you're following our recorded line from the online campus of American university
education unfortunate or unable to bring our mission department on the line with
us hope you know your comments viable and appreciate your patience yes it is
correct yeah if that exists I haven't looked exactly to see what they all are
but you know I know a lot of the job applications say that you have to have a
four-year degree to get a job yeah I still reside in Georgia but I never did
get a job to where I could actually afford to pay you know after I had my
two-year education my associate of Applied Science degree I never could get
a job like her you know on a full-time on a company which had benefits and all
that stuff and pensions and things like that I never could get on you know they
were hiring me temp work well I am before military spouse however I got
divorced from my ex-husband I did I didn't you know I was married for 18
years he was in 16 years and so I didn't get under it under that plan and
nothing's been grandfathered in for former spouses like me you know who it's
so so I have nothing
something we currently work I have a contract worker for YouTube which is
owned by Google and and so but my revenues been throttled right now due to
the net neutrality which has been taken away so I don't make like what I did
quite a while ago how would I pay it back without a job how would I pay it
back but if I don't if I don't have it if I don't have a job and I haven't
gotten a job from the other degree that I got how am I going to pay the the
money back because I never got a job from the other education that I got
which said that I should be making at least six figures or more a year
from that particular job so where where are the jobs at for these education well
but so so admissions knows where these jobs are at because the previous college
that I worked for wouldn't even hire me other than temp and so I have they paid
me less which is anti diversity and discrimination in hiring practices by
using a temp agency and paying a person less money to get by with paying them
less money don't you think like it's favoring a person you know favoring
other people over others and then paying them less by using a temp agency well I
know I I've tried to apply to SCAD which is here in Savannah the Savannah College
of Art and Design and they said that you either have to have been a student or a
teacher to actually get a job with them
yeah so they're kind of discriminating against former military spouse and I
actually received some retirement funding through a divorce but I wasn't
married long enough to actually getting benefits I didn't get the college part
or anything like that what do you mean
oh we weren't they never had it they never grandfathered in older folks like
me because I got divorced around 2000 and there was no benefits or anything
that I was aware of for me as a spouse they didn't put that into later so
nothing was grandfathered in for I current currently don't even have any
medical healthcare nothing well the thing is I I didn't actually wasn't able
to get a job with the first degree I got I was just tired in temp work everything
every place I went to would hire me temp even the college that I went to up in
Iowa after I graduated from it they hired me I like working there I was
working in the student records but they had a test that I had to take like a
typing test ride to take you know 50 words a minute and so even the course
that I took for typing 450 words a minute to pass my to get my associate of
Applied Science degree in multimedia marketing that wouldn't work for getting
the job I had to take another test and by then I had gotten kind of rusty and
slow and so I couldn't pass the 50 words a minute test so so they were they were
preventing me from even getting a job at the college I graduated from for some
reason and then I ended up getting paid less money and then I went to work for a
bake yeah I was through manpower and and they were doing abstracts up there in
Iowa and I tried to get a full-time job there and I was making like 8 bucks an
hour well actually I worked there first but I
was making 8 bucks in here an hour there then down to 7 at the college and and so
I was trying to find a job where I could actually afford to live and not live in
poverty and and so it's like I don't I don't know how many more education I
have to take oh yeah I I can go get it here it's probably a package or
something get back spud get back hi
get back spud get back I can't actually see though what whirring where's it at
okay you bet spud all right thank you
okay thank you for holding it's it's a diploma program I had to actually III at
the time of graduation I got the associate of Applied Science degree and
then they told us we could pay $40 for and as an Ag s which was an associate of
general educator and a associate of a GE which was an associate of general
education or something like that so I went ahead and paid the $40 so they
said we could have gotten that after a year just for taking a bunch of classes
and then paying $40 for a degree up there in Iowa so that's what we did
up there with that and and and so I was never able to actually get in you know a
regular you know job with benefits and all the thing that I would have needed
in to take care of my son and the military bases were like far far away
you know I didn't have a my ex-husband wouldn't give me a ID card not that I
could have used it and so I was paying for everything cash out of my pocket if
my son needed dental care and if he needed any type of work I was paying
cash out of my pocket you know even just for going the doctor for him and myself
because I could not afford health care at that time and I was making less than
$12,000 a year and it's like how old do I have to be
how many more education do I have to get to find this job well technology or
technology networking you know science you know they're all kind of intertwined
education you know they're all they're all really intertwined even the math and
numbers they're they're really all intertwined with each other if you think
about it and you know so I mean I basically kind of been doing what I
really liked on YouTube you know with the the marketing and media and stuff
like that and and but then it's like a pardon well marketing I was teaching
people how to crochet at one point but then I ended up getting throttled in two
in two different two ways that you know one of them I would have never even
thought about but two ways you know when when they buffer the Internet and they
slow it down so that some some is favored over other then that's slowing
it down it's taking a job away from someone else does that make sense and
then the other is when they arrest people and they they send them to jail
because they make a video online and it's like well why don't they do that to
people who are are you know broadcasting on the news they don't do that to them
so somebody is using a third party to bully and intimidate people who are new
media content creators on the Internet and using law enforcement as a
means and a dirty tactic of intimidating new media content creators on YouTube to
scare people to stop creating content or that's my my opinion and when that
happens then they're using the police and so when the police arrest people
send them to jail or take their personal equipment which is their their devices
