Spare a thought for Joe Hart right now.Although he made mistakes for England in the past couple of years and was a bit mouthy, there's no doubt that he loved playing for his country

Not being selected for Gareth Southgate's 23-man squad hurt him dearly, especially after helping the Three Lions secure qualification for this summer's World Cup finals

"Not going to lie, I'm gutted," Hart said after the squad was announced back in May

"After two years of trying to make the most of a really tough situation, this is hard to take

"I'm proud to have put in the graft and play every minute to qualify with the team and have a really important input in that outcome

" Southgate's decision to omit Hart, however, now looks entirely justified.Jordan Pickford has been arguably England's standout performer at the World Cup so far

He helped the Three Lions win a World Cup penalty shoot-out for the first time ever against Colombia and pulled off three magnificent saves in the 2-0 win over Sweden on Saturday afternoon

That Pickford is performing so well for England must be even more difficult to swallow for Hart, who was once widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League but now faces an extremely uncertain future

He will train with Manchester City next week but the Premier League champions have no desire to keep him on their books

Hart must find a new club if he wants first-team football next season - but there doesn't appear to be an abundance of potential suitors out there for the 31-year-old

Hart, who endured a difficult loan spell with West Ham last term, could be forgiven if he feels totally disillusioned with football right now

And there's every chance that might well be the case after footage emerged showing Hart playing cricket - yes, cricket - while England were beating Sweden in Samara

Per talkSPORT, Hart was playing for Shrewsbury - his local side - against Knowle and Porridge in the Birmingham League Premier Division

How did he do? Well, not very well, unfortunately.Hart batted at number nine in the order for Shrewsbury but was dismissed for just six runs

Nightmare.Perhaps unsurprisingly, he fared slightly better when fielding. He made a catch to dismiss Ethan Brookes, although his side still ended up losing by a wicket

Clearly, then, the prospect of playing cricket was more appealing to Hart than watching Pickford and his teammates further cement their status as national heroes

Who was Shirley "Mum Shirl" Smith? Wiradjuri woman, social worker Shirley "Mum Shirl" Smith. - Duration: 1:54.

Today Google Doodle in Australia honor Shirley "Mum Shirl" Smith.

On July 8th Google is Celebrating prominent Wiradjuri woman, social worker and humanitarian

activist Shirley "Mum Shirl" Smith.

Today marks the start of NAIDOC week, a time when Australia recognizes the culture of Aborigines

and Torres Strait Islanders.

In keeping with this year's theme, "Because of Her, We Can!" guest artist Cheryl Moggs,

a proud descendant of the Bigambul people of Goondiwindi, created this Doodle celebrating

the vibrant spirit of "Mum Shirl."

Colleen Shirley Perry Smith was born on November 22, 1921, in Erambie Mission, an Aboriginal

community in New South Wales.

Diagnosed with epilepsy at an early age, Shirl dedicated her life to community activism that

resulted in social reform for Aboriginal Australians and other minority communities throughout

the country.

After her brother Laurie was arrested, Shirl began visiting Sydney's Long Bay Correctional

Complex to check on him and other Aboriginal inmates.

When guards asked how she was related to the prisoners she wanted to visit, she'd say

she was their "mum"—and a legend was born.

Her work was not limited to prisons, however; Shirl was a founding member of the Aboriginal

Children's Service, the Aboriginal Housing Company, the Aboriginal Medical Service, the

Aboriginal Tent Embassy, and the Aboriginal Legal Service.

Mum Shirl resided in Sydney for the majority of her life, often travelling to educate Australians

on issues affecting Aboriginal communities.

Revered for her humanitarian work, this captivating speaker was recognized as a National Living

Treasure by Australia's National Trust in 1998.

"Many people have told me they think I'm an exception," she wrote in her autobiography.

"I'm not…

There are many fine Aboriginal people who, with half a chance, would be doing what I

am now doing."

What If Zoth-Ommog Was Real? - Duration: 4:55.

Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions, I'm Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey.

Zoth-Ommog is the third son of Cthulhu, a giant reptilian beast that was imprisoned

beneath the earth by the Elder Gods.

