Woman Takes Sneak Photo Behind Old Man: Reveals What Waitress Is Doing With His Food

It's often said that the youth of today have no respect for their elders.

In certain instances, that's perfectly true; young people should show more appreciation

for those who helped build our country as we know it today.

However, it's not always the case.

There are plenty of actions performed each day by young people that deserve to be raised

into the spotlight.

This is one such story.

It's my hope that we can help it to spread, and that as a result it cause ripples on the

pond that go on to affect a large number of people.

Last Saturday, 18-year-old Evoni Williams stood behind a counter and worked her usual

shift at Waffle House in Houston.

It was there that she noticed an elderly man requiring the support of an oxygen tank.

He was struggling to cut his food apart.

The old man's hands didn't work as well as they once had, so Evoni reached out to

him in a bid to help.

"Without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham," wrote patron

Laura Wolf.

She was so touched by the action, that she uploaded a picture of it to Facebook.

"This may seem small, but to him, I'm sure it was huge," Wolf continued.

"I'm thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day

while everything in this world seems so negative."

Almost a week later, this act of simple kindness has been shared more than 40,000 times on

Facebook, according to US news sites.

Furthermore, the picture soon reached the Texas Southern University School, who have

apparently offered Evoni a scholarship worth $16,000.

It was a life-changing gift for Williams, who graduated from high school in May and

has been working at Waffle House since then to save money for university.

The girl herself said that she was honoured by the praise and appreciation, but that she

didn't see her actions as being anything out of the ordinary.

"I didn't know the photo was taken until a couple hours later," Williams told the

Houston Chronicle.

According to the 18-year-old herself, it was obvious that she should be helping the old

man.

"When I saw it, it's just something I would do for anybody."

Such stories really warm the heart.

The world needs more special people like you, Evoni.

It's great that this wonderful act led to a scholarship.

Please share this story . Perhaps it will inspire more people to perform charitable

acts in their every day lives.

WHAT IS GOD? - (Where is God?) - Contemplate This - Dr. Michelle Medrano - Episode 8 - [ CSL ] - Duration: 4:58.

Hi, this is Michelle Medrano and I'm here with another episode of Contemplate This,

where we consider your spiritual questions.

Today, I have a little, insignificant, not very important question that I want to contemplate,

but I thought I'd bring it to you all; What is God?

Not a very important question, just probably 'The Question.'

The question that has caused many of us to launch on a search.

The perennial question that humanity is trying to answer.

And so, I can give you an articulation of what Science of Mind and Spirit believes God

to be, what our founder, Ernest Holmes, talked about what God to be, and my own experience

of what God might be.

What I know is that each one of us has to find our own sense of God for ourselves.

I point to myself because we believe, here at Mile Hi Church, that God is not some far

off experience out there, It is All There Is.

It Is Everything.

I've often heard it said it's like we're a fish swimming in an ocean wondering where

the water is, that it's everywhere present, that we are in It and It is in us.

And I say 'It' because we believe that God is transcendent of gender, that God is

neither a he nor a she, but God is a presence that is principled, that responds equally

to all beings everywhere, and yet, we believe that God is this Divine Love.

I often feel like God is the most magnificent unconditional love beyond anything that human

beings could ever imagine.

And so It's Love and It's Law, that's what Ernest Holmes, our founder, used to say.

'It's Love and Law.'

It's Love in that it is this presence that cherishes every part of creation.

There's no being, no experience, no thing that this God-Presence is disappointed in.

That it's absolutely pleased with all that is, including you, including me.

And at the same time, It's Principle in that It responds to us, that we've been

made in the image and likeness of It.

And therefore, we can think and speak our word and have intentionality and set energy

in motion utilizing our Godhood to create the life that we would like to create, individually

and collectively.

And so this presence is very personal, very present, very here right now.

And while I can talk about all of this, I can do my best to describe what we believe

God to be, the reality is that each one of us yearns for and seeks our own experience

of the Divine.

And so for that, what I would suggest is that throughout our life we've been having it.

It's in every experience that we've ever had.

That presence is who we are and what is contained in the scope of our life.

So we can't not experience God.

But I understand the desire of a heart and a soul to really feel a deepend sense of that

presence, and for that, my own path to that is mostly born out of inner meditation practice,

it's often born out of some transcendent experience; I remember the day that my son

was born.

I knew there was a God that day as I looked into his eyes, as I've watched countless

sunsets, I don't do sunrise very well because it's just not in my body clock, but I got

lots of sunsets.

I have seen and witnessed God as I've looked at faces and hearts and talked to people throughout

my whole life, I have witnessed God; God in the glory, God in the mundane, God even in

the challenge.

So I welcome the opportunity to see God in every way I can and I invite you to join me

in that this week.

To look around and to see and witness with awe and wonder, the face in the mirror, as

well as all that exists beyond that and see and name it and know it is Spirit, that it

is God, it is the Divine.

Have a wonderful, wonderful week.

I welcome any questions or comments you want to make below.

I welcome you to subscribe to this wonderful show so that you can know when we're broadcasting

and if you're watching us on Face Book, again, feel free to comment or add your questions.

Have a great week.

Man Utd news: What Jose Mourinho was REALLY writing in his notepad against Liverpool - Duration: 2:18.

Man Utd news: What Jose Mourinho was REALLY writing in his notepad against Liverpool

A first-half double from Marcus Rashford ensured the Red Devils took all three points away from Old Trafford. And master tactician Mourinho was hard at work on the sidelines throughout the weekends early kick off.

Sky Sports cameras twice captured the Portuguese coach writing in his notepad. And a close up shot has revealed exactly what Mourinho was thinking.

Despite the former Chelsea boss very messy handwriting, it can be seen that he wrote 2nd ball in the first sentence.

And the word Rom can be deciphered in the second part of the message, referring to United forward Romelu Lukaku. However, the rest of the note is hastily scribbled and far too messy to be worked out.

Mourinho is making a habit of writing notes for his players during a match. Midway through Uniteds 2-1 win over Chelsea last month, the Red Devils boss cheekily passed an instruction to midfielder Nemanja Matic.

In typical Mourinho fashion, his side won in uninspiring style against Liverpool. And the managers tactics have once again been called into question by the media.

But speaking after the crucial win, Mourinho said: We can split the halves - United first half and Liverpool second but in my opinion our first half was a half with goals and danger.

In the second half - in my opinion, and probably the people in the studio have a different opinion - was Liverpool controlling with the ball and United controlling without the ball. Our team was always in control.

Even in set pieces, corners, dangerous situations we were in control so I think we deserved it..
