My name is Jean Fink.

I'm married to Mark Fink

who is a retired Lieutenant Commander

from the United States Navy.

Mark is a very caring and conscientious, loving man.

He feels deeply about his fellow vets.

My name is Mark Fink and I live in Tomah Wisconsin.

I took a job at the VA to continue

what I figured was my mission continuing taking care of my buddies.

but then I was also a patient there too.

When I turned 60 years old,

I had depression, PTSD, chronic anxiety disorder.

Their way of treating me for the depression

was to just give me more medication.

It's started with two, then it started with three,

then it started with five. Then he was up to seven.

We had medications coming in the mail

every single week from the Tomah VA.

I know what was happening with me was happening

was happening with everybody. I could see it.

Pain management is a very complicated kind of thing

you can't throw a bunch of pills at it

and expect it to be managed.

Guys were, you would see them come in and they

they were just kind of shuffling along, you know

cause they were just so zoned out on whatever they were on.

The Tomah VA didn't listen.

They were deaf to what was going on.

They just ignored a lot of it.

The vets paid the price. The families paid the price.

They do not deserve the treatment that they have received there.

The Tomah VA let us down.

U.S.-Taiwan travel bill angers China - Duration: 0:57.

China slammed the U.S. Senate Thursday for unanimously passing a bill aimed at promoting

closer American ties with Taiwan.

The legislation, passed the day before, calls for officials at all levels to travel to and

from the United States and self-governing Taiwan, allowing for closer business and cultural

exchanges.

"China is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to it.......

We urge the U.S. to uphold the One-China policy, stay committed to the Three Sino-U.S. Joint

Communiques, stop official exchanges and substantial improvement of ties with Taiwan, and properly

deal with Taiwan-related issues with prudence so as to avoid disturbance and damage to the

China-U.S. relationship."

The bill, which is awaiting President Trump's signature, comes at a time when Washington-Beijing

ties are not at their best due to trade issues.

Puerto Ricans become US citizens to fight in WWI - 3/2/1917 - Duration: 0:57.

- Today in military history, 1917,

President Woodrow Wilson grants U.S. citizenship

to Puerto Ricans and calls upon them

to serve in World War I.

Puerto Rico had been a territory of the United States

since 1898 when the U.S. defeated Spain

in the Spanish-American War.

On March 2, 1917,

Wilson signed the Jones-Shafroth Act,

which granted statutory citizenship,

created a bill of rights for the territory,

and separated its government into three branches.

Two months later, Wilson signed

a compulsory military service act.

By July of 1917,

236,000 Puerto Ricans were registered for the draft

and nearly 20,000 would serve in the great war.

Puerto Rico would defend the Panama Canal

and serve on the western front,

and Puerto Ricans would faithfully

continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces,

including World War II, the Korean War,

Vietnam, the Gulf War, and in post-9/11 conflicts.

Deep State Leaks Nickname Trump Has For AG Jeff Sessions, Immediately Backfires - Duration: 4:51.

Deep State Leaks Nickname Trump Has For AG Jeff Sessions, Immediately Backfires

The desperate deep state has turned up nothing after a year of searching by Special Counsel

Robert Mueller, so it seems they've resorted to leaking the alleged nickname President

Donald Trump uses for Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

They didn't expect this to backfire — but it did, spectacularly.

According to a report by The Washington Post, which is known for being a landing zone for

ill-intended leaks, President Donald Trump allegedly calls Attorney General Jeff Sessions

by the nickname "Mr. Magoo."

The Post reports that two different sources who spoke with Trump substantiate this claim.

I'm not entirely sure who it is the deep state and liberal media think they are hurting

with this leak, but it comes at the same time that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is focusing

on trying to find some kind of obstruction over the number of times President Trump has

wanted to fire AG Sessions.

Unfortunately for the deep state hacks and liberal media, their ominous leak about "Mr.

Magoo" backfired on them badly.

This kind of behavior makes all the Trump-haters in our government look desperate and petty

because no one cares.

It's no secret that Trump and Sessions have a bad relationship, and it's also no mystery

that Sessions is to blame for it.

Sessions knew that he was going to recuse himself after accepting the job of Attorney

General, but he didn't tell the President.

All the while, he knew that the deep state power players, who were still foaming at the

mouth after Hillary Clinton lost the election, would go after Trump tooth and nail.

Naturally, Trump has become frustrated with Sessions and his complete lack of honesty

and integrity.

Any boss in their right mind who hired someone for an important job would be pissed if that

employee decided a day later that they were going to shirk their responsibility.

If I were Trump, I would be calling Sessions quite a few different things not appropriate

for publication and far worse than "Mr. Magoo."

