This is Millionaire Case Study Episode 66
Yo what's up guys! Today is July 12th 2017 and this is actually a rare take 2
for this episode episode 66. So I started shooting this episode actually super
super early this morning, I stayed up late overnight cleaning up
my office and just kind of resetting everything going through papers and
stuff like that and I was like well at the end I'm gonna shoot my entire case
study but then as I started doing it I was so tired I didn't know what to say.
So got some sleep it's now in the afternoon late afternoon or in the
evening here on Wednesday. So what did I want to talk about in this episode I
think where I want to start with this episode is is going into like the
emotional state that I'm in because that's what I want to be able to
document on this journey for other people to be able to see for me to be
able to go back and watch but so if you've watched all the episodes up to
now a lot has actually been going on with getting new clients and stuff like
that a lot of traveling and there's a lot of highs and lows in life in
business and entrepreneurship in general and certainly on this journey not just
highs and lows of what's happening in terms of sales coming to you or
opportunities or circumstances but also highs and lows in your emotional state.
And the last few days honestly if had I've been in kind of a low I'm pulling
on the other side of it right now the last time I did a Millionaire Case Study
episode was July 1st I think and so that shows I try to do one every week and
I've been trying to do this episode over and over it seems like not many takes
but just like oh I'm going to do that today and just didn't get to it didn't
feel like it and I'm finally shooting it. And it's I don't know why we go through
these lows but I just want to document that they happen and maybe give a little
sense of what I've done to pull through it. So it's what the low felt has
felt like is a lot of overwhelm and I don't know if it's overwhelmed because
I'm stepping into something they'll with like getting all these clients so
there's all these clients that I on on social media that I wanted that I had to
on board and so there's a little bit of stress there but then what it started to
make me do was is not fully doing much in fact it kicked me into this mode of
nostalgia in a really big way and I almost feel like that helped me process
a lot of this like a few days ago on Sunday I spent almost the entire day
looking through my journal and seeing where my life was like 10 years ago
and before like when I was 17 18 because I have a journal I've been journaling
ever since I was 17. I spent most of the day doing that and I don't know it's I
that seemed to feel good again I don't know what's cooking me into that another
thing that could be kicking me into it is Becca and I my wife are expecting
our new baby girl any day now and for some reason I think
that experiencing this like to the end of a pregnancy again is kind of
triggering to what it felt like three and a half four years ago when Archie
was coming so I put me in some weird funk but I'm still I'm still not where I
need to be like I need to make some shift because throughout all of this
there's thoughts of like what if I don't get enough business, like I said I want
to get in my last episode what if some people cancel and it's actually less
like there's those thoughts that are like repeating and I'm trying to combat
it. So what have I done to combat at it I think that's something worth talking
about so besides just being nostalgic and kind of processing it that way I've
done quite a bit of meditation that's something that I try to incorporate into
my life ever and so that's helped a bit and also
writing and this has been interesting because I know that writing helps and
writing and just putting out exactly what I'm feeling is a way of like
processing it but even that for whatever reason in
this stage that I've been in it's been so hard to get myself to actually sit
down and write and that's actually why I created a day like today. Today I have
turned off my cell phone so I don't have any distraction from either social media
or people calling me I'm not checking email to kind of give myself this this
space to get clear on what the frick I want to do and to go do it because it
this doesn't feel good being in this space. I want to be in the mode of like
yes I can do it like feel like I can do it and just take action on it and while
I've been in the funk I do feel like I'm on the other side of it. I'm turning the
corner I don't know exactly what put me there or exactly how I'm getting out but
I do feel that it is happening and these other things like meditation and writing
I think are a big part of that and after this episode is done after I'm done
shooting it something I'm gonna do is just sit down do something that I've
done before that I know helps do a brain dump where I just list out every single
thing that's on my mind get it out there pick the ones that are most important
that I need to be doing this week or this month and focus on that. Another
thing that helped too, I don't know if you can see but I used to have a big pile of
papers it's gonna be here to see I just have a big pile of papers in that thing
it's kind of my inbox up here in my office
and I just went through and cleared them all out and you might even notice that
my whatever that board is called that anyway that was covered with papers and
stuff some of there was even inspirational but I was like you know
what it's been there long enough I'm gonna put it away
so I stored most of it in there and I also went through my filing cabinet
and just got rid of a bunch of files that I just don't need and fill up like
a trash bag so trying to just reset myself and reset myself and give myself
space to do I need to do. So the rest of today that's my game that's my game plan
it's to get total clear total clarity on what it is that I need to do between now
the this week that I said this week and this month.
