Ableton Live: Exploring Simpler Classic Mode | Non-Linear Creative Strategies | Sampling - Duration: 8:56.
Let's take a look at Simpler in classic mode.
So, I'm over here on this final track and this is an instance of Simpler.
I have just dropped a sample right in here and I have this on classic mode.
So, I'm going to open this up so you can see things a little bit clearer, zoom in.
So, I have set the start and stop markers to just a very specific part of this file.
I have the track armed as well.
So, I'll just quickly play some stuff.
[MUSIC]
So, the spiral is currently being warped which means that,
again, pitching time will be divorced.
So, as I play different pitches,
the time will be the same.
If I take this off of warp here.
[MUSIC]
Playing a high note. I'll go even higher.
[MUSIC]
I will play a very low note.
[MUSIC]
You can see how long it's taken a file to play back.
So, having things on warp is very different than having them off of warp.
Then you can again choose very specific warping algorithms
depending on the type of file that you have
and then you still do have these creative parameters
within which to carve the sound out.
So as it is, it's just basically playing back this clavinet sound.
[MUSIC]
Maybe that's the extent of what I want.
I just want this small piece of audio being played back at whatever pitch I create.
But let's take this even further and see what there is to see here.
I can put this on loop.
I'm going to shorten it so that we can quickly go through the sample.
[MUSIC]
You can see it's just going to immediately loop for me here.
[MUSIC]
I could change where this is starting.
[MUSIC].
So, now if I play this in different pitches.
[MUSIC]
It's a very different instrument than what I started with.
I can do more to it.
[MUSIC]
I could have it start in one place and then loop a little bit later
by adjusting start and loop parameters.
[MUSIC]
It's actually pretty interesting.
I'm going to open this up a little bit.
[MUSIC]
I can choose to re-trigger the envelopes.
[MUSIC]
You can hear that they're all in-sync in that respect.
[MUSIC]
When I have this on, they are not sync up
because I'm retriggering the envelope
whenever a new voice is being played.
I can adjust the number of voices, 6.
Obviously, if we go to 32, we're going to be maxing out our CPU
and you can set this to 1
if you wanted it to be a monophonic instrument at that point in time.
So, there's some more options that become available to us which is this fade parameter.
We can create a smooth transition in and out of where the sample is repeating itself.
But that is only available to us when warp is off.
So, limitations and options depending on how you want to have the sample be played back.
So, here, this is the backside of Simpler.
I could get to it by hitting that Controls option,
but I can also just open this up so I can see
the sample properties and the control panel simultaneously.
So, Simpler is very powerful
and also kind of a gateway into sound design
if you haven't gone down that rabbit hole quite yet.
Inside of the device, we have a filter, an LFO, and two envelopes which are assigned.
They're really easy to use to get creative with right off the bat.
So, here is a filter.
I'm just going to play a note.
[MUSIC]
Turn this all the way down to begin with.
[MUSIC]
So, I could set a filter really easily.
I've got different bands I could choose.
[MUSIC]
High-pass, low-pass, notch, bandpass, so on and so forth.
I can swap these out for different emulations of hardware filters
or just go with the digital clean one here.
You can see that when I choose one of
the hardware emulations else of this drive knob or I can distort things here.
Add some more gain as well.
Moving over to the LFO here,
I have some attack settings and offset settings
depending on how you want this LFO to react.
If you haven't gotten deeply into synthesis or the basic mechanics behind synthesis,
an LFO is a control signal which is going to
allow me to use characteristics of that signal such as frequency
or it's like a pendulum swinging if you will
and assign those to other parameters on this device.
So, for instance, I'm going to choose filter.
I'll pull this all the way up.
Right now, I have it set to an eighth note.
I could set it to a specific frequency itself.
[MUSIC]
You can hear that filter opening and closing now.
So, you can't visually see this,
but it's doing something like this.
[MUSIC].
Or I could set it to a BPM.
[MUSIC]
So, if I play this very low,
[MUSIC]
I'm getting something which is very much like a warble base.
So, I can do this with pitch.
[MUSIC]
I can do this with the volume.
[MUSIC].
Turn this down so it's a little bit easier to hear.
[MUSIC]
Tremolo effect. I can do this with pan.
[MUSIC]
So, full destinations for this LFO, right off the bat.
