Hey guys, this is Mehak with team MissMalini

and I am in the city that never sleeps

for the most anticipated week of the year,

New York Fashion Week!

We have a first ever collaboration

between two Indian-born power houses,

Narayan Jewellers and ace-designer, Bibhu Mohaptra.

Follow us for backstage access

of where all the magic happens.

So, what sparked this collaboration?

This collection was not going to be complete

without elements of diamonds that is

really the signature of strength, power

and courage and so in longevity and

because diamonds do last forever so

this is how it started and we

unfortunately, we didn't have that much time

but they did a tremendous amount

of job in coming up with in lines of the

inspiration of the collection and

that is so modern and it's traditional

at the same time with incredible craft.

What we showed is a delicate balance of

modernity in this really incredible

ancient tradition of craft, that this

family has been carrying on for over 100 years,

so it is a true honor for me to be

associated with Narayan Jewellers

thanks to Forevermark.

What was your inspiration behind this New York Fashion Week specific capsule collection?

See, in this entire New York Fashion Week collection

what we have worked on is more of this celestial theme

The Cosmic Collection which is sun, moon, stars

and lot of elements of nature including water elements some stars.

So the nature inspired and the

inspiration also reflects or mirrors

Bibhu's philosophy into the collection

because Bibhu is also into an Artemis collection

which is based on the similar themes.

What's one piece of jewellery that you think every girl should have?

Earrings, that meets the complete look of a woman. So from my point of view,

Ya obviously, very.

Check out this stunning four finger ring that I'm wearing!

Which I would say that some elements,

flowers and floral motif, but you tell me about it.

See this has got two important motifs of the nature

which is a floral as well as the teardrop

diamonds which is basically the water.

So water and flower these are two

major elements which has been

highlighted into this piece, and the

concept is completely a multiple finger ring.

So it's a statement ring with

I think this must be having something

around 1,200 to 1,500 diamonds on it.

Guys, I'm wearing 1,500 diamonds!

One Bollywood celebrity who you want to design for?

Not really. It doesn't hit my mind, no.

But yes if you ask me in terms of brand aspirations,

I want to build my brand

where probably the world aspires to one of these.

I think that's what I'm looking at.

And we're really excited to see the pieces on the models.

We're equally excited thank you so much. Thank you.

Primark fashion and beauty haul (try-on) • September - Duration: 6:58.

Hi guys it's Susan and welcome back to my channel, if you're new here don't

forget to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up. So as you can tell I'm with

a friend. Lisa: hi guys. and we went shopping we didn't go

shopping together, however we would really love to show you what we bought.

We went to Primark, I also went to Bershka and I went to Only, yeah so.

We're gonna show you what we got, so we're starting off with the jewelry

and beauty products. First of all I got this sunglasses they were on sale so I

wouldn't be needing them in this season but they were nice.

Lise: they're really nice, I love the like gold. They're cute. And the were only two Euro's.

well I bought the most basic thing ever, I bought like hair elastics from Primark.

and about them because those are the only ones that won't snap immediately

when I put them in my hair, because I have quite thick hair. So I got some more items

on sale. I bought these two chokers and they

were only one Euro. So; simple and cute. And I bought also an eyelash curler

because I have same one but it's like faded after like a year of using I was like

I need a new one right now. Then I decided to buy some earrings and I kind

of bought a lot. I got these ones for only one Euro oh and I also got these

super cool stars yeah I think they are kind of like tough

girl and cute at the same time I also got

these I don't know they're simple but very cute

then last but not least I got this huge set it has ~okay let me see~ nine pair of earrings

and it only costs four Euros they only have these in gold by the way while I

was strolling around in the beauty section and Susan apped me and said oh my god you

need to take a look at the (face)masks that they have, and I took a look and I

bought three different masks. At first I bought the holler and glow royal prep

calming mask, and it's like with like a princess crown thingy. And I thought this is really

cute I'm really curious about how it will look on my face. I think its gonna be funny. Then I bought another

facial mask wich is called perrrfect skin, which is like with a leopard, a blue

leopard print and this is for smoothing I bought matching perfect skin deep

hydrating and smoothing treatment mask for my hands so I will have to facial

and hand mask. So before we move on to clothing we have one more item it's

accessory kind of thing so. I bought 'fashion tights' as PrimarkI calls them, it's

kind of a fisnet panty, but it's not like with huge distance

between the holes, and I really like to wear this with like a bit longer black

dress and then my overknee boots so you see a tiny bit of it. So then we have

arrived the fashion department and I got this super cool jacket it was

25 Euros and I'm really excited to show you.

So it's this one it doesn't fit on camera but will show the 'try on'

footage. It's black denim and it has a white fur like sheep, fur-ish, well

obviously it's fake fur, fake sheep thing. But it's a bit oversized and it's a bit

longer than a normal one but it's not a long-long one (if you know what I mean)

I really love the fitting. The sheep goes all the way here but and the sleeves are without

the sheep. but then here in the end you have a little bit for show. I think it's

more for show, yeah. So I'm really excited to wear this one

it's a bit too warm now to wear this, but so excited. And it's quite funny

because I actually bought the exact same jacket.

I like to wear oversized jackets and I was looking for something that would

keep me warm in the winter. I like it it's a bit tough looking for me.

Like 'bad gurl' streetstyle. Oh and the 'sheep' is 100% polyester. So we both got some pants.