you know they're creating intellectual property and they're not a threat then
that means they're used they're using the police to actually violate that
person's constitutional rights
yeah well it's it's kind of crossed my mind because of the fact that now now
that I see when I when I kind of took away the aspect of we can have law and
bad policy but when you look to the Constitution for everything when you
look to the Constitution then you can see how people's constitutional rights
are violated and so you know so so there's all aspects and even women with
the Thirteenth Amendment and involuntary servitude I looked at my my record my
social security record from the time I was a military spouse for 15 years it
says zero on the whole thing zero and even with my I was by myself for a
little while and earning a tiny bit towards my Social Security and Medicare
and then when I met my second husband at zero so every time I'm with in a
relationship and not working no money is going towards my
myself you know and so I'm sure that's any spouse and I use that word spouse
because I know there's some men who stay at home too and so any person who's in
an at home role is is is working in voluntary servitude of you know with the
Thirteenth Amendment and and so so you know and because of the fact that I was
arrested I actually saw how how people's civil rights are violated you know in
that sense you know the Equality you know with services it you know services
and things like that so there's a whole broad spectrum of things just since
March that I that's opened my eyes in a different way that's just because of the
Internet I learned this stuff and and so yeah so I'm not sure you know so yes
they could be broke they could be intertwined together and I do I do
scream and yell a lot on Twitter about this and so yeah it's very frustrating
to me and you know we even live well yeah we even live in a FEMA swamp but
that's that's probably going off-topic a little bit different it would be it
would be as soon as possible but I wouldn't know how I would pay it back
because of the fact that alright you know I go like III don't have a way to
actually pay the money back but when I be able to not when I be able to not
include my husband's income because I already found
that even to get healthcare downtown in Savannah if we make more than I think it
was more than $1,500 a month and he makes like he made he has a pension and
retirement so so we're disqualified from even having low income health care
downtown even though we're considered poverty yeah well I could look at the
fast when fill that out and see what see what happens and and and try that route
again and see what happens because I know the first time I was by myself and
it actually work I did get the Pell grant but with with me being in a
relationship and married then I it seems like everything he can't even get
disability even though he's qualified for disability and he's had some things
going on he has a lot of health problems and had blood clots and stuff he can't
even get disability so so it's like what they're saying on TV that is not
matching you know with our experience of people just being able to freely get
government funding like what they're saying on that on the TV and stuff and
so it's really kind of frustrating to you know that seeing all these older
folks are being told that they can that all these people are coming in our
country and stealing if it's and it turns out to just not be
true you know what I mean yeah yeah I've seen that I see that a lot yeah yeah
yeah what kind of like the fact that from the day that we're born
we're we're into social media right from the day that we're born we use social
media I said kind of when you said that that a lot of facts are not facts well
right kind of like like when they put on TV that that to tell people to get off
of social media when really that since the day we are born we are social media
because of the fact the babies cry is a social media communication to its mother
for for some need right well right but then that that's how people end up
continuing to live in poverty though is because then when they put out this
misinformation which has been done ever since the TV was put on and actually the
United States government created the internet and beta beta test is the
internet and cable TV and so so there's sort of a corporate narcissist that
comes across
well right but the resistance is what's coming from the the ones who have the
highest amount of money and the people that are trained in film school and
stuff like that who are who are actually fighting against the change because they
know instead of telling the older folks in America that even though Social
Security could go away you're still gonna have universal health care which
is going to cover everything so you're still going to be getting a service for
the money that you put in so they scare the older folks you know to me okay well
why are you trying to get me to understand it because the thing is is
that then you're telling me what you want me to think and that's what
marketing is is telling people what they want them to think what they should be
thinking well right right it is a discussion you're you're right about
that but but the problem is is that but it it it it's used to get people to vote
based on fear for things that they're afraid of her they're afraid of losing
and then so we end up with these older people who are sick and working there
like my husband here in the state of Georgia it would cost us eighteen
thousand dollars a year for insurance and we don't have that kind of money so
he's paying out of his pocket for medication so while everybody else is
being partner
universal health care would be great because the film industry in the state
of Georgia is not helping me it's actually violating my constitutional
rights well this is the whole state of Georgia is a dead end because of the
fact that they're incentivized by the film industry and so none of them can
even be spoken to because they're so well coached and they're so set on
building buildings and and they've been getting their pockets greased that it's
a dead end I mean it's a complete dead end well I already have an associates
and I already have a one-year degree and it's a real degree it's not a
certificate like one of my bosses formally asked me they're like well do
you have a real degree or is it a certificate and it's like I even got
certificates from the United States Army at one point several when I lived in
Germany and we were told whoa that should help you get a job too and it
didn't help well if there's jobs available but where are the jobs
available I would have to know that first where are the jobs available at
that where are these jobs and do they actually exist or are colleges just
putting jobs online just to pad their college for you know so they don't have
to advertise in the digital data collection online is that what they're
doing because a lot of jobs they say that they're there and then they say
they're not open so it appears that colleges are using some stuff and
they're using students to put things online and that's kind of frustrating so
like where do these jobs actually exist hello
well
where are the jobs oh that's priceless that's priceless what I can get the call
spammer to hang up that's priceless
