Emmerdale's Maya Stepney is once again proving her control over Jacob Gallagher's life as she continued with her twisted plan in tonight's episode

Viewers have seen that Maya (Louisa Clein) has been grooming 15-year-old Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) for some time now, but the teen recently ended things between them, leaving the schoolteacher to continue her dark games from the sidelines

Advertisement - Continue Reading Below And in tonight's episode (February 5), viewers witnessed Maya's struggle to deal with her jealousy when Jacob went on a date with Liv in a bid to make up for his terrible behaviour towards her recently

Jacob messed up his and Liv's friendship pretty badly when he lied and said that he was in a sexual relationship with her, meaning that he also managed to anger Liv's brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) with his lies too

And, when Maya found out Jacob and Liv were together tonight, she used Aaron's anger against Jacob and soon told him that Jacob was with Liv at Mill Cottage tonight

While the teens were enjoying their time together, it looked like their relationship was improving again when Liv opened up about her asexuality, and Jacob shared his support and acceptance

But later on, Maya acted as if she didn't already know that Liv was back at the house with Jacob when she casually asked Aaron at the pub why he didn't take out his sister

To Aaron's knowledge, Liv had stayed home to study and as Maya was pretending that it was none of her business, she ended up telling Aaron and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) that Jacob was actually at Mill Cottage with Liv

Advertisement - Continue Reading Below This, of course, sent Aaron back home, and it wasn't long before he got angry when he saw the teens cuddled up together and chucked Jacob out, telling him to stay away from his sister – all of which left Maya pretty pleased with how her plan had worked out

Clearly, viewers at home have had enough of Maya's twisted games, though: Future spoilers show that Maya's plan may not necessarily go the way she wants it to as she decides to leave the village – does this mark the beginning of the end of her sly game?Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays

Escape the Dark Castle Review // Tabletop Hub - Duration: 4:17.

Today we're going to be reviewing Escape the Dark Castle from Themeborne, right after

this.

Hey everyone Sam here from the Tabletop Hub, your one stop shop for all things tabletop

and today, as mentioned, we're reviewing Escape the Dark Castle from Themeborne but

before we jump into that if you're new here to the channel, thank you so much for taking

some time out of your day to check out one of my videos, if you end up liking what you

see here fo feel free to subscribe to be kept up to date of when new videos go live.

So, what is Escape the Dark Castle? Well the premise for the game is that you and your

fellow players take on the role of prisoners on a quest to escape from the dungeons of

the castle. You travel from room to room, working together to defeat enemies and survive

the horrors that face you on the way. The game itself takes about 2 minutes to set up,

it can last around 30 minutes and it is perfect for newcomers to tabletop gaming; it really

is a game for everyone, I played a game with my wife and my 60 year old Dad who wasn't

so sure about it at first glance because it looked a bit too 'nerdy,' fast forward

10 minutes and he was screaming through gritted teeth as we were brutally murdered by the

final boss.

A scream that was very swiftly followed with….can we play again?

And that's what you'll find with Escape the Dark Castle, it's addictive, it's

fun but it's incredibly punishing.

So, lets talk gameplay. At the start of the game each player chooses which character they'll

play as. There are no fantastical heroes in this game, no muscly knights astride a horse,

instead you'll be playing….the cook, or the smith, or the tanner. People who are really

quite unremarkable…kind of like you Sam I hear you remark…

Each character has stats etched into the wall behind them consisting of might, wisdom and

cunning and this equally correlates to that characters dice which we'll talk about later.

On your first game you'll find yourself choosing the character who you think looks

the coolest or who's beard looks like a pair of droopy testicles for example but once

you understand how brutal this game is you'll forgo appearances and instead try and find

a balance between the differing stats of the characters to make sure each ability is well

represented. It's kind of like swapping from a Tinder mindset to an e-Harmony one.

Once you've chosen your character the adventure begins and you start working your way through

the castle deck, facing off against a number of varied challenges as you do so. Sometimes

you'll be asked to make a decision, other times you'll have no choice but to fight.

When you do need to fight you'll find that your enemies have symbols on the bottom of

their card, correlating to what you and your fellow prisoners need to roll to defeat them.

You remove any dice that match what the players rolled but if the enemy has any black dice

remaining, they're not dead and will attack any player who hasn't managed to roll a

shield and block.

To make matters worse if any one players health reaches zero…it's game over.

If however you manage to fight your way through the castle, picking up loot and mouldy bread

along the way, you'll face off against one of the bosses who will be the only thing standing

against you and freedom…and trust me, they're tough.

Escape the Dark Castle has a lot in common with cult gameshow Takeshi's Castle, everyone

plays to have a good time but by the end you're battered, bruised and if you do manage to

get to the final stage you realise that the only real winner here is the game itself which

only adds to the momentous feeling of achievement whenever you do manage to beat the boss and

make it out of the castle alive.

I've played quite a few games of Escape the Dark Castle already and I have to say,

I couldn't recommend it enough. It's quick, it's super fun, it has a great deal of replayability

and it has a great style to it. To top it all off you can play the whole game solo too.

If you love things like D&D, HeroQuest, Warhammer Quest or even Stranger Things on Netflix I

think you'll fall in love with this. The folks at Themeborne equally just released

three narrative expansions for the game too adding new characters, new castle cards and

new bosses to fight against.