I can have it come in a bit slower if I want to by changing this attack setting here,
I could change the shape of the wave
most warble bases
[MUSIC]
or soft.
[MUSIC]
Over here on the envelope settings,
I have an amp envelope and the pitch envelope.
So, again, if you're not so familiar with the basics of synthesis,
an envelope is going to shape the evolution of the sound
from the moment the sound starts to the moment of sound ends.
So, I have the option.
We'll just use amplitude here.
I'll have this coming quite slowly.
[MUSIC]
Before it hits full volume.
[MUSIC]
We also have decay sustain release happening as well.
So, we're going to shape the way and
timing of how the sound goes from silenced to full volume.
So, let's say at around two seconds.
[MUSIC]
You can hear it happening.
[MUSIC]
I can set the release when I have this take a very long time to release here.
[MUSIC]
So, there's a lot of design opportunities and potential
just inside of Simpler taking a single sample
and turning it into it's own instrument.
This was originally a clavinet sound and now we have
created something which is way more spacey, more abstract, and customized.

🇲🇽ENCHILADAS POTOSINAS in SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MEXICO | SUNDAY CLASSIC CAR SHOW | MEXICO TRAVEL GUIDE - Duration: 13:04.
that is the face of AMAZEBALLS! and you know what I am quite old I'm almost 40
believe it or not. I did just almost walk through the other door into the toilets, OOPS!
hola buenas tardes and welcome back to San Luis Potosi today is Domingo and
there's 60s and 70s music in the background what could be going on? I'm at
a classic car show! Right so as you can see once again it's a lovely sunny day
the weather in San Luis Potosi is literally spot-on, beautiful, there isn't a
cloud in the sky it's amazing and you know what let's start off by just saying
I love cars all right if there's one thing you should know about me is that I
love cars and you might have seen in other videos I never ride a bike or a
motorbike that's because I can't I'm hopeless with balance but I am the best
car driver on the planet and it's something I really miss and you know what I am quite
old I'm almost 40 believe it or not well in four years
three years now so I remember some of these cars you know there's old Renault's
and Fords and VW beetles, oh my god I love the VW beetles there's so many you know
it reminds me of when I was in TAXCO with the taxis that are the VW beetles it's beautiful
there's Mustangs there's Fords you name it let's take a look around and
avoid the copyright music in the background
(50's MUSIC)
this is an Opel Rekord it looks bizarrely similar to the Ford Cortina my
dad used to have in the 80s yes I am that old get over it but it was brown
opel/vauxhall in Europe I used to have a Vauxhall Corsa and a Vauxhall Vectra - car
geek sorry! look at this man Plymouth it's so shiny and silver
almost I don't want to touch it, beautiful, I'd love to drive one of these cars look
at the interior oh my God look at the interior
this is cool I love cars they're so good this car show is in plaza de los fundadores
Doris is quite central as well as all the cars there's also little
stalls everywhere where you can buy toy cars which literally makes my
head explode because I had so many little toy cars when I was a kid I don't
know where those cars are maybe my mum can let me know in the comments! oh my
god I thought that was a real baby is it real baby now it's a doll thank Christ!
this is so much fun there's the Ghostbusters car the DeLorean Back to
the Future Batmobile oh my god this is like a car lovers
orgasm and the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo
and little figures as well how cool Velma! look it's the original box for the
car from ghostbusters I'm having a total geek out right now look it's slimer
oh my god I used to have a marshmallow man toy when I was a child I used to
play with him in the bath
okay enough cars for one day, that's German!
Not Spanish! I did on purpose I need an apple juice, my favourite!Q
and then we're gonna get on to what this video was actually
meant to be about which is food, yes!
I've headed north on the hunt for comida mexicana now there is a popular dish
signature dish in san luis potosí and it is enchiladas potosinas, so excited
I'm really hungry, I wanted to go to like a more
authentic little place but I can't be bothered to walk that far so I found somewhere that looks a bit
mainstream restaurant Pueblito Mexicana, they do enchiladas potosinas
for 79 pesos it's gonna be awesome
let's eat this place is really nice is quite busy as you see typical Mexican
food, ensaladas, entrada, sopas, I'm not gonna do that I think we're gonna go
straight to the enchiladas potosinas that one, enchiladas huastecas, it
is a different variety I believe Cecina is dried meat we're not gonna
have that, enchiladas potosinas is the one, it does say 89 pesos
look at that beautiful, all right what world am i living
in when I have decent lighting in a food place?
