CNCO 2017 Spain interview (ENGSUB) #CNCO's fashion style - Duration: 15:02.
Today we have with us,
CNCO!
How are you doing boys?
All: Good, Good.
C: Just a little bit nervous.
The first question is, did I pronounce your name right?
Because I have suffered.
My english is horrible.
CNCO.
All: Yeees. Perfect.
C: One of the few that says it right.
E: Applause.
What has been the worst pronunciation of your group name?
Z: MDO.
C: Silencio, MDO.
E: Cncoink.
C: Cncoink.
But the name Cinco would of sounded good though?
C: Yeah but It has to sound a bit cool.
You have accomplished a lot in a very short time,
so I will spare you from reading out everything.
Because you already know it.
But the coolest thing is that you are performing,
at the Vodafoneyu music this Saturday in Barcelona.
The tickets sold out right away.
C: Wow
Crazy isn't it?
Did someone tell you that people would like you this much?
Z: Well, actually no.
Z: We always get surprised every time we come to Spain.
Z: It's crazy and we never thought we would have a tour so soon here.
Z: And the tour starts tomorrow?
C: Yes, it starts tomorrow in Salamanca.
C: So everyone in Salamanca be ready because we will be there soon.
C: And then we are going to?
J: Sevilla the 19th.
C: Oh they already know?
C: They know more then us.
Z: Also Bilbao the 20th.
I like how you know one tour date each.
C: We practice.
R: We come back to Madrid the 21st.
But the fans knows better then you.
And the fans you have here, are standing in queue,
from Salamanca to here(Madrid).
The queue comes all the way to here.
And one of the things we are going to do,
because I always feel a bit sad,
when fans sacrifice so much and come 2 hours early to queue,
And to not let them speak, and ask you questions.
So if you don't mind, take a mic and let the fans ask you questions.
C: Oh My God
Start from this side.
We have questions, from the cncowners.
Which is a name that makes you a bit scared,
because the name 'owners' sounds like they own you.
C: Exactly.
E: Let's start nicely (with the questions)
Z: With love.
C: We love you a lot.
What is the question?
Fan: There is a lot of people, including me,
that are going to a lot of concerts here in Spain,
and we are travelling too, we are also going to Milan.
And I wanted to ask how you feel,
about the fanaticism,
And when you see people that you don't know,
who does this kind of things for you?
Good question.
C: Wait, does what?
E: When they do this things for us.
How do you feel when a stranger does so much for you?
Fan: Like travelling.
Z: Oh so those are 2 questions?
C: Oh, 2 questions?
Fan: Well no, just how do you feel when we do stuff like that for you?
C: It feels good, I actually think,
that we dreamed about this from a very young age.
Since I was 6 years old I dreamed about being a singer.
And to be able to accomplish this so fast,
with so many beautiful fans like you,
it's really wonderful to see how sometimes,
we see tears or a smile, thanks to our music.
And that with a photo we can make their day.
For us, being able to do that is incredible.
Sometimes you bring out their parents from their home,
when they are out queueing 3 days early.
More questions?
Fan: How do you feel when a fan has tattooed something,
that is inspired by you?
Like my tattoo, that says CNCO.
She has tattooed your name on her arm.
He too, he is his own fan.
Would of been more beautiful if you had tattooed her name, instead.
C: It would of been like you say here 'Molado'
(Mola= word for Cool, awesome)
C: I said it to her, we also took a photo together.
But when someone does a tattoo,
it also brings out a responsibility, like, this (group) must last.
Z: Yes, of course.
Because there is already a tattoo there.
C: She marked herself for life.
Z: Those are things that motivates us,
it's something wonderful.
There are things that don't have a price,
and that is one of the things.
You need to live this craziness yourself.
C: You can't really put it into words.
More questions?
Fan: What do you think of fans, going to different cities or countries for you?
This is the same question?
Another question?
Fan: First I'm super proud that you are here,
and my question is, how is the coexistence between you,
and are you like brothers now or what?
C: Well, yes.