If you want to pick up the game for yourself I'll leave a link down in the video description

where you can find it on Themebornes site but that's it for todays video. If you have

enjoyed it, feel free to subscribe for future content but until next time have a great week

and I'll speak to you soon.

"Absurd" Dark Comedy About 17th Century Puppeteers: 'Judy and Punch' | Sundance - Duration: 3:01.

- [Interviewer] Now first, obviously huge congratulations

to Mirrah on your feature directorial debut.

I think a round of applause is in order for you.

- Thanks.

(clapping) - Yep.

- [Interviewer] Can you give us quick pitch

about what your film is about?

- Still haven't nailed this one.

(laughing)

It's like a dark 17th century fable about puppeteers.

It's kind of an absurd dark comedy.

(upbeat music)

- I always want to do something, I haven't done before

and then, this just was something that I hadn't read before.

It wad such an unusual tone,

being quite incredibly kind of tragic and sad,

and then also making you laugh a lot.

- Initially just such a page turner of a script.

One of the best scripts I've ever read.

The role is incredible.

Getting to work with these two.

There's no reason to not want to do this film.

- There's this incredibly dark moment that

if you where to describe it, anyone would be like

"Oh, shit, that sounds awful." But then sort of the way

that it's been contextualized in the movie,

it is awful but then you're also kind

of so shocked you're laughing.

I think that's what the film does the whole time.

You don't quite know whether you're going to cry or laugh.

- And the whole look and feel of the film

has a very fairytale vibe to it too.

Which I think makes those slapstick moments work as well.

Mia's character is so kind of grounded in a real place

that it, and her performances that it kind of provides

are a way for the audience to kind of see this world

through her eyes, I think.

- I mean, I really love movies that sort of side swipe me

that when I think I'm seeing something and all of a sudden

it turns into something else.

I find that really exciting in the cinemas and

I find it really interesting to do that to an audience.

I enjoy it when that happens to me.

- [Interviewer] I guess Mia and Damon

what was your immediate reaction

to seeing that in the script?

- Oh, yeah.

I don't know.

I do feel like "Fuck this (muffled talking)."

(laughing)

- What is this shit?

- Put it away.

Took me a minute to kind of recalibrate and come back.

- I think it was, for me, it was probably similar

to what it's like to see it.

Although, seeing it is even more affective.

But just I think I was gobsmacked

I'm sure my jaw did literally drop.

But then I was like "Wow, this is,

"where is this going to go now."

That's the thing with this film.

That there's always something new happening

that's unexpected.

It's got so many great twists and turns.

- [Interviewer] Are you guys ready for our

ring toss challenge?

- Yes.

- Uh, very close. - So close.

- Right.

(laughing)

- That's actually not bad.

(laughing)

(shouting)

- Wow.

- [Actress] You totally got one on the thing.

- Do we still get to use the rest?

- That means I win.

(laughing)

- Oh, no, that's so unfair.

- [Director] I was reveling in my own glory.

(shouting)

- Twice.

(upbeat music)

Dark Energy Seems To Be Changing Over Time. Leading To A Big Rip? - Duration: 10:43.

Astronomers working with the NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory and ESA's XMM-Newton have

developed a technique to watch quasars and track the expansion of the Universe over the

last 9 billion years.

What they found is that the mysterious dark energy that's currently accelerating the

expansion of the Universe doesn't appear to be a fixed amount.

It's changing, and appears to be increasing over time.

If true, it's a groundbreaking discovery in cosmology, and it could just fortel the

end of the Universe.

Time for a quick backgrounder.

Then we'll get into the new observations.

Back in 1998, astronomers were trying to measure the expansion rate of the Universe to try

and predict what the future would hold.

They assumed that the mutual gravity of everything in the Universe would decelerate the expansion

into the far future.

Would it slow to a halt and then reverse, eventually leading to a Big Crunch?

Would its expansion continue to slow down until finally coming to a stop at an infinite

amount of time?

Or would it just keep on expanding, never coming to a halt, ever?

In order to get to the bottom of this question, astronomers observed a very specific kind

of supernova, known as a Type 1a.

These happen when a white dwarf star pulls material from a companion until it reaches

about 1.4 times the mass of the Sun.

Then it explodes as a supernova.

Because the supernova happens with a specific amount of mass, the explosion releases a specific

amount of energy.

Measure the brightness of a Type 1a supernova, and you know how far away it happened.

Astronomers charted out the brightness of these supernovae, trying to get a sense of

the size of the Universe at various times in its history, and it turned out the answer

was: none of the above.

The expansion of the Universe isn't slowing down, in fact, it's speeding up.

The expansion of the Universe is accelerating.

As a placeholder for this strange nature of the expansion of the Universe, astronomers

came up with the term dark energy.

They didn't know what it was, and still don't, but it appears to be some kind of

mysterious repulsive force that appears in every single part of space.

The more space there is, the more of this repulsive force that appears in the Universe.

Shortly after dark energy was discovered, astronomers came up with a new question.

Is this dark energy a constant force, or has it actually been changing over the history

of the Universe?

Imagine a cubic meter of space, and a tiny amount of pressure pushing out.

As the Universe expanded, the total amount of dark energy grew, but it was assumed that

the total force in each cubic meter remained the same.

But what if the force was actually changing?

What if it was increasing?

Billion of years ago, was the pressure half what it is today?

Will it be twice as strong in the future?

