Hey awesome ones. The temperature is rising it's time for Fun in the Sun and
it's also time to change your wardrobe out a little bit. So I'm going to show
you my 10 fav items in just a few seconds.
So my very first item is this teeny-tiny purse. I absolutely love it. And if you
have seen that I've now downsized from those great big heavy purses to a
smaller purse. It's bigger than this one for everyday, but I'll put that up there
because I can get a lot into a small purse now, but I can also get a lot in
this teeny tiny purse which I love for the summertime. And oh let's just see I
got my cell phone in here. I have a lipstick. I've got a tissue, there's a pen
down there. Also if I need to....you don't... I have my credit cards or a little bit of
money or something like that. I even have a little change purse. So it's a fabulous,
fabulous go-to item. It just swings over my shoulder or of course I can do a
crossbody to keep it in the front so I know it's nice and safe and you know if
you're going out to a restaurant with some friends, maybe sitting on a patio or
maybe you're going to a picnic or an outdoor concert, this little baby it
allows you to have a little bit more freedom and hardly even know I'm wearing
it. So my number-two item for summer is a skort. Yeah it looks like a skirt, but it
actually has shorts underneath it. So I feel very very confident in it and I
don't know, I think this little jean skirt er skort looks pretty good and
hey if I was wearing shorts they'd be at least this length. Anyway
shorts just don't look good on me anymore. If I sit down at a patio
they seem to all bunch up. They ride up If I'm in this little baby you know,
first of all if it's too short my shorts are showing and
secondly it just doesn't ride up it's very very comfy and I have a few of
these. Here's another one that I have in black and if you're wondering well where
can we get these you know they're sold for tennis players are sold for women
who golf and also I know they're kind of hard to find. So I will put a link in the
description back to the blog. We're gonna find a few of these for you and they're
also really stretchy too, because they're kind of athletic and back in the blog
where the links are if you do get something I have to say this.....it's the
rules of being a vlogger.....we do get a little bit of commission so thank you so
much for that. You know we're doing two videos a week now so a little bit of
commission really really helps and a big thank you for that. Yeah try out
these skorts. I think you'll be vary happy and I feel comfy and confident and
stylish in them. So my third fun-in-the-sun item are no lace sneakers.
You know, I just slide into these babies. I absolutely love them and there's
something you know with white sneakers or sneakers like this, they really go
with everything. Remember that black skort that I showed
you? Here's another pair of my sneakers that I absolutely love. Again I'm just
slipping right into them. I've got some little insoles there as well and I just
find them, you know what, they....they remind me when I was a kid and fun in the
sun and isn't this the time to be a kid again?
So the fourth item is a lightweight hoodie.
You know I absolutely love a lightweight hoodie and you know....what?.... that's for
summer?.... yes cause the evenings a lot of times they get colder or maybe it starts
raining and I just.....you know I have this in a car or maybe I even sometimes wrap
it around my waist, but this little baby it's, it's a good thing to have because
here we go. It's on real quick. I've had it around my waist. Oh my gosh I'm at
this concert. It's super super cold and zip this up.
Still pretty stylish with my skort and everything and it starts raining....perfect.
All right! So my fifth item for summer.....it's in my back pocket. Sometimes I just
sort of hang them on my neck as well are these teeny tiny little sunglasses. Now
before you say oh my gosh I don't like those, they're not a fashion statement.
What they are are protection for my eyes. Which hey, you know what? You protect your
skin so you've got to protect your retinas and your eyes from all the sun damage as
well. So let's just say that you know, I met with Bill or something like that. I
know there's gonna be a lot of sun. I just pop these little babies on and
yeah! Are they stylish? Maybe not so much, but I'm hardly getting, you know, those
big white lines that you get and the lines up here and I just find them
fabulous. I think the last outfit that I'm going to show you is sort of
cover-ups for swimwear and that sort of thing. So sometime, here's a little hint
for summer that Bill and I like to do. We used to always have swimming pools and
then we downsize. We don't have a pool anymore so some hotels will actually let
you be around their pool for the day. I think it's $40 or something like that. So
if I'm laying out and and got my sunscreen on, but I want to protect my
eyes, these little babies you know, walking around or whatever they were
great and I think they are kind of stylish too. I mean I just love them. So
then you probably think to yourself, okay well she's still gonna get a few little
white marks around her eyes. Perfect because I actually put a white
highlighter up here and dark circles lightened up, what's wrong with that. So
my absolute favorite accessory for summer and you know it's my favorite for
all year round but especially in the summer is my exercise monitor. I
don't know if you can see this....this one is a Fitbit and it tells me the time, but
also it tells me how many steps I've taken. Once you do 10,000 steps and
sometimes at these street festivals and you know walking around parks and that
sort of thing, it's pretty easy to get up to 10,000. It starts vibrating and these
little fireworks come off and I'm like, yes! I made it to the 10,000 steps and
even if I'm at nine thousand eight hundred and forty nine, I kind of go up and
down the stairs at home. So it's really an incentive to do that. The other thing I
love about it, it gives you your approximate heart rate. It tells you how
much distance that you've gone and probably one of the favorite things that
I love is this one is synced to Bluetooth. Which means that if somebody
is calling me on my cell phone I might be in a busy place maybe it is an
outdoor concert or Jazz Festival or something, all of a sudden my wrist, my
my fitbit starts vibrating. I can read it if it's in my contact list who it's from
and the first few words of what they're saying. So if it's not urgent, it's like
okay I don't have to worry about that. If it is urgent I'm on it. So how great is
that? These things are absolutely wonderful.