But in the beginning it was a bit hard, strange,
because we didn't know each other so well.
Right, let's talk about that.
Because you got to know each other through a talent show,
named La Banda.
Where you had Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz as the judges.
And now Ricky Martin,
is your manager.
C: So during the show,
it was a bit strange.
But along the way,
we started to form a kind of friendship.
When we first started doing the live shows.
Because we were less persons.
And that's when the "band" kind of started to form.
Because we had more connection than with the others.
So the public and judges saw this,
and after that we came out as CNCO and the rest is history.
And slowly after living with these guys 24/7,
it's like you know everything about them.
And do you think a lot about the future?
Because I saw a documentary about One Direction,
and they were saying, that they didn't have time for that,
they just wanted to concentrate in what they were doing in that moment.
And to just enjoy right now, because thinking about the future made them a bit dizzy.
To think about what could happen in 10 to 15 years from now.
Z and E: Well
Z: You go.
C: He hasn't spoken
E: We live in moments where we always try to learn and enjoy every minute and second of it.
Because this a very unique and beautiful experience.
And sometimes everything passes by so fast, you didn't even realise what happened.
So we always try to enjoy everything as much as we can.
And if everything turns out well, and we love this,
then we think of being together till infinity and more.
One last question from the fans.
Fan: What do you think of the fans from different countries,
who get to know each other thanks to you guys?
Z: That's cool.
C: Like friendships?
C: I think It's beautiful.
What is the most impressive thing,
a fan has done?
E: Exactly that, that they travel from one country to another just to see us.
J: Actually I saw a Japanese fan on twitter,
and she was coming to Milan to see us.
On a bike. (joke)
J: Well anyhow, it's impressive.
So thank you to all the cncownwers, that are always supporting us.
By the way your song reggaeton lento,
has become a big hit in a lot of countries,
and has been stuck on a lot of peoples minds.
When you first started to work on the song, did you think it was going to be such a hit?
E: In the beginning we all liked it,
and said this song needs to hit it big.
But we never thought it was going to be this big.
We were very surprised.
It has over a billion views on YouTube.
E: And it's said we are the boyband, with the most views on youtube at the moment.
So really, thank you so much. To all the cncowners for your support.
Applause, very good.
And now a question I always ask,
to all the boybands that come to this show.
Before you were a boyband,
was your fashion style always this good?
Because you are all very cool.
Z: Well, if you search a photo,
at least mine.
Z: I really needed this change.
E: No, you don't need to go that far,
just look up our auditions.
E: In the auditions you need to see mine.
C: I liked his little suit,
with a hideous blue shirt.
I'm just looking at you and then at my shirt and think..
C: No, it's cool.
J: I have a shirt like that.
(Sorry can't really understand what the interviewer is trying to explain here)
And our team, that is so amazing,
has found a video with your fashion styles,
before you were CNCO.
Let's see a bit of those styles.
The La Banda auditions.
E: Turn off the sound.
Turn up the sound a bit.
E: No, I said no.
We are now seeing Erick.
E: That's not me.
With a little blue suit, like when you do the first communion.
E: Hey please turn off the sound.
What a voice.
For real, what a beautiful voice.
Very Good.
C: You were just 14 years old, right?
E: 14, yes.
Just 14 years old, and now you are?
E: 16
Incredible, you are now an old man.
C: He has even more facial hair then us.
God, you are between 16 - 21 years old.
E: Oldest, youngest.
C: I'm the oldest(referring to being an old man)
Hehe yeah the oldest.
I really want to give you a smack in the face.
The oldest he says, what are you saving
for when you are, I don't know 38..
C: Ehhhh
Do you see yourselves always working with music?
All: Yes
C: Personally I don't see me doing anything else.
Z: especially when you are so "good" in school.
C: Right, like super "good" at studying.
Z: I think that when you already are in this industry, with all the beautiful things,
it's obviously not perfect.
But it's still so magical and beautiful,
that you would never want to leave.
C: You always wake up with positive energy.
When you know the industry and you want to keep going, then that means you like it.
