Auto news on Youtube Jul 5 2018

Hello guys. I am Peter from Build a Boeing. The mailman arrived today and he was carrying this.

You might be able to see it's from eBay and if you look down the corner you can see

it's also from the United States.

So what is it? Well, let's have a look...

Down here in the box together with a local newspaper from the Tennessee Valley we

find some interesting stuff.

Neatly packed in bubble wrap we find things like this.

Which is an audio control panel from a Boeing 737

We also find...

a weather radar panel from a Boeing 737

Together with a...

Oxygen mask mike panel also from a real Boeing 737

Furthermore - downhere we have a VHF NAV and compass panel from a Boeing 737

And last, but not least

Stall warning panel also from a Boeing 737.

So the box contains five real panels from a Boeing 737.

OEM panels. They are not from the new generation.

They are mostly from the classic the 737-300

But they're gonna look nice in the cockpit

Nothing is cheap in this hobby!

I know that you probably know that.

But that being said I think I actually got these rather cheap.

They were... I can't remember the exact amount - around 115 dollars total

Which is 95 euros

And in the Danish currency which is called kroner, it was actually 737 Kroners

So that was that was perhaps a sign to me that I had to buy these things

I will just run through I'll just run through the different panels here

Stall warning tests. This is also found on the 737NG

If I click the buttons here you're perhaps able to hear this is something else than your regular switch on an overhead panel.

These are heavy-duty buttons

On the back here the wires are cut and the Box / the enclosure is taken away

It isactually just a thin piece of metal

there's no backlighting on this. So it's just two switches

and then a spacer for connectors in the back

Oxygen mask again a push to talk button and a protector and then a switch in here.

This is not found on the 737-800 NG

It is from a 300-series i think.

But i reckon i'll install it anyway.

Otherwise just grab it and use it for parts

But take it look at these... Inside here...

This is really heavy-duty

This is just one switch but there are total of 10 (8) connectors on that switch

That is the Oxygen panel

VHF panel

This one is on the 737NG.

This one is not

It is called IRS if I remember correctly on the new generation

I'll let that pass

and just install this in the cockpit.

Again some heavy duty switches which is locked.

So you cannot move it unless you pull it out and then move it to the side.

Again it's locked.

On the back here there is a connector

I need to figure out if I can buy these connectors somewhere

Else I will just plug wires into it.

I just need to find out which wires go where.

You can see how neatly it is on the inside here.

Again the casing is gone and I might just put some metal on here to make an enclosure.

Weather radar, not the same as the 737NG

But has the same functions. There's a tilt. There is a gain here. But on the

new generation that gain-auto is over here whereas here it is on the opposite side

One thing here that's worth noticing is - I don't know if you can

hear this - it goes click.

So it's like there's a switch here for auto and if you away from auto you have the normal travel from a potentiometer.

This one of course goes to off, standby, normal, center, map and then

if you want to put it on test you need to pull it out lift it and then you can turn it

I will just do it again here from the side. See if you can see that. Lift, turn

and then back to normal

It is still sealed here on the sides. So if I break

these warranty will be void.

I might have to do that :-)

I don't know what's inside here if this is just regular potentiometers or if I need to

replace them so I figured out later on.

The last one is this one

It was ... cheap

but there's one button missing there. I can live with that.

It is of course as this should be in working condition (hopefully)

The switches go out when you push this this one this one goes out.

Again I think it's from a 737-30, -200 perhaps

These also work. Push them down to activate and you can turn them to

turn up and down the volume.

These at alone they are like $20 each if I wanted to buy some.

Down here is a emergency / normal switch

And then a switch here that can return so I'm going to use this as a push to talk button.

Two connectors on the back they just wrapped in plastic here the two here in the back

and I need to figure out the wiring for this as well.

I'm going to take them apart at some point and look at the wiring.

On most of them is goes that the the serial number has been scratched out.

But this is from 92 so this has been

flying for like 25 years.

Other panels like this one, there's a date on this one as well

Let's see if I could find that. Nah... Can't find it here

This one actually still had the serial scratched out but it's number serial number 24

A Gables G-1945 weather radar.

