So 10 days ago, We set 30 chicken eggs in here.
It's now the 26th of Marchand we now need to candle these eggs to see whether or not
  any of them are fertile.
As we explained before, we are not sure if the cockerel is actually doing it's job.
We'll take the lid off here now, They have been incubating for the last 10 days they
  are very warm.
now, what we are going to use is one of these.
This is a egg candler and as you can see it's quite bright.
And what we are going to do is pick up each egg in turn and we will literally put it through
  this egg candle.
Now, this one although you guys can't see it I don't think, you can make out the veins
  in there.
But this egg is fertile so that's 1 good egg at least.
You might see it here on some of the lighter ones, again look at the veins in this egg.
I am going to bring it up to show you guys I don't know if you will get to see it.
But look at the veins in this egg.
See if I can get it to focus.
But we know that, this egg is fertile, so that's 2 so far guys.
This ones not fertile , and as you can see it's clear.
So we will take that one out.
There's another fertile one, and another not fertile.
There's another not fertile, and another not fertile.
So, it looks like this cockerel hasn't been doing that great a job.
Another fertile one here, and this is why I set 30 to start with guys.
There is a mass in this one but I can't see any veins so I am going to put it as a not
  fertile.
This is why we've set so many, again, another not fertile.
It looks like we are going to have to end up doing another batch later.
  There's another fertile one.
  That's not fertile.
  That's not fertile.
  That's not fertile.
So, this cockerel is not treading a lot of these hens.
  That's not fertile.
There's not a great showing guys so far.
Neither is that, So I think what we are going to have to do is pen him up a little bit.
  Neither is this one.
And this is the reason why we candle eggs at 10 days, because we don't want to be wasting
  our time.
That's not fertile, so I am going to run through these a little quick.
  Not fertile, not fertile.
That one is, that one is.
Not fertile, That one is, No, no, no, no and no.
  Ok, guys.
2, 4, 6 we ended up with 8 eggs that were fertile out of 30, so, we'll leave those 8
in anyway and we'll run it and we will do another batch afterwards.
Like I said That's because I didn't see the cockerel treading.
But we know he is now because we've got 8 fertile.
but what we need to do now is maybe pen him up with a few little hens for a couple of
day, and get him more into it.
It has been cold, so, that's a possibility why nothing has been done.
So we are going to get rid of all these other eggs and we are just going to incubate these
8, I am going to spread them so they are in 2 per pen, and all the rest can go.
So anyway guys, that's the results.
We now know that 22 of those eggs weren't fertile, and that's just the way it goes unfortunately.
Like I said, It's been cold we didn't know if the cockerel was doing anything because
  we haven't been there.
We will pen him off now with a couple of hens and we will collect their eggs and hopefully
we can get the next batch we will have a bit more of fertility.
But, there's no point incubating all these eggs they will just turn bad and that's why
we check with this egg candler at day 10.
So it's now saved me the next, the best part of the next 2 weeks waiting for them to hatch.
Anyway guys that's it and I'll see you in the next one.
  bye, bye.
