So many woman I talk to ask me the same question. "Why do I pee when I sneeze."
Peeing when you sneeze is very common
but it's not normal! The reason you pee when you sneeze is
because there's a sudden increase in your abdominal pressure. I am going to explain
further but first let me introduce myself .My name is D. Stephanie Mayer
and I am an expert at helping moms decrease pain and ending urinary stress
incontinence so you can fully participate any activity they desire in
life. On this channel I give tips to stay injury free and when injury does
occur i provide tips so you can fix it yourself.
So if you're new here consider subscribing. Okay so when there is
is a pressure issue this means the core is not working correctly. To stop
this accidental peeing you need to fix thix pressure system. When working correctly our air goes
from our diaphragm to our abs to our pelvic floor .And when we breathe out
those muscles spring back up. Now if the system isn't working correctly pressure
builds up and our bodies aren't ready for things such as sneezing or even coughing,
laughing, jumping, or running. So in order to fix this pressure system you need to
avoid exercises such as crunches, bicycles and jack knives because these
exercises only target the abs which will block that pressure system. And as a side
note those exercises will not give you the flat stomach you're doing them
for but instead they will cause a lower belly pooch and back pain. So instead
to help stop this accidental peeing focus on posture and breathing when you
stand. Make sure your rib cage is over your
pelvic floor which is over your ankles. Do not stick your chest out or hunch
over because that will keep the pressure system from going up and down
like it is supposed to. Also keep your weight evenly in your feet which keeps
the pressure going through the pelvis evenly which will prevent leaks.
And make sure when you breathe your breath is going from your diaphragm down
your abs to your pelvic floor. Relax your stomach as you do this and then
when you breathe out imagine your pelvic floor coming up and in.
So again breathing in allows your breath
to go down to your abs while relaxing your stomach then down to your
pelvic floor. And then breathing out your pelvic floor comes up and in.
To summarize it's very common but not normal to pee when you sneeze and not
fixing it can lead to other issues such as back and hip pain pain.
This can and should be fixed. For more
