What's up guys welcome to the Saturday show now on Saturdays I let go back
through the week of news wave and pick out different comments that you guys had
to say based on the different topics that we talked about throughout the week
it's also a good way that get caught up if you miss any days or any pieces of
news or anything we're gonna start today with a quick piece of news but first
guys as always make sure to like button if you enjoyed the video it does help
out we're gonna start with ashens so you know Ash and released of course during
the VGA is actually a little before the game Awards I guess a tech Liat and that
was released and then it was announced during the game Ward's that go download
it and play it on your xbox through game pass but it was originally supposed to
go to the Windows Store because it was described as a play anywhere title on
their website people noticed this right away but then they also noticed it
wasn't on the Windows Store which was odd in fact it was on the epic game
store which was very weird because we figured oh my croissant was supportive
apparently throughout the entire development it would only be natural
it'll also go to the Windows Store and have that game Pass play anywhere style
where you could just go download on your PC as well but no to the epic game store
first and they actually responded after people got a little annoyed you could
say online and they responded saying epic games those epic games store so
epic games actually approached them and wanted to make that one of their
hallmark titles for their platform as in its not even Steam it's like to be
announced on Steam still Epic Games is going around and they are actively
pursuing games specifically for their platform kind of it's interesting it
basically epic games is being very aggressive with this platform they've
created rather than kind of put it out there and say oh you could put your
games on there if you want no they're they're active to go out and essentially
getting free agents for their platform which is interesting because Steam
technically sits back and lets whoever just show up and drop their game on the
platform so I wonder if valve notices the the aggressiveness of epic games and
I wonder if they would respond in any way if epic game starts getting a kind
of traction in in this field where they have all these
how many platforms we have we have what you play we have origin it's probably
some I'm not even thinking right now but of course then we also have steam and
now we have epic game store and it seems like they're just rolling in trying to
make a lot of moves to become relevant in the space they have the money of
course with fortnight making hand-over-fist
tons of money so it's interesting to see that even a smaller I guess it's more
any title like ashen is pulled up snapped up right away and it says hey
we're gonna put you on the front page of our store yeah of course actions gonna
go do that of course and they've been working with Epic Games for a while so
don't be surprised after the game awards showcase that we saw all these games a
lot of meth epic games store logo on it don't be surprised that that is a common
occurrence going forward if there are bigger titles that could be pulled away
from Steam epic games seems ready to do that and getting started the week on
Monday we talked about Sony's new stance with censorship on third-party games and
their explanation for it Sony is implying with the stances to be more in
line with global standards and help shield younger gamers from certain
content Mick says Sony's new censorship policy is likely due to the new guy in
charge Kassar I didn't seem to mind as much as
this current guy when it comes to censorship ironically with Nintendo it's
been the other way around where the current president doesn't mind leaving
games uncensored compared to previous intend o present so you're speaking of
John Canaries they even talk about Sony's handheld presence or even
handheld space at times and even referring to the switch as an
interesting thing to keep an eye on John Coderre
moved in and it it is odd then all of a sudden we start talking about Sony
censorship on third-party titles now Nintendo has censored their own first
party titles before I mean we've seen it with several games they've published and
third-party ones generally were left untouched
I mean senran kagura was on the 3ds and that was pretty much left untouched so
as long as it's not something that in tendo's name is on I guess as a
publisher developer they don't care as much it's odd in this case with Sony
because they're actually showing up and telling these third parties to change
their content to more match their guidelines and it's it's odd to see Sony
do that I'm not sure why that is it doesn't seem to affect
Sony in Japan essentially as some of the stuff that's being censored over in the
US for example isn't necessarily censored in Japan so it almost seems
like not only it seems like a regional thing as well specifically in the US so
I'm not sure why this is all of a sudden happening it could be because John could
era you know took the took the reins here and that was something he wanted to
do it's also possible could just be a
policy that they have kind of created I guess just going forward because
they're leading the the industry with their console it's it's it's interesting
stuff and we'll see if it ever gets to a point where they affect a big game in
some way to where that game really gets mad at Sony and then we see like the
fireworks flag we'll see for now it's been smaller games you know like XSEED
had to push back a game and we've seen things obviously with like DOA but we'll
see if anything massive takes place Tuesday we saw people start to check out
the PlayStation Classic in an attempt to open up the software and begin hacking
it so far some serious progress has been made with some even loading up new games