We already talked about his brother Ythogtha, and what might happen if he was real.

But what if Zoth-Ommog was real instead?

Would the effects be the same as those of his brother, or might we see different consequences?

Let's explore.

Of course, if you haven't seen our last video on Ythogtha, you can click the link

below, and if you want more What If videos, check out our "Biggest What Ifs" playlist

on the channel.

But for now, get ready, it's time to ask the question: What if Zoth-Ommog was Real?

As with our other videos on the Cthulhu mythos, this will assume that Zoth-Ommog is the only

character from the mythos that exists.

Sorry Ythogtha, your bro will have to go it along.

Now let's learn a little bit about this creepy creature.

Zoth-Ommog is something of a smorgasbord of scary.

He's described as having a cone-shaped body, a reptilian head with razor sharp teeth, resembling

that of a T-Rex, four thick, starfish-like arms covered in suckers, and a multitude of

tentacles bursting forth from it.

He is believed to be trapped under the sea floor, at the bottom of an abyssal trench.

He was imprisoned there by the Elder Gods, following their war with Cthulhu and his kin.

He has a large pair of wings that he could use to fly if he ever managed to escape his

prison.

Of course, without the Elder Gods, Zoth-Ommog would not have been trapped beneath the Earth,

but for the purposes of this video, we'll assume he was anyway.

Spoilers: He may well escape.

One interesting aspect of Zoth-Ommog is his use of avatars.

He is able to create sentient statues on Earth, that he can use to enter the dreams of men.

This allows him to affect the world above, even when he remains imprisoned beneath, although

it seems that his powers are somewhat limited while using them through an avatar.

So, now that we know a bit about him, what would happen if Zoth-Ommog did exist?

Well first of all, it would be important to locate and destroy all of his statue avatars.

With the immense power he possesses, we would want to limit his ability to affect the world

as much as possible.

Otherwise, he might be able to sneak into the dreams of people near the statues, and

could use them to increase his own power, and possibly even escape his prison.

We should also touch on The Yuggs.

The Yuggs, a creepy species of large flatworms who worship Zoth-Ommog, would attempt to release

him from his prison.

They would be hard at work attempting to manipulate humanity into letting them out, by promising

great riches.

However, the Yuggs, and their leader, Ubb, were touched on in a previous video, so I

won't go into detail on that aspect.

If you'd like to hear more about them, and their effects on the world, check out our

video entitled What if Ythogtha was real.

In the meantime, let's assume that they were successful, and managed to release Zoth-Ommog.

What would happen if he managed to escape?

If Zoth-Ommog was released into the world, destruction would follow in his path.

With his immense size and strength, he could cause a huge amount of devastation, and would

be difficult to take down.

Lin Carter's short story, The Return of Zoth-Ommog, told of one instance of the great

old one rising to the surface, on the island of Ponape (pawn-a-pay), and it was not a pretty

sight.

His cult had consumed the people of the island, with one captive relaying his experiences

through the story.

This saw his cult engaging in human and animal sacrifice in order to feed and appease the

giant behemoth, something that would likely come to pass if he actually existed.

This means that we'd not only have to deal with him, but also his cultists, who would

be working to further aid his rise to power.

One might think that once he arose, his cultists would be relatively useless, but that may

not be the case.

If he arose, humanity would need to act quickly in order to stop him, and the cultists could

potentially slow our efforts.

We would likely need to try to use nuclear weapons in order to kill him for good, but

would be hindered if cultists had managed to obtain high-level positions in government.

This, however, was touched on in our video What if Cthulhu was real, so I won't go

into any more detail on that.

That said, even if we were not able to kill Zoth-Ommog, there's a chance that humanity

would not be doomed.

While he has immense capacity for death and destruction, Zoth-Ommog is not so much with

the building and creating.

It's fairly likely that he would keep a significant portion of humanity around in

order to keep the world in working order, and assure that he would be as comfortable

as possible.

Of course, many would still die, either to feed him or just for the fun of it, but humanity

would live on, albeit in a new subservient role.

We might even be forced to rebuild the earth to better suit him, full of non-euclidean

geometry and disturbing visuals.