The answer to the question is actually pretty important, as it foretells the ultimate fate

of the Universe.

If this force is constant, then the Universe will continue to accelerate apart.

Galaxy superclusters will be carried away from each other, dropping off over the cosmic

horizon.

But for regions which are relatively close together, like individual galaxies, stars

within the galaxy, etc, gravity is the dominant force.

Dark energy can push away all it likes, but it can't overcome the local force of gravity.

But if the force of dark energy is increasing, this means that regions dominated by gravity

will eventually be dominated by dark energy.

We might get to a point in the future where the Milky Way and Andromeda stop falling towards

each other and get pushed away.

Then, as dark energy continues to strengthen, the gravity of a galaxy can't hold itself

together and individual stars are thrown out.

Then star systems are overcome by dark energy, tearing their planets out into the void.

Dark energy becomes stronger than the gravitational binding energy of stars and planets.

They get torn apart.

Molecules, atoms, subatomic particles.

Nothing can withstand it.

Keep increasing and even black holes are broken up into pieces and scattered into the ever

accelerating, expanding Universe.

You probably already know, this idea is known as "the Big Rip".

Based on the most precise calculations astronomers have been able to do, it shouldn't happen

any time in the next 80 billion years or so, many times longer than the Universe has already

been around.

But far sooner than the trillions of years that red dwarf stars might live for.

Or the Googol years it could take for the last supermassive black hole to finally evaporate

away.

Answer The Question Is this going to happen?

To the best of their ability, astronomers previously calculated "probably not".

They were able to estimate that dark energy had remained constant over the history of

the Universe within 1-2%.

The most precise measurements of the accelerating expansion of the Universe came from those

supernova surveys I mentioned earlier.

The problem is that although Type 1a supernovae are bright, they're not that bright, universally

speaking.

The most distant supernova ever seen is called UDS10Wil, which detonated about 10 billion

years ago, at a time when the Universe was a third of its current size.

But most have been much closer than that.

In order to get a more precise measurement of the Universe's early expansion, astronomers

needed another technique, to see those crucial first few billion years.

It looked like they've found one, and we'll get to that in a second, but first I'd like

to thank:

John Tumelty Daniel Gscheidmeier

Adam Crowl Steve Bartholomew

Matthew Lawrence Ben Slutsker

And the rest of our 811 patrons for their generous support.

If you love what we're doing and want to get in on the action, head over to patreon.com/universetoday.

On January 29, 2019, a team of astronomers announced that they had accomplished the incredible

feat of figuring out a measurement tool to probe the expansion rate of the Universe during

its first couple of billion years.

They used X-ray observations from NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory and ESA's XMM-Newton

as well as ultraviolet data from the Sloan Digital Survey to measure about 1,600 quasars.

Quasars, of course, are actively feeding supermassive black holes, and they're some of the brightest

objects in the Universe.

It turns out that as material piles up in the accretion disk around a black hole, it

produces ultraviolet radiation.

This radiation slams into clouds of hot gas above and below the disk, which boost their

energy and release photons of X-ray radiation.

What this means is that the amount of ultraviolet radiation and X-ray radiation will be a set

ratio to each other.

You can tell how far away a quasar is by measuring the amount of these two kinds of radiation.

Guido Risalti from the University of Florence in Italy and Elisabeta Lusso from Durham University

in the UK carefully used this technique to spot quasars which were as distant as 1.1

billion years after the Big Bang.

This gave them a way to peer into this earlier time of the Universe's expansion.

They found that, in fact, over the Universe's 13.8 billion years of history, dark energy

does seem to be changing.

It seems to be increasing.

If true, this would indicate that the future of the Universe could very well include this

Big Rip scenario.

Instead of the stately and solemn heat death of the Universe, countless eons into the future,

we could be looking at a violent end where even black holes are torn to pieces.

One additional bonus is that this discovery could help astronomers with a puzzling paradox:

the expansion rate of the Universe.

Astronomers have two very accurate measurement techniques to measure this rate, one gathered

from the Cosmic Microwave Background, when the Universe was very young, and another measuring

the rate that galaxies are speeding away from each other in all directions.

Changing amounts of dark energy could help close the gap in the two measurements.

Future surveys using other techniques could confirm or invalidate their findings.

We'll get a better answer over the next decade as telescopes like the Large Synoptic

Survey Telescope, WFIRST and Euclid should be able to get a much more precise answer.

It might turn out that dark energy oscillates, increasing and then decreasing as time goes

on, leading to a long future of acceleration/deceleration cycles, or maybe even a future Big Crunch,

where dark energy turns negative.

It's important to note that this is a very preliminary result.

There could be all kinds of errors here, in both the underlying data and the techniques

the astronomers used to make their calculations.

In fact, Dr. Paul Sutter mentioned on the Weekly Space Hangout last week that he thought

this discovery probably won't turn out to be right.

It's incredibly exciting, so it's probably wrong.

That's just how it goes.

Remember primordial gravity waves?

Neutrinos going faster than the speed of light?

Various explanations for dark matter?

They ended up having another explanation.

So, stay tuned.

Lori Ruff & The Dark Secret She Hid From Everyone - Duration: 7:38.

At first glance, Lori Ruff had a relatively normal life.

She had a husband whom she would later divorce.

The couple had a daughter together.

But on Christmas Eve of 2010, Lori Ruff

took her own life via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In the aftermath of Lori Ruff's death,

discoveries came up about her true identity,

including the fact Lori Ruff was not even her real name.

Her case has puzzled the internet community for years.

Here's everything learned so far about the mysterious life

of Lori Ruff.

But before we get started, subscribe to the channel below.

And leave some comments, why don't you?

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Lori Ruff was born Kimberly McLean

in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Her uncle, Tom Cassidy, said she had

a normal childhood growing up in the suburbs with her sister.

People described her as a shy child

who typically kept to herself.

Her mother stayed at home while her father

worked as a carpenter and volunteer firefighter.

Her uncle said the troubles began after Kimberly's parents

divorced.

Kimberly did not adjust well to switching schools and adjusting

to a new stepfather.

In 1986 when she was just 18 years old,

she ran away from home to move to King

of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

She explicitly told her mother not to look for her.

After divorcing her husband and having a child just two

years earlier, Lori Ruff took her life

when she was only 42 years old.

Authorities found her body in her car parked

in her in-laws' driveway.

Prior to the divorce, Lori and her husband fought constantly.

She was overly protective of the child

and was hesitant to bring up anything about her past.

Her in-laws even believed she was not whom she said she was.

Following her suicide, her husband, Blake Ruff,

searched her home.

It was here he found an 11-page suicide note.

Authorities described the note as the ramblings of a clearly

disturbed individual.

There was also a letter addressed to her daughter

with instructions that it should not

be opened until she turned 18.

Authorities read the letter, but found nothing.

Finally, Blake found a lockbox containing secrets

to her true identity.

Within the lockbox where shredded documents revealing

Lori was actually Becky Sue Turner.

Blake had known his wife previously as Lori Kennedy.

His confusion only deepened when he

learned Becky Sue Turner died in a house fire

when she was just a child.

The lockbox also contained fake IDs

with a number of different names.

The Ruff family learned about this

when they paid the Turners a visit.

The Ruffs informed them Becky had died at the age of 2.

To solve this mystery, they had to call

the authorities to unravel who Lori Kennedy and/or Becky

Sue really was.

Joseph Velling, an investigator for the Social Security

Administration, was on the case.

He found someone who knew Becky earlier in life

and told the authorities she got breast implants

and worked as an exotic dancer for a while.

Medical records supported the statement.

Velling asked a reporter at The Seattle Times for assistance.

That reporter published a report titled,

"She stole another's identity, and took

her secret to the grave.

Who was she?"

After that, numerous online sleuths were on the case.

One California-based scientist got in touch with Velling

and gave him a theory.

The scientist believed Lori was actually

a person reported missing in the Philadelphia area.

She believed Lori was actually Kimberly McLean.

Velling left for Philadelphia to get in touch

with Kimberly's family members.

All he had with him was a hunch and a photograph.

Velling showed the picture of Lori

to one of Kimberly's family members.

Upon seeing the photo, the family member

explained, oh my god.

That's Kimberly.

Kimberly's mother, Deanne, agreed

to undergo a DNA test to confirm the relationship.

The tests proved that the two women were related.

It took a total of six years for authorities

to learn Lori Ruff's true identity.

A big break in the case came when

Colleen Fitzpatrick, A nuclear physicist who later became

a forensic genealogist, tracked Lori Ruff's family tree

with a DNA sample linking her to a man named Michael

Cassidy in Philadelphia.

At this point, the online community

came up with this timeline.

Kimberly McLean was born on October 16, 1968.

Becky Sue Turner was born on July 18, 1969.

Becky Sue died in a house fire two years later on December 30,

1971.

Kimberly got a hold of Becky Sue's birth certificate

on May 20, 1988.

Kimberly formally assumed the identity on June 16, 1988

when she got an Idaho state ID card with Becky Sue's name.

In 1988, Kimberly, now technically Becky Sue,

moved to Texas, where she legally changed her name

to Lori Kennedy.

On July 12, 1988, she got a Social Security card

with her new name.

With this, she obtained a Texas state ID card as Lori Kennedy.

Kennedy got her Texas driver's license on April 19, 1989,

where she listed her age as 19 years old.

She was actually 20 at that point.

Kennedy graduated with a bachelor's degree

in business administration from the University of Texas

on December 13, 1997.

On January 5, 2004, she married Blake Ruff.

After marriage, she changed her name to Lori Ruff.

The couple had a daughter on September 15, 2008.

Becky Sue/Lori/Kimberly took her own life in 2010.

While the timeline clears some things up,

it also raises further questions.

For instance, no one knows how Kimberly McLean

was able to steal the identity of a young, recently

deceased girl.

One prominent theory is that Kimberly

used an identity broker.

But nothing has ever been confirmed.

No evidence exists that suggests Kimberly

was hiding from an abusive parent,

that she was a fugitive, or that she was a spy.

As far as authorities were concerned,

she was just another teen runaway.

Despite his best efforts, Velling still cannot account

for what Kimberly did between 1986 and 1988.

It appears she spent time in Idaho,

Las Vegas, and California before ultimately moving to Texas.

One thing is certain.

Kimberly McLean did not want to be found.

Lori's ex-husband and daughter are left with little comfort

knowing where this woman actually came from.

Her mother, Deanne, finally learned

what happened to her daughter.

But she also learned that that daughter

had taken her own life.

Lori Ruff's life remains clouded in mystery.

