U.S. Air Force, over the weekend, deployed one of its B-2 stealth bombers to the Pacific

in a show of force to Pyongyang.

According to the U.S. Strategic Command, the bomber flew from Whiteman Air Force Base in

Missouri but did not specify where it went in the Pacific.

The B-2 is capable of carring nuclear bombs and has been mostly operated from Andersen

Air Force Base on Guam.

The U.S. has been increasing its military presence in the region.

Just last week, two more U.S. carriers joined the Japan-based USS Ronald Reagan in the area...

and the U.S. sent F-22 and F-35 fighter jets to South Korea.

US gearing up for WAR? Donald Trump will KEEP emergency strike powers passed after 9/11

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the 2001 and 2002 War Authorisations should not be repealed and are a "sound basis for ongoing military operations".

The legislation allowed then-President George Bush to launch the Iraq invasion and action against all those he deemed responsible for the terror attack.

The US government now looks likely to keep the measures in its fight against ISIS and other terror groups. Trump's national security aides urged lawmakers not to impose geographic or time limits on military campaigns.

"We are more likely to end this fight sooner if we don't tell our adversary the day we intend to stop fighting" Secretary Of State Rex Tillerson Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis said: "War is fundamentally unpredictable." He and Tillerson argued the current authorisations should not be repealed until new ones are in place.

But concerns over Congress' lack of control have escalated this month after four US soldiers were killed in Niger. Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said: "What's happening in Niger and more broadly in Africa suggests a greater urgency for an AUMF.

"I think the extent of the operation, the number of countries, will be surprising to people." Those calling for new authorisations say the US government has the power to wage war whenever and wherever it wants.

Democrat Senator Ben Cardin said: "I do not think the American people want the United States conducting a global, endless 'Shadow War' under the radar, covert and beyond scrutiny." But Mattis said imposing limitations would only help the US' enemies.

He added: "We are more likely to end this fight sooner if we don't tell our adversary the day we intend to stop fighting.".

Army of the undead vs. the US Army? - Duration: 1:38.

How would the Army of the United States

take on an army of the undead?

For this scenario,

let's assume the zombie outbreak

caught the world by surprise.

It wouldn't but for funsies,

let's say, oh, Russia and its 144 million people

are now zombies,

and that the Russian military only managed

to take down 10% of the zombie hordes.

On active duty,

the US has over 450,000 soldiers,

182,000 Marines,

323,000 sailors,

and 325,000 airmen,

so what could 632,000 ground combatants

supported by the largest Navy

and the most advanced air force in the world

possibly do against 130 million zombies?

They would kill an average of 205.7 zombies each,

and it would be awesome.

The Navy would park multiple carrier groups

in the Baltic and Bering Seas.

Strike aircraft and sensor platforms

would find the largest zombie clusters.

Air Force A-10s and AC-130s

would rain hot lead

in support of ground pounders,

while B and F-series planes

blanket the countryside with bombs.

Finally, guilt-free carpet bombing is back,

and the Marine core and army

are gonna have the entertaining range day

they've ever had.

Guess what?

No one's gonna order a range halt

because of a turtle

when a biomenace is marching toward Paris.

The biggest is gonna be making sure

that everyone has enough ammo.

Hell, the operation could probably be catered.

Russia AND the US send nuclear bombers to North Korea as tensions soar in row over Kim Jong-un - Duration: 3:00.

Russia AND the US send nuclear bombers to North Korea as tensions soar in row over Kim

Jong-un The US sent a nuclear capable B-2 stealth

bomber from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri on a long-range mission to the Pacific this

weekend

RUSSIA and the US have flown nuclear bombers near North Korea as tensions grow over tyrant

Kim Jong-un's nuclear threats.

President Donald Trump sent a nuclear capable B-2 stealth bomber from Whiteman Air Force

Base in Missouri on a long-range mission to the Pacific this weekend.

And the Russian Defence Ministry today announced that US and Japanese jets escorted Russia's

missile-carrying Tupolev-95MS strategic bombers during flights over the Sea of Japan and the

Pacific Ocean.

A spokesman said: "Two strategic bombers Tupolev-95MS of Russia's Aerospace Force have carried

out routine flights over international waters of the Sea of Japan and the western part of

the Pacific Ocean.

"At certain sections of the route the Tupolev-95MS crews were accompanied by a pair of F-18 fighters

(of the US Air Force), and a pair of F-15, F-4 and F-2A fighters (of the Japanese Air

Force)."

The threat of nuclear missile attack by North Korea is accelerating, US defence secretary

Jim Mattis warned at the weekend.

Mattis made his remarks as he accused the North's leader Kim Jong-un of "illegal and

unnecessary missile and nuclear programmes".

