This Project Runway Finalist Is Making Muslim Fashion Mainstream | AJ+ - Duration: 4:31.

Getting to the end of Project Runway,

they start to eliminate people.

[Clip]: "Auf Wiedersehen."

Margarita got eliminated, so it's three left:

Kentaro, Me, and Brandon.

Brandon is like the sweetheart, the whole season.

And so, Brandon gets eliminated.

Holy crap... Are they gonna give it to me?

I grew up in a very small, tight knit

Muslim community in upstate New York.

I'm number eight of eleven children.

We were poor, so all of my clothing was hand-me-downs

from my older sisters, so I would put my own spin on things.

Cut hem lines, add ruffles, or what have you.

I actually sold my first garment when I was ten years old.

I was definitely a little kid fashion designer.

And being a quiet child, I just found that to be a way

that I could scream really, really loudly.

I guess I was like, Muslim, and so I had to get married.

I was 19 when I met him, 20 when I married him,

he had just gotten a new job, and I ended up leaving school

and I moved to Tennessee.

I was scared, I was sad, and I was not fulfilled

because I wasn't doing something that I loved.

I had a gift and, you know, I wasn't in the driver's seat

of my life and it was really tough when I...

I know it's just sewing, but honestly, it's the one thing

that I do that know what the outcome will be.

I'm sorry!

(Ayana cries)

I didn't plan to cry, sorry!

And so, my husband and I weren't on the same page

and we eventually got divorced.

I was supposed to be studying anatomy and physiology,

but I was actually watching YouTube videos, and I came

across a designer named Rabia Z and her work was so good.

I decided, actually at that moment, that I was gonna get

in the driver's seat, pursue my design degree,

and I was gonna take control.

Project Runway was the biggest

emotional roller coaster of my life.

One second, you're super excited,

and the next second, you're so scared.

Like, I need Tim Gunn to love me, that's very important.

These are the people that you want to critique you,

because what they say goes, in the fashion world.

When Project Runway shared our pictures of the cast,

one comment was like, "Oh, if she puts that symbol"

"of male oppression on the girls, then I'm not watching!"

"This is not Project Runway International,"

"what is going on?"

I thought to myself, like, "that's what they're saying now,

but when they see how well I've kicked butt on the season,

it's going to shut them all up", and it did.

The very first challenge, I wanted it to be very, very

apparent who was in the building.

And just seeing her, you know, walking down the runway,

she's wearing her hijab, it's trailing behind her,

she's got that Project Runway sign behind her,

moments like these are so meaningful.

[Clip]: "Ayana you are the winner of this challenge!"

I learned so much during that time,

you know, to step out and to just be free.

Making some really outlandish things,

to follow a certain guideline of dress,

but at the same time, be fashion forward,

and be trendy and feel young and feel beautiful.

The judges loved it.

I had, you know, older women, young women, coming up

to me and saying, you know, "Thank you, we love this!",

or "Just please keep pushing forward, we really need this!"

I was just doing me, I was having a great time,

and it just so happened that I was a Muslim girl.

[Clip]: (cheering)

Fast forward to New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week!

Tim Gunn and me, watching my work on the screen.

My models are all dressed, they look really great,

and the finale hijab was so great, it was amazing.

And I was like, bawling.

[Tim Gunn]: "It's spectacular."

After coming from not having much of anything

growing up, you just never know how far you can go.

You can build, and, like, you can make more.

I didn't win, but with being on this show,

I was able to get my name out there, so to speak.

My plan, eventually, is to be a household name.

It's scary, but I like a challenge.

Inside the Archive That Houses 500 Years of Royal Family Fashion | Royal family stories - Duration: 10:34.

