Moe is going to teach you how to build a play rail. Ola YouTube my name is ricardo
Lino over aka Bob the Builder today I'm with Bob the Builder number
two we can do it again Bob Bob Fisher oh the Builder anyway I don't really
know the name but I do know that Moe is going to teach you how to build a
playroom no I like to call it a step on because
you can step on it now you shall be stepping now you should jump on to it
you should be stepping into the rail you should just go for it go for it then
with speed always the downhill skater and two days ago most kidded in our
playroom that one there for the first time and at first it could only do back
sides by the end of the day how many grounds could you do I think it was like
12 or 13 often our you learn not to soul mizu
acid pornstar Macchio backside switch backside and then you learn all the top
side ones and then even learn how to stall in the kind runs so you learned
you can also learn and that's why today we're gonna teach you how to build one
of these play rails so that you can learn faster yeah so mo what do we need
to do this playroom okay so what is a little baton I think this is a 2 by 4 1
2 1 healthy and she's here in America and also need a nice piece of PVC so 2
inch PVC around 5 centimeters around 5 centimeters and this one is about I
would say 35 which is about 1/2 inch per inch
ok so there you got it that's what we need and then also you're going to need
some flat pieces of wood to basically make a base for our 2x4 to get on and
get fixed on today and then of course our PVC pipe you get it too complicated
more I made one of these to be the base and then these want to be the structure
on top of the base which is this one and then the other two will be the walls of
the rail and the basement is the main structure basically the one that is
going to be the structure the skeleton is going on top of the base here and
then you want to show the other two what we're going to do with the other two and
then what do we create on top we create a little bad for what do you have to say
about that little later that's all really basic but now we need to fix it
are we gonna fix this the first thing that we're gonna do is check these you
put you put the skeleton down and the base on top
you gonna Center it just like that and you're gonna squish from the top Moe's
gonna do it right now and you can see it
so Moe just said yet is with working skills are not the best like see with
the PVC I just had to say so basically now we're gonna open a hole on the top
of the PVC yeah just three this is a two point four meter rail which is about I'm
sorry I don't know in feet anyway two point four meter rail we all needed
three holes
I think Moe is more of a PVC guy
okay now basically in the top layer about PVC which is created L with a nice
big drill bit so we can force our screw straight through there and into the
bottom part of the PVC so we can screw it down onto a structure which is both
so as you guys can see over here that the screw it doesn't really fit through
but that is done intentionally so we can actually just what we're gonna do it is
more so this little player L was actually made for the USD kids if you
guys remember Michael and Elijah they like known as the super grams in
aggressive skating down in Cape Town and just once for them yeah basically
they're grinding game which is perfectly normal because they're super young it's
still super basic they've been doing like front sides and back sides on ran
with these you're gonna learn how to get more tech so we're gonna give them this
rail you're gonna see us giving these rails to them and then probably in the
next videos you're gonna be you're gonna check some more tech tricks from Elijah
and Michael stay tuned let's wait for them to come now
go get it it's one two of you okay
dramas window to another side window next time I see you I want to see what
you do Grimes and that's how you make two kids happy I hope you learned
something today I hope you now know how to make a play rail and I want to see
her play rails let me know if you learn it if there was if do you have any
doubts about it and something I can help you with and other than that if you like
this you to give me some thumbs up if you didn't like it thumbs down but let
me know what you didn't like about this video what did me are morally wrong in
this video and like I always say the most important thing is to not forget
what we all started skating because it's fun
cheers guys see you soon

We Can Build a #FossilFree World - Duration: 11:59.
Here's how we avert a worsening climate crisis
and build a renewable and fair society together and fast.
It's not about changing light bulbs
or expecting your elected officials to lead.
It's about you taking action right now
where you have the most power:
your very own community.
We, the people,
have to take down the fossil fuel industry
if we want to replace it with renewable energy for all.
The fossil fuel industry has spent decades
creating and denying a climate crisis
that is already affecting millions of us around the world.