Z: It's not easy.
C: It also depends on the team you have around you.
And we are blessed to have this team we have right now.
Ricky and all the team that is around here.
Because that makes it a lot easier for us to keep growing.
If you want an advice from an old person,
I would advice you to do
what you are passionate about.
Because then you wont work any day for your whole life.
Well a little bit of work you need to do.
But it's not work.
Every time a huge star comes here,
we like to chat with them about the meaning of their songs.
And in this occasion, we have found a song.
That we have a lot of questions about.
The song is called 'Hasta La 14'
we don't know if it is because the language changes on the other side of the world.
But we didn't understand anything, let's listen.
Stop there.
C: what?
We have the lyrics here.
*reading the lyrics*
What is this?
C: You know this right? Because this is Dominican.
Z: But what is 'wa' ?
R: 'Que lo Wa' and 'Que lo que' is like what up. It's the same thing.
I don't feel we are getting it.
R: They know what it means.
But 'Que lo que' is like, what's up.
ah okay.
C: 'Dime que lo wa' and 'Que lo que' means the same thing.
And 'el coro esta rula'?
R: That means like, it's heavy, it's super good.
Okay.
R: And 'pila de mujeres' means like, a lot of women.
Ahhh Okay, Okay. I get it.
There is also another part that is very confusing.
So lets listen.
C: What?!
Especially yigitigi.
No, just everything, mark everything. There is a lot.
Let's start with 'Hey tamo gevi gevi fresh'
What is a 'gevi fresh'?
R: It's like heavy, like you feel fresh.
Okay.
'Haciendo bolita con la hookah'?
R: When you do like O's with smoke.
Ahhhh smoke rings. Okay.
*reading lyrics*
but then we have 'yigitigi'
R: 'yigitigi' I actually don't know what it is.
That's how far we got.
R: I actually really don't know.
But tell me,
how many hours a day,
are you supposed to be CNCO?
Like how is a normal work day for you?
C: We wake up..
E: Little sleep.
E: A lot of work, Interviews.
E: A lot of meet and greets, shows.
At what time does a work day start for CNCO?
C: It depends, because on the tour with Enrique,
we love to travel with bus, because we can wake up at around 12 to 2pm.
We get to sleep all night, and have time to play monopoly.
But when we have a working day, for example in Mexico,
we need to be ready at 6AM.
E: 6am down stares.
So all ready at 6am?
Z: That's because when you are doing promotions, you really need to work.
C: When it's promo you need to work the most.
You need to work when you do promo,
and you have been suffering through this interview.
Thank You for coming to see us. CNCO. A big round of Applause for this guys.

Farthingales and Things: Fashion in Fiction by Ellen Byerrum - Duration: 6:33.
Hello and welcome back to Fashion Bites! I'm Ellen Byerrum, author of the screwball
noir Crime of Fashion Mysteries featuring Lacey Smithsonian, a fashion
reporter in Washington DC, The City That Fashion Forgot. Today I'm wondering
whether you pay attention to descriptions of clothes in books and
literature. I certainly do, and I have some examples that I like. Many people do
not care about descriptions of clothing in literature, but there are a lot of us
who do, because clothes can tell you about a character's social standing,
whether or not they have money, and their mood, as well as many other things.
I'm disappointed if the clothing descriptions are missing and they often
are in men's thrillers. I feel cheated. If Cinderella goes to the ball, I want to
know what she's wearing, and I want to be able to picture her gown and see the
mice who stitched it. I have a few examples of descriptions of clothing
from various sources: from a play, a poem and a book. Descriptions don't have to be
extravagant or as poetic as Shakespeare in this first example, from "The Taming of
the Shrew." Forget about the fact that Petruchio is a cruel jerk and just
listen to the words, that are quite sensuous, and it's all about the clothes--
and more. "And now, my honey love, will we return unto thy father's house and revel
it as bravely as the best, with silken coats and caps and golden rings, with
ruffs and cuffs and farthingales and things, with scarfs and fans and double
change of bravery, with amber bracelets beads and all this knavery. What, hast thou
dined? The tailor stays thy leisure to deck thy body with his ruffling treasure!"