The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection includes pieces worn by royals from George III and Victoria to Diana and the Queen

When a young Princess Elizabeth received sample shoes ahead of her wedding day to Philip Mountbatten, she was clearly delighted with the design

However, she did, it seems, have one major concern that she would be able to walk comfortably down the aisle of Westminster Abbey to say her vows

More than 70 years on from that historic day, the Queen's sample wedding shoes are among 10,000 items tucked away in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection at Hampton Court Palace, south west of central London

Like everything in the collection, these sandals have a story to tell."This is the sample shoe that would have been shown to the then-Princess Elizabeth in 1947," Eleri Lynn, the curator responsible for the collection, tells T&C, wearing gloves to carefully handle the ivory satin piece made by British manufacturer Rayne

"As you can see it's unfinished, so she wouldn't have worn it, but she would have seen it and approved the design

What we do know is that she certainly suggested that the heel wasn't quite so thin because the real ones have a more solid thick heel, so that's obviously something she thought about

".The ability of clothes to tell a story about the person who wears them is fascinating for anyone—but even more so when it comes to the royals, whose thoughts and desires often remain elusive to the general public

The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection holds items going back almost 500 years relating to members of the Royal Family and their court or ceremonial life on the British Isles

The collection is housed across 12 rooms that used to be the servants quarters of the Tudor palace, and roughly a third of the clothes were once worn by royals with the rest belonging to staff or those who attended court

Pieces owned by George III, Queen Victoria, Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, and the Queen are cataloged and hung in white Tyvek bags, or laid in boxes if they are especially delicate, and kept in regulated temperature and humidity

One such item is a Liberty print dress worn by Princess Elizabeth in 1936—the year her father unexpectedly became King George VI, and she found out she would eventually become Queen

"What I really love about this dress is that she clearly loved it very much because it's been very well-worn and mended and let out so she clearly got a lot of wear out of it," says Lynn

"That idea of thrift and remaking and reuse is something you hear from a lot of her designers, that she's always been very practically minded when it comes to clothes," Lynn continued

The Queen was quite pragmatic about her children's clothes, as well."One of her designers, David Sassoon, remembers going to Buckingham Palace for a fitting," Lynn explained

"It was a fitting for Princess Anne, and the Queen came in and asked 'Will it wash?'"

Another item once belonging to the current Queen is a silk dress that she wore when she was 11 months old

The little peach outfit is accompanied by a photograph of the princess with her nanny Clara Knight

Like a lot of the clothing housed at Hampton Court, this dress was bought at auction after being handed down by Clara's descendants

There is no automatic process for royal clothes to make their way into the collection, and it is run by charity Historic Royal Palaces, not the royal family or its household

That said, many of the items are brought out to go on display in exhibitions in royal palaces

For example Diana's dresses were recently on show at Kensington Palace. In addition to the glamorous gowns the Princess of Wales was known for, there are also less recognizable items relating to Diana stored at Hampton Court, including a tweed jacket from the 1970s that she is thought to have owned before she met Charles

"This is [from] before she became princess," says Lynn of the jacket, "but it's really of her style as a young woman because she was very sloaney

the style that was really in favor with young girls, mainly aristocratic young ladies who were often in the country

".The jacket helps to illustrate how Diana's style evolved over the course of her life

"[The jacket is] an unexpected object for Diana. She stepped onto the international stage so young and had to learn how to dress as a working royal princess, and she really honed her look very quickly," says Lynn

"Like all of us she learned her style over a number of years, so by the time she was in her 30s as a confident working woman, championing her humanitarian causes and dressing in these incredibly glamorous dresses, she had found her style

As a young woman she was very fashionable. This was very fashionable in the late '70s

".Lynn points out that it was in the mid-1980s that Diana cultivated a more "timeless" look

In addition to clothes, there are also sketches and letters, including ones written from Diana to David Sassoon, one of her longest-serving designers, who crafted the going away outfit for her wedding day

One letter she penned in 1987 about a white dress he made for her reads, "Everyone up here went wild about the long white dress!" Another asks for modifications to a design of his

The collection also houses the black outfits that Queen Victoria wore following the death of her husband Albert

The prince died in 1861, and Victoria remained in mourning until her own death in 1901

These pieces reveal how her staff dealt with the fact she wore so much black."In a lot of Queen Victoria's clothes, often a little white label, a little bit of white fabric is sewn in the back," Lynn says

"That's so that her laundresses and her maids know when it's dirty and it needs a wash

".Notably, the oldest item in the collection is thought to be the Bristowe Hat. Made of plum-colored silk with a green ostrich feather, it is believed to have been given to keeper of the royal wardrobe Nicholas Bristowe by Henry VIII and dates back to the 1540s