So how do we take down
the most powerful industry in the history of the world?
It's quite simple, actually,
by building enough local people power.
Fossil fuel companies
only have the power that we are willing to give them.
They are supported by
our public institutions giving them social acceptability
through sponsorships and partnerships;
our very own investments, allowing them to expand
into new fossil fuel projects that are
completely unnecessary;
our politicians,
allowing them to operate and pollute
within our very own communities.
But look what happens
if enough people are pushing against
those very pillars of support.
What if communities all over the world
stand up for themselves and say:
no more fossil fuel projects.
Not here, not anywhere.
If we pass local bans
and organize ourselves to resist fossil fuel projects
in our very communities.
Not a penny more for dirty energy:
if our universities, museums,
pension funds divest from fossil fuels
and refuse their tainted sponsorships.
Now imagine how much more quickly
those pillars of support will fall
if we are accelerating a just and fair transition
to 100% renewable energy for all.
If we're actively promoting the kind of
community-controlled and just alternatives
we want to see.
It was only when we learned about the plans
to construct a coal power plant,
that we were made aware of solar power.
Why can't they just use the large sum of money
allocated for dirty energy, for renewables instead?
The campaign started as an uphill battle because of
the prevailing culture of passivity and indifference.
The church was even portrayed to be 'anti-development'.
There was a lot of disinformation about
how the coal plant would
usher in projects that would bring
development for Atimonan.
We were made to look like villains.
In the succeeding months,
more people in the community became aware
and started to understand what we were fighting for.
They became so eager to act,
that they're now the ones asking about
organizing our next rally.
When it became apparent that
they were putting up a coal-fired power plant,
we organized a number of actions with the parish.
It's really motivating when you know that
you get to empower more young people,
because it sends a clear message
that it's time to make a change.
We wanted to take concrete actions
so we installed solar panels on our roof.
It's really important that we walk the talk.
When preaching his homilies,
Father Puno explains the adverse impacts versus
the perceived benefits of the project,
and how it will affect the community.
Why is it a sin to destroy the environment?
Because it was only entrusted to us.
It is not ours. It is for these children.
Our silence and inaction is complicity with injustice.
Even if we do not have
the support of government agencies,
we can act to stop the project from getting funds.
But we cannot do this alone.
It requires collaboration from everyone,
including different sects and denominations.
I didn't realize that
we still have this much space on our roof.
Maybe if we put up more panels,
we might be able to power the needs of the entire town.
The community of the city of Peruíbe,
on the Southeast coast of Brazil,
has spent months mobilized against
the installation of a 1.7 gigawatt,
gas-fired power-plant,
which would generate
a lot of environmental and social damage.
The fight resulted in the approval
of an amendment to the law of the municipality,
which prevents the installation of polluting
and acid rain-causing industries.
We, from the association, we always said:
folks, this isn't going to be great.
It's not a good thing.
They say it will bring jobs but it isn't true.
We won't have all these opportunities
they are presenting to us.
So let's participate, let's join the fight,
because this isn't going to be positive,
especially in our region.
The place where the power plant was going to be built
is very close to our neighborhood,
so for us it wasn't going to be very nice.
[It would cause us] respiratory problems,
acid rain, without mentioning water -
we would have big problems with water.
So, for these reasons, we embraced the cause.
I was actually the first city councillor
to get involved in this action.
The moment this topic started
being discussed in the city council,
I expressed my position at the podium,
being completely against it,
precisely because of the features
that brought me to this city:
the quality of the air,
and whole natural environment where I live, in Guaraú.
And we had a very difficult voting session,
heated from the start.
I believe that the engagement
not only by the population, but also by groups
of people who gave testimony,
was very important for our success.
We [need to remember that]
we are here in the middle of
marine and land conservation areas.
We're in a region
where there's a big deficit in public services,
both in sanitation and healthcare.
We wrote a report, as a result,
against these power-plant plans.