This one still bears the Boeing mark

and it's from November 1987.

No, -78, sorry. 1978 So that is gonna turned 40 years old

in the half a year's time.

And the last one, this one

production date was down here 1985

I'm really looking forward to installing these.

They will give a good ambience to the cockpit.

Oh yes, one last thing I wanted to show you

I have noticed a lot of peopl, cockpit builders are very keen on

getting the exact right color for their cockpit let us see if I just get some light on these.

You might be able to see they are not in any way the same color

this is darker this is lighter

They're not the same color So don't you worry

about coloring in your cockpit. It's gonna be different in real life as you can see here

so you shouldn't be all that concerned about getting the right

tone of gray, or the right "shade of gray" as I reckon you'll say these days

There are more than 50 shades of gray in your cockpit. :-)

I'll do more videos of this once I start wiring them up and installing them into the overhead and pedestal panel

I'm Peter from Build a Boeing You guys take care. Bye bye.

How to build a Worm Compost Box for Composting (DIY Worm Bin) - Duration: 9:49.

do you want a simple and easy do-it-yourself warm box in this video

I'm going to show you how to build very simple and easy do-it-yourself worm bin

that you can do with just a Rubbermaid containers

hi this is Jeremy starke from green thumb Gardner here to give you some tips

tutorials and reviews for all your gardening needs in this video I'm going

to show you how to build a very simple and easy do-it-yourself worm bin box

that anyone can do with just simple materials that you get from from Walmart

or Home Depot or Amazon basically one of the main materials that you're gonna

need is a Rubbermaid container but before we get started if you have any

questions or if you have any comments about you know what you do for compost

and make sure you drop a drop a comment in the box below and let me know what

you're doing for a composting also if you could give us a green thumbs up if

you do like this video and you find it helpful for you and also if you want to

hit the subscribe button as well as the belt to get notified of any new videos

that we have if you look if you want to see similar content like this that we

have here so now that we've gotten that out of the way let's get into the show

so basically today we're gonna go over a very simple method on how to build a

warm box now if you guys don't know what an actual worm bin is or if you've never

seen one Verma composting you know check out the link above right there you'll

see a little box pop up there and I actually did a live video basically

showing you what you know one of my warm bins that I have what it is and what it

does so if you want to check it out before you do this go ahead and just

click on up there and I'll take you right over to that video but what I'll

do is I'm gonna show you the steps and very the the materials that you need the

steps that you need to do and the very simple way to actually put this together

and then I'll show you what you can do the best practice to get started with it

and as always I will always have in the in the description below I'll have a

link to all the materials that I use but let's get into the show and I'll show

you how to do this in the house how simple and easy it is for this project

you may need 310 gallon Rubbermaid bins that you can find at Walmart your local

hardware store or you know on Amazon I'll put a link in the description below

so that you know exactly you know which bin it is but one of the things that I

would look go for which what's neat about the bins that I actually got is

they have this little groove right here and what that does is

that when you put the two bins together it leaves a gap between the bins and the

bottom and I'll show you well that's really important when we want to start

to build this because on the bottom part right here this is where the bottom bin

you're gonna have is you're not gonna put any particular holes in this one

this is just where you're gonna collect the the liquids that drain off from the

composting so it's really important to have a little gap in there so that so

that the you know the liquid doesn't come in to where it's composting and and

because the worms don't like it too wet or you know drenched in water when

you're first getting started you only need to have you only need to have two

of them because you know you're gonna be just starting out with one of them but

as you get as your compost builds and you want to be able to harvest this

you're gonna start the you're gonna put the other container on there and I'll

show you how to do that but first let's get started the first step that you want

to do is once you get your bins is on the bottom of two of them what you're

gonna do is you're gonna put you know a bunch of holes in the in the actual

bottom of the bin so you want to you want to get a drill so you can get your

regular hand drill and I use a half inch drill bit to do this so what I'll do is

I'm just going to go through here and just drill some holes in here

all right once you once you've completed that you want to have the whole bottom

of it it's gonna be all holes on the bottom of it you want to do that for the

other bin as well so you know do that for the second bin the third bin like I

said you don't need to do this for once you once you get through that and you

have all the holes drilled in there the next additional step that you want to do

is on the side of the bin I like to just put some holes in there maybe like three