"If it belonged to Henry VIII or not, we can't prove. But the fact that the family believed it was, they kept it almost like a relic, and that's why it survived," Lynn says

"They kept it in pristine condition.".About 40 percent of the items are menswear, including some belonging to King Edward VIII, who abdicated after just 11 months on the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson

Describing him as a "real dandy" Lynn says, "The best tailor on Saville Row at the time wouldn't make the kind of trousers that he wanted, because he wanted American-style trousers, which were high-waisted trousers with a belt, and the English style at the time was to wear it with braces, no belt

".She continues, "Often he would send the fabric to America to have his trousers made in the American style

Wallis Simpson called them his 'pants across the sea.'".When clothes arrive to be part of the collection they are usually frozen for three to four days to eradicate pests and their eggs

Once catalogued—a process now done digitally—they are put away until needed for an exhibition, a private viewing, or when they are taken out for audits

"Hopefully every object will have its moment," Lynn says of the opportunity for the pieces to be seen in public

With such a spotlight on the royal fashion of Kate and Meghan, could any of their much-photographed outfits one day find their way into this huge closet of historic secrets?

"It would be well-within our collecting remit and our collecting policy to collect something that belongs to a current member of the royal family

We would like to do so if it did come up," Lynn says. However, the collection does not yet have any items relating to the young royals

As Lynn says, "It's still a working wardrobe and this story is still unfolding."

Meghan Fashion - Is THIS where Meghan and Doria slept on the eve of the royal wedding? - Duration: 2:16.

A new documentary is set to give an insight into life at Cliveden House - where Meghan and her mother Doria stayed the night before the royal wedding

Channel 4's A Very British Country House shows staff at the five-star hotel in Berkshire getting into a frenzy as they prepared to welcome a top secret VIP guest, from chefs in the kitchen to the maintenance men

One of the hotel's Grade I-listed suites, featuring a plush bed and antique furniture, is seen being painted ahead of the arrival - with speculation mounting over who the guest might be

It is not clear whether this is the exact room that the Duchess of Sussex, 37, stayed in on the night before her wedding - but it is likely that she would have stayed in a similar suite in May

Staff ensured they laid on the red-carpet treatment for Meghan and her mother Doria, 62, when they stayed at the £1,500-a-night hotel, set in nearly 400 acres of National Trust countryside

Speaking about the 'honour' of having Meghan stay at the hotel, butler Michael says in the programme: 'Various different people had various different ideas about who it might have been or might not have been

'We were all very excited when we found who it was. We felt like we'd pulled the plum on that one

It was an exciting honour. It's nice to be part of such of a big, and world-wide event

'General manager Kevin, who greeted Meghan and her mother Doria on their arrival, added: 'It was just the most beautiful wedding, and the most beautiful day

'For Cliveden to have just a very small part of that, albeit the night before, was just amazing'

He revealed that the Meghan effect has been in full action at the hotel in the aftermath of the wedding, with numbers of guests soaring after two million people watched the Duchess leaving Cliveden with Doria on the morning of her wedding

Staff revealed that the number of wedding enquiries for Cliveden had also risen since Harry and Meghan's big day, although there were still some concerns about negative Trip Advisor reviews

In the first episode of the Channel 4, the careful preparation that goes into welcoming a VIP guest to the hotel was evident during the first episode of the Channel 4 documentary

Speaking about the speculation over who the visitor might be, receptionist Chloe said: 'We know that it's going to be someone that's higher-ranking in the VIP world

'There are a lot of whispers, it's a bit of a guessing game as to who it is. It's definitely putting the pressure on us big time

'Meanwhile, maintenance man Mark was seen repainting a luxury suite ahead of the special visitor, but admitted he didn't know who the guest was

'There's a VIP coming that wants to stay this room. We've been asked by the management to basically re-paint the bad areas of the room,' he explained

Kensington Palace announced just days before the royal wedding on May 19 that Meghan and her mother Doria would be staying at the Cliveden House, where previous guests have included the likes of Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and the Queen Mother

Harry stayed 15 miles away at the Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park in Ascot, close to the Guards Polo Club, with his best man and brother the Duke of Cambridge

A Very British Country House airs on Channel 4 at 9pm on Sunday.

Meghan Fashion - Aide who quit as Meghan Markle'sassistant worked for Robbie Williams - Duration: 2:48.

