This footage shows the hilarious exchange between a woman and a security robot outside a gas station in California
The Knightscope robot was stationed outside the store when the woman and her dog went over to test the gadget out
Despite wondering whether the device would 'shoot us if we touch it', the woman pokes fun at the robot and watches it move in the opposite direction
The woman's trolling was filmed in San Francisco on August 9 this year. At the start of the clip she wanders over to the 5ft security guard, saying: 'Hello, Mr Security Robot'
She worries aloud: 'Is it going to shoot us if I touch it or something?', before suggesting that her dog wanted to empty its bladder over the robot
When she gets closer she touches the robot, setting it off beeping, and says she is 'sure it's recording me'
Suddenly the robot starts moving past her and away from the store entrance, to which she says mockingly: 'Oh I'm sorry Sir, you may pass'
Share this article Share After it turns 180 degrees and heads back towards the store the woman continues her sarcastic commentary, saying: 'It seems so effective'
Robots such as this one are designed to spot suspicious behavior and send an alert to their human superiors
The robot carried the name Knightscope, a range of similar machines launched in 2013
. They can also read up to 300 car license plates a minute, allowing them to monitor traffic, and play pre-recorded messages