Filling in the gaps has provided little solace

to two families who now have to pick up the pieces and move on.

One reason why this case continues

to interest authorities and online sleuths

alike is that the motivation is not clear.

Identity theft is nothing new, but it usually

serves a purpose.

Some people assume a new identity to escape an abuser.

Other times, the person in question has committed a crime

and wants to evade the police.

With Lori Ruff, no motivation is apparent as

to why she took the identity of a deceased child

when her family life was a tad tumultuous,

but by all accounts, normal.

On September 26, 2016, the federal government database

containing a list of missing and unidentified persons

formally removed Lori Ruff from the list.

The life and death of Lori Ruff, a.k.a.

Becky Sue Turner, a.k.a.

Kimberly McLean, continues to draw interest to this day.

Sadly with her passing, we may never

learn the truth about why she stole a child's identity.

And then I'm sure by the time it's finished

We'll have figured out where the next one is

Jordanix1871: Oh yeah, like no worries

Jordanix1871: I don't think it matters what order you do them in

[Elartor2125] says, "There's one in the Iron Keep, after the boss"

Jordanix1871: Oookay

What the fuck is that?

Ummm

Are you gonna try eat me?

Okay

Jordanix1871: Yeah, a lot of memories

Jordanix1871: Like, I did so much in my time

Jordanix1871: Yep, lot of memories

Jordanix1871: Oh, let's see now

Jordanix1871: How's he got game over?

Jordanix1871: Walk off a cliff, I'm guessing?

Jordanix1871: Down a hole, fell down a hole?

You'll see

It's... playing the DLC

Jordanix1871: Ohhh, arrows!

Jordanix1871: Okay

Jordanix1871: Um, in the DLC, arrows are bad too

(laughs) Okay

I'll try to keep that in mind

Jordanix1871: Again, they were bad in the main playthrough, but...

Jordanix1871: ...still bad

"This game never gets old, in my opinion"

Yeah

I watch a lot of people streaming, too

"Especially with the PvP"

"Until you get laggy AF for hackers"

Yeah

No, I won't play PvP in this game

I avoid it whenever I can

If I could play...

Fuck

Arrows are still bad

Reporting in

Jordanix1871: (chuckling)

Jordanix1871: I think the DLC you're in right now

Jordanix1871: Is my least favorite

Jordanix1871: As far as the levels go

Jordanix1871: But anyways

Yeah, the enemies fucking hit hard enough

Jordanix1871: Yeah, track record with the PvP isn't so great

I've actually been much better in Dark Souls 2

For PvP than Dark Souls 1

Jordanix1871: Oh nice

But it's definitely because the loadouts we pick...

...are designed for PvE

Yeah, I know that PvP is supposed to be part of it

But... I don't know

What the fuck am I looking for?

I've read this message like four times

(confused sigh)

Did not think that was gonna work

Jordanix1871: Oh man, I forgot how much I hated...

Jordanix1871: ...this fucking level / area design...

Jordanix1871: ...blah-de-blah

Jordanix1871: Keaanu, get to the good part already

Jordanix1871: Would you, man?

I am so god damn confused

Jordanix1871: (snickers)

Are you...

Jordanix1871: In my professional opinion

Jordanix1871: The DLCs are more like...

Jordanix1871: ...very puzzle-y

Jordanix1871: Meant to be experienced like a puzzle

Okay

Jordanix1871: So looking back on them

Jordanix1871: They're not long

Jordanix1871: Except they do seem long

Jordanix1871: Because of the amount of time you have to put in to them

Jordanix1871: To figure 'em out the first time

Jordanix1871: Ah, I'm just talking out of my ass

Jordanix1871: Don't listen to me

"Long Bow+7?"

Weird

Aaand am I fucked now?

Or not?

I feel like I'm fucked now

Jordanix1871: Ummm

Jordanix1871: Actually yeah I think... no...

Jordanix1871: Okay, I'm not sure where you're at now

Jordanix1871: Because I just watched you jump off a ledge

Jordanix1871: Ah, I think you are in fact fucked

Jordanix1871: And this area has like...

Jordanix1871: I don't know if this is the only spot in this part like this

Jordanix1871: Or sometimes you can take out your bow and arrow

Jordanix1871: And shoot...

Jordanix1871: ...levers and shit

Jordanix1871: And it takes you back up

Jordanix1871: But I wanna say you're fucked

Cool

Well that was fun

Jordanix1871: You gotta feather back

Jordanix1871: Okay, did you get the feather?

Um

I died

Jordanix1871: Okay, there should be an item in your inventory

Jordanix1871: That's a feather, that...

Yeah yeah yeah, the Aged Feather

No I've used that, but I died

Jordanix1871: Oh, oh okay

Jordanix1871: Good man, good man

Yep

Jordanix1871: Just making sure everything is as it should be

I'm glad I have to do that whole intro section again

Jordanix1871: Yeah, I think I might call it a night, myself

Okay

"This is the most puzzle-y one"

"The others have their own theme-type feel"

Yeah

Well this is what I assumed

That Doors to Pharros was going to be like

Because of all the Pharros contraptions

And all the crazy shit there

It feels like I'm playing fucking...

...Prince of Persia, or something

This doesn't feel like Dark Souls at all

Darksiders, maybe

Oh shit, there goes my ride

(hearty laugh)

That was brave

Yeah

I don't have a hookshot or a whip apparently, so...