on the platform to try out McDowell nut says Sony I think wanted us to hack it I
mean why 16 gigs also they're very good at keeping their consoles unhackable I
think they want you to hack it so the sales go up because they don't really
care it's not online so this is an interesting theory that I've seen people
talk about did Sony put this thing out in just terrible shape essentially
through the emulation that everything right the only thing that they got I
think right was the build quality I think the controllers are as close as
they give me the originals and honestly the the system itself it looks fine
through a hardware mechanical standpoint the emulation is bad and people are
wondering did was this so lazy where they're using public keys to sign
software to where we're already having people load stuff on it without any
issue it's happening the games don't run very well but that would be something
they'll be worked out in time especially we get to a point where it's easily
hackable like downloads program you know plug in your PlayStation in your
computer and just start dragging and dropping stuff we'll get to that point
probably in the next month or two but for now you have to do some serious
typing in you got to change database and stuff to make it work and then the games
don't even work that well but the 16 gigabyte thing more than likely
they couldn't fit all of those games on eight gigabytes of space because there's
also room set up for like the little OS they have loaded and everything and then
the next step up would have been 16 gigabytes for them so they just said
give us a 16 gigabyte chip we'll drop it on and the price will be a hundred
instead of like 85 or 90 or something you know that's more than likely and
once they realize that they probably said you know what throat another
controller in we don't want to sell anything separate from this but from
their perspective they don't want to do that they would have rather it been a
good product from the start at least I would assume they would have because you
can't count on people buying your product and then modifying it hacking it
for actual sales numbers I go to my Walmart you go to your Best Buy I've
been in both those places recently since the launch of it and there there's
plenty of them they're just stacked up with the NES classic you guys were here
on the channel I I couldn't find one for like a month I think I made the video
like a month and a half after came out or something and I had to go on
Craigslist and get one for $100 so yeah the PlayStation classic super
easy to find although people still try to sell it for like $200 on Craigslist I
don't know what that's about but yeah it makes no sense I think for something to
make it easy to hack I see this as a heavily rushed product because if this
was up against a Nintendo 64 the 64 classic would have run straight over
this thing cuz even the Super Nintendo classic and the Nintendo classic
I'm feeling are still selling more than the PlayStation Classic and that's just
that's just Sony did they just shot themselves in the foot with this thing
they should have waited and they could have launched this June of next year if
they're thinking this 64 Classic is holiday next year but they had to rush
it and well this is what we get Wednesday went over the teasing around a
crash team racing announcement after Activision sent fuzzy dice to different
outlets and saw Epic announced a new storefront to
compete directly with Steam Mac says I think the switch will absolutely
dominate 2019 they have so many heavy hitters and so much more in store they
haven't even announced so we assume based on obviously previous history that
Nintendo would have a direct in January it makes sense they would kick off the
year they would show kind of a road map maybe talk more about Fire Emblem and
then probably some other games they would announce and after the game Awards
took place we can have a look back at that now what we're going to do in the
next segment when we go into uh Friday but it's it's interesting looking
at the third parties that started to really show up I mean who would have
thought that Mortal Kombat 11 would have been moved to the switch right I mean
Crash Team Racing that's the way no the Xbox one end the switch
same day it's not a timed exclusive spyro launched and it's only on the Xbox
in the playstation right now and we assume it's going to the switch you know
at some point later on but we're seeing these companies start to catch up to the
switch and now going into 2019 after you know 2017 and 2018 now where I think
we're getting to the point where the dev cycles have kind of started to restart a
bit or they just have more time to work on a switch version because I think a
lot of these companies do want to be on the switch because there is money be
made there and of course the install size is getting larger and larger and
we'll find out more about that install size at the end of January which will
include Smash Bros numbers and we might even get an announcement maybe next week
even for smashes numbers like they're like oh it's sold X amount a million in
the first no week or something like kinda like we do a Pokemon right so
you're absolutely right 2019 is gonna be a big blowout year Marvel turn Alliance
3 who saw that coming right no one so it's it's gonna be an interesting year
for the switch I think that's gonna be the big blowout year when all the third
parties really start showing up maybe - EA but were they Madden ok sure I guess
but a lot of the bigger third parties I think will show up the big test is going
to be will activate and do something like put Call of Duty in some kind on
the switch that'll be the big telling factor Thursday saw Bethesda managing to
leak out several customer tickets through the support side of the website
this included full names addresses and credit card numbers while fallout 76 is
clearly a buggy product it seems their website or their PR isn't doing much
