HOW MANY PARTS?

Hi. This is Mihnea.

Welcome to Romanian Hub, the Ultimate Romanian Language Learning Portal.

In this episode of Romanian Flip Chart Lessons I will use one of the top 25 most frequently

used nouns in the English language and translate it into Romanian.

Then I will spell the word and make a sentence and a question with it.

Hai să începem.

Let's start.

In this lesson we'll look at the word

"part".

In Romanian:

parte

p-a-r-t-e

parte

Let's make a sentence.

Mi-a plăcut partea a doua a filmului.

I liked the second part of the movie.

Now let's make a question.

Câte părți are?

How many parts does it have?

And that's the end of the Romanian Flip Chart Lesson.

Now it's your turn!

Make a sentence with the target word and post it in the comments section below.

And, don't forget to SUBSCRIBE.

In that way you won't miss the next episode.

Ceau.

This is Mihnea, signing out from Bangkok.

How many years of Blush do I own? Make Up Collection | CORRIE SIDE - Duration: 8:14.

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! My name is Corrie. Today we are gonna be

asking ourselves "how many years of blush do I have in my makeup collection?"

I've done a couple other videos like this on things like foundation and highlighter.

You can check them out right up here. For now let's talk blush.

Let's go through all the blush products in my collection.

First we have the Too Faced Love Flush blush. This is in Baby Love.

It's an adorable, really soft and natural-looking pink color.

It almost looks underwhelming on the skin, it's just that natural.

Really pretty. This pan is quite large it is 6g of product.

Next I have this Make Up Forever blush. This is in number 99 and it's just a

really pretty red blush. This is a 2.5g pot and it's really just

like a really pinky, red. I actually got this one when I had red hair and I would

add a little bit of this red powder to my brown eyebrow powder just to make it

match my hair a little bit better.

If you shop at Sephora and you were a VIB member a last year you probably own

this guy, as well. This is the Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in paaarty. This is a

1.5g... I think it's a double sample? and I tried to de-pan it, so it's got a

big dent in it. This is the color. It's very pretty, kind of similar to be

Too Faced Love Flush but I would say the Love Flush is a little bit more peach

in tone, where this is more of a true pink.

I have this beautiful blush, this is from Milani

and you can see it's pressed into the shape of a rose. True pink blush. This is

in the shade 08 Tea Rose and it's a huge 17g pot. 17 grams in this

thing.. oh my god! Really, really pretty. Really generous size. Really great price.

Next I have a Tarte cheek stain. This is the Tarte Blushing Bride cheeks stain.

This is a 14.2g product.

Absolutely huge and the

color is just a really beautiful, bright pink. Definitely the brightest,

loudest, true pink. It's a really weird texture.

It's kind of sticky feeling so it's best when you're going for a natural look,

when you're not wearing maybe base foundation because it it kind of pulls

your foundation off. I also have two Sephora gel blushes. This Blush Me shade

in All Smiles #1 and this is a 3.5g jar. This is just a really

loud coral, very beautiful color. And I also have Young Love #4. These are

really cheap on Sephora's website and they last beautifully all day. They're

not sticky and gross feeling like Tarte one, which is a little more uncomfortable

to wear. These go on great over foundation, they were beautifully all day

and like I said they're super cheap. I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a

cream blush to check them out. One other little blush product here... this is

the Sephora Colorful Cheek Gel Ink and this is in the color Peony. This is

a little sample. It comes out quite bright but it really blends out to a

really natural, again really cool toned flush. Looks great on pale skin which I

find that really pale pink blushes kind of a hard time showing up on my skin, so

this is great. I really love it and I've done a wear test on it as well.

That's my beautiful blush collection but wait there's actually more... unfortunately.

I was really bad on Christmas last year and I got one of

those Big Blush Books from Tarte right before the Tart scandal went down so

I've got all these products to use up. but this was the Vol III Tarte Blush Book.

I also got the NARS Goulue VIB blush, as well. Here are 7 pans...

and these are 0.2oz. This one which is 0.5oz.

but Goulue is really beautiful. Here are those 7 Tarte blushes swatched on my

skin. I mean some of the colors are nice but like these all look the same to me

because I'm not that picky. I wish I had a little bit more variety in tone.