William Shakespeare. We know Kate and Petruchio are going home in style and
they are wasting no time, because he has already engaged the tailor. Of course you
have to read it to see what happens after that, or go see a version of the
play, they're all quite different. The next description is from "The Highwayman"
by Alfred Noyes, who is a favorite of teenage girls. It tells you about the
title character, that he's dashing, impeccable, and that his clothes are
costly, and with his jeweled weapons he's practically announcing
his profession. "He had a French cocked hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at
his chin, a coat of the claret velvet and breeches of brown doe skin. They fitted
with never a wrinkle, his boots were up to the thigh, and he rode with a jeweled
twinkle, his pistol butts a-twinkle, his rapier hilt a-twinkle, under the jeweled
sky." Quite an image! Now, because fashions reflect the times, fashion descriptions
in books can tell you about the society and mores, as well as one's position in
society. In "The Crocodile on the Sandbank," the first book in the Amelia
Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters, a wealthy English spinster is dying for
adventure and she becomes an Egyptologist, in the course of all the
books. She has been restricted by her clothing, as well as by her position. In
this scene, Amelia Peabody decides to wear a
radical garment. "As the reader has no doubt realized, female fashion has
never interested me. However, while in London I had learned of
the Rational Dress League and had a dress made in that style. It was of
slate-coloured India cloth with a plain, almost mannish bodice and a few simple
frills at the cuffs as its only ornament. But the daring feature of this
costume was the divided skirt. The two legs were so full that they resembled an
ordinary kilted skirt and did not give me nearly the freedom of action I
desired, but they were a good deal more practical than the so-called 'walking
dresses' then in vogue. I had kept this garment at the very
bottom of my trunk. In Cairo I had not quite the courage to wear it. Now I took
it out, shook out the wrinkles and creases, and put it on!" Amelia Peabody
is ready for action here. I have one more example, not because it's extravagant, but
because even though it is a very simple description of a dress, from my book
KILLER HAIR, you can see how I use the occasional dress in my own collection
for my inspiration for my characters. Clothing defines us in our lives and in
books. It gives us courage, as this dress did for Lacey Smithsonian in KILLER
HAIR. Lacey worries about what to wear to a meeting with the FBI.
"Lacey wore a dark blue crepe dress circa 1942 that always made her look good
and feel in control. It had a V-neck and three-quarter sleeves. A splash of bright
embroidered flowers on the left shoulder and right hip took it out of the
ordinary. She hoped it would work today." This passage points out the importance
of feeling confident in your clothes. That can make all the difference in how
you feel and how you meet difficult circumstances. Clothes can be your suit
of armor. Now, I want to point out that this dress is mine, from my own clothing
collection, and I love the details. A reader paid me the supreme compliment
of taking this dress as inspiration and making her own version of the Lacey Blue
Dress. If I'd known that, I might have been a bit more elaborate in my
description of the dress. But wow! If anybody else is making dresses based on
Lacey's clothes, do let me know! That's all I have for now. If you like this

That way you won't miss any. And feel free to comment and share the video. It's

JANUARY FAVES 2018 ( skincare, Ulta, cosmetics, fashion, and more!) - Duration: 15:00.