better - some gaming says I really like the Fez does games at all but this
should show all companies that there is a limit to how far your money grabbing
tactics can go how many times was sky reported and remade again you know
what's interesting is people really didn't get that mad about Skyrim despite
it was buggy but people still like the game and they bought it when I was
ported it was more like oh they're porting skyrim again well I guess I'll
just buy it again and I mean Todd Howard even said that he's that hey if you
don't want to keep porting Skyrim then stop
buying it people keep buying it and that's the way it is I mean what's on
it's on if it's even on the Amazon Alexa at this point well that's kind of a joke
product it's still there but it moved to the switch so well there they move to
the Xbox one of the ps4 so well there and they'll probably move Skyrim to the
next system like let's be real it'll it probably happened although you can't
really do much with the framerate after 60 so who knows cuz the game logic
parent he's tied to it but fallout 76 is a good case study for hopefully these
companies to keep an eye on because we're seeing Bethesda which at one point
was a company that people love people love Bethesda with the games that they
would bring out right people love the Elder Scrolls series
fallout was even people like that as well but then we're getting to the point
where they are porting Skyrim a lot here comes fallout 76 an obvious rushed
product they can't get anything right they're ripping people off apparently
with the special edition in the bags and leaking customer info and this was
probably they wouldn't better off not releasing anything this holiday like
nothing nothing just just just move along we'll get to doom you know like
everyone's gonna like doom and that comes out for the most part but all that
76 wow that and they're gonna do use the same engine for the next game then it's
like I I feel like star field and Elder Scrolls 6 won't even get much of a
chance out of the gate here because people are gonna say oh that's the
fallout 76 engine yeah hmm like we're to the point where fought 76 is imprinted
on that engine the creation engine then where people don't want to look at it
because they're like what is gonna be like fallout and I'll broken so it's
it's amazing to see Bethesda drop so far in what two months time that it's
incredible it really shows that no company is really actually safe finally
on Friday we talked about all of the game award announcements that included
big third party titles coming to switch such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance three
more will come at eleven and Crash Team Racing God of War also managed to win
game of the year despite Red Dead Redemption to seemingly having it in the
bag Air Gear says see this is why I hate rumors and leaks expectations become too
high and takes away a lot of the excitement and surprise I'm so happy
Joker's reveal was kept secret Joker's reveal even if it was put out there I
mean who would've believed that I wouldn't believe you may be out I
wouldn't believe I would have written that thing off as
yeah there's no that's not happening the metroid stuff unfortunately you know
it didn't happen and we're all excited hoping it would happen think it would
happen it didn't but Joker was a massive announcement that you might be right
might have got kind of I guess downplayed a bit because of that but
Joker being in Smash is interesting because it's starting speculation for
something else kate says it's more like Nintendo is
pulling the strings since they are picking the characters instead of
Sakurai he just says if a character it will work in the game so this is where
we're leading into now with Joker being picked as a character for smash because
remember Sakurai told us that Nintendo picked the DLC characters more than
likely they could have been picking some of these DLC characters to maybe build
some bridges for these business connections you know that's why you see
a lot of people possibly talking now about the possibility of Joker or
persona 5 coming over to the switch there is even a rumor that's been
started about it who knows if that's actually real but yeah the possibility
of persona 5 coming over to the switch has been amplified now with Joker
showing up at the game Ward's showing up in Smash but I know when he's coming to
smash there when this next DLC thing is there was no gameplay shown so I assume
they really have just started working on it but the fact that Joker could show up
in what is one of the antennas most popular IPs are the smash bros it really
makes me wonder if there is so there are some talks going on right now between
Atlas Sega and Nintendo about porting that over with a subheading of some kind
persona I don't know what reloaded or I don't know a special edition or
something but you bring that over persona 5 special edition and you
released on the switch that game gets the Second Life in Japan and it probably
helps the sales numbers further I mean they already did really well over 2
million units sold for that but they probably make it three or four if they
move it to the switch and it would it would definitely sell on Japan I think
would actually sell well in the u.s. there as well might as Yeomans gonna do
it here 4 news way if you enjoyed this video guys hit the like button does help
out if not hit the dislike leave comments down below about everything we
talked about today whether it's the game Awards some of the announcements let me
know your favorites which ones you didn't expect maybe we've talked about
fallout 76 because that just that won't go away
I don't know if it ever really will at this point and then what do you think
about 2019 for the switch I think it's gonna be its big blowout year but let me
know what you think about that entire lineup and stuff I guess we don't even
know about yet thanks guys for watching and I'll see you next time