We managed to leverage the benefit
that social networks brings to society;
that is to unite who are far away [from each other].
We united different people, from different places,
with different ways of thinking, different religions.
We managed to mobilize a big movement;
we ended up having a beautiful celebration.
It will be remembered, and unforgettable
and it will be an example to other cities,
that fight against this kind of project.
It was a beautiful victory.
Last night
the city of New York filed
a law-suit in federal court against five
investor-owned, fossil fuel companies
most responsible for global warming.
They are: Exxon Mobil, BP, Conoco Phillips, Shell and Chevron.
It's time for them to start paying
for the damage they've done.
The divest New York campaign began years ago
I remember personally leafleting in
the streets of midtown Manhattan
in the Summer of 2015.
I think that first divestment movement was
very much climate organizations
and climate groups coming together.
We started ramping up a ton of events:
We had a huge huge huge,
like over 5,000 people came out to march
for the 5th anniversary of Sandy,
and I think that was emotionally powerful.
I was home in Bed-Stuy. I heard a cracking noise.
I took my daughter out of her bed
and the ceiling caved in:
I almost lost my daughter.
Organizers like NYCC help us see that
this is actually systemic,
and that my liberation really is bound up with yours.
And then you start building power with your neighbors,
with your communities.
And so today we announce,
that the city of New York
will divest from fossil fuel reserve owner-companies.
We, 8.5 million strong,
will no longer participate in a system that
endangers our very own people.
Winning divestment certainly was a testament that
the only sort of transformative change
comes from grassroots, comes from the bottom
comes from the people,
and this movement was the people saying
this is what we want, this is what we need
and you have to do it because
we will vote you out if you don't.
You know the story about David and Goliath?
To win [against] somebody that huge, it's emotional.
What you have been fighting for wasn't a losing battle.
I want for her to know that
we were fighting for her future.
The lawmakers, they do have children too,
so we're not only fighting for ourselves
but we are fighting for their children as well.
This is really just the beginning, I think.
We are waging a war on fossil fuel
and we're coming for them,
and they know that,
and I think they're a little scared.
We know from history
social change only happens from the bottom up
when enough people take a stand together
Street by street, city by city, town by town:
it's up to you and me to get involved.
That's how the Fossil Free campaign is
going to end the age of fossil fuels
and build a world that is powered by
community-led renewable energy for all.
But it starts with you, your neighbor,
your town, your community:
Our shared fossil free future.

Build an Email List For Your Dropshipping Store For $0! - Duration: 13:28.
So in a previous video I talked a lot about the importance of building an email list
But if you're just starting out, and you don't really know the resources. What's the best way to really build an email funnel
Google how do I build an email funnel you're the one with the business degree? Why are you asking me?
I don't know just I went to business school doesn't mean I know everything. I'm just asking your opinion well
You should have went to school for botany that plant behind you looks dry AF fam
You know what? I don't know why I ask you for things anymore
I'm just gonna try and do it video by myself forget it what's going on guys?
I'm back with another video right away if you can believe it. I had a video yesterday
I have a video today, so that's two in a row, and I'm actually probably going to release a video tomorrow
So I think that's called a video streak we won a game yesterday
We win one today. That's two in a row
We win one tomorrow
That's called a winning streak it has happened before
So let's see some hustle. Let's Jack it up a little I got a feeling things
We're about to turn around for us alright, so I don't want to make a promise
I can't keep and I probably won't be able to upload as consistently as the Indians were winning in Major League
Mostl real pumped for baseball got on the mind Yankees starting the season in a few days to chase for 28
But that's neither here or there. That's enough goofs. It's enough means let's just jump straight into this video and in this video
I'm gonna teach you guys how to create a free?
Kick-ass email squeeze page that will make sure you guys can generate emails and leads for your drop shipping business
So let's jump straight into it alright, so we're inside my computer. There's a lot of different things
You can use to build a lead page to collect emails
I personally like using MailChimp
Because it's super easy to use it's user friendly and you can click the first two thousand emails
Totally for free and that is huge for someone who's just starting out if you're on a small budget
So what you're gonna?