When the Diary disclosed earlier this month that the Duchess of Sussex's closest aide had quit suddenly, no one was more surprised than friends of the pop star Robbie Williams

For I can reveal that Meghan Markle's personal assistant previously worked happily for the former Take That star

Her name, which was previously given only as 'Melissa', is Melissa Touabti, a 39-year-old French woman

'Robbie Williams is a lively character, but she worked for him longer than she worked for Meghan,' a pal tells me

Melissa resigned from her job at Kensington Palace just six months after the American actress married into the Royal Family

'It's a real shock,' a source said at the time. 'Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?'It's not known if Williams provided a reference for Melissa, but the singer and his wife, fellow X Factor judge Ayda Field, enjoy close links to the Royal Family

Their six-year-old daughter, Theodora, was one of Princess Eugenie's bridesmaids at her wedding at St George's Chapel, Windsor, last month

The couple had become good friends with Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank after being introduced in 2011 by the Princess's mother, Sarah, Duchess of York

After Meghan's PA quit, a Palace source was authorised to pay tribute to her and the role she played in helping organise Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding

'Melissa is a hugely talented person,' the source said. 'She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household

'Royal biographer Robert Jobson claimed in his book Charles At Seventy, which was serialised in this newspaper, that Meghan's wedding preparations were so stressful that Harry became 'petulant and short-tempered' with members of staff

He wrote: 'Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: 'What Meghan wants, she gets

' '

Meghan Fashion - Michelle Obama's advice to Meghan on dealing with sudden stardom - Duration: 4:30.

Michelle Obama has given some advice to Meghan Markle on dealing with the pressures of stardom in a newly released interview

The former First Lady chats to Good Housekeeping about her new wildly popular memoir 'Becoming' and has some guidance to offer the Duchess of Sussex

The 54-year-old said: 'So my biggest pieces of advice would be to take some time and don't be in a hurry to do anything

'I spent the first few months in the White House mainly worrying about my daughters, making sure they were off to a good start at school and making new friends before I launched into any more ambitious work

'I think it's okay – it's good, even – to do that…. What I'd say is that there's so much opportunity to do good with a platform like that – and I think Meghan can maximise her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she's doing something that resonates with her personally

'Mrs Obama also talks about the increased amount of sleep she is able to get now she doesn't have the hectic schedule of a First Lady

She added: 'Thankfully I get more (and more regular) sleep these days. 'But it probably won't come as a surprise to anyone that sometimes it was a real challenge [living in the White House] to keep up with the pace……'Then on top of the demands of our schedules, I'd usually need to wake up long before Barack to get my hair and make-up done and get dressed for a public event

'I laugh a lot about how easy it was for Barack to choose his wardrobe – 'Tie or no tie? What do you think honey should I roll up my sleeves?'So when you add that all up, I didn't always get a lot of sleep

'The new memoir which was released on November 13 has already sold more than 1.4 million copies worldwide and has received a number of positive reviews

Both Michelle, and husband Barack Obama have been working on memoirs, with with former US President's expected in 2019

In the interview with Good Housekeeping Mrs Obama also touches upon the topic of women in society today

She said: 'In many ways, things are harder for young women today. 'But what's inspiring to me is that so many of the young women I've met are triumphing in incredible ways

'Unlike my generation, they're not as held back by the societal belief that girls and boys can't do the same thing

'They're charging forwards in sports and maths and science and technology. 'They're speaking up and speaking out, not just in classrooms but in the public arena at a young age

I find great hope in this generation of young women.' The former First Lady also looked back on her time at the White House as 'full of great memories

'She added: ' "To be honest, I really don't do a lot of looking back or pining for what used to be, which is something that is true for every phase of my life, not just my time in the White House

'I promise I'm not trying to dodge your question – it's just not the way I'm built! I recognise that I'm incredibly blessed to live the kind of life I live today and mainly, I'm grateful that my daughters, my husband and I all came out of those eight years in one piece

'We had a wonderful life in the White House, full of great memories with family and friends

"The full interview appears in the January issue of Good Housekeeping, on sale December 3

Meghan Fashion - Meghan Markle HONOURED: Duchess to receive THIS tribute just like Kate and Princes - Duration: 1:46.