And now for the moment of truth! I want you to guess... Pause right now and guess

how many years of blush do you think I own? I wear blush about five days a week

and I only wear one color at a time. So pause now give me your best guess down

in the comments below.

According to my little calculator here

I have 15.53 years of blush in my collection! I mean that Tarte

Big Blush Book definitely spoiled me there but even aside from that book I've

got so much blush. Especially these huge pens like the Milani. That is a ton of

blush to own and I think I really do have a great range of colors and tones

and warms and cools. I definitely don't think I need to buy any more blushes.

I am making really good progress on some of these blushes, the Milani, Too Faced,

the Sephora cream blush. This one's almost empty so I just got to keep

pushing and go through them and avoid buying blushes on their own or blushes

that come kitted with other things, let's say highlighters, for example.

Now it's your turn to share with me how many blushes do you own in your

collection? Am I completely insane and crazy? I feel

like my collection is medium / large with that blush book but these core

products I don't think that's overly crazy? Make sure you check me in the

comments here. If you would like to add up your collection I will definitely

leave a link to my little calculator excel sheet down in the comments below.

Highlighter, foundation, lipsticks, you name it we are going to add it up and

see how much we have to be better aware what is in our collection and to be

better aware of how we spend our money and if we need to stop and focus on

using up products instead of just buying more products. Let me know what you think

about all of this in the comments down below. It's definitely not meant to shame

or make fun of anybody. It's really just to kind of explore your own collection

and see what you got going on. Also a great time to swatch your

collection and see what you got going on as well. If you enjoyed today's video

make sure you give me a thumbs up and subscribe down below if you'd like to

see more beauty videos like this from me in the future. Huge thanks to my patrons

for helping bring these videos to you guys. If you'd like to help support my

channel you can think about becoming a patreon or share this video with anybody

else who might find it helpful, that really helps me out and aside from that

you guys I will see you all in Wednesday's beauty video thanks for

watching. BYEEEEEE

"How many people do you know who are gay divorced?" | DeAnne Smith - Duration: 4:24.

I love this place. This place is a liberal utopia.

Do you want to know how I immigrated here?

I got in to Montreal in 2006

by gay marrying a Mexican.

What?!

(laughter)

In 2006, you couldn't even gay marry a Mexican to get into Mexico.

Do you understand how amazing this place is?

Do you want to know why the Mexican came here?

You're not even ready for this.

The Mexican got into Montreal

because she wanted to go

to mime school.

(laughter)

Mime school!

L'ecole de mime.

I'm telling you that in order to legally

get in to Montreal, I gay married a Mexican mime.

That's what's going on here.

How good is this place?

(applause)

It's so good!

In 2006, I got gay married.

In 2007,

I got gay divorced.

Now...

Don't feel bad; I'm proud of it.

Do you understand how cutting-edge

that is? How many people do you know even today

that are gay divorced?

I'm blazing a trail for my people.

What I like to do,

I like to take a right not everybody in the world has,

use it, spit on it, throw it away.

Yeah! Oh, that's right.

That's called privilege.

You know what I'm talkin' about, white guys.

It's the best.

(laughter)

And I know you guys are curious; I know you want to know more about the

mime, and I would absolutely tell you more about the mime.

But... she doesn't talk to me.

(laughter)

Oh my gosh, that's a classic one-liner! C'mon, that's good comedy.

That wasn't fair, that wasn't fair.

I'm sharing with you from the heart; I will continue to do that.

I'll tell you that the real reason that we broke up

is that I just couldn't help but feel

that there was a wall between us.

(laughter)

'Kay, no, that wasn't fair. I will not do that again.

The real, real reason that we broke up

and I hope you can tell, I'm kind of a creative,

free-thinker and

she was always thinking inside the box.

(laughter)

They always come in threes; you should know that.

After the mime and I broke up,

I started dating another girl in Montreal

who was going to mime school.

What is happening in Montreal?

And do you understand what that meant for me? That's two in a row.

Like, I need to take a look at myself

at that point. Are mimes my type?

Like yeah. Maybe I'm just into, like, pale, silent girls

who like to pretend it's a lot windier than it actually is.

(laughter)

I'll tell you what, though: if you can make a mime make noise in bed?

You are doin' something right, y'know?