Do is you're gonna type in the?
MailChimp landing page in Google, and you're gonna. Go to the first link and you're gonna have to create an account from here
It's super easy all you need to do is to either try it out or sign up for free
You just need to make a username provide your email and a password and you'll be able to get right into your lead page
So do that. I'm gonna do that on my end and we'll link up on the other side
Alright, I'm in there like swimwear. We back now
You can see once you create this account you probably have to put some information in like your address your email
You know all this other nonsense
But then it's gonna take you to this and it's gonna show you what you want your landing page name to be
Doesn't really matter, so I'm just gonna go one move, and you'll probably want two men named it something relevant
So like email capture or something like that. We're gonna hit begin and it's gonna load up a template. That's gonna
Let us totally customize our landing page. It's drag-and-drop
It's literally minimal effort, but we're actually just gonna use this template they provide here
So if you want to put a logo you can put a logo normally what I do
so we're gonna go with the Kat, niche because why not I like to drag and drop an
Image right into here, so we're just gonna actually get rid of our logo again
You don't have to if you don't want to I just don't have an a logo to upload so I'm not going to
So we're gonna hit browse and what you can actually do is you can go to gif II which pretty much just allows you to
Find custom things like if you want to have Lavar ball jam and you can do that, but we're going with the cat niche
so let's hit cat and
We're gonna search and we're gonna wait
1 hour later and
Wait two hours later
And
wait
Three hours later
All right, so this loading screen is progressing about as fast as my love life, so we're not gonna wait all day
And we're just gonna get right into this and just pick a random image, so let's just say this one
I like these cute cats with the watermelon heads here, so you're gonna click that you're gonna hit insert
And what its gonna do is it's gonna drop that gif right into here as soon as it actually wants to load
So apparently running the video editing software
The video capture software and MailChimp does not work too nice with my laptop while at the same time
But let's just try and cry in through the rest of this video
So our gift finally decided to load and then we're gonna put a headline right here, so this is pretty much
Just gonna be your hook what's gonna draw them into actually subscribe
so this is gonna be based on what your actual lead magnet is so you're gonna see when you hit the
Pencil button right here. It loads up text on the side and since we're talking about cats
Let's say your lead magnet was about a cat grooming product, or you have a cat grooming brand so we're gonna
Do here is we're going to type something like
The complete cat grooming guide
So you
Can see we have our headline right here? We have our funny gif up here and
Then we're gonna use this space you can see right here to let people know what they're signing up for so we're gonna click this
Pencil again, it's gonna load this up here
And then you're just gonna kind of give some validation to why people are signing up, so we're gonna say
This complete cat grooming guide is
Let's say you know what actually this?
Complicity you want to emphasize it's free
complete cat grooming guide is
perfect for the cat
novice or experts so we're saying who it's for right, so this is really just saying it's for all people and
learn
the best ways to
make sure
your fur baby's
coat
is
Shiny and
Healthy and of course you're going to want to spell babies right that's what that would probably be nice
So pretty much again. You're just kind of trying to say what they're getting and then right here
This is the actual the information they're gonna put in so you don't have to do too much here
Honestly all I recommend doing is just putting an email on a first name
the reason I do the first name is because when you go to create an email for them in the future there's an option where
You can automate first name so if you ever wondered when you've got an email
And it says hey Jack, and you're like how the hell did they know my name pretty much
What they do is they collect this information here, and then they use a script of code that will show okay? You know use
Hey, and then
First name here, and it will automate what that is so that's what I do that
And that's really the only thing you need to do and then you can have to sign me up button you can do that again
There's their styles if you want to change the color of it
It doesn't really matter too much if you want to change what it says
now we're gonna get into the
Confirmation because this is how I set it up so that it's super easy and you don't need to worry about having an actual website
If you want to actually collect some email, so you don't have anything to host if it's a blog and it called me
I don't know how to host a blog so what I do is
For the confirmation this is where I'll actually say
see your
Content
And what I'll do is. I'll highlight it. I'll hit this right here. Which is a link and then what you're gonna
Do you'll have a website URL?
