Tripods do you need one?

Do you even want one I'll show you why I love I mean hate

You'll see why run the intro

My name is Thomas Andersen, my name is Thomas and I can be weird. Sometimes introducing your name on camera

My name is Thomas Andersen. My name is Thomas and I love

tripods well

Actually, I don't I really want to love them and I do

but you love tripods, but they have their limitations and

I really wish I could overcome the limitations of tripods because they are so good for what they do, but

There are so many things I wish

We're just better about them

tripods are great for what they do for things like time lapses or

Landscape videos when you're inside a studio like this I'm using a tripod right now

Or if you need an extra pair of hands cuz you're shooting by yourself

You tripods are great for those kinds of things

Like when you're setting up to do a landscape shot and you need to get that nice buttery smooth water

you need a

Tripod to be able to hold the camera steady long enough to get that shot or if you're setting up a time-lapse

There's no way you can do a time-lapse unless you set it up on a tripod now, obviously

There's other ways around this

I would set my camera up on a couple of totes and a couple of books to get to the right height

that's not quite as convenient as a tripod and when I do landscape photography the biggest issue, uh,

The reason I wish I didn't need one of these all the time

They're big and bulky and most of time they don't fit

Well inside your backpack when you have to climb up to the top of a mountain

Set up your tripod putting an expensive camera on top of this piece of equipment

There's a wind gust that comes - I want this tripod to be sturdy enough

It's not have it fall over and break my camera. You can get more sturdy ones that cost more than weigh more

they're more bulky and they just

these are the things these are the things that just

Make tripods so difficult for me with that being said they are

Super great, like right now in my studio. I leave this tripod up all the time

but

They're just that's did I say bulky and not very convenient. The question is do you need a

Tripod. Do you need one? I didn't buy a tripod for a long time. I got a monopod I

Bought a monopod because this compared to

this

This is so much more convenient one hand helps stabilize the footage

You can hand hold the camera still only time you I needed a tripod versus a monopod

Was if I had to leave the camera

but most of the time I'm staying there with

of the camera and this helps stabilize it do I think that you need a

Tripod it really depends on what you're going to be using the tripod for and if you just are getting into photography and cinematography

And you don't know what you really want to be doing yet get a cheap tripod. That's what I got

This is a cheap tripod that you can get on Amazon link will be down below in the description

This will let you experiment with

Shots that you need a tripod, but don't go often spend 100, 200, 300, dollars on a tripod

Unless you know like I need a tripod cuz I'm doing lots of this

I spent like 25 bucks on this and this other tripod that I have right here

You see this tripod right here

I got this tripod at a thrift store and guess how much it cost me this tripod right here cost me

$7

That's right

$7 was all this tripod cost me and it works great. It works for everything that I need

It's got nice sturdy legs. The head is a little outdated

But you can buy a new head for a lot cheaper than you buy a whole tripod

$32 is all I've spent on tripods so

Recommendation you're just getting into it buy a cheap tripod

link is Down below some cheap ones that you can get that will work

Great for pretty much anything you want to do if you know you want to get into more of these specific things

That's still just my hate love relationship. I can't find a tripod that I just I love and mmm

I wish they I wish I could like them, but I have to use them for certain things

But until then I'm gonna keep using my seven dollar tripod from the thrift store

Because it works great for what I need it to be used for that's it if you love them if you hate them

sometimes there are things in life that you just need

like YouTube more than 75% of time and YouTube teaches me things

I just don't understand

I Need Your Help! - Duration: 1:24.

You know, I've always loved a good story

whether I was telling one or listening to one.

It's been my favorite job.

Now I've done a lot of things in my life

but I always go back to it.

The more I think about it sharing our stories

could be what sets us apart from other species.

Without our stories, who are we?

And yet most people will never have their story told.

They will die forgotten.

I want to save as many of those those stories as I can

and at the sake of embarrassing myself

I'd like to ask you to help me.

First, if you are watching on YouTube

down in the corner there is a subscribe button.

Please click it.

If you're watching on Facebook and Instagram

there's a link down below.

And if you can afford $1 a month to help me do this

there's also a link in the description.

Thank you.

I Need to Talk Day 2 - Duration: 1:16.

- Alright, so now you are sitting and you are having

a conversation with someone after they came to you and said,

"I need to talk."

You're in a comfortable surrounding, it's quiet.

This is where you wanna start practicing active listening.

If you're actively listening,

that means you're not looking at your watch.

It also means that you're not sitting there trying

to figure out how to respond,

or what this person needs to do to solve this situation.

You are just actively listening to their words,

paying attention to their body language.

So that the person who is speaking feels heard

and feels a connection with you.

And then once they get to a stopping point,

that's when you want to say, "May I speak?"

And why is this important?

Well, it's important because they may not be done.

So you need to ask permission to speak

in order to move forward with the conversation.

Join me tomorrow and we'll talk a little bit

about how to best address how to respond to that person

once they do reach a stopping point.
