 McCain directly confronted McCabe when he appeared on The View on Tuesday during a media tour to promote his new book, titled The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump

 McCabe was fired last year by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who cited his 'lack of candor' during an internal investigation into media leaks about the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails

'I don't believe you're a reliable narrator and I'm not convinced this isn't just some kind of PR campaign to stop yourself from getting indicted,' McCain said to McCabe

  'You were fired at the recommendation of the FBI, which, in your book, you cite four times how great of an organization it is, for your lack of candor

''I would like you to say right here on national TV that you were not a source for The New York Times

You were never a source for The New York Times, or any other publication, considering that is what you were accused of lying about,' McCain said as a stunned McCabe looked on

 'Absolutely not, not at any time, ever,' McCabe replied. 'When I was serving as deputy director, I was one of two people in the FBI that had the authority to disclose information to the media,' the disgraced FBI bureaucrat continued

  'That is an FBI policy, it's baked into the way that we run media relations in the organization

So I transacted on issues regarding the media every single day,' he said. McCain then pressed McCabe on why fired FBI Director James Comey had testified under oath that he had not authorized his deputy's communications with the press on the instance in question

'I don't know why Jim Comey doesn't remember the conversations that we had in the same way that I do,' McCabe answered

 'It is understandable. He was under an enormous amount of stress at the time. He had a lot of other, kind of, more important things to worry about

I can't explain why he doesn't remember them the same way I do.'

 The Duchess of Sussex looked fresh as she stepped on England soil last night, arriving back from her six-day trip to the Big Apple

 Meghan was spotted wearing an all-black sports ensemble, a black cap and a beige coat as she left the Upper East Side Mark Hotel to board her flight on Wednesday night

 A source who spoke to Harper's Bazaar had previously confirmed Meghan would embark on a relaxing solo trip, where she would meet her friends and respect the American tradition of the baby shower

  They said: "The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves
