 A dog that survived the catastrophic wildfire in Northern California apparently protected the ruins of his home for almost a month until his owner returned

 Madison was there waiting when Andrea Gaylord was allowed back to check on her burned property in Paradise this week

 Ms Gaylord fled when the November 8 fire broke out and destroyed the town of 27,000

An animal rescuer who responded to Ms Gaylord's request to check on Madison first spotted the male Anatolian shepherd mix several days later

 Shayla Sullivan said the outdoor guard dog was apprehensive and kept his distance

Ms Sullivan left food and water for him regularly until his owner got back on Wednesday

She also helped locate Madison's brother Miguel, another Anatolian shepherd mix that was taken to a shelter 85 miles away in the confusing aftermath of the wildfire

 "If (the evacuees) can't be there I'm going to be and I'm not going to give up on their animal until they can get back in," Ms Sullivan said

Weeks later, he was found patiently guarding the lot where the house once stood, waiting for his family to come home

 Gaylord told news station ABC10 she couldn't ask for a better animal.  "Imagine the loyalty of hanging in in the worst of circumstances and being here waiting," she said

 "Their instinctual job is to watch the flocks and we're part of them," she said about her dogs

"It's a comforting feeling."

A woman who was forced to leave her dog behind when she evacuated as a wildfire tore through her neighborhood in Northern California last month returned home this week to find the beloved pet waiting in the ashes where her house used to stand

 Volunteer organization K9 Paw Print Rescue shared a photo of the dog named Madison waiting patiently on the property when her owner Andrea Gaylord returned

The caption explained that Madison's 'parents' were unable to get home to him after the Camp Fire broke out and rapidly expanded across thousands of acres

  'They hoped and prayed he would be OK. When they finally got clearance to go back to the lot where their house once stood

Madison was waiting there for them as if he were protecting his former home. Never give up!!' the post read

A heartwarming video shows the moment Madison was reunited with his brother Miguel, who was rescued in neighboring Citrus Heights

 SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO  More than 50,000 people in the town of Paradise and two neighboring communities were forced to flee as the Camp Fire torched 240 square miles after igniting on November 8

 This week hundreds of residents were finally allowed to return and survey what's left of their homes after the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in state history

   At least 85 people were killed and 11 are still missing one month on.   Share this article Share Shayla Sullivan, who has spent the past month rescuing pets in the wake of the fire, shared Madison's inspiring story in a comment on the K9 Paw Print Rescue post

 She said she caught sight of Madison several times during her searches but was unable to get to her, so she would leave out fresh food and water in hopes that the dog would find it

  Sullivan wrote: 'I'm so HAPPY to report that Andrea was allowed to return to her property today and THERE MADISON WAS!!!! He had stayed to protect what was left of his home, and NEVER gave up on his people! 'I'm so happy I'm crying as I write this! He didn't give up through the storms or the fire! A LOOOOONG month it must have been for him!' Describing the moment Madison and Miguel were reunited in a post on her own profile, Sullivan wrote: 'It was the BEST feeling having Madison meet our truck

After feeding him for almost a month, but NOT knowing he was for sure still there, seeing him was surreal

 'He followed the truck, so he must have sensed Miguel was aboard. He was wagging his tail as if to tell me: "I know you from around here, I think you're pretty ok

"'Sullivan said that after the dogs greeted each other they 'went back to work' protecting their home

 'Miguel took Guard over the lower part of the property and Madison took the top. It must be such a RELIEF for Madison to have his partner back,' she wrote

 'We looked around and still are amazed that both dogs survived. It's a true testament to the instincts these dogs have

Their people lost multiple family homes. Andrea's spirit is uplifting and she hopes to rebuild a new home for the boys to watch over

'Madison is PROOF that there are many animals waiting for their people. Keep feeding, just in case , and keep the hope alive!'

California teacher faces charges after forcibly cutting a students hair while singing anthem CNN

Margaret Gieszinger, 52, a former teacher at University Preparatory High School in Visalia, faces six criminal misdemeanor charges one count of false imprisonment, two counts of cruelty to a child, two counts of battery, and one count of assault. She could serve up to three and a half years in prison if she is convicted on all charges, according to the Tulare County district attorneys office.