So what I recommend doing is just create a document on a Google Drive or upload a PDF to Google Drive
And then make sure it's shareable for whoever has the link and you're gonna share that link in here
So I'm gonna show you what that looks like on the Google Drive and in a second, so let's just pretend
This is URLs Google Drive link so we're gonna use that as a placeholder right now
So let's hop over to Google Drive, and I'm gonna show you what this process looks like all right?
So we have a nice split screen going right now on our right side we have our content
Which we're gonna turn into a PDF
Which I'll teach you how to do a Microsoft Word and then on our left we have Google Drive
So if you don't know what Google Drive is it's pretty much just a cloud where you can store all your files
Without having it be on an actual server that you need
Present or on you know saving on a computer it just exists in the cloud, so it will be with you no matter
What computer you're on so it's super helpful
But why I use it is because you can use it for free which is very nice
So people can just go to it
You don't need to have a blog you don't have anything hosting so you can do this with zero money
So on the right what we'll do here is we're gonna create some content obviously
I just made this very quickly you're gonna actually want to make sure you're creating content
That's super valuable and not something that's like this where it's just a meme
And it's not actually providing value because then people aren't going to love your brand so create something that actually is very helpful
You know make it a couple of pages make it look pretty
Maybe find a template you can use so once you have a word document
You've created your content what you're going to do is you're going to go to file save as a Microsoft Word
And we're gonna make this full screen so I can make sure you guys can see it real nice and we're gonna hit browse
This how I do it anyway you might do it differently and we're gonna save it as a PDF so
Let's save that
Alright, so we've saved that now we're gonna upload it to the drive
Okay, so we've saved our PDF to our desktop and what we're gonna
Do is we're gonna drag and drop that puppy in there?
And it's literally as simple as dragging and dropping so you can see it's uploads. It doesn't take too long so here
It is so what you're gonna
Do is you're just gonna click on don't click on there anything else make sure you're only
Clicking on this on your actual file that you want to upload
You're gonna click this plus button right here with a little person
And it's gonna give you an option to share it so then you're gonna click right here. Where it says get shareable link and
You can see right here anyone what this link can view you can see this options can edit can comment
You don't want to do that you want to leave it on view you can hit copy link then hit ctrl C on your
Keyboard so that you have it copied and then we're gonna go back over to here where we had our Google Drive link and then
We're gonna copy ctrl V that into there
We're gonna
insert that
so it says click here to see your content when they click that it's going to take them to that Drive on that folder and
Where that content is being hosted so we're gonna hit save and close then we're gonna hit save and continue
And it's gonna actually save this little campaign and landing page that we've created so
Once we do this we see we have our content, and we have this done so here
You can add a page title and URL so right now. We have an untitled page. We're just gonna call that our cat
list
That's fine, so this is the URL right here. You don't have to worry about that too much
and we're gonna hit publish and
Once you hit publish it's gonna make this landing page live and again. This is all costed me so far zero dollars to do
so now you can see our landing page is live so now that we have it live we're gonna want to actually make sure if
We test it out and make sure everything's working correctly so again. This is the link you can share it on social media
We'll talk about how to actually promote it in another video
But let's just click it. Let's just make sure everything's working as correctly as we want it so we can see what it looks like
So we see the complete cat grooming guide this free complete cat grooming guide is perfect for the cat novice or expert
Learn the best ways to make sure your fur baby's coat is shiny and healthy so again
This is simple, but it gets the job done, so we're gonna put an email address in
We're not gonna put our real email in
And then our first name
So one thing I did do is I went back in the edited it
I wanted to make sure that the text button actually made more sense to the offer
So they knew what they were getting it to really reinforce it so I said claim your free grooming guide
And then you should probably put a couple of exclamation points here as want if you want totally optional
But you'll click that you'll see what it works so once they click it you see this the confirmation page
We made so we see click here to see your content, so you have their email now
It's saved in the list you'll click this
You'll see it takes them to the drive it takes them to a PDF and
They will have this content now that you uploaded they can actually download this if they want for their own records
Which you maybe want to put that as well if you want?
