The total value of South Korea's foreign exchange reserves set yet another record high last

month.

The Bank of Korea says reserves reached 395-point-seven-five billion U.S. dollars at the end of January,...

up by roughly six-and-a-half billion from the previous month.

The country's FX reserves rallied for a third month in a row,... also posting the largest

on-month increase since April 2015.

The central bank attributes the rise to the depreciation of the U.S. dollar,... which

increased the value of non-dollar currencies when converted into dollars.

South Korea, U.S. top nuclear envoys meet in Seoul to continue discussions on North Korea - Duration: 0:59.

The National Assembly will kick off its first interpellation session of 2018 later this

afternoon.

Over the next three days,... lawmakers will question government officials about a range

of areas,... including foreign affairs, the economy and social issues.

Our Kim Min-ji has a preview.

Top government officials,... including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon,... will be fielding

questions on pending issues from rival lawmakers over the next three days.

It's the first parliamentary interpellation session of the year,... and the second since

President Moon Jae-in took office in May last year.

Rival lawmakers are expected to clash as they put the administration's performance under

the microscope.

"The interpellation session kicks off today.... and I hope that it will be a dignified session

so that it becomes a good opportunity for the government to better serve the people."

Monday's Q&A session will cover the areas of politics, unification, foreign affairs

and security.

It will be followed by economy-related topics on the second day,... and education, culture

and social issues on the third and final day.

Topping the list of the most contentious issues is amending the country's Constitution.

The ruling Democratic Party of Korea is expected to stress that it will be aimed at bettering

people's lives,... and that a referendum must be held alongside local elections in June.

However, opposition parties will likely argue that the core of the revision should be reducing

presidential powers,... but they claim the ruling bloc has no intention of doing that.

Another key topic is inter-Korean relations.

The ruling party will likely call on the opposition's support so as to foster peace on the Peninsula,...

starting with North Korea's participation at the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

But the opposition bloc claims the Games are overshadowing the regime's nuclear ambitions,...

and that Seoul is letting Pyongyang have its own way.

Also mired in dispute is the recent minimum wage hike.

The ruling party is expected to stress that it was needed to better people's lives,...

and that they have introduced support funds for microbusinesses to help them deal with

the extra financial burden.

However, the opposition will likely claim that it's not doing either side any good -- and

it's actually causing more job losses.

The opposition will also criticize a string of other policies,... including regulations

on cryptocurrency exchanges and measures to cool the property market -- claiming these

initiatives have not brought the changes promised by the government.

Michelle's Pissed! Barack Obama Caught Leaving US After Damning Video Links Him To Crime - Duration: 7:18.

Michelle's Pissed!

Barack Obama Caught Leaving US After Damning Video Links Him To Crime

Michelle Obama is reeling after a damning video was just found, and it's really bad

news for her husband, former President Barack Obama.

The former first lady has been alone on the road over the last few months, distancing

herself from Barack, and now, we know why.

The damning video catches the former president red-handed, linking him to serious crimes,

and now, he's leaving the United States.

You don't want to miss this.

For months, patriots have been waiting patiently as President Donald Trump worked behind the

scenes, instigating various covert-type operations to expose the deep state traitors.

The swamp and its deep state rats are far worse than any of us could have ever imagined

in our wildest nightmares.

It's very important to note that Trump's role in stopping the deep state had to stay

mostly hidden.

Why?

Well, we aren't a communist state and certain protocols and procedures must be followed

to ensure we catch the bad guys the right way.

So, President Trump reached out to those who he learned he could trust, and one such player

was Inspector General Michael Horowitz, whose job is like the Internal Affairs division

in a police department.

He secretly investigates the FBI and the DOJ, the nation's "top lawmen."

Horowitz hates Barack Obama.

He watched as Obama used his minions in the FBI and the DOJ to target Trump.

But, like any crime, getting to the big boss is always tricky.

Usually, the low-level rats get caught, and the real power players get off scot-free.

Well, if you've read or heard about the contents in what's being called the Nunes

or FISA Abuse memo, you have a good idea how former President Barack Obama's FBI colluded

with Hillary Clinton's campaign and their oppo research firm Fusion GPS to produce the

fake Steele dossier, also known as the Trump-Russia dossier, out of whole cloth.