(applause)

There's so much to love about Montreal.

I went - I went to my first strip club

in Montreal.

My friends got me a lap-dance. The lap-dances are $10!

Oh I'm sorry, does that not seem incredibly cheap to you guys?!

Do you need context for that?

The lap-dance was $10. I paid $9

for a juice today.

That happened.

So this lap-dance was $10.

And I don't need to tell you, in Montreal, they get reeeal close.

And they're pretty naked.

And I discovered, a little late in the game,

that I don't have like a resting,

I'm-watching-a-strip-tease face.

I don't have

just like a generally cool expression that I can slap on

to indicate that I am enjoying this sexual scenario.

So for eight minutes

while this woman was at work,

for eight minutes while she is trying to do her job,

she's dealing with this.

(laughter)

I'm DeAnne Smith; thank you guys so much!

You Won't Believe How Many Pills Were Shipped To ONE Rural Town - Duration: 6:52.

THE OPIOID CRISIS CONTINUES TO DESTROY LIVES AND FAMILIES

THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND NEW DATA INDICATES THAT THERE

ARE CERTAIN COMPANIES THAT ARE GUILTY OF SPREADING OPIOIDS AND

SPECIFIC PARTS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE ADDICTION HAS BEEN

THE WORST, SO WEST VIRGINIA IS AN EXAMPLE OF THAT AND HERE

IS THE DATA THAT WE JUST LEARNED FROM A REPORTER FROM THE

CHARLESTON GAZETTE MAIL.

HIS NAME IS ERIC ERIE AND HE FINDS:

NO, THOSE DRUG COMPANIES PROBABLY THOUGHT THOSE 2900

PEOPLE ARE IN A LOT OF PAIN AND THEY ARE REALLY GOING TO NEED

THIS SO THE REASON WHY THAT IS A GREAT PIECE OF REPORTING BY THE

CHARLESTON GAZETTE MAIL AND IT GIVES YOU CONTEXT INTO HOW

MUCH THE COMPANY'S NEW.

THEY KNEW THAT IT WASN'T GOING FOR THIS 2900 PEOPLE.

THEY KNEW THEY WERE RUNNING PILL MILLS AND THEY KNEW IT WAS

FOR ILLEGAL DISTRIBUTION OF THOSE DRUGS.

THEY ALSO KNOW THAT IT IS A GATEWAY DRUG.

NOT MARIJUANA, THAT WAS A LIE ALL ALONG.

THIS IS ACTUAL GATEWAY DRUG.

THERE ARE A LOT OF DIFFERENT PLAYERS IN THE OPIOID CRISIS.

A COURSE OR ARE THERE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES

THAT ENCOURAGE LOVER PRESCRIPTION OF THESE

OPIOIDS, BUT THEN THERE ARE THE DRUG WHOLESALERS THAT

ESSENTIALLY SHIP OUT THESE PAINKILLERS TO VARIOUS

PHARMACIES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

THE WHOLESALERS THAT WERE GUILTY OF SENDING OR SHIPPING THE

SUPERFLUOUS AMOUNTS OF DRUGS TO WEST VIRGINIA WERE MIAMI

LUKEN AND H.D.

SMITH.

IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT HOW MUCH OF AN IMPACT THIS IS

HAVE, IF YOU LOOK AT WEST VIRGINIA AS A WHOLE, FOR

EXAMPLE:

YOU SEE THE DISPARITY THERE.

RELATIVELY SMALL POPULATION, A HUGE FLOW OF DRUGS

INTO THE STATE.

TO JUXTAPOSE THAT AGAINST DEATH BY A CAR ACCIDENT, THEY WERE

15 PER 1000 PEOPLE.

I WANT TO DIVE INTO THAT.

HOMICIDE FOR 5.9.

IF YOU PUT HOMICIDES IN CAR ACCIDENTS TOGETHER" YOU'RE

NOWHERE NEAR THE PEOPLE DYING FROM OPIOID OVERDOSE.

THEY PICK WEST VIRGINIA TO FUNNEL THESE DRUGS IN.

THEY KNOW THE PEOPLE IN WEST VIRGINIA ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE

780 MILLION PILLS, THEY DO THAT BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT IS A

DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR ILLEGAL PEDDLING OF THOSE DRUGS.

