Hello my name is Ruben Major and I'm running for Secretary of State.

I'm Latino and Native American

and I came from a broken home. My mother and I were even

sold into human trafficking when I was a kid but I overcame obstacles and I was

able to get a law degree and a master's in military history. And today I own a

large EMT and Paramedic recertification company with my wife and we have three

great kids. I'm also a technologist and a writer and I'm running to make sure that

the elections are secure so that we can have the leaders that we need to be able

to fight for economic and climate justice. Time is of the essence! I'm not

taking any corporate money and I'm not endorsing any other candidates because

the person in charge of voting must not help another candidate win. Here's my

platform. Number one we need new voting systems that do not belong to

corporations they must belong to the public. Secretary of State Debra

Bowen's top to bottom review set this change in motion, but unfortunately my

opponent has dropped the ball. I will make this change happen! Number two, the

voting process, including registration, must be cleaned up and California ranks

next to last for voter turnout. I will work to make sure that this

problem is repaired and that every candidate that a person is eligible to

vote for actually shows up on the ballot. No crossover ballots! This isn't rocket

science,. Number three, my opponent is being sued by the ACLU for

disenfranchising communities of color. We cannot tolerate this! As your Secretary

of State I will work to solve this crisis. In closing, I need your help, but

we must recognize that the hour is late. But with the power and righteousness

together we can overcome these obstacles and make sure that people will have the

opportunity to obtain the American Dream. We can make sure that California is the

leader when it comes to safe and secure elections, so I'm asking you please

How A Skeptical Rancher In Rural California Embraced Green-Friendly Farming - Duration: 1:23.

Climate friendly farming I would say it's just being aware of the soil.

Really it's soil. If we can support our soil and our soil systems our soil systems will support us.

Where we're at right now you can see that the the creek is where the

livestock water. It's degraded because of hoof prints and across there where it's

fenced you don't see that. So our grand project here is to do water

developments out in the field so they have an alternative water source,

fresh water from a well and the grass draws down carbon as it grows. The compost is a

combination of manure and carbon woodchips and hay, old straw, different

materials, old down trees things, we can gather from the ranch. So far we've just

spread it on on this last pivot and it's an alfalfa pivot so that's alfalfa hay

that's really good for sheep in the winter time when they're lambing. Then we

feed that to the sheep and take a full circle that way.