If Zoth-Ommog decided he wanted followers, it would not be difficult to find them.

Not only would there likely be more than enough people who feared death enough to follow him,

but also because of his abilities to affect the minds of others.

And this isn't only while they sleep; he can even affect one's mind while one is awake,

as we saw in The Return of Zoth-Ommog, when he invaded the minds of the main character

and his companions as they fled.

He can implant visions into the minds of others, often showing other worlds and dimensions,

which can lead to insanity.

However, Zoth-Ommog may have grown lazy and dependent in all his time trapped beneath

the earth, and may require help to ensure he was fed enough.

In this case, it's even possible that we could fight back.

If he was unable to sufficiently keep track of humanity, we could figure out a way to

rid ourselves of the great tyrant, either by reactivating the nuclear silos, or learning

how to once again trap him beneath the Earth.

Of course, it's possible that Zoth-Ommog would simply create avatars across the world,

which he could use to keep an eye on his servants everywhere, but considering the limited power

of these avatars, it's possible that we could work around them.

At the end of the day, it's likely that the Earth would be lost to Zoth-Ommog, but

who knows?

Maybe humanity would have an ace up its sleeve.

Because, in the words of Ian Malcolm Thank you for watching Life's Biggest Questions,

I hope this was interesting and informative, and maybe even inspired you to look into it

What If The Purge Was Real In America For 24Hrs - Duration: 4:51.

Hey guys, I'm Court McGinley and welcome back to the most amazing top 5.

Let's jump right into our list of What if the Purge was real in America for 24 hours.

Alright, let's start off with--Double the time- well for one thing the purge is supposed

to only last for 12 hours so if it lasted 24 hours that would make it double the time

which means it would probably cause double the damage- and double the number of killings.

I mean in 12 hours you can get a lot done but imagine what you could do with 24 hours.

But then also on the other hand for the people trying to mind there own business that's

double the time they have to be trapped indoors- who wants to be barricaded down in their house

for 24 hours- I know I wouldn't.

I mean with 12 hours you can at least get a decent amount of sleep but 24 hours is just

too long.

And then that's just all this extra time that you have to be worrying about if the

people you love are safe.

Also, I feel like after 12 hours if you're purging you should've been able to get your

aggression out.

If you're going on a killing spree for literally 24 hours I feel like it would be hard to stop

the person once 24 hours is up -like they would just want to keep going because they

would now be in a rhythm with it.

Yeah to have the purge actually happen at all would be horrible- never mind expanding

it to 24 hours.

For our next point lets talk about --Merch- this one a little silly but that doesn't

stop it from being true.

In the day and age were in right now merch is made up for everything – like literally

everything.

In the movie, there's a bunch of weapons and a lot of interesting homemade costumes.

And then there's probably my least favorite thing all of the freaky homemade masks.

Yeah, apparently people are big on wearing vision blocking masks when they're murdering

people.

I don't get it but then again I wouldn't be a part of this whole thing if it were to

happen- so anywho.

So yeah I feel like the purge merch would be treated like festival merch- you know-just

all this merch And these crazy costumes would be for sale.

With the merch, there would probably be a little mascot that would be created as well.

Yeah, it would just be a huge thing.

The teens buy into anything these days so this would be a hit.

Christmas has ugly sweaters- valentines day had flowers and chocolates- the purge would

have something too.

Come purge time the drugstores would just have an aisle filled with purge themed merchandise.

--For our next point I think –Canada needs to be mentioned- Seeing as Canada shares a

border with America I can see this not ending well.

I just would see this day spilling over onto Canadian soil so easily.

Like no one's going to be guarding the borders on the US side- it would just get really out

of hand.

Canada and the Us probably wouldn't be civil after this.

And this one 24 hours long purge would cause huge problems down the line for the 2 countries.

The laws we have here in Canada would obviously still apply but I'm assuming some people would

get brave and try and see what they would get away with.

There's already enough negativity going on in this world- we don't need to add a purge-

let alone a 24-hour purge into the mix.

But on the other hand, I could also see Canadians trying to offer safe houses for those who

have families with young children who don't want to participate.

But then again the States could view that as Canada trying to mess up what they have

going on and that could end badly too.