THERE IS NO WAY THOSE DRUG COMPANIES, LOOK AT THEIR

INTERNAL NUMBERS AGO THAT MAKE SENSE AND I BET THE PEOPLE

OF WEST VIRGINIA DO MAY NEED THAT MANY PAINKILLERS.

THEY KNOW EXACT WHAT IS GOING ON AND SINCE WEST VIRGINIA IS

A HUB OF THAT, IF YOU ARE THE HUB IT HITS YOU THE

HARDEST BECAUSE IT IS EVERYWHERE.

THOSE ARE STUNNING NUMBERS.

TO GET BEYOND CAR CRASHES FOR CAUSE OF DEATH IS MASSIVE

AND NOW THEY ARE ABOUT THREE TIMES THE SIZE OF CAR

CRASHES IS OPIOID DEATHS IN WEST VIRGINIA.

EXACTLY.

BY THE WAY, THOSE WITH THE NUMBERS FOR 2016.

THE NUMBERS FOR 2017 ARE NOT LOOKING GOOD.

IT'S NOT JUST WEST VIRGINIA, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE

COUNTRY AS A WHOLE.

IT'S NOT JUST WEST VIRGINIA THAT IS SUFFERING, THERE ARE OTHER

AREAS OF THE COUNTRY THAT ARE SUFFERING FROM OPIOID ADDICTION

WHICH BY THE WAY, LATER, BECAUSE OF STRICTER REGULATIONS TURNS

INTO HEROIN ADDICTION BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SO BADLY ADDICTED

THAT THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO HELP WITH THAT ADDICTION.

WHAT I MEAN BY THAT IS THE WITHDRAWS ARE DEVASTATING.

I WANT TO BE CLEAR ABOUT THE LAST COUPLE OF THINGS HERE.

THE BASIS FOR OPIOID MEDICINE, IT SOUNDS LIKE OPIOID IS

PERSPECTIVES IN PAINKILLERS LEGAL, IT MUST BE OKAY.

NO, THE BASIS IS OPIUM, THE SAME THING THAT GOES INTO HEROIN AND

OPIUM.

JUST AS DANGEROUS AS THOUGH ILLEGAL DRUGS ARE THESE DRUGS,

WE JUST MET MADE THEM LEGAL UNLIKE CORPORATIONS MAKE A

GAZILLION DOLLARS A PROFIT OFF OF THEM AND THEN INSTEAD OF DRUG

DEALERS, THEY DRESS UP IN TIES AND SUITS AND THEY PEDAL ALL OF

THIS BUT IS DRUG DEALING AND IT DOES GET PEOPLE ADDICTED AND WAY

MORE ADDICTED THAN MARIJUANA, NOT EVEN CLOSE AND NUMBER

OF DEATHS FROM MARIJUANA AND THAT SAME TIME PERIOD,

2017 WAS THE ROAD.

NUMBER OF DEATHS FROM OPIOIDS IS 67,000.

THERE ARE SO MANY DEATHS FROM OPIOIDS IN THE COUNTRY THAT FOR

THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE 1960S OUR LIFE EXPECTANCY OVERALL FOR

THE WHOLE COUNTRY HAS GONE DOWN THE LAST TWO YEARS ON THAT

ALONE.

THAT IS AMAZING.

BUT LUCKILY, WE HAVE AN ATTORNEY GENERAL THAT IS

HYPER FOCUSED ON PAINKILLERS AND GOING AFTER THESE

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES AS OPPOSED TO YOU KNOW, STATES

THAT OF LEGALIZED MARIJUANA FOR RECREATIONAL USE.

ALL RIGHT, WE DO NOT HAVE THAT.

WE HAVE AN ASS CLOWN.

JEFF SESSIONS IS GOING AFTER MARIJUANA BUT WORSE THAN

THAT, DONALD TRUMP DECLARED INNOCENT NATIONAL EMERGENCY

AND THEN PROCEEDED TO NOT ONLY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, BUT

HAS NOW GUTTED AN EXECUTIVE BRANCH PROGRAM DESIGNED TO

COMBAT OPIOID ABUSE, CUT FUNDING FOR BY 95%.

THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU.