or four holes and I use a much smaller bit so I use a quarter inch or an eighth

inch but if you have that do we want to put you know four in each side right

here of the of the actual bin and then what that does is that that allows the

the air and oxygen to to get to the worms because when you have this closed

up and you have the cover on top you know it can be not completely airtight

but that way they will ensure that you do have air in there so I just say to do

that plus one the other things too is if you leave this bin outside you're gonna

get some some other critters that are gonna come into the bin that actually

really help but you don't want it too big because you don't want the Flies to

get in there so if you have really small holes though the particular the Flies

that you see the common houseflies and things they won't be able to get into it

so you know if you're an eighth inch or a quarter inch bit all you need to do is

drill that so once you get that all situated when you're first starting this

out you just want to have two bins like I said so the bottom bin is where you're

gonna be collecting all the compost tea in here so once you get all your holes

drilled out you want to basically put the second bin in make sure that it's

it's nice and snug and then what I do is I take some newspaper and then I just

line the very bottom of the bin itself what this does is that it will prevent

the the worms and you know any of the things from going into the the bottom

container but yet it will still be able to drain out because it is newspaper and

eventually it's going to kind of break down in there but I put the on the very

bottom the first time I do it is I put just a layer of newspaper and then one

of the other materials I like to use in the in the warrant the worm compost bin

is some shredded paper or shredded newspaper so I do also just put a little

bottom part of the right on the bottom of it

and you just want to make sure to kind of just you know it's all over the place

just so that it's nice because the raw material is one of the things that you

do need for good compost and then the next thing that you want to do is is you

want to get the worms itself now these worms and all the ones that you find in

your garden so you you know you can't use those particular worms in here

they're not going to the same amount of work that that you want to have the

worms the particular ones that you want to have and I'm not a worm expert but

they're called red regular worms and they're or night crawlers I believe you

could use them I think a lot of people use them in their bait fish and bait as

well because they wriggle and they fish seem to love them but they they're

basically special type of worms that that you know the I guess they're native

to certain parts of the country but uh but uh what I'll do is I'll also put a

link in the description below and I'll have where you can actually get the the

worms itself and where I got my worms but when they when they come they're

basically gonna arrive in like a bag like a almost like a cloth bag or

something like that and they're gonna have some kind of peat moss maybe a

little food in there you know just to help get it started so you know this

basically you know will come in some kind of bag and as you can see I have

these are from my other warm bin if you haven't seen I put a link in the

description below so you can see what the actual worm bin is itself but in

this one I'm basically though all the worms will come in here and so what I do

is is I'll put I'll put the actual worms in one corner of the bin and then I'll

start feeding that particular area of the bin I'll kind of move across and as

I'm feeding I'm putting in more of my material in here and then eventually the

worms are actually gonna reproduce and they're gonna just basically fill this

whole bin up so you have a whole bunch of whole community of worms that will be

in there so you do that and you just put your food you know like food scraps you

know I just throw some broccoli in here I mean usually they like to have smaller

scraps in this but you know like I said I try to keep it simple I'll throw this

in there and that's pretty much it I'll cover it up with that and then you also

have a cover that you want to put on top so you'll put the cover on top and when

I leave this outside I don't really do anything with it I

just keep it raised up off of the ground and it's very simple the only the only

drawback that I don't like about it and I do have this in a covered area because

of this is that the covers sometimes the they'll have a place where the water can

pool so I just I try to keep mine you know in a covered spot outside if I can

so I don't have to worry about the water getting on there but you know every once

in a while you just have you might have to do that because you don't want to get

water in these bins because the worms don't like too much water they do like

some moisture but not not all they don't want to be drowning in this so you want

to make sure that you don't you keep them you know somewhat dry but hopefully

you found this helpful if you do um you know give us a green green thumbs up for

this also subscribe to our channel if you want to see future content like this