Meghan has been married to Prince Harry for nearly nine months, following their lavish nuptials at St George's Chapel, Windsor

The newlyweds announced in October 2018 that they are expecting their first child, and all eyes are on Meghan's growing baby bump

Now the Duchess of Sussex has been given an honour bestowed to Princess Diana and Kate Middleton

What honour has the Duchess of Sussex been granted?Meghan joins several members of the Royal Family in having a flower named after them

The flower, named Clematis Meghan, will be launched at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) 2019 Chelsea Flower Show by specialists Thorncroft Clematis

Bred by New Leaf Plants, Clematis Meghan is described as a "lovely new clematis…named after the newest addition to the royal family Meghan Markle after her marriage to Prince Harry on 19th May 2018

Meghan Fashion - Harry 'fell out' with William as he 'wasn't making effort with Meghan' - Duration: 4:22.

Prince Harry 'fell out' with brother Prince William as he 'felt he wasn't rolling out the red carpet' for Meghan following their engagement, sources have claimed

An insider said that Harry, 34, believed William, 36, wasn't making enough effort to welcome his then fiancee into the royal family

According to the source, the tension between the brothers was only resolved when Prince Charles stepped in - leading to William and Kate to invite Harry and Meghan to spend Christmas with them at their Norfolk home

It comes amid rumours of a rift between the Cambridges and the Sussexes, following the announcement that Harry and Meghan will be moving away from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage

Speaking to Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl, a source claimed that 'any issues are between the brothers'

Meanwhile, a mutual friend said: 'Harry felt William wasn't rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so

'They had a bit of a fall out which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort

That's when the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them.'  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed at Anmer Hall, Norfolk, last Christmas, and joined the Queen and the rest of the royal family at nearby Sandringham for Christmas Day

A source also told the publication that 'Kate and Meghan are very different people and they don't have a lot in common but they have made an effort to get along

'Kensington Palace announced on Saturday the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be moving to Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, ahead of the arrival of their first child in the Spring

It had been widely speculated that Meghan and Harry would move into Apartment 1, at Kensington Palace, next to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 22-room home

Following the announcement, sources insisted there was no acrimony between the Cambridges and the Sussexes

The insider told the Daily Mail's Rebecca English: 'The idea of the two of them as "the boys", the brothers doing everything together and living in each other's pockets, has been pushed with good intentions, but hasn't really existed for some time

'The truth is that they have both just grown up. They are rare in that they live together and work together, but there has been a stepping back

'They are still incredibly close, closer than most siblings, but now Harry has married and is about to become a father, so it's a good time for him to be planning his own future

There is no acrimony.' Other sources suggested Harry and Meghan's options in London were limited, and that the couple wanted their children to grow up away from the 'goldfish bowl' of Kensington Palace

' One source said: 'The truth is that there simply isn't enough room at Kensington Palace for them and I know they have been looking at Windsor as a possibility since before the wedding

'However, others have hinted that there may have been tensions between the two Duchesses ahead of the royal wedding in May

The Telegraph reported that two sources have told the newspaper that Kate was 'in tears' following three-year-old Charlotte's bridesmaid dress fitting earlier this year

MailOnline has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.

Meghan Fashion - Ben Fogle shows off his VERY organised bookshelf - Duration: 1:52.

She's been making waves as a fashion influencer since joining the royal family, and it seems that the Duchess of Sussex could even be inspiring interiors trends too

Presenter Ben Fogle, 45, has shared a snap of him decorating the Christmas tree at his London home with daughter Iona, seven, on Instagram, with the youngster perching on his shoulders to hang decorations

But his impeccably colour coded bookshelf risked detracting attention from the festive decorations in the cut snap

Ben and his wife Marina's library is clearly organised according to the shade of the book jackets rather than by author, a styling trick Meghan also used in the Toronto home where she lived while filming Suits

A snap shared by the royal on her Instagram, which has since been closed down, shows her beagle Guy perched on her bed with a selection of books arranged by colour on the shelf behind

The Duchess lived in the rented property while filming US legal drama Suits and would often share photos of the clean, feminine interiors on Instagram before shutting down her account

The photos show fresh flowers, coffee table books and expensive candles seen on display throughout the home