We all know now for certain that the fake dossier was not only bought and paid for by

the Hillary Clinton camp but also that the FBI was paying one of the authors, former

MI6 agent Christopher Steele.

The FBI was paying Fusion GPS.

It's important to also note that the FBI and the DOJ are part of the executive branch,

meaning they report directly to the president.

Last year, the Inspector General launched a secret sting operation into the FBI and

the DOJ, investigating the Hillary Clinton email scandal and the so-called Russian collusion

with the Trump campaign.

The Nunes or FISA memo is just the tip of the iceberg, representing only a fraction

of the crimes committed by former President Obama's cabal at the FBI and DOJ.

So, there is no longer any question about the FBI and the DOJ committing crimes by falsely

obtaining FISA warrants on American citizens based on a pack of lies called the Steele

dossier, and Rep. Steve King just found a damning video from April 2016, where Obama

lies his butt off "guaranteeing" that there is no corruption going on with any investigations

in the FBI or DOJ.

Think about that statement now, with Hillary getting off scot-free and the spying and interference

by Obama's FBI, manufacturing a fake Russian scandal and blaming it on Trump, hoping to

impeach him.

Obama made this statement at exactly the time as those crimes were being committed.

Below is the video and King's tweet, which stated, "When you #ReadTheMemo think about

the fingerprints of #Obama.

Obama 'Guaranteed' NO corruption in FBI or DOJ in any case!

'Guaranteed.

Full stop!'"But, there's more.

This is driving Obama crazy because it will all end right on his head, make no mistake

about that.

Michelle knows it too.

They have sources in high places, and the Obamas know Barack will be indicted.

In fact, the IG's year-long report with indictments is due to come out at the end

of March, and guess who is leaving the country in March?

Yep, Obama is leaving for New Zealand.

That's right, former President Obama plans to visit New Zealand in March, according to

The New Zealand Herald.

"The Herald reports that Obama is scheduled to visit the country around March 21 for a

yet-to-be-announced reason, possibly to celebrate the opening of Air New Zealand's new route

to the U.S., likely to Chicago," reports The Hill.

It's a tiny little blip of news no one is paying attention to, but when you put it together

with the fact the IG's investigative report is due out at the end of March, it's not

a shocker to learn Obama's headed out of the country "for a yet-to-be-announced reason."

Celebrating an air route to Chicago?

Well, that just doesn't pass the smell test.

"Watch closely for Barack Obama's fingerprints," said Rep. Steve King, according to Breitbart.

The Iowa Congressman went on to suggest that the recent alleged partisan weaponization

of state surveillance powers could be connected to the 44th president.

"[Democrats and their allies] will defend Barack Obama at all costs, and they'll defend

Hillary Clinton almost at all costs unless they have to sacrifice her to protect Barack

Obama," he added.

Fox News reporter Maria Bartiromo agreed, tweeting, "[S]ix senior leaders of the FBI/DOJ

have been reassigned or fired based on facts that have come out of the work of the inspector

general.

Yet, House Intel Cmtw Chair [Devin] Nunes is branded a lunatic by the CLINTON/obama

mafia w new killers- adam Schiff & media Incredible."Barack Obama sees the writing on the wall.

He knows what happened to former President Richard Nixon due to Watergate, and that was

nothing compared to these heinous crimes committed to interfere with a duly elected President

of the United States.

Watergate was child's play — a couple guys in ski masks broke into the DNC headquarters

and got caught.

It's laughable, yet it was so serious because Nixon knew about it and covered it up.

Now, consider a president using the most powerful law enforcement agencies in the world to dupe

judges with fake evidence (the Steele dossier) to obtain warrants to spy on a presidential

candidate (Donald Trump) all to back up their false narrative and swear to the American

people that Russia interfered with Trump's help to ensure he won the presidency.

Barack Obama better go further than New Zealand.

But, I don't think there is any place in the world where he can hide now.

What's coming is coming, and this is so horrendous that there is nothing in America's

history to compare it to — not Richard Nixon, not even Benedict Arnold.