So yeah, you can see this has all been set up very nicely and it's working perfectly which is awesome
So what you'll do now that someone's put their email in will go to lists and what list is is
It's just all the lists of people who've submitted their email so HLC is just a random company name. I made, but that's my list
So you'll see once you hit it here. We have two subscribers so this right here is the
The email we have made and then this is just an old business
I used this is the account I used the email on so yeah
That's pretty much the whole video and hopefully this would provided a bunch of value for you
And you'll be able now to create your whole landing page from scratch
And you'll be able to do it all for free just wanted to thank you guys again for watching this video
I really hope you've learned a lot and it provides the value they've been looking for out of me and this channel
So I guess this is the part of the video towards the end
I just spam all these things you should be liking so you can stay up to date with the key lytic brand and myself personally
So if you want to see where we drop these videos and you want to stay up to date with all these things we have
Going on you can either like the key lytic page on Facebook or like the e-commerce products group on Facebook

You can go to those two places or hit me up on Instagram at Marchesi Jack
And I will try and answer any questions you have there so thank you so much for watching
And I will see you on the next video

Floating Epoxy Waterfall River Table | Woodworking How to Build - Duration: 9:52.
I'm Brad Rodriguez for Fix This Build That and today
I'm going to show you how to make an epoxy waterfall River table.
Now this is my first time working with epoxy and my first time welding.
So I'm going to show you some tips and tricks along the way stay tuned. I'll show you just how I did it.
I dad this old cherry slab for awhile
and I never knew what to do with it because it was so curved and gnarly.
But one day it hit me this would be the perfect piece to rip in half and give me a live edge River table.
To find the best cut line I used a string and I centered it on the end of each slab
I played around with it until I found the line that I wanted and I marked both ends for the cut.
Now the slab was about as warped as it was curved so I shimmed it from underneath for a stay base.
Then I clamped a straight edge to the slab
And I used my cordless circular saw from Ridgid the sponsor of today's video to cut the slab in multiple passes.
And the slab was just a little thicker than the depth of my blade so I had to finish off the cut
the old fashioned way, by hand.
With the slab cut into two halves, I took them through a few milling operations
to get the board's ready for the next step.
I surfaced the slabs flat on one side with my joining,
then I used that reference surface to flatten the other side with my planer.
Having two flat and parallel faces I went back one more time to the jointer to get a square flat edge on each slab.
With the slabs cleaned up I could tell that they were too long and a little bit too thick for what I wanted to do.
So I found the best part of each slab
And then I cut them to length for the size that I needed using my table saw and once again a handsaw.
Now instead of just planing off and wasting the extra thickness of the slabs
I resawed each of them down to an inch and a quarter.
Now I'll be able to use the thinner pieces from this cut off in another project later.
I ran the boards through the planer one final time to remove the bandsaw marks.
And then I cut the slabs to final length for the form that I'll be making.
To prep for the resin pour I needed to clean up the live edges
by sanding off any loose material and got a good surface for the epoxy to stick to.
Like I said the slabs were pretty gnarly and had some good size checks
and cracks in them some going all the way through the edge.
So I taped up the bottom of the cracks
And then I mixed up some five-minute epoxy to fill the voids. This is gonna
help me stabilize the edge and keep the epoxy from leaking out during the main pour.
Now while the epoxy was setting up I moved on to making the form for the pour.
I had some 3/4 inch MDF on hand and I cut a base in four sides out of it
to keep the epoxy resin from sticking to the form I covered the pieces in a sealing tape.
I'll have a link down below in the description to this tape and all the other items that I use during this build.