As well as her impeccably organised shelf, Meghan artfully arranged her books around the house, turning them into design features by perching jugs of flowers on top

Her collection of coffee table fashion books, includes former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld's style bible and Linda McCartney's photographic memoir

The Kinfolk Table by magazine editor Nathan Williams also features in several of her snaps, a tome that's part cookbook, part narrative tale and part photography from around the world

Of course, Meghan will soon have a new home to settle into when she and Prince Harry quit Kensington Palace for Windsor where they will set up home at Frogmore Cottage with their first child

The royal residence, once home to Queen Victoria's manservant Abdul Karim, is situated in the private Home Park and looks out onto the stunning grounds of Frogmore House, which Harry and Meghan chose as the location for their formal engagement photoshoot

Frogmore Cottage affords the newlyweds more privacy than they have ever previously enjoyed, which is likely to have been the deciding factor in choosing their first family home

Harry and Meghan will renovate the cottage ahead of moving in and are likely to make the most of the space by adding touches like a home gym - and a nursery

The cottage is currently divided into five separate units where palace staff have been living

The Duchess of Sussex continues to wow the public with her dress code nine months into her royal role but Meghan's longtime followers with a keen eye for detail have spotted a change in her wardrobe

While she was known for splashing colour and taking risks with her style during her single days, since marrying into the one of the world's oldest royal families the expectant mum's outfits have been considerably toned down

These days Meghan, 37, is known more for her conservative, classy and cream-coloured numbers - something which celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson puts down to a number of factors

Ms Patrickson told the Evening Standard: "Cream is such a flattering tone for anyone with olive or darker complexions

"It all pops against her dark locks and really makes a statement in a very chic and elegant way

" Meghan's lack of colour in her modest outfit choices is also seen as a nod to her in-laws as she tours the globe promoting the royal family's causes

Ms Patrickson said Meghan's choice of ivory, beige and oatmeal dresses and coats could also be part of her efforts to not overshadow her important duties while carrying out royal engagements

Meghan is expected to focus on being of service to the nation as opposed to using her platform to showcase outlandish or daring dresses

Ms Patrickson said: "When you are in the spotlight, the way that Meghan is, your fashion choices need to reflect the right morals and standing

"As each of Meghan's outfits will be meticulously planned by royal aides, the focus will centred on keeping within the royals' clothing standards but making a statement is not off limits

Skirts and dresses must reach the knee, pantyhose are favoured, and colourful nail polish is frowned upon

After choosing a white coat for her engagement announcement with Prince Harry, a white midi dress for Royal Ascot, and a pastel pink number for her first appearance at Trooping the  Colour, Meghan has continued with the neutral trend during her pregnancy

Some of her most eye-catching maternity ensembles include a head-to-toe blush outfit she chose for a recent visit to the National Theatre, and a matching cream dress and coat when she stepped out to see a performance at the Natural History Museum

The nude colours, according to Ms Patrickson, make the duchess's look timeless and elegant and ensure her choices will be admired for years to come

Meghan Fashion - SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE Meghan will do reading at charity carol service - Duration: 5:22.

Prince Harry has become somewhat estranged from old friends since falling for Meghan Markle, so this evening will give him the perfect chance to mend fences

I hear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to attend a charity Christmas carol service where many of Harry's old pals will be among the congregation

It is held in Chelsea by the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, established in memory of a close friend of Princes William and Harry who was killed in a car crash at the age of 18

'Meghan has been asked to give a reading,' a source tells me.Some of Harry's oldest pals were shocked to discover that they were not invited to the evening party after his wedding in May

Pippa Middleton's brother-in-law, former Made In Chelsea lothario Spencer Matthews, is a reformed man

Not only has he given up his womanising to wed Irish model Vogue Williams, the mother of his two-month-old son, but he now reveals he's sober

'I have not drunk since early June,' says the 30-year-old Old Etonian, whose brother, James, wed Pippa last year

'My life is immeasurably better now I am clean and sober.'    It was simple enough to install a £25,000 shepherd's hut in the garden, but other improvements to David and Samantha Cameron's £1

5 million Cotswold retreat are proving more protracted than expected.Indeed, the couple's hopes of returning for Christmas have, I hear, been dashed