Speaking in Seoul alongside South Korean defence minister Song Young-moo, he warned: "North

Korea has accelerated the threat that it poses to its neighbours and the world."

Because of this, he said, military collaboration between the US and South Korea had taken on

"a new urgency".

Mattis added: "Any use of nuclear weapons by the North will be met with a massive military

response."

The North says it needs nuclear weapons to counter US efforts to strangle its economy

and overthrow the Kim government.

Nato chief Jens Stoltenberg called North Korea a "global threat" today and said he backed

tighter sanctions against it during a visit to Japan, which has been targeted by Pyongyang's

provocations.

Stoltenberg is in Tokyo to meet Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other senior officials including

defence minister Itsunori Onodera later in the day.

North Korea in horror WW3 threat as it vows to reduce US 'to ASHES' - Duration: 3:44.

North Korea in horror WW3 threat as it vows to reduce US 'to ASHES'

The US and its allies have stepped up joint exercises on the peninsula in recent weeks – a move that has infuriated tubby tyrant Kim Jong-un.

It comes after a series of reckless nuclear tests by the hermit kingdom and Kim's threat to detonate a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean.

The dictator has now vowed devastating consequences for the US unless it backs down and threatened to unleash World War 3.

A statement from propaganda rag Rodong Sinmun reads: "No matter how desperately the US imperialists may try, claiming 'sanctions and retaliatory punishment', the DPRK will never be frightened. "The DPRK has always won victory in the standoff with the US imperialists.

"The arrogant Trump administration should stop the war provocation moves and hostile policy toward the DPRK, though belatedly, clearly understanding that if they ignite a war on the Korean peninsula, the whole land of the US would reduce to ashes so that there would be no one left to sign a surrender document." The regime has stepped up its rhetoric against US President Donald Trump in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, North Korean troops were seen decapitating the Commander in Chief in shocking propaganda.

"The DPRK has always won victory in the standoff with the US imperialists" Rodong Sinmun The leaflets were smuggled over the border into South Korea and found scattered in Seoul.

One side shows the President's severed head while the other brands him "crazy" and depicts him as a dog with a missile in his mouth.

It produced other shocking pictures showing nukes pointing at a burning Capitol Hill, and troops taking out a US plane.  Russian bombers were today spotted on a mission between North Korea and Japan.

Two of Vladimir Putin's nuclear capable Tu-95 "Bears" were detected flying over the Sea of Japan.

Fighter jets from Tokyo's JASDF were scrambled to intercept the two planes as they turned to circle Japan's northern-most island of Hokkaido. The warplanes flew over just days after the US dispatched a nuclear B-2 bomber over the Pacific.

US forces have been packing the region as the world awaits the arrival of Trump for a tour next week. Putin has urged both North Korea and the US to back down from military confrontation amid threats of annihilation.

Daily Star Online previously revealed which side Russia would take if the US attacked North Korea.

'Do not doubt the US-Japan alliance!' Tokyo's warning to North Korea ahead of Trump visit

Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasutoshi Nishimura told reporters that and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to work together to counter 's nuclear and missile programmes in order to reduce tensions in the region.

In a 20-minute phone call the two leaders agreed the schedule for the Us President's trip and confirmed they would remain in close contact over the North Korea tensions.

Trump told Abe he is looking forward to his visit to Japan, that Japan and America are 100 percent together and there is no room to doubt the Japan-US alliance, Nishimura said.

He added: They agreed to deepen their discussions on the North Korean situation and other matters.". Trump is set to arrive in Tokyo on Sunday for a three-day visit before he continues on to South Korea, the Philippines, China and Vietnam.

The President will be entertained by Pikotaro, the fake-moustached singer behind the Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen hit, while also enjoying a round of golf with Mr Abe and the world's number four golfer Hideki Matsuyama.

He is also expected to meet the emperor as well as the parents of Megumi Yokata, who was kidnapped by North Korean agents in 1977 while she was walking home from school at just 13-years-old.

Japan's relations with North Korea have grown increasingly tense in recent months after Pyongyang fired two missiles over the country. Sirens sounded and Japanese residents received text alerts warning them to take shelter as the missile passed over Hokkaido last month.

Mr Abe responded: We can never tolerate that North Korea trampled on the international communitys strong, united resolve toward peace that has been shown in UN resolutions and went ahead again with this outrageous act." The recent launch also demonstrated North Korea's ability to strike the US territory of Guam.

President Trump has been embroiled in an exchange of insults and threats with North Korea for several months, recently goading Kim Jong-un, who he has nicknamed 'Rocket Man', by threatening to "totally destroy" the hermit country if it threatens the US or its allies.

Last week, North Korea claimed it is now a "" in a mysterious letter to Australia.

Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop revealed she had received a letter from the Kim regime in which North Korea insists it will not be brought to its knees by President Trump's repeated nuclear threats.