I got mine at Bershka. This ripped jeans, it's a mom jeans and it has a

built-in fishnet. Uhm, so this ripped jeans trend is new for me

and I don't feel like I'm ready to commit to the fishnet

trend. You have to right now. No I made sure when I bought this jeans that I can

remove the fishnet. It's really easy to remove from the inside, so I'm gonna

remove it. Yeah? Yeah. I'm not ready to commit to this trend yet, I think that

the ripped jeans trend is new enough for me. You've been rocking the ripped jeans for

ages. Since it became a trend I was like okay I'm gonna wear that. Yeah I

wasn't ready, now I am. Finally. But not ready for the

fishnet yet. So this super cool mom jeans. I bought one pair of pants at Only. I

walked in and saw this pair of black pants with on the sides stripes.

I call it the Kylie jeans, the Kylie pants. I call it that way.

Kylie Jenner, she wears thath. Really? I did not know that. Yeah, thats why I want one. I did not even know that.

I have quite big upper thighs, so I needed some fabric that is elastic.

I fit me on my hips and my legs, and I finally foudna pair. So then I also

bought this sweater at Pull&Bear and you might recognize this one from my

fall lookbook. If you haven't seen it yet I will put it up there so you should

check it out yeah. I made it, so really check it out. Yeah she filmed it.

So that is everything that we bought. I hope you enjoyed this Primark haul

slash Bershka, Pull&Bear, Only. So yeah please leave a comment down below which

item is your favorite and also don't forget to give this video a thumbs up

and to subscribe to my channel and that's it yeah that's it so I'll see you

in the next video bye

2017 Future of Fashion show - Duration: 30:46.

Please take your seat.

Welcome to the Future of Fashion, featuring the 2017 graduates' collection.

Please welcome to the stage to the president of the Fashion Institute of

Technology, Dr. Joyce F. Brown.

[applause]

Good evening.

Good evening and welcome. It really is my

pleasure to be able to welcome you to FIT's annual runway show, "The Future of

Fashion." With this show, we celebrate the work of very gifted students--a group

of graduating fashion design students. They are among the 10,000 full- and

part-time students who attend FIT today. And you know, despite the name of this

college, fashion design is not our only program. I try to make this point

wherever I go, because in fact we offer such a rich and comprehensive array of

programs. There's almost 50 of them in fact. And all of them prepare our

students for careers in the creative industries, either on the design or on

the business side. And they range from cosmetics marketing to computer

animation, toy design to textile development, photography to fashion

business management. However, our signature, our signature is

fashion design. It's our calling card, not only here in New York, but all over the

world: in Thailand and Turkey and China and Italy...all those places. Their

educational institutions call upon us to provide expertise to their developing

fashion programs, so when people think of fashion education they think of FIT.

It's here that such fashion luminaries as Calvin Klein and Dennis Basso and

Francisco and Nanette Lepore and Michael Kors and Norma Kamali, Isabel Toledo,

Ralph Rucci, ever so many more--they all got their start right here. Our students

spend their time here refining and developing their

individual design talents and sensibilities under the guidance of FIT's

committed faculty and tonight they demonstrate all that they have learned.

But before we begin I want to take a moment to thank our very elite group of

critics and judges who gave so much of their personal time and expertise to our

students as they developed our collections. Our critics this year were

Peter Do from Derek Lam, Chris Gelinas, Flora Gill from Ohne Titel, Sander Lake

from Sies Marjan, Victoria Lambourne from Tory Burch, Morgan Lane, Erin Rechner from

WGSN, Karen Sabag from Karen Sabag Couture, Sophie Theallet, and Isabella Tonchi. Our

judges were Ken Downing from Neiman Marcus; Kemal Harris, the celebrity

stylist; Nicole Phelps, director of Vogue Runway; Diana

Tsui from New York Magazine; and Liliana Vasquez, TV stylist and host. Each and

every one of our judges and critics is truly a great great friend of FIT and a

great source of inspiration for our students and I'm very proud to say that

some of them are alums. So we are very grateful to you for

taking on what I know was a time-consuming task, but you did it all

so graciously and willingly and we so appreciate that. I want to offer special

thanks to Calvin Klein. Calvin is an FIT alum whose devotion to our students and

their success and to this runway show has really been exceptional. It's thanks

to the generosity of his personal foundation the Calvin Klein Family

Foundation and to Calvin Klein incorporated that our runway show has

the support it needs for many years to come. Calvin Klein Incorporated is one

of our longtime friends, a company that has employed many of our alumni and they

provide priceless internships to our students as well and it's really quite

clear that their leaders understand the link between education and industry and

we are very very grateful to them for their

support. I want to also thank Optimity Advisers, our innovation sponsor, indeed a

new sponsor that specializes in the field of innovation and for my money one

of their most impressive innovations is available right in your hands. It's the

Future of Fashion app. You download it, and if you followed the directions of

your augmented reality experience with Liliana Vazquez, I hope you all did that,

the app will allow you to connect with any of the student designers whose

garments you see tonight. We believe this is the first in the world of runway

shows so we say a great big thank you to Optimity for that. We're grateful to

Chico's, a longtime friend whose sponsorship this year brought us the

video that we saw before the show and last, but never least, I want to

greet our students alumni and FIT fans-- hundreds of thousands of them everywhere--

to whom we are live-streaming this show in real time along with Vogue Runway. So

a big hi, a big shout out out there, and now I thank you all again for being here

with us tonight and let's get on with this show.