everyone welcome back to my channel so today I'm going to be doing my current
favorites I wouldn't say like monthly favorites
because some of these I got like in the middle of January so I'm just gonna talk
to you guys that stuff I've been liking so I'm gonna do the beauty stuff first
yeah out of the way and then everything else I vote to the big end one quick
thing before we get into the video YouTube has seen just monetization
things like I mentioned in my previous video if you guys have not seen that I
will link it at the end and down below they're changing their monetization so
February 20th I will be getting be monetized unless I get to a thousand
subscribers so I don't foresee that happening in 20 days so just so you guys
know what's going on and the other thing is that if you are subscribed to me and
you I haven't not clicked a notification bell or if you're going to subscribe to
me please do make sure you hit subscribe and then you hit the notification bell
hit it again and you'll give you your options because some people are still
only getting highlights and not realizing I'm posting videos I always
post on Instagram when I post a video but in case I don't that is the best way
to know that I did also there's a Twitter again all these social media
links will be listed down below but again I'm trying to get my content out
there and YouTube is just making it harder and harder and harder for small
youtubers to do that so make sure you click the bell or if you have already
make sure you click it again and make sure you get all notifications it's not
going to give you notifications if I comment on the video I like something
it's just gonna tell you I post other than that I think that's it
also make sure if you are watching this video right now and especially if you
are on mobile go to your settings there should be like a little if you click on
the screen there should be like a little gear right about here or here depending
on which corner on side click on that and make sure that your quality settings
or to 180 P because that's why I fell min and that's gonna give you the best
quality on my videos you can do this with other people too it usually sets it
to auto and it's 480 and that's why people videos might not look as good as
they're supposed to go so I think that is all of my low YouTube disclaimers
let's get into the real reason why you're here so let's start with palates
I've been loving to palates this year so far so the two ballots I have been
loving all right the Too Faced chocolate gold we should look like this I have it
should be gold on it and these are some of the colors I don't know if I've
showed this in another video or not I think I did but I have used it quite a
bit because on my Instagram I'm doing a
hundred days of makeup again and I believe it down below so you can go
check it out and make sure you follow me so that you don't miss any of the looks
this week has been DC supervillains and next week is DC Super Heroes so make
sure you check that out yeah it has a really nice payoff some of
the other two based palettes I haven't been as impressed with like I really
like the semi-sweet but like the white chocolate i swatched in the store and it
wasn't great so this one I was really happy that it
turned out to be amazing I love the metallics and foil yeah I just it has a
good mix of mats and metals or metallics but it's super
pretty and I love it sorry I keep blinding you like the
lighting is really weird and I have the blinds closed but I have some stuff
blocking so it doesn't I don't know it's like all of us but anyway the next
palette is one that you guys have seen before I've talked about it is the
makeup revolution or flawless the resurrection 3 palette and it has the
rose gold on it it looks like this you guys can see I've dipped into quite a
few colors this is what I used to do this makeup look today I used these
three kind of warm oranges like burnt sienna colors this gold and then this
kind of skintone color here but I have used the white before and some of the
other shadows I've just really started playing with my palettes more and I am
on a no-buy I am trying to get through at least like a border of my makeup
collection so that I can you know get rid of some stuff so yeah there is that
the next vu d related things are from Jeffrey star
you guys didn't know I think I found the hall and then didn't end up putting it
up because it was like really bad but I got a whole bunch of jeffree star
cosmetics I got some of the old stuff some of the new stuff so these are the
four liquid lips I have been loving the first one is from his summer collection
I want to say is Breakfast at Tiffany's there's a picture of me wearing this on
Instagram and this one so this one is from whatever collection smelled like
root beer float if you guys are average JSC collectors you'll probably know I
need to smell it all day my friend Rachel got me into these so shout out to
her because she bought them I was telling me like you need to buy these
you need try them and she's alright I also got
skin frost I'll probably do a haul with them and swatches for you guys but this
one I got on sale I only buy them when they're on sale because they are a
little pricey but I got this one during the red white and green sale and I love
it I'm not wearing a different star right now this is color pop Viper and I
don't ever remember it being this color so I think it may be like kind of turned
but I love it so moving on I got the entire star family collection because I
have impulsive and the whole thing was on sale for like 34 dollars and no I do
not buy fake jeffree star cosmetics from Walmart don't do that
your lips will fall off and I love this color I've wore it in one of my videos
this is Dimond and these ones don't have a scent
no he's not just smell like lipstick which I'm surprised that there wasn't
like a special scent like the blue raspberry or something like that I am
gonna buy some of the little lovesick collection and the blood sugar palette I