Barack Obama has outdone every traitor to America in history, and that is how he will

be remembered, that's the sick legacy he earned.

U.S. Bank Protest in Minneapolis: Activists March Against Pipeline Funding|| SML News - Duration: 13:11.

U.S. Bank Protest in Minneapolis: Activists March Against Pipeline Funding [PHOTOS & VIDEOS]

Protesters brave the cold in Minneapolis.

Just before the Super Bowl, water protectors from South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and other parts of the country joined together in Minneapolis to protest the U.S.

Bank. They say U.S.

Bank did not keep its promise to step away from oil and gas pipelines, including ETP.

Seeding Sovereignty, one of the groups participating in the protest, wrote in part: "We are here … to ask US Bank to keep their promise and divest from pipelines.

We want them to divest from Energy Transfer Partners who owns the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Rover Pipeline, the Mariner East Pipeline and the Bayou Bridge Pipeline." What exactly happened and why did protesters choose the day before the Super Bowl to hold their demonstration? Read on for details and to see photos and videos from the protest.

U.S.

Bank Had Pledged Not to Support Pipelines, But Activists Say That Promise Wasn't Kept.

This all started in 2017, when U.S.

Bank became the first major bank to announce that they would stop financing pipeline construction.

The news was announced in their 2017 Environmental Responsibility Policy from April.

But activists are arguing that despite their policy, the bank is actually still financing the pipelines, although more indirectly.

The best example, one activist group has shared, is that just eight months after the policy was published in 2017, U.S.

Bank signed a $5 billion credit agreement with ETP, which is now building even more pipelines.

Emma FialaA scene from the U.S.

Bank protest. U.S.

Bank's policy read, in part: "The company does not provide project financing for the construction of oil or natural gas pipelines.

Relationships with clients in the oil and gas pipeline industries are subject to the Bank's enhanced due diligence processes…" This news was celebrated at the time by environmental activists and publishers, but now some activists believe they celebrated too soon. EcoWatch initially reported on the change, which came after the bank had renewed its commitment with Energy Transfer Partners, the company that constructed the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Activists Say U.S.

Bank Is Still Funding Pipelines By Giving General Financing to ETP & Other Clients.

Emma FialaA scene from the U.S.

Bank protest.

Some activists are saying that the bank is still financing the pipelines indirectly.

And because of this, hundreds showed up for the protest in Minneapolis the day before the Super Bowl, shutting down an intersection in the city:.

   .

The Des Moines Register reported that environmentalists came to Minneapolis to protest the four-state pipeline before the Super Bowl on Sunday.

The activists say that the Minneapolis-based U.S.

Bank financed the $3.8 billion pipeline, completed by ETP in 2017.

Ed Fallon, Bold Iowa director, told the Des Moines Register: "U.S. Bank is as complicit as Energy Transfer Partners for abusing eminent domain, trampling the rights of rural landowners, destroying farmers' soil and crops, and threatening our water and climate.

That can change.

It needs to change, and we're turning up the heat to make it happen.".

Meanwhile, U.S.

Bank officials pointed to their 2017 Environmental Policy and said that it's still in place.

Spokesman Dana Ripley told the Des Moines Register: "U.S.

Bank did not finance the Dakota Access pipeline project.

As a matter of policy we do not do project finance." They do have a banking relationship with ETP, but they said that relationship doesn't include the pipeline and they "don't comment on our customer relationships.".

Emma FialaA scene from the U.S.

Bank protest.

Nation of Change published a story in May 2017 which outlines why activists believe U.S.

Bank is still responsible in part for the pipelines.

They say that U.S.

Bank's financing to companies like ETP is for general use, which can include pipeline construction, even if it's not funding the construction directly.

U.S.

Bank's clients include Enbridge, ETP, Phillips 66, and Marathon, who all own stakes in the Dakota Access pipeline, among others.

So, the article argues, even though U.S.

Bank may not be financing at a project level, the funding and credit they give can still be used for the pipelines.

During the construction of the DAPL, for example, U.S.

Bank gave ETP a $175 million line of credit and then later recommitted to the deal.

Nation of Change argues: "If U.S.

