How many babies have been named Maleficent? - Duration: 0:59.

The movie Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, was released in mid-2014.

It took the Sleeping Beauty character Maleficent--whose name means "wicked," "vicious" and

"criminal" in Latin--and morphed her from the villain, into…not quite a villain anymore.

It also gave her ridiculous cheekbones.

The movie ended up doing really well at the box office.

The same year that audiences were introduced to a completely revised Maleficent,

the baby name Maleficent appeared for the first time in the U.S. baby name data.

Five baby girls were named Maleficent in 2015.

The movie was eventually replaced at the theaters.

And the baby name Maleficent, so far, has not appeared a second time in the data.

But, apparently, there's a sequel, Maleficent 2, coming up.

So there's a chance the name could come back.

Do you think it will?