Technology is amazing sometimes. So my seventh favorite item are capri pants.
What a great great summer item. You know you can keep them kind of dressy, they go
with almost everything. You can buy them in all different colors. Right in my
hand here, I have a white pair that I also have. I can show you a
little bit of the style that I like as well.
Higher waistband, stretchy, also this has a faux fly in it. So what I'm getting
here with this kind of look is, (I know white on white doesn't really
work), but I'm getting everything kind of pushed in here.
Like shapewear and I kind of like that. So you know they're comfortable,
they're stretchy and I can dress them up or dress them down. Capris....they're
absolutely fabulous for the summer. So number eight. Hey aren't we kind of
living in flip-flops and sandals during the summertime? Well if you're one of the
people that just want your feet to kind of breathe and stay out of the hot shoes
a pair of flip-flops like these are absolutely fabulous. Now I'm going to
point something out to you. Now these were pretty inexpensive, but in a lot of
the better shoe stores you can find flip-flops or sandals and I think this
was only $35, but you see how they're kind of raised here in the arch?
Those cheap ones the flip-flops that you get at the dollar store and that sort of
thing, walking on concrete and that, you're doing absolutely nothing for your
arches. Later on in life if you don't already have it right now, you're going
to pay for it. Actually I did a video on flat shoes. I'll put it up there
somewhere, where I talked about inserts that you
can put in your shoes and all that sort of thing, but try to find something that
has a bit of an arch like this and not just flat to the ground. Also aren't they
pretty? Arn't the jewel tones absolutely beautiful? And I'm wearing a pair on my
feet right now. Another jewel tone with a little
bit more of that arch support that I'm talking about and also make sure that
you do something with your toes. Give yourself a little pedicure.
Something along those lines. I picked blue for today. I like to change
it up a little bit and also watch my at-home pedicure. I'll put the link up
there as well. So you're all ready for summer and well we're already into
summer, but you're enjoying it. So my number 9 find. I found this great eyelet.
I think that's what it's called. It's got holes in it anyway, eyelet top. Now when I
saw it on the rack in the store I went, I don't know if I like that. It was just a
plain shirt kind of thing. But you gotta think
change it up a little bit. You gotta think summer! So what I decided to do was.....
I've tied a knot right here in the front.
I also tucked, you know, you can see that it's just a normal shirt right? So I kind
of tucked it underneath a camisole and I've got a very very lightweight cami on
underneath here and so it's really breathing. I'm feeling so nice and cool,
well its hot outside, but you know, cooler considering I'm wearing a few sleeves
and that. And if I'm sort of invited someplace a little fancier, you do want
to really really be cool and "be cool". Yeah, anyway and this little baby really works
for me. Alright, so last but not least is the bathing suit cover-up. Now wait don't
turn this off because unless you can't swim, if you can swim you should be
swimming and enjoying lakes and swimming pools and all kinds of fun things in the
summertime. I mentioned how Bill and I, we just go to a hotel and some of them they
let you stay there for the day. It's absolutely amazing! Just think about when
you used to go swimming, if you've stopped because of the bathing suits
kind of idea and you felt the water as you went under the water and the
coolness all over you and then you, you go and you lie down and you get a few
rays, with uh sunscreen on of course, but I am making a point about this outfit.
I really wanted to say that before I got into it. So what do I do?
First of all I don't care you know if somebody wants to judge me on how I look
in a bathing suit. Go right ahead .My husband loves me and
you know what? It's fine and he doesn't care about how I look. He wants
to see a smile on my face when I'm having
lots of fun. So I got this little baby here, I hope you can hear with a
plane going over, but this is just a dress that I found in a store and it's
kind of a bandeau thing. So basically I've got the bathing suit on underneath
and I just pull up this bando. I also if you can do a little close-up here Bill? I
put some.....watch it Hurricane. He just loves to be part of the videos here.So
anyway, I just put some little safety pins here and I can attach it to my
little bathing suit top straps. If I'm at a poolside I can grab a drink. If
friends have invited me over you know, hey let's go swimming in my pool, I can
keep this on most the time. Feel absolutely comfortable. If I do take a
little dip in the pool I'm just sort of scurrying this back on and the nice
thing about you know after I have some some SPF on, I can just sort of get a
really great tan this way, because it's bando. If I'm laying down I can sort
of put this skirt up a little bit and get my legs real tanned. Why am I
holding this one? Well because I liked it so much I got another one in a peach
color. Which is really really pretty if I'm at a resort and my bathing
suit is getting wet, I can wear my other bathing suit which has peach colors in
it and there you go. I got another cover-up. Don't stop we only have so many
summers, you've heard me say it before, don't stop swimming in pools jumping in
the lake and enjoying and if it's a bathing suit that's stopping you, uh-uh,
go enjoy yourself. Who cares what they think. So another thing that's amazing are our
subscribers. You guys are just amazing. Just love you so much and Hurricane
don't we just love them. Even Hurricane has got his summer accessory on. His
little hat and if you think it's kind of a silly accessory for a dog, I've talked
to some people and they said to have a little brim on your dog actually is a
good thing. It helps protect their eyes and keeps
sun off the top of their head. So Hurricane doesn't have.....Hurricane you
don't have a problem with your hat right? He kind of likes it. I think he's getting
a little bit thirsty, so I've got to bring him in in a second. He wanted to be
around me of course when I was doing the video, so that's what he was doing.
