Gordon Banks, one member of England's legendary 1966 World Cup team has died today
His family released a statement via the Stoke FC Twitter account. They wrote: "It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon passed away peacefully overnight
We are devastated to lose him but we have so many happy memories and could not have been more proud of him

The keeper scooped the ball over the bar after what seemed to be a sure goal from Pele, jumping from the other side of the goal with incredible agility
BBC commentator David Coleman hailed the save with the legendary words: "What a save
Gordon Banks. He picked that out of the net." His legendary play for England inspired a number of players still active today, including England squad member Raheem Stirling
The England and Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling was one of the first to tweet about the fallen player, saying: "Of course there was that save, but it's so much more we are mourning today