I "walked right beside it..."

Alright, we'll have another look

My the way, if you're not using a mic

And if you're not too busy

You're welcome to join on Skype

Phone-A-Friend style

The way Jordanix1871 was on here

All you have to do is add me on Skype

And I can have you up on the stream with me

Was this here before?

Yeah, I did that

Wait...

Is it this?

Okay, this is a new area

Awesome

Perfect!

Hello?

Elartor2125: How's it going?

Well, I'm playing the [first] DLC in Dark Souls, so...

...not great

Elartor2125: Yeah

The reason that I only have 56 views

Is because I started streaming two weeks ago

So that's why there's almost no followers around

It's not because the stream is terrible

(laughs) It's because I just started

Elartor2125: No, I can vouch, dude

Elartor2125: It's not terrible

Yeah

Elartor2125: Pretty good

Elartor2125: You're a bit, um, agressive

Elartor2125: I don't see you blocking with that shield

Yeah

I block a lot in Dark Souls 1

But Dark Souls 2, I found...

...I don't know

Maybe I just need to find a good greatshield

But I found the blocking to do almost fucking nothing

And he takes SO LONG to get his shield up

After he's been hit

Or after he's been using Estus or something

Normally I would be blocking a lot, but...

Elartor2125: I don't know if it's actually in this DLC

Elartor2125: There's a ring you can get that...

Elartor2125: ...reduces how much stamina

It takes to block, but a LOT

Nice

Okay

I think I have this figured out...

Elartor2125: A bunch of people spend the first 20 minutes...

Elartor2125: ...just trying to find those ladders and stuff

Elartor2125: That you're finding

Well you're just so used to one type of gameplay

Like just straightforward, there's always a path

And then you start this DLC

And there's just nothing

Ooh, that was close

Elartor2125: Yeah, yeah the... Jet Set Radio

Elartor2125: I love that game on the regular Xbox

Yeah?

Elartor2125: Yeah, that was a lot of fun

I've never actually played it

All the games with checkmarks beside them

Are games that I've played through

(in the description at twitch.tv/Keaanu)

Elartor2125: Yeah, yeah

Oh shit

Nooope, not interested

In whatever you're selling

Fucking dragon out of nowhere

Elartor2125: (snickers)

Umm

Oh fuck, I'm lost already

(laughs) I can see why everybody hated this DLC

Elartor2125: Yeah

"Attacking therefore armor"

Which one was this?

Or, which DLC is this?

Elartor2125: That was the very first one

Oh fuck

Okay

I don't wanna step off there when I can't get back up

Elartor2125: Yeah, the other two are a lot better in my opinion

Elartor2125: Honestly I can't name anybody who cares for this one

Elartor2125: Just because they made it a giant maze

Elartor2125: Especially with all the...

Elartor2125: With how much damage

Elartor2125: And it's all about poison

Elartor2125: Not to mention these guys you're going against

Elartor2125: They're invincible until you destroy their bodies

"Attacking therefore armor"

Elartor2125: Which is crazy

Elartor2125: Those little altars by the ghost-looking guys

Elartor2125: You gotta destroy those

Elartor2125: So that they become... hittable

Oh, and then I have to actually fight them

That's fucking crazy

Elartor2125: Yeah, they'll take a lot more damage

Elartor2125: Whereas if they're in the ghost form

Elartor2125: They take like, no damage

Yeah

[CaptAccident] says he was "just doing PvP on the PS3"

Elartor2125: Yeah

(laughs) We were just talking about how much

That I particularly hate PvP in this game

Or this series

Oh fuck you guys

Because my build is for PvE

And if you don't have a PvP build

Then you're just gonna get taken the fuck apart

Elartor2125: Well they were *supposed* to take a lot more damage...

Elartor2125: You're, ah... not doing so much

(laughs) Yeah

Well that's because I'm using a curved sword

That was a very risky heal

Elartor2125: Is it fully reinforced?

Yeah, it's +10

It's a Melu Scimitar+10

So it's a decent sword

Elartor2125: I haven't used them

Elartor2125: They look pretty nice, though

There we go

We're making progress now

Elartor2125: Nice, CaptA

Elartor2125: It looks pretty good

Elartor2125: I wouldn't say I'm too hyped about it

But I'll definitely be picking it up at some point

Elartor2125: Looks really nice

Elartor2125: I like how you can combine the weapons

Elartor2125: And then take them apart

Elartor2125: That looks really nice

I'm glad that I'm practicing all this rolling

And non-shielding

Because they're actually taking away shields

Elartor2125: Yeah, I saw that, yeah

Elartor2125: I don't know

Elartor2125: It seems they pretty much replaced...

Elartor2125: That's rude

Elartor2125: Stuck in that hallway

Holy fuck

Yeah, I'm dying pretty good here

(weird horn/singing noises)

What the fuck is that?

Elartor2125: Yeah, you can go on those barbs

Elartor2125: They don't really...