Furthermore, those who support President Trump and voted for him are likely just as frustrated

with AG Sessions as the President is, so it's almost comforting to know Trump is just as

annoyed as we are.

For far too long, we wondered why Sessions was getting away with failing to do the job

he was hired to do.

It's good to know Trump agrees that Sessions is a do-nothing Attorney General as the President

has finally been making that more than abundantly clear.

Most recently, Trump lashed out at Sessions on Twitter for his incompetence and failure

to appoint a second Special Counsel or utilize lawyers within the Department of Justice to

investigate former President Barack Obama's FISA abuse scandal.

Trump's tweet said, "Why is A.G. Jeff Sessions asking the Inspector General to investigate

potentially massive FISA abuse.

Will take forever, has no prosecutorial power and already late with reports on Comey etc.

Isn't the I.G. an Obama guy?

Why not use Justice Department lawyers?

DISGRACEFUL!"Echoing Trump's thoughts on Sessions' absence of moral turpitude

was Judge Andrew Napolitano who appeared on Fox Business Network's Varney & Co to weigh

in on the situation.

Napolitano let loose on the Attorney General, whom he considers a personal friend.

Napolitano told Fox Business News anchor Stuart Varney, "That's going to take forever,"

referring to Inspector General Michael Horowitz investigating the FISA abuse carried out by

the Obama administration.

"The Inspector General cannot indict, the Inspector General only reports whether or

not internal justice department…regulations have been violated," he added.

"Give it to a team of FBI agents and let them investigate whether or not the law was

violated!"

Napolitano exclaimed.

"That's what the president is commenting on," he continued. When Varney asked Napolitano

if he was dissatisfied with Sessions, Judge Napolitano replied, "Do we still have an

Attorney General?"

adding, "I feel badly about this personally…because he's my friend, but he seems to be not there…all

he seems to be doing is making speeches, not running the DOJ.

I think the president shares that frustration."

The only person who should feel bad in this situation is Jeff Sessions.

He single-handedly hijacked the justice system and paved the way for Barack Obama's henchmen

to keep his nasty political battle going against President Donald Trump.

There is no forgiveness for that kind of treachery, and "Mr. Magoo" should resign if he has

even one drop of integrity left.

U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams - Duration: 1:08.

Jerome Adams: I'm a physician.

I have a master's degree in public health.

I'm the United States Surgeon General and my

family is suffering from substance use disorder.

My brother Phillip is in prison due to crimes he

committed to support his addiction.

His illnesses affected my entire family --

emotionally, medically, and financially.

As a trauma anesthesiologist,

I've seen things that would make the average person

cringe, but nothing has shaken me quite like

seeing the barbed wire and the thick metal bars when

I first visited my little brother in state prison.

It was all the more agonizing because despite

my knowledge and my experience,

I couldn't prevent or fix his illness.

I'm hopeful that by sharing my story, it will

help people understand that addiction touches

every community and that they are not alone.

That's why I'm asking everyone to partner with

me in this fight for a healthier country.

Because for me, and for all too many Americans,

stopping the opioid epidemic is not only pressing,

it's personal.

I encourage you to share your story along with mine

so that we can break the stigma.

Did Melania Trump Get A US Visa Thanks To This Photo? - Duration: 4:07.

Melania Trump née Knauss could have secured US residency thanks to a GQ photo shoot in

January 2000, which might end up being the most politically important magazine photo

shoot in recent history.

Since we republished the photographs of Melania Knauss in early 2016 - featuring the then-girlfriend

of Donald Trump appearing scantily dressed on the wing of his private Boeing 727, wielding

a silver M1911 pistol - the photo shoot has been ever-present in the US national consciousness.

It sparked a vicious argument between Republican candidate Ted Cruz and Trump; was Googled

tens of millions of times by curious Americans; and ended up on the list of things that Melania

Trump is most proud of on her White House biography page as First Lady of the United

States.

Now the Washington Post reports that this photo shoot might have helped Melania Knauss

secure permanent residency in the United States under a visa program designed for Oscar-winners,

Olympic athletes and nuclear physicists.

Only those with "extraordinary abilities" or who have demonstrated "sustained national

and international acclaim" are able to secure an EB-1 Visa, created under the US Immigration

Act of 1990, which Melania was granted in late 2001.

It was in 2000 that Melania Knauss applied for such a visa: at the time, her notable

achievements were the aforementioned GQ photo shoot, appearances on runways at fashion shows

in Europe and a spot in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.

In 2001, she was granted one of only 3,376 EB-1 visas, a fraction of the one million

green cards issued that year.