Just too many issues.

So coming off of Canada lets talk about- Anti-Anarchy- If the purge lasted a whole 24 hours I could

definitely see people who are against it ban together into self-enforcing communities.

There are currently people who fight for injustice and what they believe is right- so I could

see that only being made stronger if the purge happened for real.

I feel like as much as the violence grew so would the attempts to stop it.

A true battle of good vs evil.

Sadly I feel in this battle evil would come out on top as they just have literally everything

they need at their disposal.

And this night would literally turn a good person bad.

As I mentioned before there are probably people out there who otherwise would never consider

killing someone.

But give them a prime opportunity-the ability to be anonymous and a get out of jail free

card and you never know what someone could be capable off

-For our next point, I think we need to talk About the--Economy- this would terribly affect

the economy if it just lasted 12 hours never mind 24 hours.

People who specifically target certain businesses- and they could literally destroy millions

or even tens of millions of dollars in assets and inventory if given 24 hours.

They could literally cause a business to go bankrupt.

Putting murder aside of the moment- there are other really destructive things that can

be done such as embezzlement- fraud- insider trading- just so many things that can be done

in a 24-hour time span that can literally wreak someone's life.

Now it would make sense that during the purge business owners would pay to have extra security

guard their business during these 24 hours- however this would obviously come at an extremely

high cost- so this huge chunk of money could really weigh heavily on their business finances-

it would even highly affect their profitability for that quarter.

It would cause a significant instability in the economy for sure.

And there you guys have it that's our list of what if the purge was real in America for

24 hours.

Thank you all so much for watching.

If you have questions or comments leave them down below so I can respond to them.

Also, don't forget to show us some love by giving this video a big thumbs up- subscribing

and checking out our other videos.

Hope you guys have a great day and as always ill catch you in the next one.

Neonatal nurse who was arrested over 'murder' is released on bail - Duration: 5:25.

A 28-year-old neonatal nurse who was arrested on suspicion of murdering eight babies and attempting to kill another six has been released on bail

Lucy Letby has been bailed pending further inquiries into her connection to 17 babies' deaths at the Countess of Chester Hospital during 2015 and 2016

Detectives continued to search her £180,000 semi-detached home in Chester today, although a silver Suzuki vehicle was no longer at the address

The car, with an NHS parking permit, was moved on Tuesday to the neighbouring driveway to clear space to erect a blue forensics tent, which remains in place

Police, who have codenamed the investigation Operation Hummingbird, have also searched Letby's parents' home in Hereford

RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next The ¿geeky, awkward¿ pole-dancing neonatal nurse arrested

Police dig up back garden and search gutters at home of. Share this article Share Letby began working at Chester Hospital after graduating from Chester University in 2011, and has a clean record with the Nursing and Midwifery Council

She was the face of a campaign to raise £3 million for the unit, and said at the time: 'I enjoy seeing them progress and supporting their families

'Detective Inspector Paul Hughes, who is in charge of the investigation, said earlier this week that Letby's arrest as a 'significant step forward' in the force's probe

He revealed the scope of the investigation had been widened since police took up the case - and they are now examining the care of 32 babies, 17 of whom had died

Police were called in by the hospital last May after a 2016 report from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health found staffing at the unit was inadequate

Two babies died on the unit in 2013 and three in 2014, but mortality rates jumped to eight deaths in 2015 and by June 2016, five babies had already died that year

Ian Harvey, the hospital's medical director, said that he is confident that the neonatal unit is now safe and is an equivalent to a level 1 special care baby unit

A police spokesman said today: 'Cheshire Police can confirm that the woman arrested on Tuesday has now been bailed pending further enquiries

'We continue to recognise that this investigation has a huge impact on all of the families, staff, and patients at the hospital as well as members of the public

'Parents of all the babies continue to be kept fully updated and are being supported throughout the process by specially trained officers

'This is an extremely difficult time for all the families and it is important to remember that, at the heart of this, there are a number of bereaved families seeking answers as to what happened to their children

'A spokesman for the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: 'We are continuing to support Cheshire Police with their ongoing investigation

'In line with the trust's current policies, the member of staff involved will not be returning to work while this matter is ongoing

We will not be commenting further at this time.'