WEST VIRGINIA VOTED FOR TRUMP MORE THAN I BELIEVE ANY

OTHER STATE IN THE COUNTRY AND NOW, HE IS JUST LAUGHING AT YOU.

How Many Crashes Has Amtrak Had Recently? See a Complete List Here

An Amtrak derailment from December.

An Amtrak train collided with a freight train in South Carolina early this morning around 2:30 a.m., leaving at least 70 people injured and two people dead.

But this isn't the first time Amtrak has had a major crash that caught national headlines.

Just how many crashes has Amtrak had recently? This is the fifth Amtrak crash in two months, and the third major crash.

Here is a list of how many Amtrak trains have crashed recently.

Today's Crash in South Carolina Was Between an Amtrak Train and a Freight Train.

Today's crash happened when a CSX freight train collided with an Amtrak Silver Service train.

Several passenger cars derailed after the collision.

There were 139 people on board the Amtrak train and eight crew members.

More than 70 people were injured and two people were killed in the crash.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m., but the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.

Another Amtrak Train Crashed Just a Few Days Ago While Transporting Republican Members of Congress.

This isn't the only fatal crash to happen with Amtrak this week. Another crash happened  on January 31 when a train transporting several members of Congress and their families was hit by a garbage truck around 11:30 a.m.

Eastern.

The garbage truck appeared to be stuck on the tracks.

The crash happened while the train was traveling through Albemarle County, Virginia.

At least five people were injured and one person died in the crash.

The person who died, Christopher Foley, was riding as a passenger in the garbage truck, and two other people in the truck were injured.

Some passengers on the Amtrak train were thrown from their seats and suffered minor bumps and bruises, Fox News reported.

Amtrak said in a statement that there were no injuries on the Amtrak train.

However, Congressman Marshall's wife, Laina, tweeted that her husband, a doctor, performed CPR on the train's conductor.

There were 380 people on board the train. Official reports later indicated that the engineer applied the brakes and tried to stop the train before it hit the truck.

The train was traveling 61 mph and the speed limit at the grade crossing was 60 mph.

In December, an Amtrak Derailed on I-5 Near Tacoma.

On December 18, an Amtrak 501 train derailed while heading southbound on its inaugural run near Tacoma, Washington.

The train crumped onto I-5.

At least three people were killed in the crash, which happened at 7:30 a.m.

Another 10 people had serious injuries, 4 moderate, and 9 minor.

Some motorists on I-5 were also among the injured.  The train was carrying 80 passengers and five crew members. According to CBS, the tracks had been used for freight traffic and were rebuilt to carry a new 79 mph Amtrak cascades route.

The mayor of a nearby Washington city had warned that a tragedy might happen just two weeks earlier. It was later revealed that the train had been traveling 80 mph on a 30 mph stretch of track, according to federal investigators.

On January 16, a Car Collided with an Amtrak Train in Dixon, California.

   .

On January 16 of this year, a driver died in Dixon, California after his car collided with Amtrak Capitol Corridor Train 532. The collision happened after 3 p.m.

at the Batavia Road crossing west of Dixon.

There were 55 passengers on the train and no injuries to passengers or crew.

On January 14, an Amtrak Train Hit an SUV That Tried to Pass a Lowered Crossing Gate.

And on January 14, a husband and a wife were killed in Whitakers, North Carolina when an Amtrak train hit an SUV that had gone around a lowered crossing gate. Police saidthe driver had tried to beat the train after the arms were lowered, and the Amtrak Train 89 hit them around 2:20 p.m.

Eugene and Dorothy Lyons were killed; Eugene was a well-known pastor in the area.

Here Are Additional Crashes That Happened Since June 2017.

Moving past the last two months, these additional crashes happened in recent years, reported by Patch.com and other sources.

Here are additional major crashes between 2010 and 2017.

June 27, 2017: A train in Washington D.C.

traveling south toward Union Station hit and killed two CSX workers.

They were checking a technical issue at the time of the crash.

June 26, 2017: An Amtrak passenger train hit a van and killed five people in Trinidad, Colorado.

No one on the train was hurt.

April 3, 2016: An Amtrak train with more than 300 passengers hit a backhoe outside of Philadelphia.

Two workers were killed and 35 people were injured.