really want to get the cherry cola lip scrub and the next one is also from meat
star family collection and this is Nathan
I wasn't sure like because the swatches online and like how it looks on the DOE
foot I thought it might be kind of an awkward color on my skin but I wore it
trying to think of what makeup look it was for a hundred days of make
and the last one I've been living is crocodile tears it's this dark green and
again this one doesn't have a smell but it's a super dark green and I'm going to
be using it for Halloween I've been practicing my looks so I tried this why
not for one of my it's gonna be super cool okay so moving on with beauteous I
have talked about this before I know it's probably like three or four videos
but again it has come through it is the Clearasil ultra acne marks treatment
lotion if you guys didn't see my previous video I did get some facials
done and I had a lot of like extractions spots all over my chin on my forehead
and around my face like I still have some of them I don't know if you can see
with my makeup and stuff but I wanted them to heal a little bit faster so that
they didn't look so red and inflamed and this stuff really helps reduce that if
you have cystic acne it definitely takes out the redness it doesn't cure it but
it gets really deep down in there and works really well to repair your marks
without drying them out and making them like flaky patches it just moisturizes
them and brings them down really nice the last two beauty items I got like in
the middle of the month so I mean I bought them in January at the beginning
of the month I don't know what I got but there are the Mario Badescu
facial sprays I am late to the train as always the only one I don't have is
lavender I have the cucumber and green tea and aloe and then the rose water and
aloe again I got these because my aesthetician recommended that I get
something to put on my face to kind of protect my skin from the city
and the pollution so I got if V is to kind of wake up my skin and stuff with
all the other because sometimes when you put stuff on your face it can take away
some of the glow so I got these to kind of settle my skin down I know I sprayed
this one on after a few hours after my facial and it calmed down the redness a
lot so yeah these are awesome I put this one on at night and this one on during
the day or sometimes I'll do like a little cocktail of them both let's see
alright so that is the oh no eye line so I have really been liking the total
tease mascara from covergirl I know I said it before that it sucked and it was
terrible and I regretted buying it and I wanted to throw it away but I didn't I
let it dry out a little not like dry out like with the cap off but just kind of
sitting in my collection drying out like a mascara does it works much better now
so if you get it and you're not sure when you want to try it maybe open it up
like break the seal and if you guys don't know what I'm talking about it's
the one with the brush that has like the little teasing brush which I still
understand how to use but whatever so yeah girl drugstore good stuff I really
like it now though and it makes my lashes really long I have it on today
and I've worn it the last like two or three photos I've done on Instagram so
there's that all right now moving on to random stuff I have been trying to make
my dorm a little bit more homey trying to get some decorations up I do have a
lot of my vinyl figures or my calendars and my posters but that still didn't
take up a lot of the space in here so I have been printing out coloring
pages and if I know who the artist is I would give credit where credit is due
but I wanted to show you guys some other stuff I've been working on so I don't
know where this one came from it's just like ones I find on Pinterest and print
there is like a watermark on this one so you guys can see it's a girl standing on
some rocks and she's like waterbending if you watch like Avatar but I just
thought it was really cool my whole theme is like warrior princess a Greek
mythology Halloween God is I print it out the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
and I already have war on my wall but I am working on pestilence I think is what
short minute tell me how to say cuz I didn't even know these were the Four
Horsemen of the Apocalypse until Sean said something but these ones
are by deviant art that one and this one I cut out and I think I cut the
watermark off on accident but it is poison ivy and then let's see I have
some other things I've just been doing these because I love coloring and I get
stressed out and I can just like same color a clothing item that has been my
favorite is one of these bad boys here onesie because January was so freakin
cold and when I was on break I went through like this three-day mood of not
wanting to wear real clothes or a pant or anything so I put these on and
they're super warm and the last two things kind of go together I got the
diffuser for Christmas just looks like this and it will light up it usually
plugs in so like won't do anything right now but this is to diffuse essential
oils because I want to sleep better so I put lavender in it and it's really nice
I just like to make my room smell good I'll put the sweet orange in but I have
been using this and even just the humming helps me sleep and it
smell really good and calms me down and it's a wonderful my aunt and uncle got
me that for Christmas and then with that I use this little fan that my grandma
gave me I put it behind the diffuser and then I go like this and it will like
distribute the paper throughout the room oh I think that's it
this is pretty quick I didn't want to just add like dumb stuff oh the other
thing that I don't have with me that I've been loving is my Chrissy Teigen
cookbook but my grandma got me I made like four it's pretty good it's good
stuff so that is it for me I am going to have more videos for you guys up this
week because I have a chance to film today and I will see you guys next time
bye

One Legged Model Walks at New York Fashion Week - Duration: 5:03.