So speaking of this month I want to update on some things the first one is
my hair it's getting too freaking long so to document the ups and downs one of
my major goals for 2017 is to get down to 140 pounds well a month ago I got
down to a month ago I got down to 149 then through the month of June I ate
like shit did not stay true to what I committed to do and I end up gaining it
all the way back up to like 161 162 which pisses me off.
Oh cuz man it just doesn't feel good to to set that golf knowing I could have
been a lot farther and it didn't work so the last few weeks I've really gotten
more serious with this. What I'm doing right now is staying really dang
consistent with a few things first of all staying close to a program that I
know I can do and stick to something I like to stick to is something called
whole 30 just eating real food because that allows me to not have to overthink
it and off to measure and it's usually pretty good food so I'm sticking the
whole 30 pretty well that's the first thing I'm doing. The second thing is
intermittent fasting where I go at least 14 to 16 hours without eating so that I
eat my food within that window and then the third thing is I'm being consistent
with yoga and exercising but something I've barely incorporated this week that
I'm going to be doing more especially starting next week to
end the month is cardio. Insanity Max 30 with Beachbody workout program and then
the final thing that I don't know where I got this it's just an idea I had and
I'm gonna see if it works and that is every week until I hit my goal I'm gonna
do a 2-day fast where I don't eat any food just coffee tea or broth. And over
the past week I just stepped on the scale this morning I'm now down to like
155.8 or something like that I still have like 15 16 pounds to go to my goal
and I just want a freaky and hit it. Because another thing that happened
something that I've been documenting and really looking forward to over this
these last several episodes is getting more paid speaking gigs and a few
episodes back I talked about how some came in to me well I've been going
through the pipeline I got one agreed to I thought I lost it I got it back and I
have a paid speaking gig at the end of this month where I'll be
speaking on social media and I think what's important to know on this one is
besides almost losing it is is it's almost three grand which is awesome
because it's actually paid so that's the big thing is that it's actually paid so
it's happening and they're also gonna pay for my hotel room and stuff like
that but how this is gonna be this is something that's new for me in the sense
that I think I'm speaking longer than I've ever spoken I think it's gonna be
an hour and a half ish so that's a big deal. But two things that I negotiated
with this deal first one I'm gonna have a booth for the whole three-day event I
have not done that before to potentially sell my services.
The third thing or the other thing is I get to make an offer from stage all
right this will be the first time I've ever given an offer at a pitch from
stage. So I'm pretty excited to see how that goes and then I have another
speaking gig that's pretty much looks like it's gonna happen.
We're just finalizing some words on the agreement then it'll be signed and I'll
update you and that happens and then speaking of speaking the other thing
that happened just to update you is I've been wanting to get closer to doing a
TED talk. I submitted myself to a bunch of places and two nights ago I got an
email that says I'm being considered, it's not official or anything but I'm
being considered for a TED talk, a TEDx talk in Las Vegas and part of that
consideration is I can choose to go give a TEDx pitch August 4th and what that's
gonna be is it's basically if I'm selected even do that I replied that
email and said yes I'm interested and if I'm selected for that then I'll go give
a five minute pitch or a five minute talk around the idea that I want to talk
about and so I think if I get that which I'm hopeful for and they like that
five minutes then I'm more likely to get the bigger stage because I'm not
officially getting I'm not if I don't do this Ted X pitch then they're not going
to discount me for the regular TEDx stage but I want to take an advantage of
the opportunity to just give it a shot and then see if it increases my chances
of it happening on the main stage. So that's really what's happening in my
world right now again baby B as we call her actually when you see this we'll
probably already have her named so I'll just say little baby Bell is likely
gonna be born when I release this episode and so she's word aiming to have
her come any day now so that's kind of a big focus of mine
that's one of the reasons I'm staying here not traveling as much and I have a
few clients I'm launching still got one launch that took way too long like a
month to launch which is kind of a bummer because now we don't get paid for
the a second payment to like 30 days after
launch so we like wasted a month on that. But I guess just giving you details on
what's going on so that's my world looking on the other side of this funk.
I'm excited to see how to get back in full gear and just start crushing it to
make this journey, make the most of it make the most of this journey this
millionaire journey that I'm on right now. So I'm gonna wrap it up right there