Ironically, Melania is now using this visa to secure legal residency for her parents,

something that her husband President Trump has criticised immigrants for doing.

Melania Trump entered the United States in 2001 after receiving a green card visa designated

for people with "extraordinary ability," according to a new Washington Post report.

The wife to President Trump was one of only five people from Slovenia who entered the

United States in March of 2001 under the EB-1 program, which has been described as the "Einstein

visa."

This detail surrounding the first lady's immigration journey comes after Melania's own parents

recently faced criticism for potentially relying on an immigration process referred to by some

as "chain migration" that their son in law wants to end.

In the late '90s and earlier 2000's, a then Melania Knauss could be seen gracing runway

shows in Europe, billboard cigarette ads and the pages of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit

edition.

The EB-1 program, which was written into U.S. immigration policy via the Immigration Act

of 1990, was built to let in researchers, business executives and others who demonstrated

"sustained national and international acclaim."

According to the Post, over one million green cards were granted in 2001 alone, and only

3,376 were issued to immigration with "extraordinary ability."

"Mrs. Trump was more than amply qualified and solidly eligible," Michael Wildes, an

attorney for Melania Trump and her family said to the Post.

"There is no reason to adjudicate her petition publicly when her privacy is so important

to her."

After ordering the end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy -- which will

effectively cease to exist as policy on March 5 -- President Trump has tweeted many times

about immigration as he and Capitol Hill lawmakers attempt to find middle ground on issues surrounding

national security, border wall protection and the status of an estimated 3.6 million

"DREAMers" who brought to the U.S. undocumented as children.

U.S.-Taiwan travel bill angers China - Duration: 1:14.

closer American ties with Taiwan.

The legislation, passed the day before, calls for officials at all levels to travel to and

from the United States and self-governing Taiwan, allowing for closer business and cultural

exchanges.

However, China sees Taiwan as its own and ineligible to forge state relations.

The U.S. move would imply that it considers Taiwan to be a sovereign nation, sparking

anger from Beijing.

The bill, which is awaiting President Trump's signature, comes at a time when Washington-Beijing

ties are not at their best.

Both sides are already at loggerheads over trade, and the latest move has only added

to tensions.

How I conspired with Ali against US, Gowon 43 years ago - Obasanjo opens up - Duration: 3:59.

A former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has revealed a 43-year old secret held dearly between him and a former federal commissioner for education, Amadu Ali.

Obasanjo during the launch of Ali's biography, "Many Colours Of A Rainbow", at the Shehu Yar' Adua Centre, Abuja on Thursday, March 1, revealed how he conspired with Ali to occupy a building used by a United States agency, The Nation reports.

He said Ali had approached him (Obasanjo) to seek for intervention over the building in 1975 because, he (Ali), a then commissioner for education needed the building.

Obasanjo said he mobilised soldiers to the building used as an operational office for the agency as early as 4am. The soldiers barricaded the building, prevented staff of the agency from gaining access into the building.

Obasanjo said: "So a few days after, I conspired with Amadu and mobilised troops to surround the building as early as 4am.

When the officials of the agency came to report for work in the morning, soldiers prevented them from entering the building. That was how I seized the building for Ahmadu and his staff.

Then hell was let loose. The United States government protested the action, which sparked a bitter diplomatic row between the U.S. and the then Federal Military Government, headed by Gen. Gowon.

Consequently, Obasanjo was summoned to Dodan Barracks, where he said he was tongue-lashed by Gowon and other superior officers at the time. I was scolded and dressed down by General Gowon and other superior officers for my actions.

I was seriously washed down.. He said the then military head of state, Yakubu Gowon, was furious over his actions and tongue lashed him then. Obasanjo added that Gowon was shocked when the revelation was made.

"General Gowon was shocked earlier this morning when I told him that it was actually Ahmadu that instigated the action.

He asked me why I did not say it then and I told him that I did not want to expose my friend, Obasanjo said.

Confirming Obasanjos story, Gowon who was also present at the event as the father of the day said: "That incident caused us serious embarrassment and I really tongue-lashed Obasanjo.

But for his good service record, he would have been made to face the consequences. It's only this morning that he confessed to me that Ahmadu Ali was deeply involved in that action..

He also narrated his student days at the Barewa College, Zaria with Ali. Gowon said: That Ahmadu Ali you see there is a short man devil but very intelligent..

we earlier reported that Ali had revealed the role Obasanjo played in ensuring that the past president Goodluck Jonathan became a running mate to late Umaru YarAdua.

Ali said Jonathan preferred to remain a governor of Bayelsa state and never wanted to become a vice president of the country.

He said YarAdua who was selected to run for presidency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party choose Jonathan as his running mate.