Hey B, did you ever think you could have been a model?
No. Good.
Anyways this guy is a model, he was the first
amputee to walk London fashion week, New York fashion week, Milan fashion week
Paris fashion week, this guy has walked all over the world
I'm still working on New York fashion week.
You'll never get there. You'll never get there.
But check him out because he has.
when I see photos of myself as a model, I'm very proud, I'm always very proud
Jack Eyers has been challenging stereotypes as a catwalk model and cover star
with a difference.
I was the first amputee to walk on New York fashion week catwalk
from that I then went to Milan fashion week
London fashion week, that was really good, it's been a good career so far
the strangest thing for me, was when I was on the front cover of mens health
that was literally my life long dream
even as a kid at school I was like yeah I'd love to be on that
October 2015 I made it!
Jack was born with two legs, but struggles with a degenerative condition
called proximal femoral focal deficiency
PFFD is a congenital condition that I was born with in my right leg
it's basically a deficiency in the femur, the femur didn't develop properly
the muscle structure didn't develop properly either
the knee joint didn't develop properly and the hip joint didn't develop either so
it was a dead leg
growing up with a disability it massively effected my confidence, massively
I'd try and hide it anyway I could, it was awful, I had no inspiration
I was alone, fashion was out the window as well
I'd wear two pairs of trousers just to cover my leg, hoodie over my head
the consultants told me, the doctors said I had to finish growing before they would even
think about the measurements of amputating my leg
then when I was 16 I electively had it amputated, I chose to have it amputated
totally my choice, best decision I've ever made as well
after his amputation Jack got into fitness
and eventually starting working as a personal trainer
I became a personal trainer by chance really, I was a youth worker
and I was put onto a course which was just exercise in the community
and I just really enjoyed it
Jack is very fit, he's fitter than me definitely
we went swimming a couple of times at one of the fitness centers
and I was amazed at how much fitter he was at swimming than me
I thought I was pretty fit but he's very good
I find the job very rewarding, the success stories
is what keeps me motivated to keep personal training
he's stronger than most people, in the gym when we're training, you don't think about it
and it's not really, it doesn't hold him back at all
eventually I want to focus on just working with amputees
because I think I can really offer them something sort of special
Jack works with the charity models for diversity
which campaigns for more variety in the fashion industry
as well as supporting models in their careers
I'm sure there are occasions where I've been
singled out or treated slightly differently because of
because of the leg, because of the amputation, or even prior to the amputation
I'm that sort of guy, I'm quite blunt
if I feel like I'm being singled out I'd probably just tell you, I'd say
I'm very upfront about my leg as well, ask me whatever question you want I don't mind
I never thought that I would ever be a model
I didn't even think it was an opportunity for me
so I've set myself a couple of bit goals for this year
I want to get signed by a modeling agency
I'd like to get a contract, I think it's about time
I think the biggest thing that needs to change in the modeling industry
to assure there's more diversity is, use more diverse models
Being a disabled model, I guess you do have to work harder
you do have to work harder than most other models because you'd got a lot to prove
one of our closest friends is actually a woman named Mandy Lieveld
who is a runway coach for models
and one of the things that she teaches her students and clients
is confidence. You think about somebody like Jack, whose missing his leg
for him to have that fortitude to become a runway model
I think a lot of people could learn a lesson from someone like him
and over here in the comments we'll actually link to a video we did with her
on models walking blindfolded, so check that out as well