I put the form together with screws and then sealed the inside corners of the form with more of the tape.
Now if I did it again, I'd probably use silicone to seal the inside corners
because the taping took quite a while especially on those inside 3-way corners.
I loaded the slabs into the form and I could really see the shape
starting to come together this thing is gonna look awesome.
Now to keep the slabs from floating around on the epoxy
I clamp the wood down and I screwed it to the form from underneath
You could also just clamp them down if you don't want the holes on the underside.
I used a hot glue gun to seal up some small gaps on the ends of the slabs too to try to keep that epoxy out.
Now the form needs to be level for the epoxy pour
so I shimmed up one end of my bench to make sure that everything
was even in level. Next I figured out how much epoxy resin to use.
I measured the gap between the slab in 4 to 8 inch segments at a time
Then I multiply that average gap by the length of the segment
that I was measuring I added up all those numbers
And then I multiplied it by the height of the slab so I could get a total volume of the gap.
Now to convert to leaders I called in an expert.
Alexa how many liters is 155 cubic inches
I used an epoxy with a two-to-one resin to hardener mix.
I wanted a two-color pour so I measure out one and a half liters of the two
makes in one container in one later in the other I
Added some metallic pigment to the epoxy and I stirred each mix for several minutes
The deep blue and the green turned out amazing and that silver pearlessence gave it some extra depth.
now for the big moment of the pour I decided to pour it from both ends one color in each hands a
shout-out to my buddies Dylan and Jason of Black Forest wood Co
who showed me how to do a pour like this on one of my Instagram lives.
And while the epoxy was curing I actually went to Cleveland for a spring make event with Lincoln Electric.
They brought a group of youtubers and local makers together to teach us how to weld better.
I was the newbie of the bunch.
And I just learned the basics of MIG and TIG welding I went to a local metal shop
and I picked up some one-inch square tube for the base
And I used the Lincoln 210 MP to weld up the base. It was really easy to learn with that digital readout.
I'm really excited to do more welding projects in the future.
Thank you - Lincoln Electric for having me out and
to Doug from Retro Weld and John Malecki for helping me film this and build the base.
Back home, I grinded the welds down on the base with my grinder and a flat disc.
It was nice to have a cordless grinder here
so I could grind it in the side yard and keep that metal dust out of the shop.
I drilled mounting holes in the base for the top.
And then I primed it and sprayed on some matte black paint in a matte clear coat it's not perfect
But it was a great learning experience in a great first welding project
With the epoxy 72 hour cure complete it had setup rock-hard.
I unscrewed and removed the sides from the form, and then I removed the screws from the bottom of the slab.
To separate the slab from the form I used a putty knife and a small pry bar to work around the piece until it released
You could see on the backside that quite a lot of the epoxy ended up leaking under the slabs and
This brought the top surface of the epoxy down below the wood a bit.
I purposely made the top just under 13" wide so I could use my rigid 13 " planer to level the wood in the epoxy.
And remove any excess from the bottom very easily
You could also use a belt sander for this step and on larger pieces that can't fit in the planer
After the planing a few voids showed up on the surface
So I filled them in with five-minute epoxy, and I used some that blue pigment to make sure that it blended in with the pour.
Instead of sanding it all off after the epoxy cured
I just ran it through the planer again at the same settings and it worked like a charm.
Besides in one in needed to be cleaned up next so I squared up one edge on the jointer
and I trim the other side on my table saw.
I also squared up one of the ends on my crosscut sled and
then started final prep on the slab before making the waterfall joint.
I went ahead and sand of the slab now since it seemed like it'd be easier to work with in one piece.
I sanded the wood up to 180 grit and I took the epoxy all the way up to 400 grit.
I probably do the sanding after the glue up next time because it did
get a little bit scratched up during the next few processes.
I used my table saw on a crosscut sled to cut the waterfall edge on the table
I tilted the blade to 45 degrees. I made the initial bevel cut on the larger vertical piece
Then I flipped the smaller top piece over and I back beveled it with a matching miter.