Elartor2125: (laughs) Oh yeah, but there's the invisible guys

Elartor2125: Yeah, their bodies are further into the level

Elartor2125: Then you come back

That's ridiculous

I'm just in complete darkness now-

And I'm getting invaded

God damn it

Elartor2125: OHH IT'S THOMAS THE JESTER

Yep

Elartor2125: Ohh, you're gonna have fun with this guy

Elartor2125: And in case you don't know

Elartor2125: He's a... you know, it's an NPC

Elartor2125: You can actually summon him

Yeah

He just kind of has been standing there so far

Taking my attacks

Elartor2125: Yeah, just don't let him hit you

Okay

He's trying now

Holy FUCK

He just exploded

Chill your fucking dick, guy

Elartor2125: He is usually a lot harder than this

Elartor2125: He is not attacking you at all

Yeah, after like half his-

I don't even know what that is

Elartor2125: You got a free pass

(chuckling) I guess so

Am I fighting a boss?

I kinda want a...

...bonfire first

Elartor2125: Wow, yeah, the enemy-

Elartor2125: Oh yeah, yeah there's a bonfire

Ahead or behind me?

Ah, you want through the fog door?

Yeah

You just keep going straight from the fog door

There's a bonfire

Okay

There's big stompy dinosaurs

That look like they *really* wanna kill me

Elartor2125: Yeah, yeah

Elartor2125: They're a little past that

Elartor2125: If you look just straight

Elartor2125: It's like, you know, it's past the dinosaurs

Elartor2125: Straight and to the right a little bit

Yeah

I think I can see it

Ohh they see me

Jesus Christ

Elartor2125: RUN

I'M RUNNING

Holy fuck

Chill the fuck out, guys

Okay, I lit it

Probably not-

No it's not gonna let me use it

So if I lit it

It means I can warp to it though, right?

Elartor2125: Yeah

Elartor2125: What, what?

I lit the bonfire

But it would not let me rest at it

Because I'm getting eaten by dinosaurs

Elartor2125: They're a little bit to close

Elartor2125: If you were able to get them a little bit further away

Elartor2125: Then you'd be able to rest at it

Elartor2125: And they'd despawn

Okay

Well one of them just ate me

Elartor2125: If it's lit, you can warp to it

If you die

Yeah

No, I can't see the-

Oh, there

Jesus Christ

Elartor2125: (snickering)

Jordanix1871: So are you ready for Darklurker?

Sure

Jordanix1871: It's a bit involved

Jordanix1871: This is the boss that...

Jordanix1871: ...I think he was on a video I once saw

Jordanix1871: I've actually never fought it

Jordanix1871: And I've never gone through the steps to even find it

Jordanix1871: It was like a secret to me

Jordanix1871: Because you have to join one of the covenants

Okay

Jordanix1871: Do you remember in Drangleic Castle

Jordanix1871: Falling through a floor

Jordanix1871: In the room with all those Ruin Sentinels?

In Drangleic Castle falling through a floor...

Jordanix1871: Okay

Jordanix1871: Do you remember Drangleic Castle

Jordanix1871: Where all the Ruin Sentinels are?

Jordanix1871: There's a room with like 3-4 of them?

Yeah

Jordanix1871: Okay

Jordanix1871: Go back to Drangleic Castle

Jordanix1871: And go to that room

Okay

Jordanix1871: You're going to want to go into the room

Jordanix1871: On the far end, on the left

Okay

Oh, this should be fun

So I just ran in the room and woke everything up

Jordanix1871: Good, man!

Jordanix1871: Well let me know when you die, and you restart

(laughs) Sure thing

Jordanix1871: (laughs) "Can do!"

"Ohh, he's tryin'!"

I'm actually in the room, though

So I don't know...

I am in the room on the left

Jordanix1871: Sweet!

But there's nothing in here, except death

Oh, there's a hole in the floor!

Jordanix1871: Yes

Jordanix1871: Go down the hole in the floor

Jordanix1871: That's where you want to be

I also want to be not being killed by a Ruin Sentinel

And I failed at that

I can see the bonfire, though!

Jordanix1871: Okay

So I died walking towards the bonfire

Jordanix1871: Died doing what you love, huh?

Jordanix1871: Running from enemies

(chuckling) Yeah

Jordanix1871: (snickering)

The Sentinel followed me down again

So he just really wants me dead

Jordanix1871: Yeaj

Jordanix1871: Good thing you didn't kill it

He didn't even disappear when I used the bonfire

So I'm... gonna kill him now

Or he's gonna kill me

You wanna take bets, Jordanix1871?

Jordanix1871: Ah, I'm gonna gue-

Jordanix1871: Well you got the bonfire, so it doesn't matter

Jordanix1871: I think-

Jordanix1871: Ah, yeah, I got nothing

The funny part is, I wouldn't even be able to tell you

Where the smart money was

Jordanix1871: (snickering)

Realistically

Jordanix1871: See, I actually farmed all these Sentinels to completion

Jordanix1871: For the levels

Well he just game me 3,000

So that's pretty frigging good

And especially if I can kite them down here

Jordanix1871: I took them out one at a time in the room

Jordanix1871: Anyway

Jordanix1871: So down here there should be a dude in a chair

Jordanix1871: That's making fun of you

Jordanix1871: And calling you out

Jordanix1871: Telling you how useless you are

No., he just says...

"May we meet again somewhere, sometime"

Jordanix1871: Ah, what a douchebag

Jordanix1871: Anyway, what happens is you wanna join his-

"You have to rest at the bonfire for them to disappear"

Jordanix1871: Um

Jordanix1871: You need to join his covenant

Jordanix1871: And then you need to go into the portals that are beside him

Jordanix1871: And you have to do all three of them

Jordanix1871: And then in which case it'll let you go

Jordanix1871: And fight a boss

"You need to go find him in two other locations"

Okay

Well I recognized that...