What is a Patent and How Does It Work? - Duration: 3:01.

What does it mean when something is patented?

In the United States, patents are granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, or

USPTO.

A patent grants property rights of an invention or discovery to a person who applies for the

patent.

If it is issued, a patent keeps other people from making or selling the invention in the

United States, or, in the case of manufacturing, from using the invention for their own gain.

There are three basic types of patents.

The first is utility patents.

Utility patents are by far the most common type of patent.

They cover 90% of all patents granted.

Utility patents are given to someone who invents or discovers a new and useful process, machine,

manufactured product, etc.

These last 20 years.

While they are waiting for a patent to be granted, manufacturers can display a 'patent

pending' warning on their product.

The second type of patent is a design patent.

Design patents are granted to someone who invents an original ornamental design for

a product.

Now, design patents are only for aesthetic appearance.

Therefore, the invention must not be functional, otherwise, it would have to be covered by

a utility patent.

Design patents last for 14 years.

The third type of patent is a plant patent.

These are granted for discoveries of new plants, or for asexual reproduction of new plant hybrids.

These are not granted very often compared to the other types of patents.

What was the first U.S. patent?

The first patent was issued to Samuel Hopkins on July 32, 1790.

His patent was granted for a process for making potash and pearl ash.

It was signed by President George Washington himself.

Since then, over seven million patents have been issued.

Patents are not proof!

There is something many people don't realize about utility patents.

And, companies use this to their advantage.

A patent is not a stamp of approval by the U.S government!

It does not prove that a product works well or is even a good product.

It simply grants that it is original.

So, contrary to popular claim, you do not have to prove an invention works to get a

patent.

The USPTO does not really have facilities to test every design that is submitted.

However, rest assured that those working for the patent office know their stuff and they

can tell whether something won't work by the design specifications.

That's why they don't give out patents for the hundreds of perpetual motion machine designs

they receive!

Regardless, it is dishonest for companies to tell consumers that a patent proves their

product works.

What is inside the black box in Mecca? - Duration: 1:30.

The literal meaning of the Arabic word ka`bah is "cube" and a cubical stone structure

made of granite.

It is covered with a black silk cloth, known as the kiswa and decorated with gold-embroidered

calligraphy.

On the southeast side of the building is a gold door.

Inside the Kaaba, the floor is made of marble and limestone and has three pillars.

It's opened twice a year for cleaning.

Interior of kaba is decorated with some gifts from kings and emperors in middle era and

ottoman period, the hanging items includes lamps made from gold and diamonds and some

gold plates inscribed with Quranic verses.

The Prophet was given the keys of the Kaaba and instead of keeping it in his own possession;

he returned them back to the Osman ibn Talha of the Bani Shaiba family.

They are keepers of the Kaaba for centuries; and the Prophet confirmed them in that role

till the end of time.

Many people has been inside Ka'bah and it's common for Saudi's royal to invite visiting

muslim head of states to see inside of Ka'bah.

What is an ectopic pregnancy?  According to the NHS website it is when "a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes

If an egg gets stuck in them, it won't develop into a baby and your health may be at risk if the pregnancy continues

"  If this occurs medical experts are unable to "save the pregnancy" and the fertilised egg has to be removed by taking medication or by having an operation

An ectopic pregnancy occurs in one in every 80/90 women.  What are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy?  An ectopic pregnancy does not always cause symptoms, and can only be detected during a routine pregnancy scan

But if symptoms do show it can occur between the fourth and twelfth week of a pregnancy

Some tell tale signs include a missed period, stomach pain, vaginal bleeding, as well as discomfort when going to the toilet

What causes an ectopic pregnancy?  The NHS site has stated there is not one singular reason patients suffer an ectopic pregnancy

However, it can occur if there is a problem with the fallopian tubes, whether narrow or blocked, or even having had surgery on the organs

The site has also stated the following can cause the condition: "pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) – inflammation of the female reproductive system, usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection (STI), or becoming pregnant while using an intrauterine device (IUD) orintrauterine system (IUS) for contraception – it's rare to get pregnant while using these, but if you do you're more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy

"  If the patient has suffered an ectopic pregnancy in the past could heighten their chances of it happening again, as can other fertility treatments, as well as increasing age and smoking

How is an ectopic pregnancy treated?   The NHS website has stated there are three main treatments

The site reads: "Expectant management – you're carefully monitored and one of the treatments below is used if the fertilised egg doesn't dissolve by itself  "Medication – an injection of a powerful medicine called methotrexate is used to stop the pregnancy growing  "Surgery – keyhole surgery (laparoscopy) is performed under general anaesthetic to remove the fertilised egg, usually along with the affected fallopian tube

"  In some cases a fallopian tube may have ruptured, which is very serious and would require repairing by a medical expert immediately

Aftercare   There are various outlets for parents who have lost a pregnancy after suffering with the health condition

Counselling is available for patients struggling with grief.   Support groups are readily available as well, including the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust

Trying to conceive again  The NHS advise waiting for two periods to pass after having treatment before attempting to conceive again

It states: "You'll probably be advised to wait until you've had at least 2 periods after treatment before trying again to allow yourself to recover

"If you were treated with methotrexate, it's usually recommended that you wait at least 3 months because the medicine could harm your baby if you become pregnant during this time

"Most women who have had an ectopic pregnancy will be able to get pregnant again, even if they've had a fallopian tube removed with  65 per cent of women achieve a successful pregnancy within 18 months of an ectopic pregnancy

What is the point of Nato? - Duration: 5:41.

Donald Trump has threatened to pull the US out of Nato unless other member states up defence spending, sparking a debate about the future of the alliance

What did he say? In a stern letter to nine Nato leaders, the US president said he is no longer willing to risk American soldiers' blood unless other alliance members match his country's commitment

Angela Merkel was singled out for particular criticism by Trump, who berated her for setting a terrible example

During her first visit to the White House last year, Trump presented the German chancellor with an invoice for $300bn (£227bn) — the amount by which he estimated Germany had underspent on the alliance over the previous dozen years

Just four out of 28 Nato members spend the minimum target of 2% of national income a year on their militaries

What happens next? The warning comes ahead of a crunch meeting of Nato members next week

"Fears are growing in Downing Street that Trump will use the summit in Belgium to announce a US troop drawdown from eastern Europe to punish the low spenders," The Sun reports

During his presidential campaign, Trump branded Nato "obsolete" and his most recent intervention has provoked wider debate both in the US and in Europe about its future

CNN says "his frustration also seems rooted in a more fundamental hostility to the concept of collective and multilateral cooperation that has united the post-World War II American-led community of democracies"

How has Europe responded? In Europe, "Trump's behaviour has made it harder to make a public case for the transatlantic alliance", says Andrew Foxall in The Times

His policy of alienating traditional US allies and embracing its enemies "has led Nato members to question whether the US is a reliable ally in the event of Article 5 being invoked - ie in the event of an attack upon a Nato member"

Article 5 commits all members to "collective defence", says Nato, which "means that an attack against one ally is considered as an attack against all allies"

The president has in past suggested he would not automatically jump to the assistance of member nations who were attacked and recently told a Swedish foreign minister he would like America to be able to pick and choose its Nato commitments

The UK defence secretary is pushing for an increase in British military spending

Is Nato a historical relic? Even without Trump, "it was inevitable that Americans would begin questioning commitments abroad and the cost-benefit ratio of alliances like Nato as memories of the horror of World War II fade and the common purpose of the Cold War recedes into history", says CNN

But those who argue the defensive alliace is no longer suited to a post-Cold War world are almost always met with the words: Vladimir Putin

The Russian president has long viewed the fracturing of Nato as a key foreign policy objective, angered by its expansion to include many former Soviet satellite states - despite repeated reassurances it would not do so

In response, he has adopted an increasingly aggressive stance in Eastern Europe in recent years, most notably in his annexation of Crimea in 2015

So while Donald Trump's complaints about Europe's defence spending "may be justified", says CNN, there are "fears that his hardline approach will backfire and put the alliance itself at risk

a possible precursor to a splintering of the international system that made the United States the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world"