Cellphone video posted to Reddit on Wednesday shows Gieszinger call a male student student to the front of the class. She makes him sit, then cuts chunks of his hair while singing "The Star Spangled Banner," transposing verses as she sings.

The student moves away, and Gieszinger holds the scissors above her head, demanding that another student come to the front of the class. She can be heard telling students that someone will be chosen if no one volunteers. Gieszinger begins to sing again and darts between desks, lunging at a female student. Gieszinger pulls the female students long hair to the side as she attempts to cut it. The student yells at her to stop, then joins others fleeing the room.

"He couldnt believe what was happening," said Mark Vogt, an attorney for the male student whose hair was cut by Gieszinger. "He, frankly, didnt know what to do. He thought to himself me or anybody else, shes coming for someone else. And in the video, of course, we see that later. But he was absolutely terrified."

Witnesses told CNN affiliate KFSN that Gieszinger showed up to her first period chemistry class brandishing a pair of scissors and saying it was haircut day. As events unfolded, one student reportedly ran to the main office to ask for help.

Students also told KFSN that this was not the first strange episode involving the teacher.

The Tulare County Office of Education has made counselors from their mental health services program available to any students who need to talk. University Preparatory High School promises that Gieszinger will never return to its classrooms.

"We take very seriously the safety of the students in classrooms," the Office of Education said in a statement. "We are reviewing all available information and will take the most severe employment action appropriate."

Gieszinger was released from jail in Tulare County on Friday evening after posting dollar 100,000 bail, according to KFSN. She has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from University Preparatory High School.

Gieszingers husband told KFSN that the behavior shown in the cellphone video was completely out of character for his wife.

"She doesnt do stuff like that," he told KFSN reporter Brian Johnson. "Its not her. Its not who she is. So I dont know what was going on with her. I dont have any clue as to why she did that."

"Sabemos que solían viajar con frecuencia. Sabemos que acostumbraban visitar casinos; y la verdad es que usaron la cuenta de la escuela como su cuenta personal", aseguró el abogado del colegio

Kreuper y Chang contaban a los padres de familia que la escuela operaba con un presupuesto limitado, mientras ellas se gastaban el dinero en viajes y juegos de azar en casinos

El medio millón de dólares sólo representa lo que los auditores han podido rastrear en seis años de registros bancarios y las transacciones en efectivo no podrán ser incluidas, además de que el uso indebido de los fondos había estado ocurriendo al menos 10 años, dijeron funcionarios de la arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles a padres y exalumnos

Las dos monjas que se retiraron de sus servicios en la escuela a principios de este año, expresaron su remordimiento y acordaron devolver el dinero, por lo cual ni la arquidiósecis ni la iglesia presentaron cargos a la policía

Michael Meyers, monseñor de la iglesia de Los Ángeles, dijo a que la arquidiócesis había iniciado una auditoría de rutina seis meses antes del retiro de las hermanas, al mismo tiempo una familia solicitó una copia de su cheque a la escuela y notó que había sido depositado en otra cuenta bancaria, ajena a la del colegio

(AP) Fue cuando Kreuper "se mostró muy nerviosa" por la revisión de las finanzas de la escuela y solicitó al personal que modificara los registros; entonces un auditor interno alertó de estos movimientos percatándose de que "algo estaba mal", confirmando después  sus sospechas

La arquidiócesis luego contrató a un auditor independiente para hacer más exhaustiva la revisión,  encontrando una "cuenta olvidada" a la  que únicamente  tenían acceso las religiosas

Las monjas ya han sido removidas del ministerio y trasladadas a conventos separados, indicó Meyers,  no se interpondrán cargos criminales porque la congregación de las Hermanas de San José de Carondelet, a la que pertenecen,  acordó pagar completamente la suma sustraída de la escuela e imponer sanciones severas a las monjas
