Hi, we're back with some more helpful tips for you busy ladies out there. But

before we get started please give this video a thumbs up and don't forget to

subscribe and please leave us a comment down below. It really helps youtube to

understand that women over 40 really do have a demand for seeing more fashion on

youtube. Today we've got six helpful tips for you all related to getting ready and

fashion. You know our channel is all about women over 40 and great ideas and

tips for casual everyday looks but we also know that you don't have a lot of time to

put into fashion somedays. So we're going to show you how to do it quickly and

fashionably. Tip number one start with your closet. In order to put together

great stylish outfits quickly you need to have an organized closet that makes

sense from a stylist perspective. In other words forget what you've heard

about organizing by color instead organize by style. For example all

camisole is grouped together then t-shirts, short-sleeved blouses,

long-sleeve button-down, shorts grouped together,

jeans. The same thing goes for shoes. Organize by style such as flats, sandals,

heels. Jewelry can be organized by metals such as all silver items together, all

gold items together. This system makes it very easy to grab the pieces that you

need quickly and easily to create a look. Tip number two, pick out your outfit

the night before including shoes and accessories. This may sound a bit silly

but let's be honest who's motivated to style a fashionable look at 6 a.m. If

you take the time to put together a look in the evening before going to bed,

you'll have more time to think about your look and put a little effort into

creating something stylish. You can also ensure that the pieces you need are

clean. So that you aren't rummaging through the laundry basket looking for

what you need while you're trying to get out the door. Tip number three, steam or

iron what you plan to wear the night before. Or

give them a light mist of water and pop them in the dryer for a few minutes

while you jump in the shower. Tip number four blow-dry your hair the night before

and just freshen up the pieces surrounding your face in the morning.

Styling your hair the night before will save you lots of time on your morning

routine. Pop on a shower cap to protect your freshly styled do before hopping

in for your morning shower. Then when you get out, simply refresh the pieces of

hair surrounding your face by blowing them out with a large round brush and

misting them with some hairspray. Tip number five, use makeup products that

combine steps. For example a BB or CC cream that contains sunscreen saves you

one step in your getting ready beauty routine. A powder foundation is a very

quick way to cover any skin imperfections and it's very easy to

apply quickly. Have a go to simple makeup routine for those mornings when you need

to be out the door fast so that you aren't spending extra time thinking

about which eyeshadow to choose. Number six, this last tip is for those of you

who would love to use different purses to match different looks but feel like

it just takes too much time and effort to switch out all of your belongings.

Keep your essentials in a small zippered pouch that can be easily transferred

from one bag to another. I keep things like a pressed powder or lipgloss hand

sanitizer gum and any other daily essentials in a

zipper pouch and place it on my dresser beside my wallet at the end of the day.

Then I can just grab the purse I want to match the days outfit off the shelf,

throw the wallet and pouch inside, and I know I have everything I need. It allows

me to enjoy all of my handbags with very little effort.

So we hope you enjoyed our

6 tips for getting out the door fast and fashionable.

Don't forget to check out our other fashion tips, tricks, and lookbooks and

we'll see you next week. Bye guys. Have a great week

Fashion up in flames: why Burberry burned unsold stock worth R506m - Duration: 6:37.

Fashion up in flames: why Burberry burned unsold stock worth R506m

Fashion up in flames: why Burberry burned unsold stock worth R506m.

Luxury British fashion house Burberry destroyed hundreds of millions of rands worth of its fashion and cosmetic products over the past year to protect its brand.

The company burned unsold clothes, accessories and perfume worth around R506-million (£28.6 million), according to its annual report, in a practice now common across the industry to guard against counterfeiting.

Retailers describe it as a measure to protect intellectual property and prevent products being stolen or sold at discounted prices.

"Burberry has careful processes in place to minimise the amount of excess stock we produce," the company said in a statement.

"On the occasions when disposal of products is necessary, we do so in a responsible manner and we continue to seek ways to reduce and revalue our waste."   Among the products destroyed were around R184-million (£10.4-million) worth of beauty items, which Burberry said was a one-off related to a licence it agreed with beauty company Coty last year.

The firm - which announced a slight rise in annual profits in May to about R5.2-billion (£294-million) - has said it takes its environmental obligations seriously and harnesses the energy from burning the items.

It also pointed to partnerships with organisations such as the Ellen MacArthur Foundation that work to reduce waste in the industry.

But news of its destruction policy drew flak in Britain.

Lawmaker Tim Farron, environment spokesman for the opposition Liberal Democrat party, said: "It is outrageous that Burberry think setting fire to their unsold stock is an acceptable solution." Noting recycling was "far better for the environment", he added: "As a leading British fashion brand they should be leading the way in sustainable fashion." BURBERRY NOT ALONE Since last week, when that piece of information buried in Burberry's 200-page report came to light, the brand has come under scrutiny on social and news media for the practice.

But industry experts say Burberry is far from alone.

"It is a widespread practice in the fashion industry, it's commonplace," said Arnaud Cadart, a portfolio manager at Flornoy and Associates who has previously followed the luxury industry as an analyst.

He said very few luxury brands hold sales to get rid of stock and instead destroy unsold products.

Fashion items with short lifecycles increases the amount of leftover stock and items destroyed.

"Once you do some private sales to employees and journalists, it's dumping," he said.