I moved the blade back to 90 degrees and then I cut the larger piece to the exact size for the base.
There's several different ways to do the glue up for a long miter joint like this and I opted for what I think is the
easiest one. I lined up the two pieces with the minors facing down,
and I put a piece of packing tape across the seam.
Then I flipped over the pieces and put two more pieces of tape just
past the miters to stop the squeezed out from getting on the wood.
After that I folded up the miter
And I used the top to position and clamp down a pair of right angle squares to the slab
This gave me a great reference base. I
used five-minute epoxy again for this connection.
I applied it liberally to one side of the joint
Then I folded up the miter and clamped the top to the right angle squares
that were already clamped down to the bench.
Now if the miner wasn't fully supported by the metal base
I would have used splines or a floating tenon to strengthen the joint
but I didn't think that that was needed here because of that support from the metal.
I let the epoxy set up overnight
And I took it out of the clamps to the next day.
The miter turned out really well and all I needed to do is some final sanding before finish.
I applied a two-part oil-based finish to the slab and the cherry and the epoxy really came to life.
The knots, spalting and grain variation in the cherry
really popped against the depth and the color of that blue epoxy resin.
I buffed the oil off the surface and I was ready for the base.
I meant of the base upside down, and I shim the wood as necessary to fit my less than perfect welding job.
I left the top of the base open in the back you can see here
why I did that so there'd be no metal crossing under the epoxy and obscuring the light passing through it.
And this project really challenged me to try new things it was fun to work with new materials like metal and epoxy
and I'm looking forward to incorporating them into future projects.
I want to give big thank you to RIDGID Power Tools for sponsoring my channel and today's video.

6 Core Motivations/Needs to Build a Great Team - Duration: 3:12.
- Hi, Paul from FieldInsight.
I'm the founder.
I'm gonna talk about keeping staff motivated and happy
and it's not what you think.
It's not pay more.
Pay more, happy staff.
You wanna look after them but not that way.
I mean, you gotta pay them but
that's not what motivates people.
So there's six core motivations which drive people
and they correlate to different ways
you treat them in the workplace to,
in general, an environment where they're happy
and to be honest a happy workplace
is a place you want to turn up to yourself so
while you're investing in their happiness
that also reflects your happiness.
Happy workers. (laughs)
Happy wife, happy life.
Happy workers, happy life too.
And they have your back.
If they have your back they have your back
and they can save your bacon too when things don't go right.
So the six core motivations
so let's just quickly go though them.
So certainty.
Threatening to fire them (laughs)
is an example of not providing them with certainty.
The other way to remember this is uncertainty
but it's more about variability
so if you've just given them
the same thing day in and day out
that, and their brain's not getting expanded at all
that's not motivating.
That's boring.
Boring is not motivating.
Significance, so they feel like they're contributing
to your organization.
They can see the effect they're having on
the customers but also on the organization as a whole
so good metrics to show that people are moving forward
is very motivating for them.
Love and care, that you actually have a regard for them
as a human being and you want to see them succeed
as an individual.
That could be beers on Friday night
and some nice chops, and sausages,
steaks, and whatever.
Just showing that you care.
Growths, so an opportunity to actually
progress their career.
They feel like they're moving somewhere
so not only are they
engaged and interested in what they're doing
but an opportunity to grow and move up.
So having a laddered approach
where people can move into more senior roles
and leadership roles and gain more skills
and an opportunity to use those skills is really important.
And contribution, so if they feel like,
these are all all of us,
but contribution so they feel like
they're adding some value to the world
so you're investing in some charity.
Support for people in need,
support for people in another country
who are in desperate need.
That creates a sense of motivation.
So if you can tick those six boxes
you can motivate them without just thinking
I've gotta throw more money at it.
'Cause money is not the be all and end all.
It's actually one of the least motivating things
for why people go to work and why they enjoy work.