Instead, they will remain in a nearby property which they rented a while ago as a stop-gap

'They've extended the rental agreement through to Easter because their works have taken longer than they'd hoped,' explains a local

A spokesman at Dave's office declines to comment on 'a private matter'.The £200,000 building work includes development of a 90ft suite of outbuildings and enlargement of the kitchen, with new oak doors that will 'weather to a silver grey'

Warring Tolstoy defiant as she faces evictionEstranged from her oligarch lover Sergei Pugachev — once known as Putin's Banker — socialite Alexandra Tolstoy faces an anguished Christmas

For she and their three children are within weeks of being evicted from their £8.9 million house in Chelsea, West London

'We have to be out by the end of January and have nowhere to move to,' she tells me

The impending eviction is the consequence of High Court action taken against Pugachev by state creditors in Moscow who accuse him of embezzling more than £655 million

At least Alexandra's spirit remains unbroken. 'I'm working as hard as I can to look after my children,' she says defiantly

It's not exactly rock 'n' roll, but Queen guitarist Brian May admits he goes to his local nail salon for a super-strong acrylic manicure to protect his hard-worn fingernails

'These days I'm dependent on powder gel. My finger nails don't hold up to the guitar playing

In fact these nail coverings have really changed my life on tour,' he rhapsodies

'I recommend them to any guitarist. They're hard as iron. When the coverings finally fall off about two months later your nails are in a hopeless state

So back to the salon you go.'    Bowie's widow Iman rocks glam headscarf It's been nearly three years since she lost her husband, David Bowie, to cancer but clearly Iman hasn't lost her ability to sparkle

The Somalian-born supermodel, 63, posted this picture of herself wearing a £78 red sequin top and headscarf from her eponymous line

Earlier this year Iman spoke about how upsetting modern manners can be.'People take pictures of me in the street, and say: 'I am so sorry for your loss

' I'm like, you just took pictures of me, how can you be sorry?'

Meghan Fashion - Prince Harry pines for Meghan Markle on Valentines Day with picture 'SHRINE' - Duration: 4:18.

Harry looked dashing in his military uniform as he arrived in Bardufoss, far north in the Arctic Circle

The prince sported his trademark stubble and proudly wore his wedding ring for the trip

It is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first Valentine's Day as a married couple

At one point Harry sat in a makeshift igloo, called a Quincey shelter, to give a realistic experience of life in the Arctic Circle

The prince laughed as he was confronted with two images of he and his wife on their wedding day

He said: "You weirdos. It's very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it

"And the music, is that part of it? Romantic isn't it." Harry's trip marks the 50th anniversary of Commando Helicopter Force and Joint Helicopter Command deploying to the base for extreme cold weather training

Military personnel are taught how to survive, operate and fight in the sub-zero conditions, as well as gaining experience of operating aircraft in severe cold weather and mountainous environments

The multinational Exercise Clockwork, hosted by the Norwegian armed forces, comprises environmental flying qualifications, cold weather survival, and snow and ice driving courses

Harry, in his role as Captain General Royal Marines, will meet military personnel living and training at the base

The 36-year-old took over as Captain General Royal Marines from Prince Philip in December 2017, who held the appointment for 64 years

Temperatures at the remote base can reach as low as minus 35C (minus 31F), but Harry has faced freezing climates after trekking to the North Pole in 2011 and South Pole in 2013 with army charity Walking With The Wounded

Lieutenant Colonel David West, officer commanding Exercise Clockwork, said: "We are celebrating 50 years of Exercise Clockwork today and are honoured to be able to welcome the Captain General of the Royal Marines to Bardufoss to mark the occasion

"Harry is used to rigours of harsh climates and so will fully understand the dangers of trying to live and operate in such an extreme environment

"Clockwork continues to deliver vital training for our people. "It provides essential experience in flying and surviving in the extreme cold hundreds of miles inside the Arctic Circle

"For 50 years Commando Helicopter Force and its predecessors have operated in this region and the skills learnt here are more relevant than ever

" Meghan is home alone today while Harry took part in the military training. She has previously spoken of how she is a "sucker" for romance

Writing on her now-closed lifestyle blog in 2015, Meghan said: "Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day

"Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I'm immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss

"This is all happening in black and white, of course."