Bank is going to stop financing pipelines, it has to stop lending at the corporate level, too.".

The Protest Drew Hundreds the Day Before the Super Bowl.

Emma FialaA scene from the U.S.

Bank protest.

The protest began at 12:30 p.m.

local time at the headquarters of Minnesota 350 at 2104 Stevens Ave.

in Minneapolis.

The Super Bowl is taking place at U.S.

Bank Stadium, which is why the protest is happening the day before the Super Bowl.

Participants included Native and non-Native organizations, and the goal is to pressure the U.S.

Bank to stop financing oil pipelines completely. Christine Nobiss, founder of Indigenous Iowa, said: "US Bank funds the extraction industry and allows government-backed corporate conglomerates to move in to poor communities and create havoc." Here are some more videos from the protest:.

Protesters started out by meeting at MN350's office with Kate Jacobson, Interim Executive Director, to go over the plans for the march.

Items like backpacks, signs, and banners were not allowed in the Super Bowl Live area.

Many protesters risked bringing their backpacks, which contained bullhorns, signs, and camera equipment.

Some wore large signs to carry outside. .

Emma Fiala, who photographed the event, shared with Heavy that the protesters met at the U.S.

Bank headquarters and had to pass through a security checkpoint right in front of the bank they were protesting.

Members of the Native community kicked off the protest and then activists marched down Nicollet Mall.

"We took over an intersection in a highly visible and high traffic area where there was more chanting and more speakers." .

Emma FialaA scene from the U.S.

Bank protest.

From there, activists continued marching past the Minneapolis Convention Center and back to the MN350 office.

The police followed the marchers, but there were no confrontations.

The protest was peaceful, no one was arrested, and everyone was safe.

Emma FialaPolice follow the protesters.

There were no arrests and the event was peaceful.

The Concern Doesn't Stop with the DAPL; Now the Bayou Bridge Pipeline Is Drawing Worries.

China accuses US of 'Cold War mentality' over nuclear policy - Duration: 4:58.

China accuses US of 'Cold War mentality' over nuclear policy

China decried the U.S.

for its "Cold War mentality" on Sunday after Washington announced last week that it plans to diversify its nuclear arsenal with smaller bombs.

The U.S.

military believes its nukes are seen as too large to be used and wants to develop low-yield bombs—a move that has prompted condemnation from China, Iran and Russia.

"The country that owns the worlds largest nuclear arsenal, should take the initiative to follow the trend instead of going against it, Chinas defense ministry said on Sunday, reports BBC.

China said it "firmly" opposed the Pentagon's nuclear policy review.

On Twitter, Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also lashed out.

"The US Nuclear Posture Review reflects greater reliance on nukes in violation of the #NPT, bringing humankind closer to annihilation," Zarif said on the social network.

Russias foreign minister called the move confrontational and expressed deep disappointment.

However, America is concerned that its arsenal won't remain an effective deterrent without being modernized.

The U.S.

has named China, Russia, Iran and North Korea as potential threats.

The document released on Friday by the Pentagon, known as the Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), argues that developing smaller nuclear weapons would challenge that assumption.

Low-yield weapons with a strength of under 20 kilotons are less powerful but are still devastating.

The policy also recommends: Land-based ballistic missiles, submarine-launched missiles, and air-delivered weapons—to be extensively modernized, as begun under ex-President Obama.

Bringing back sea-based nuclear missiles.

Modifying some submarine-launched nuclear warheads to give a lower-yield detonation.

The defense ministry in Beijing said Washington had played up the threat of Chinas nuclear threat, adding that its own policy was defensive in nature.

"We hope that the United States will abandon its Cold War mentality, earnestly assume its special disarmament responsibilities, correctly understand Chinas strategic intentions and objectively view Chinas national defence and military build-up," its statement said.

This isn't the first time that China has used the Cold War label to denounce U.S.

policy.

Last year it said that Washington's defense strategy tied to "outdated notions.".

In the NPR document, the U.S.

accused China of expanding its already considerable nuclear forces but China defended its policy on Sunday saying it would resolutely stick to peaceful development and pursue a national defence policy that is defensive in nature..