May 12, 2015: An Amtrak passenger train, the Northeast Regional, traveling from D.C.

to New York derailed north of Philadelphia.

Eight people were killed.

The train had been traveling more than 100 mph and flipped.

The NTSB found that the driver was distracted and didn't realize the train was traveling at 100 mph around a curve when it should have been traveling at 50 mph.

June 23, 2014: A train with 200 people hit a car and derailed.

Three people in the car died.

This was near Boston.

November 29, 2012: In Orlando, a train crashed into a dump truck.

The driver was killed and seven people were injured.

July 11, 2011: In North Berwick, Maine, a train hit a garbage truck that was stuck on the crossing and the driver was killed.

June 24, 2011: A train traveling from Chicago to California was hit by a tractor trailer east of Reno, Nevada.

Six people were killed.

The NTSB found that the driver was not paying attention and didn't brake properly.

If you want to go even further into the past, here are the crashes that killed 10 people or more prior to 20oo, according to Patch.com.

It seems Amtrak did not have any major crashes between 2003 and 2001.

But Amtrak's worst crash in history was in 1993.

March 15, 1999: In Bourbonnais, Illinois, a passenger train derailed after hitting a semi truck.

Thirteen people were killed.

The truck driver was at fault, but there was also a track circuit malfunction.

February 16, 1996: In Silver Spring, Maryland, 11 people were killed after an Amtrak and MARC train collided.

The MARC train had not stopped in time.

September 23, 1993: This crash in Mobile, Alabama is the worst crash for Amtrak.

47 people died after a train crossed a bridge at 70 mph and the bridge collapsed.

January 4, 1987: In Chase, Maryland, 16 people died after multiple trains collided from not stopping at signals.

How many masters degrees/universities should you apply to? - Duration: 11:46.

Hello everybody I hope everyone's doing well today!

This is Dr. Varun Gandhi and you're listening to the Power Punch Club

Podcast.

Today my partner Vineet Jain is back. What's going on man? How you doing?