...that black stone-looking thing

It's actually under the-

Jordanix1871: OH

Jordanix1871: Wait, you didn't fight the Gargoyles, did you?

No, no I didn't

Jordanix1871: Okay, go to Lost Bastille then

Oh, the dude's despawned!

He's gone

So that's... interesting

Okay, so I'm in The Lost Bastille

There's these zombie dudes that jump at me and explode

Jordanix1871: Ah, you did do the Executioner's Chariot...

Jordanix1871: So what we'd need to do now is...

Jordanix1871: The Gargoyles

Jordanix1871: In the bell tower place, or whatever

Yep

Jordanix1871: And possibly the [Dark]lurker

Jordanix1871: I'm just telling Elartor2125

Yep

Jordanix1871: I think the jail cell is up top

Aha, those fucking exploding zombies killed me

God damn it

Jordanix1871: Oh, but did you find it?

Jordanix1871: Yeah

Jordanix1871: That is the place

Jordanix1871: That is where you get the bonfire

Alright you fucking zombies

Get over here

Jordanix1871: "Ancient Dragon?"

Jordanix1871: Yeah, he doesn't wanna go for the Ancient Dragon

Jordanix1871: Because the Ancient Dragon talks to him...?

Jordanix1871: If makes him feel like his feelings are hurt

Jordanix1871: If he kills him? I don't know, it's weird

Jordanix1871: But it's an achievement so...

Does he not give you anything, though?

Or sell you things, or...?

Jordanix1871: Ah, no

Like you can join a covenant and do shit...?

I just don't wanna kill someone who offers me content

Also I'm a giant pussy

And I don't wanna fight him because he scares me

Jordanix1871: Okay, well he is pretty...

Jordanix1871: ...pretty baller, I think

Jordanix1871: I think he is "HAF"

Jordanix1871: Or as the kids say, "Hard As Fuck"

Okay

I actually found this bonfire before

And I was super pissed that I couldn't get at it

Because I needed a Fragrant Branch of Yore

Like super, SUPER pissed

Jordanix1871: Yeah

Okay, so I'm warping to...

Jordanix1871: Servant's Quarters

Servant's Quarters, I'm there

Jordanix1871: Okay

Jordanix1871: There's a ladder in the floor

Jordanix1871: With a Pharros contraption

Yep, I did that

Jordanix1871: Okay, activate it

Jordanix1871: And you can "destroy an illusory wall"

Jordanix1871: "Which will lead you to a tower"

Jordanix1871: "In this tower you'll be constantly invaded"

Jordanix1871: "By Bell Guardian covenant members"

Mhm, been there

Jordanix1871: "The boss is through a gate in this tower"

Okay

Jordanix1871: There you go

So I just didn't get to the gate

Jordanix1871: Yeah I think you have to go up

Jordanix1871: A bunch of stairs or some crap

Yeah, I definitely was in that area

And was getting pissed

Because I was just getting invaded

Jordanix1871: Gotcha

And killing them again and again

But I couldn't figure out where to go

Okay, walking through fog gate

And I see "Belfry Gargoyle"

I think I did see that gate

But I didn't want to do it off-stream, so...

Jordanix1871: Oh okay, gotcha

And there's also probably more of the fact

That I'm a giant pussy

And really don't like fighting boss fights when I'm not...

...completely ready

Jordanix1871: Now we know

Jordanix1871: And knowing's half the battle

It is

Oh fuck, they fucking...

They come back?

There's like...

Jordanix1871: No, you get multiples coming out

Oh, Christ

Well I'm fighting...

I killed one

And then I already have two on me again, so...

Jordanix1871: I just didn't wanna spoil it for you

Jordanix1871: You know, man?

Yeah

I'm pretty well ignoring them and just powering through

Jordanix1871: Yep

Although...

...they're hitting hard enough that...

...I'm having a hard time healing

Through all the staggering

Jordanix1871: Mmm

What I should be doing is that...

...Lifegem business again

Holy fuck

They're coming out of the woodwork

Ohh whyyy?

Jordanix1871: Oh, yeah

Jordanix1871: Gotcha, yeah

(worried sigh) Okay

If you guys can fuck off for like ten seconds here

"Throws a bunch of boss fights in his face"

Ah, I feel like they're...

...regenerating health

But they're really just one big swarm

Because they're all taking damage to the same...

Jordanix1871: Correct

...bar

Jordanix1871: You got it

But it would be great not fighting

Fucking *nine* of them at once

Jordanix1871: Mhm!

I can't even tell when I get one down to low health

Because I lose him in the swarm

Jordanix1871: Yeah that's right, yep

Crunch

Jordanix1871: Oh man, I just watched one of them

Jordanix1871: So close to being dead, and then...

Yep

Jordanix1871: He just jumped away

I run into the crowd and I grab him

Here in a second

Jordanix1871: Okay, nice

Jordanix1871: Yeah you did, yep

Okay, now it's just the one

Jordanix1871: For me it made me most nervous

Jordanix1871: When I was down to one

Jordanix1871: Because I'm like "Come on, Jordo"

Jordanix1871: "Don't fuck this up"

Yeah

I know they don't hit hard, so...

Jordanix1871: Mhm

Not so bad