French luxury giant LVMH said in its latest annual report that "provisions for impairment of inventories are.

generally required because of product obsolescence (end of season or collection, expiration date approaching, etc.) or lack of sales prospects."   Hermes' annual report also spoke of product "obsolescence (notably finished seasons or collections)".

Clear indications of the amount of products destroyed were not provided.

'NOT SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE' "It's clear this isn't going well" in terms of public opinion "because this isn't a 'green' practice and perhaps not socially responsible as there are people who don't have clothes to put on their backs," said Cadart.

"Yes, there is a moral, ethical question as well as protecting the environment," said Boriana Guimberteau, a specialist on intellectual property law at the FTPA law firm.

"But from a legal point of view, the brands are destroying genuine products which they own, products that are at the end of their life or the season, and they can do what what they want" with them, she said.

A tenet of maintaining brand image is that exclusive products should be sold in exclusive distribution networks and that markets shouldn't be flooded with end of season products Guimberteau said a tenet of maintaining brand image is that exclusive products should be sold in exclusive distribution networks and that markets shouldn't be flooded with end of season products.

The manufacturers association Unifab, which defends intellectual property rights and combats counterfeiting, said there are different reasons firms destroy their unsold goods.

These can include a desire to ensure they don't enter other sales channels, while products such as perfumes and cosmetics have sell-by dates after which firms destroy them to ensure consumer safety.

Firms also destroy unsold goods "to protect its intellectual property, which is an asset," said Delphine Sarfati-Sobreira, Unifab's general director.

She deplored the witch hunt against Burberry, saying that a "firm which destroys its products will certainly produce others, thus giving work to some of its staff".

Why Make Accessible Web-sites? Top Three Reasons Podcast Fashion Technology - Duration: 2:33.

Hi I'm Colette Costello, for www.fashiontechnology.co.uk. Today I'm going

to be talking about why you should design your websites be fully accessible,

what are the positives that making your website accessible can bring. So first up

by making it accessible, you are making it better for everybody,

One in five people in the UK have some form of impairment, these impairments

could mean that visitors to your website are not able to access your website

fully, so you could be missing out on valuable customers. Also everybody at

some point is impaired, whether they have forgotten their glasses, or they're

holding a new bar baby, by thinking about accessibility from the start you can

create a website that is easier and better for everybody to use.

Communication is a big one, a website is just a tool to get your message across

and to interact with your customer, it doesn't need to be limited to just a

visual means of communication, by tapping into all senses you can reach more

people, for example ensuring your website can be

verbally understood when using a screen reader, or captions on a video.

Lastly good practice, developing a website that is usable and accessible

promotes high quality work, good accessibility means that you rank higher

in Google and also if customers have a good experience, especially people with

impairments, more people will return and use your website more often.

Why Fashion Technology Experts are Getting it Wrong? Future Predictions Podcast - Duration: 5:11.

Hi I'm Colette Costello for www.fashiontechnology.co.uk. So

what is the future for fashion technology, wearable technology? If you

look at my blog you'll find this is where I started out, looking at different

quite sci-fi ideas about how fashion technology, wearable technology would

evolve in the future. Having looked at lots of ideas such as machines that fold

your clothes, tattoos on your skin that you'll be able to make phone calls from

and self-lacing trainers, one thing that I've realised is that I think the

experts are getting it completely wrong, that they've got the wrong approach,

they're really focusing on what the technology can do, these creative

ideas without actually considering who will be using the technology. I think the

future of fashion technology and wearable technology, should and will be

based around the person that's going to be using it, so that's where accessible

design comes in, UX design and this is where the experts should be looking I believe.

The trend seems to be for the experts to look at the technology and

think of how it can be used in ten years time, so for example if you walk past a

shop and you're wearing smart glasses, adverts will pop up and that seems to be

the approach is to look at 10 years into the future. I think what people should be

doing is they should be looking at what technology we have now and seeing how

that technology can best be used and then allow the fashion technology to

develop from there. So an example would be if you look at online shopping many

fashion websites are still very inaccessible for anybody with

impairments such as people are visually impaired, the technology is out there

so they can use a screen reader to read through their website so they don't have

to be able to see the clothes on sale. Very often this technology is not

adopted by companies and people that are visually impaired still struggle to shop

online, people who it would greatly benefit. So I believe a better approach

would be for fashion companies and technology experts when designing the

retail experience whether it's online or in-store is to think of the user, think

of their needs, whether it's visual needs, hearing needs

and to make assessments based on this. From there the companies can adopt the

technology that best address the consumers needs. By taking this

approach I think fashion technology, wearable technology will develop in a

more consumer friendly way, but it will actually be useful and it won't be

gimmicky, it won't be a novelty, it will actually be there ready and accessible

for people. This approach does remove the danger that seems to be when people are

looking at technology in the future they seems to be approaching it from a very

sci-fi point of view and people seem to forgotten, the human element which is that

human emotion, human interaction and all these technologists will be obsolete if

they can't be used by people in the right way,

where so many experts are getting it wrong.

I did used to look at predictions

for wearable technology, fashion technology from such experts and I did

used to believe that that is what we would be seen in the future, but taking

my approach and how I think things will develop I actually think it's really

hard to predict ten years into the future, twenty years into the future,

I do think that VR will be around, augmented reality will be around, it

is how they'll be used, how they would be applied is still yet quite

unknown and that I do think the focus will be more human centred than we

envisaged. To learn more about accessibility and fashion technology see
