Hey everyone I'm Shayne, and I'm Nick welcome to our very first GI wonder video.

In these videos we'll be answering questions from our clients about

websites, social media, search engine optimization, graphic design, and

marketing. Today we're gonna be answering a question we hear a lot from our

clients. Do I need a website? you're watching GI Wonder we hope you

learn something.

To answer this question we got to go back to the beginning when we first

meet with a client to assess whether or not they actually do you need a website

and Shayne you generally sit down with clients when you first meet with them

and start to talk about some of their needs, what kind of questions

do you ask or what do you do when when you talk to them. Well what we find is

that a typical web agency will dedicate your full budget towards a

website. The way we differ is, actually the first question I do ask when I meet with

a client is what are your business goals? So from this we can determine the best

way to use your budget to get the best return on investment so this could be

building the website or it could be putting everything towards social media

to gain your audience. Yeah I think one of the things we found was that

sometimes people think right off the bat if I'm selling a product online or

something like that they immediately want an e-commerce website but we find

out once we start asking a few questions that maybe their product's not ready for

the market yet a great example is an online e-training course maybe all your

content isn't available yet so maybe a better way to spend your

budget is on actually building a one page landing page just for people to

register interest in the course itself that way you can actually find out

before you spend a lot of money on a big huge website whether or not people are

actually interested in the thing that you're trying to sell. Right and then

with that audience that you've just garnered you can actually hit them with

emails afterwards, you can do campaigns because you already have that

audience built up right, so then you can leverage that as well so it's not just

all about the website, there's many pieces that work together with it for

your full marketing package. I think back maybe ten years ago most people could

say that the the website was the biggest thing

but now it's kind of moved into a smaller area and the online digital

experience you have everything from social media to various other platforms

everything has to work together it does it's one big package that all ties in