Addressed to the "parliaments of different countries", the letter condemns Trump's speech at the UN where he boasted the US could "totally destroy" North Korea before announcing his rogue state had joined the world's nuclear club.

The letter reads: "If Trump thinks that he would bring the DPRK [North Korea], a nuclear power, to its knees through nuclear war threat, it will be a big miscalculation and an expression of ignorance.

"The DPRK has emerged a fully-fledged nuclear power which has a strong nuclear arsenal and various kinds of nuclear delivery means made by dint of self-reliance and self-development. The real foe of nuclear force is a nuclear war itself.

"The Foreign Affairs Committee … takes this opportunity to express belief that the parliaments of different countries loving independence, peace and justice will fully discharge their due mission and duty in realising the desire of mankind for international justice and peace with sharp vigilance against the heinous and reckless moves of the Trump administration trying to drive the world into a horrible nuclear disaster.".

US kicks off nuclear war drill 'Global Thunder' TODAY amid war fears with North Korea

Missiles chiefs will be put through their paces as part of the worldwide annual exercise which began today. US Strategic Command (StratCom) has described the secretive drill as preparing their forces for "wherever they are needed".

Details released by the Pentagon have been sparse, but it understood to involve missiles and bombers. Global Thunder's mission statement is to ready the US's nuclear command centre for war.

Worldwide tensions have reached new highs as the US stares down North Korea while Russia and China watch on.

"Effects against any adversary, anywhere in the world, at any time" General John Hyten US forces are expected to deploy missiles and nuclear-capable warplanes throughout the drill.

Sparse details have been released as to what exactly they will be doing, but first strike and missile defence is expected to top the bill. During last year's drill, B-52 Stratofortesses and B-2 bombers carried out strike missions.

US Air Force General John Hyten said: These exercises achieve the vision of a unified team, integrating all the capabilities of U.S. Strategic Command across the globe wherever and whenever needed.

We need to integrate our strategic capabilities in order to deliver multi-domain effects against any adversary, anywhere in the world, at any time." Daily Star Online revealed the US is expected to live-fire missiles in the Pacific this week from the Marshall Islands.

Response to North Korea is expected to be at the top of the bill amid growing threats from the rogue state.

Tensions have raged between the two nations as US President Donald Trump became locked in a war of words with Kim Jong-un.

North Korea is threatened to detonate the so-called Juche Bird over the Pacific in a move that could trigger World War 3.

Russia has been notified of the Global Thunder drills, as part of their agreement with the US. The superpower has suffered a strained relationship with Washington over North Korea, Syria, Crimea and allegations of election tampering.

Vladimir Putin flew over Tu-95 bombers in the Sea of Japan today in a show of force. US StratCom have not confirmed how long the drills will last – but last year went on for 10 days.

In a statement, the command centre said: Headquarters staff, USSTRATCOM components and subordinate units are participating in Global Thunder 2018 to test readiness to confront uncertainty and ensure a safe, secure, effective and ready strategic deterrent force.

One of nine DOD unified combatant commands, USSTRATCOM has global responsibilities assigned through the Unified Command Plan that include strategic deterrence, space operations, cyberspace operations, joint electronic warfare, global strike, missile defense and intelligence..

North Korea nuclear strike on ALL US states REVEALED in shock warning - Duration: 3:15.

North Korea nuclear strike on ALL US states REVEALED in shock warning

North Korea has tested 22 missiles since February in 2017, including two intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) thought to be capable of reaching the US mainland.

An ICBM is a guided missile with a minimum range of 5,500 km designed to deliver nuclear weapons over long distances.

Although North Korea is around 10,300 km from the US mainland, the US military chief in charge of monitoring the regime has revealed the extent of the threat.

Colonel Sean Larkin, head of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), has confirmed that all US mainland states are within striking distance.

Speaking to CBS News, he explained how NASIC monitors North Korea's missile and nuclear programmes to protect the US.

Based at an air base in Ohio, Larkin and his team of experts analyse satellite imagery for clues North Korea may be about to fire a missile.

By testing ICBMs, North Korea has proved it has the capabilities to target any US state, Larkin said.

He said: The missile tests this summer have demonstrated the ability that they could reach the US. When quizzed how many US states North Korea has within range, he bluntly answered: "All 48 states on the mainland." In July, the secretive state fired an ICBM that traveled 998 km in a "stern warning" to the US.

Larkin said that had the missile been pointed towards the US, California would have been within range. His warning comes just days before US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Asia for a week-long tour.

On November 7, Trump is due to visit South Korea, where he is widely expected to speak about the threat posed by North Korea.

Three aircraft carriers have been deployed to the region in a brazen show of force ahead of the trip. Meanwhile, North Korea carried out rare mass evacuation exercises in preparation for possible US airstrikes.
