'The Unit' reveals how many contestants will survive after upcoming first open recording According to reports on September 26, KBS2's upcoming idol rebooting project 'The Unit' has determined how many contestants will survive after the first open recording, taking place on September 29, 30, and October 1.

The numbers will be divided into 63 males and 63 females. Word from insiders is that the first round auditions will involve approximately 100 male and 100 female contestants.
This indicates a little less than half of the contestants will face elimination in the first round. Afterward, the remaining 126 will divide into 14 teams of 9 members, to carry out performance missions.
