Hello friends!
This is the first video from the series on "Why I Need
Jesus."
Many people reproach Christians saying: you talk too much
about Jesus.
This is pure fanaticism!
After all, it does not matter which religion you profess, most importantly,
to have reverence for the Most High, the Invisible God.
The German poet Goethe was also a supporter of this idea.
"The main thing is feelings.
The name is only sound and smoke ... "
Whether we say Allah, Buddha, destiny or "higher being"
is irrelevant,
the main thing is that we have
faith in general.
Let's imagine that you are going
on a train journey.
Here you stand in line with the passengers.
Before boarding at the door, the conductor checks the tickets.
When it's your turn, you quickly give
your guide a ticket and a passport.
And when you are already preparing to pick up your bags, the conductor suddenly
stops you and says: "For a minute, your
passport is overdue!".
"What does it matter?" - you are indignant - "The main thing is that I have
a passport". "No!" -
The conductor protests. "The main thing is that your passport is valid."
Is the conductor right?
Certainly right!
With an invalid passport you will not go far.
Listen to this!
Although many do not want to think about it, with an invalid
faith, you will not go far!
There is only one true faith with which one
can live and die rightly:
faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Yes, Jesus said: "In my Father's house there are many mansions."
But there is only one door in God's dwelling:
"I am the door," - Jesus said, "whoever enters through Me will be saved."
I know that many people do not want to hear about this.
"Jesus?
no!
I'll just put on a candle in the temple,
cross myself, sacrifice something
and that's enough from me."
All this is certainly good, but if you do not know Jesus personally,
then your faith is invalid.
Therefore, I would like to dedicate these series of three videos
of one topic: "Why do I need Jesus".
So the first: Jesus is the revelation of God.
If anyone says: I believe in God!
But who is Jesus?
I will answer that God is the inmost God.
Without Jesus, nothing can be known about God.
There are people who read the Old Testament and they have
a lot of questions.
Perhaps you are among those who may ask:
why does God allow this and that ..
The destruction of people, the killing of people..
God is cruel!
People come to this conclusion,
after hearing some biblical stories, as well as what they see
on TV and on the Internet.
Crimes and murders, wars and violence.
Where is God?
Why is He so cruel that he permits all this?
And in response I want to ask a counter question:
do you guys think you know something about God?
What we read in the Old Testament is only the tip
of the iceberg.
But it is only in the New Testament that God begins to reveal himself to people
in a tangible way: through Jesus Christ.
Jesus is God's revelation.
Imagine a dense smokescreen
behind which God is hidden.
People cannot live without Him.
In fact, every person
has an inner longing for God.
Even among the notorious criminals there is an inner attraction
to God.
This is inherent in the human soul.
And then people start looking for Him.
They try to penetrate the veil.
This is the effort of religions.
All religions are a human quest for God.
All religions share one thing: they are lost
in the fog, they have not found God.
God is an incomprehensible God.
One person, from the Old Testament, whose name was
Isaiah, understood this and said: "Lord, we cannot comprehend
You,
Oh, if You would break the heavens and come down!"
And imagine: God heard this cry.
He broke the smoke screen and came to us in Jesus.
When the angels in the Bethlehem field chanted: "Now the Savior
is born to you!"
Then God descended to us.
Later, Jesus Himself will say: "And he that sees me sees him
that sent me."
Think about this!
Only 2000 years ago, God Himself was present
human people.
He could be touched, people could ask questions to Him,
see His character.
And looking at Jesus, we can find out exactly what
God is like.
Looking at Jesus, we see that God is the
God of love.
After all, these words belongs to Jesus: "Bless those
who curse you, do good to those who hate; pray for those
who offend you.."
You can only really look at God by looking
at Jesus Christ.
So, why do I need Jesus?
The first reason: to truly know
about God.
to be continued...