Look at this, it's beautiful, you get like a massive plate thing, guacamole, frijoles
This looks beautiful, it looks a bit too much, and you might think they look a bit like empanadas
but apparently the difference is, it's a different type of flour that is used
also the flour is basically like infused with chilli, and apparently this came from when it was first created in the early 1900s
it was an accident, so this guy was making something with flour
and there were particles of chilli in the thing he was making them in, so it became this, enchiladas potosinas
let's see what they're like, they've got cheese on top, these look amazing
that is the face of AMAZEBALLS. It's got cheese inside so I'm assuming you
can get different varieties. This is heaven...ooh frijoles!
I don't really like guacamole. now whoever suggested this to me which
is literally everyone thank you very much because this is beautiful, salsa, wonderful
that's really nice let's put on top of the enchiladas, OMG
to the max this is heaven which is what I always
say when I do a few videos, I need to think of other words. I might need someone to carry me out of here
You can really taste the chilli in the enchilada, beautiful
Frijoles, queso,
this is probably enough for two people, but when has that ever stopped me?
wowsers that was beautiful I did say at the beginning before I went in there that it
did feel slightly mainstream that might just be my opinion I could be wrong but
I'm sure there's plenty of other places in San Luis Potosi where you can have proper
authentic Enchiladas Potosinas if you know of any why don't you let me
know in the comments down below that will help other viewer, thank you
very much wonderful and another thing you can
never know about in the comments is I'm thinking of doing a video like a
compilation video of maybe 10 best authentic Mexican foods you can eat in
Mexico let me know and the reason for that is the reason thinking might be
good idea is because when before I came to Mexico and there I was a stupid naive
dumbass foreigner I didn't know there was a difference between tex-mex and
Mexican food really that's the truth I thought
burritos were Mexican how thick am i and you know what the chances are if you're
watching this and you haven't been to Mexico before perhaps you might think
the same, you probably don't, I'm probably stupid but you know it might
be a good idea to do that so yeah watch out that soon possibly and
without waffling on too much about food I could do that forever by the way
especially in Mexico you know there's so much variety in Mexico in terms of food
and just come into another area like this where you have another signature
dish in another area of Mexico you know it's not just about tacos obviously they
are amazing but you know go to someone like Puebla, Mole poblano, Yucatan
Panuchos and Salbutes, I' feel like such a food connoisseur in Mexico now it's amazing
that's probably one of the best things I've got out of
Mexico is the experience with food so that is the ultimate thing you must do
when you come to Mexico forget burritos in you know Taco Bell that is the
ultimate sin do not go to Taco Bell proper Mexican food
right we've been to a car show we've eaten enchiladas potosinas it's time to
go to a market we haven't that for a while this market is quite close to the
place that I ate food it's Miguel Hidalgo Mercado, Mercado Miguel Hidalgo
good that's right it's gonna have look inside I did just
don't - walk through the other door into the toilets oops
I'm hot now it is Sunday about five o'clock so everyone's closing up but there are
some places open there's like meat places fish places flowers guy on the
bike back there and toupee spring get some food so there are places he can get
enchiladas Potosinas this could be an alternative for you if you're looking
for that kind of food for example believe also that place behind me not
the shutters that they're 50 pesos for the thing of enchiladas that is like
maybe ten of them in there I probably should have counted and that's really cheap you
know considering I paid eighty nine of eight that's awesome only no one
message of this video along with the food message is the fact that I'm really
into markets now in Mexico since I went to the one in Napoles the tianguis
you know what I mean the moving market and yeah you can just get things
cheaper more affordable and also better quality in my experience mana be the
same everywhere but you know on the whole markets are the place to go
especially for living in Mexico for a long period like me and you know maybe
you are one with a budget a month-to-month beautiful you've got
clothes down there back to the usual malarkey that you get in and these
markets but it's not like Tepito that's for sure
right time to go home I must admit I've been naughty I've been to Ciudado con el Perro l the best clothing shop in Mexico for cheap-ass clothes I
bought three t-shirts because this TV shot I bought in 2017
Dallas Walmart storm-chasing I know where I bought every single t-shirt I've
got there's time to get some new stuff and say goodbye to the crappy old stuff
so there's one more video coming from San Luis Potosi where I leased the city
don't panic there will be more and I'm gonna go in with the tourist bus I think
I've never done that before stay tuned for that one if you want to
see that don't forget to subscribe as always I'm sick of saying that I just
come up with something new but then I'll be off to Real de Catorce,
Ciudad Valles the waterfall pace everywhere you've told me in the
comments so when stay tuned I'll catch you later

ASMR Unboxing the Sony Playstation Classic — ASMR Unboxing - Duration: 13:40.
