Nevada pilot in D3adly California house crash had been disciplined
LOS ANGELES AP The pilot whose plane broke apart and crashed into a Southern California home was disciplined for dangerous flying years earlier.
Antonio Pastini died Sunday along with four people on the ground when his Cessna came apart and wreckage struck and burned a Yorba Linda home.
The Los Angeles Times reports Friday that records indicate Pastini lost his pilots license for 120 days in 1977 after he flew from Las Vegas to Long Beach, California, in cloudy, icy weather and falsely told an air traffic controller he had instrument clearance. A judge found he had posed a potential threat to himself and others.
The Times says Pastinis license was pulled for 30 days in 1980 because his plane was judged "unairworthy" because of a brake fluid leak and other problems.

Fifteen years after her disappearance, the father of UMass Lowell student Maura Murray says he believes her remains are buried in a New Hampshire basement.
Saturday marks 15 years since a University of Massachusetts Lowell student crashed her car in New Hampshire and was never seen or heard from again.
On the eve of the anniversary of Maura Murrays disappearance, her dad tells NBC10 Boston hes the closest hes ever been to finding his daughters remains.
"Anybody that ever had a kid in the history of the planet knows how I feel," Fred Murray said in an interview Friday. "It cant go away."
On the night of Feb. 9, 2004, Maura Murray crashed her car into a snowbank along a country road in Woodsville, New Hampshire, and vanished without a trace.
A surveillance video released by a transit authority in Cleveland shows a man stepping off a train to smoke a cigarette and then frantically chasing after it when it leaves the station with his baby on board.
"When youre with someone every day and then theyre gone, its unimaginable," said Mauras older sister, Julie Murray.
Maura Murrays family has been searching for answers ever since she disappeared, and now, her dad has news to share.
"Ive finally got so close. Im standing on my daughters grave I believe," Fred Murray said.
In early December, he paid for two cadaver dogs and a radar specialist to search a private property near the crash.
"They both had positive findings for a cadaver, buried under where they sat down, in the same spot," he said.
Murray says he wasnt able to search this property until a new family moved in. He tells NBC10 Boston that the previous owner denied him access.
Icy roads could be to blame for a school bus that lost control and flipped onto its side Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri. Three students, including one in a wheelchair, were on the bus at the time of the crash. The Center School District said none were seriously injured.
"He would just never answer the door," Murray said.
As part of the search agreement with the new owner, Murray promised he would not publicly disclose the exact location.
He believes his daughter is buried in that cellar.
"Were so close, to reach out, and if the cement wasnt there, I would start scratching with my hands and dig. I would," Murray said.
Maura Murray was a star athlete from Hanson, Massachusetts, studying nursing at UMass Lowell.
It was around 7 p.m. that February night when, according to her family, a bus driver saw her crashed car, and stopped to help, but Murray waved them along.
Data from NASA and NOAA show a continuing pattern of the global temperatures rising since 1880. The three hottest years on record were 2015, 2016 and 2017, followed by 2018.
"He said, Do you need help? and she said, No, I already called AAA," Julie Murray explained. She says that witness called police, but by the time officers arrived, Maura Murray had vanished.
The New Hampshire Attorney Generals Office says its aware of Fred Murrays recent alleged discovery in the nearby basement.
In an email to NBC10 Boston, Associate Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin said, "We are aware of the allegations regarding a homes basement in that area and have considered and are considering next steps. That area was searched by law enforcement in the past, including with dogs, and nothing of significance was discovered."
Murray says he doesnt believe them.
"I wouldve heard about it," he said.
Murray is calling on New Hampshire State Police to go back into that house.
Just days after Hills Pet Nutrition voluntarily recalled select canned dog food products due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D, more than a dozen dog owners have come forward on the companys Facebook page saying their dogs have either become sick or died after being fed the food.
But in his desperate quest for closure, he says, if necessary, hell find a way to do it himself.
"Ill fund it, Ill do anything," Murray said. "Its my daughter, I want to bring her home and bury her, and then I want to find the dirtbag that put her there."
The Murray family is asking everyone, everywhere to join them in lighting a candle at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to show Maura that the search continues.