How was Colombia? Life is great! Colombia was amazing! I'm back here in cold

Pittsburgh but gosh were all those people out there were world travelers

I really recommend to put Colombia on top of your list

beautiful beautiful country I was so humbled by the by the spectacular views

the mountains the deserts the beaches everything um that's all I gotta say

yeah that's good man I'm good I'm so that's a classic here I actually

mentioned you in the podcast so they already know that you're in Colombia um

I told them well I know that they know really I was you told me about your

podcast that you started recording by the way great idea I love this mission

that you put us on the mission about just giving everyone all the information

they need to apply to universities level the playing field no matter where these

students are anywhere in the world they have the exact same opportunities to get

into great universities so I really really value that but anyhow when you

told me about podcast I got that email when I was on a bus from Carrara to MIT

aid in Colombia and the buses have like great Wi-Fi and everything much better

than here in the United States by the way it's funny my cell phone worked

better there than here my data plan and while I listened to the first podcast

while I was on that on that drive and that's a story that's the memory that

that's power punch Club podcast is always going to have the best man that's

awesome thank you for sharing that and yeah you know and you you articulate our

mission really well but the other the other part that these two the

international students are missing and is their ability to articulate and

communicate their story through the different pieces of the application and

this is where power punch Club podcast comes in as well to help them

Stan how the different pieces of the puzzle mean something that's greater

than just the individual pieces absolutely articulation is key here is

the problem you may be the best student the most intelligent student the smart

student ambitious yet you've got to communicate this to your audience

through an application the application provides various different mediums to

communicate that do your resume through your letter of recommendations through

your statement of purpose and of course through your GRE score you have to graph

each of these opportunities and make the most of it and if you cannot articulate

in today's world it's it's game over for you

you might as you should start today to get better at articulating get better at

writing get better at talking get better at selling get better at branding

yourself because in today's world no matter where you are even if you decide

not to apply to universities you gotta sell your thoughts and your ambitions to

everyone around you it couldn't be tough I completely agree

that that's a really good advice and I hope people listen to you because they

definitely need to follow that and they definitely need to spend more time

articulating their story now for their application and form for the future

because that's one of the ways one of the the best ways to get a job in

America is if you understand what your story is and what what your why is

essentially but if if they spend more time articulating your story the reason

they don't have that time it's because they're actually spending too much time

on applying to so many different University so that's the topic we're

going to address today is how many universities should these students apply

to and all right yeah so the golden rule that we follow here at power punch Club

is six to eight universities anything more means you have no clue what you're

doing you're too confused and you have no game plan period that's it if you

even think that you need to apply to more than six six is actually enough

eight is stretch more than that we need to talk

with somebody and think about this you're spending so much money just

applying to more universities than you need to it's about 100 225 maybe 175

dollars per application that adds up instead take that money invested in a

mentor and a spiritual advisor someone who can help you get some clarity of

purpose into your brain and so that you have a better game plan when applying

completely agree man that's an amazing point that you bring up about how much

they're spending almost you know 15 applications a hundred dollars per

application sometimes even more than that it's more than $1,500 they're

spending on just applications and that's that's not money well spent from the by

no means but also it takes a considerable amount of time to just

create one really good application right like why don't they spend that time on

creating that one really really good application as opposed to 15 different

average applications yes you're you're right I believe that the problem is in

their philosophy in their underlying philosophy when they try to tackle

applications they think they need to get one good application and then that one

application can be copy and pasted and then it's a numbers game you know that's

what they think but that's not how it should be done what they need to realize

what everyone needs to realize is that every relationship is a new conversation

so they need to start from beginning in their application and that's why it

takes a lot of time they think you put all the time effort in in that first

application and then they don't need to do that again and again because they

have the material and that's wrong because what you need to do is create

material for each University based on that University based on their program

based on what type of candidates they are looking for and that takes time

you're right so if you're saying 15 applications almost 50 hours for each

application they're committing themselves to how much do the math about

in 50 hours for that application to them most students start in the last two

three months anyway there's no way they could squeeze that type of time and even

if they do it's not quality time definitely so would you save that is

that that's what differentiates a great application from an average one the time

it takes to articulate their story that's definitely the the most important

aspect of it for sure and it goes back to our previous conversation if you

cannot articulate your ambition your goals your vision your purpose of

applying to this particular University out of the hundreds out there they want

value you as a candidate and if you Bay if they don't value you you don't get an

admission yeah because you don't value yourself and if you don't value yourself

that is not going to come across in your story and lastly you know if it doesn't

that's all the application committee seeds when they're thinking about a

student do we want to accept the student or not when they're making their

decision all they see is their application and if they don't have

articulate their story through their application and communicate it in a way

that best represents themselves then they're not their application it's not

going to get justice done to it it's like a club I think I've used this in

another podcast but think of the universities as like a club you're going

to go dancing you got to prep off everything the GRE is like the bouncer

that stands in front of the club and let you in or let you out right depending so

that's the GRE is like the very first hurdle that you got across if you're GRE

score or GMAT score is not good enough you won't even be considered for the

next level comes the next level we talked about it your GRE score is okay

then an admission counselor is going to go through spend five minutes on your

application and say you know what this application is in the top 20 I'm going

to put it on the side and we're going to review review it together some other day

how do you get into that top 20% I've heard a number two

then hurdle number three is good articulation good resume good background

good everything that will get you into the top 2% top 5% and those are the

students who will be given an admission at that particular prestigious

university I love the conversation but I'm sorry to

Absolutely! Thank You Varun!

Hey guys! This is Vineet with Varun at the Power Punch

Club. You guys know already that we're hosting events all across India this

coming summer for the Fall application season 2018. In these workshops, you're going

to come in the first few sessions are going to be identifying what your brand

is identifying what your goals are identifying what type of universities

you should be applying to what type of degrees you should be applying to if you

haven't taken the GREs there's going to be some assistance there on the GREs

though we we would require you to have taken at least one round of the GRE or

GMAT and then from that point on we're going to help you identify what stories

build your brand what stories you should include in your application when you do

include them in the application where do they go in the application do they go on

your resume do that go on your letter of recommendation do they go on in your

statement of purpose we're going to help you identify that and then we're going

to move on to help you write your application expect that by the end of

this workshop you will have one to two applications ready and you will know

exactly what to do for the last two three or four applications then you will

be all set one day twelve hours you will be all set for the application season

2018 we really recommend that you come and until then stay stay in touch

with us through our podcasts on to our website www.powerpunchclub.com