- What's up guys, it's your boy Ray Wong,
and I've got the brand new Sony Playstation Classic
in front of me.
Yes, it is the real deal.
This is the hundred dollar micro console
so it's Sony's version of the Nintendo Classic,
the NES Classic, the Super Nintendo Classic
and it comes with 20 classic games preloaded.
Two PS1 controllers, unfortunately no dual shock analogs,
and it looks like some kind of USB cable
and an HDMI cable which is great.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, what is this?
USB adapter not included.
What are we, cavemen?
I guess you could use your phone adapter, but still.
Alright, packaging is on point.
Definitely looks like
the original PlayStation one packaging.
So the games we have, there are 20 classic games,
not all of them are going to be classic to you
but let's see what we have.
We have Battle Arena Toshinden.
I don't think I've ever played that game.
Cool Boarders Two, that game was terrible in my opinion.
Destruction Derby.
Final Fantasy Seven, yes.
That game was on three discs, yes.
That's all I need, that's the only game this console needs.
Grand Theft Auto, the first one.
Intelligent Qube, Jumping Flash, Metal Gear Solid,
baby hell yeah.
Mister Driller, hell yeah.
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, eh.
Rayman, yes, yes, that is like the classic.
Resident Evil: Director's Cut,
that game, I don't think that game's gonna hold up well.
Revelations: Persona, alright.
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4.
Oh man, the physics in that game was terrible.
Super Puzzle Fighter Two Turbo, not bad.
Siphon Filter, Tekken Three, yes.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six,
I don't think that was a classic, guys.
Twisted Metal, okay.
Wild Arms, man, looking at these games,
I'm kind of disappointed.
Where's Crash Bandicoot?
Where's Spyro?
There's so many other classic PS1 games
that should've been included here.
I'm a little worried.
Like I said, Final Fantasy Seven alone,
that game was deep.
Cloud and Sephiroth and Chocobos,
let's just open this boy.
Cutting knife.
Ah.
Oh, that's different, check that out.
Doo, doo, doo, doo.
Clean packaging.
It just has the PlayStation One logo or PlayStation logo.
A box inside of a box inside of a box.
This is the third box.
There it is.
The PS1 Classic.
But first, instruction manual.
English, French.
No Spanish, that's weird.
Oh no, this is Spanish.
English, Spanish.
Okay, let's open this guy.
It's so small, it's like a baby, mini PS1.
Ta-da, ahh, it's so cute.
It is a perfect replica of the original PS1.
Not the redesigned PS1 O-N-E,
but PS1 with the number one.
Plastic.
(tapping)
It's pretty hollow inside.
This thing has an emulator,
it's not actually taking CD's.
So we've got a power button, a reset button
and an open button.
So an open button doesn't open the console, boo.
Wait, boo, that would've been cool for it to pop up
even though it wouldn't accept CD's.
(clicking)
That is clicky and tactile and springy.
Very nice.
And on back we have a micro USB port for power,
and HDMI port for video out,
and what is this?
What is this little guy over here?
Ah.
Does this even open?
I'm not sure to be honest,
I should probably read the instructions.
I'm not sure.
I'll check on that later.
But over here you've got your USB, memory card slots,
or USB controller slots.
And little felted feet.
Let me check the instructions.
You know what, that slot does absolutely nothing.
Let's see what else is in the box.
Controllers.
Classic PS1 controller
with your triangle, circle, X, square buttons.
(clicking)
Okay, I'm gonna open both of the controllers.
And we have the micro USB cable.
This is for power.
Did you guys just hear that?
That was my elbow cracking.
Ah.
Alright, a decent length.
This looks about six feet.
Five feet, six feet.
And last thing is the HDMI cable.
Let's just hurry up and get this out.
And this looks like a generic HDMI cable,
not Sony branded or anything like that.
And this is also, okay,
this is longer than my arm span
so I think that's like a 10 foot long cable, I believe.
Looks pretty heavy duty.
Okay, controller time.
This looks pretty long.
This says the controller length is one point five meters
or about, yeah, 59.1 inches, so about three feet.
And the HDMI cable is about 2 meters or 78.7 inches.
I think I said that wrong, it's 59 inches, not feet.
Okay, button testing time.
(clicking)
This controller is pretty light
without the dual shock analogs,
but pretty faithful replica of the original.
Let's open the other one.
Or rather, untangle the cable.
And let's plug these controllers in.
I like that little touch.
Ooh, that's not coming out.
If you yank on it, that's not coming out.
Oh, that is a solid connection.
And that's really it.
The controller is about the same size
as the console itself.
Look at that.
It's just an emulator.
It plays too many games.
I don't know how well the games hold up.
I'm gonna plug this into a TV later
and check it out and see whether the games are still good
almost what, 25 years later.
I think it's 24 years now.
So that's gonna be a good test.
I'm gonna try to plug it into an HD TV
and see if I can get a converter
to plug it into a CRT to get that really OG look.
So anyway guys, this has been an unboxing
for the brand new Sony PlayStation Classic.
This is 99.99 and it goes on sale December third.
Check out our full review on Mashable dot com.
See you guys.

The Revival of Keep It Classic [CC] - Duration: 3:41.
Hello, lovely humans.
It's Molly from Molly Reads and Writes, and uhm,
today this is just a really quick
little announcement?
Update video?
Uh, for the book club that I am part of.
*chill music*
*Looking down at ground,*
*our shadows make no sound,*
*a game of hide and seek…*
If you do not know, I am one of the hosts of the Keep it Classic book club.
Uh, the other hosts are Jasmine from Novel Thoughts,
we have Julia from Shakespeare and Such,
and Vanessa from Paper Faerie.
So, the four of us read one classic book every two months, so there is lots of time for snail
readers
like I am,
to uh, digest a classic and chat about it.
So, half way through the month we do a video watch along, and then at the end of lu-munth
The what?
At the end of the month we do a liveshow to discuss the book.
So, you should join us.
We run polls on Twitter, we run updates there also, as well as Instagram.
Our Twitter and Instagram is the keep classic club, so you can follow us over there, see
some updates.
Mainly, uh, Jasmine and Vanessa handle the Twitter and Julia and I handle the Instagram,
so it's quite fun.
We've taken a break, we're diving back into it, and we're going to succeed this
time.
Uh, we ran a poll for what our book of the month was going to be, and Persuasion by Jane
Austen is the February March pick.
So, you should go find a beautiful copy uh, at a bookstore… used bookstore… thrift
store… library near you… and join us.
So, yeah.
We'll be looking forward to chatting with you throughout the month, at the liveshow
hearing your thoughts on this, and uhm, yeah, it's perfect for snail readers.
So, if you read classics as slow as I do, two months is golden.
How many chapters is this?
Let's see.
Oh, shit.
It's roman numeral chapters.
Ha ha okay.
Uh, so X is ten so twenty… four.
Twenty-four chapters divided by eight.
Math is something I fail at, but that's like… two?
Chapters?
Twelves chapters a month, three chapters a week.
Sure.
Read it with us.
I'm gonna go.
Uhm, as you can tell it's been a while, anxiety sucks.
I really hope that you decide to join us in this and hang out and read and chat, it will
be so much fun.
Tell me what you've been up to in them months that I have not updated anything.
You should let me know in the comments down below.
Also let me know if there's any videos you want to see me do, coming up, because I am
here, I'm back.
I'm gonna try to film some videos today after I charge my camera battery.
Uhm, yeah.
You guys are wonderful.
Thank you for sticking with me and being super cool like that.
So, I hope that you have an awesome morning,
afternoon, or evening, whichever it is, wherever you are.
See ya!
*chill music*
*I've been running for so long,*
*I'm clear about the path I was on,*
*I was breathless,*
*my heart restless,*
*every turn felt like it was wrong,*
*but I kept going to show I was strong…*
